      Based on the ‘Opposites United’ design language, Kia EV2 Concept seamlessly combines timeless elegance and rugged sportiness. The smooth sheet metal panelling is complemented by rugged elements like the bold bumper design, prominent wheel arches and thick body cladding.

      To add more character, Kia EV2 Concept utilises an open lamp design without cover glass for the LED DRLs. Alloy wheels get distinctive square elements and KIA lettering at the centre. All lighting elements are vertically stacked including the edgy tail lamps at the rear. Turn signals on the ORVMs are also placed vertically.
      Images reveal a full glass roof and blacked-out A pillars. Kia EV2 Concept does not use B pillars and comes with rear-hinged rear doors. If a BMW i3 popped in your mind, you’re on the right track. This implementation ensures easy ingress and egress for users. With all four doors open, EV2 can also unlock scenic views of the outside world. Such door formats will also be useful in camping scenarios.

      With interiors following a minimalistic design format, there’s ample space for all passengers. Kia EV2 Concept has some unique features such as the bench seat in front. Both front and second row seats are highly customizable. For example, the rear seats can be folded up and the front seats can be pushed back. This additional space has various practical applications.
      Kia EV2 Concept has an elegant, clutter-free dashboard. There is a large integrated screen for the infotainment system and instrument cluster. Kia has used sustainable materials for the EV, wherever possible. The cockpit area gets a fabric-type surface finish in deep burgundy colour. Other key features include a yoke-style steering wheel, unique LED dashboard animation and triangular-pattern lighting.

      Another unique offering is the message lighting that displays messages on the car’s windows. It can be used to communicate with other road users and pedestrians. Kia EV2 Concept has advanced features such as OTA updates and vehicle-to-load (V2L). Another innovation is the removable triangular speakers. Users can position it anywhere in the car and also take it out when the car is parked.

      Although specs of EV2 Concept have not been revealed, the EV is likely to utilize the entry-level 400V configuration of Hyundai’s E-GMP platform. This architecture can also be seen with the EV3 and EV4 offering two battery pack options – a 58.3 kWh and an 81.4 kWh unit. Onboard the EV3, these battery packs deliver a range of 434 km and 603 km, respectively. The front mounted electric motor generates 201 hp.

      Where pricing is concerned, Bajaj has priced GoGo P5009 at Rs 3,26,797 (Ex-sh) and it also gets a 12 kWh battery option. The larger GoGo P7012 is priced at Rs 3,83,004 (Ex-sh). With the products like RE E-TEC 9.0, Maxima XL Cargo E-TEC 12.0 and Maxima XL Cargo ETEC 9.0, Bajaj has established a strong network with reliable and customer-friendly products.
      The company is catering to quick transit segment with Bajaj GoGo lineup offering comfort and space. The company is set to replace the current lineup of of E-Auto with best-in-class features, superior range and tempting fleet operators to make the switch to Bajaj GoGo.

      The main highlights of Bajaj GoGo electric 3W range is that they get full metal body with aesthetic design, 5-year battery warranty, spacious seat, luggage space, telescopic suspension with twin-shock absorbers, first-in-segment anti-roll detection and auto hazard, LED lighting, hill hold assist and more.
      Where performance is concerned, the top-spec Bajaj GoGo P7012 gets a motor rated at 7.7 bhp of peak power and 36 Nm of peak torque. P7012 only gets the larger 12 kWh battery pack and offers up to 251 km of range. There are drive modes – Eco, Power, Climb and Park Assist. Ground clearance is 180 mm, top speed is 50 km/h and has gradeability of 27.8%.
      Bajaj GoGo – Black & Yellow
      Interestingly, Bajaj GoGo is offering a 2-speed automatic gearbox to regulate torque and extract maximum possible range. There’s a fully digital LCD instrument cluster and USB Type-A ports for charging along with TecPac provisions for telematics.

Maruti’s Swift was the first vehicle in company’s history to offer 6 airbags as standard fitment and Dzire became the first vehicle to be awarded 5 Stars in Global NCAP’s crash test assessments based on their latest protocols.

      Now, eVitara crash test images have been revealed. From the looks of it, Maruti Suzuki seems to be showcasing internal crash test footage and not crash tests done by external agencies like Global NCAP, Bharat NCAP and Euro NCAP. Similar to Fronx’s internal crash test video that Maruti Suzuki revealed.
      Notably, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara was subjected to Bharat NCAP crash tests and images of the same leaked on the internet in July 2024. Results of which are still not made public by Bharat NCAP. Sticking to eVitara, we can expect excellent crash safety proposition considering it is a global vehicle.

      Specs & Equipment
      eVitara is based on Suzuki’s HEARTECT-e electric born platform and features a flat floor for maximum room for occupants. This platform is made of over 50% high tensile steel and for excellent strength and rigidity. These elements promise optimum safety for occupants and battery pack.
      The company boasts innovative chassis attributes like shock absorbing mounting structure and multi load paths for effective distribution of impact forces. Production of eVitara is exclusively tasked to Maruti Suzuki’s Gujarat plant where a badge engineered Toyota counterpart named Urban Cruiser EV will also be produced.

      Tesla Car Sales Decline 45% In Europe
      Tesla used to be a popular electric mobility solutions provider here. However, in recent times, Tesla has been witnessing a major sales decline in this region. The numbers are quite severe as Tesla sales halved YoY with 50.3% drop in Europe and a 45.2% drop in Europe + UK + EFTA regions in January 2025, as opposed to sales performance in January 2024.
      This is a peculiar development as the demand for BEVs (Battery Electric Vehicles) is holding strong. In fact, BEV sales in Europe soared by 37% YoY. While electric cars, as a whole, are still popular and booming, European car buyers seem to be distancing themselves from Tesla brand, singularly.

      The downfall of Tesla sales in Europe is a combination of factors, but controversies revolving around Tesla CEO, Elon Musk, might be a major reason. His infamous salute, his support for Germany’s AfD Party and his political views, his support for a jailed activist in UK are some of the controversies which stirred debates and damaged his public image.
      Repercussions of these activities, launch anticipation of new and updated Tesla Y and inventory shortages are some of the reasons attributed to Tesla’s sales decline in January 2025. As per ACEA, Tesla sold 9,945 units in January 2025, down from 18,161 units from January 2024. In major European nations like France, Tesla sales fell by 63% YoY and in Germany, it was 59.5%.
      Chinese EV sales Soar
      The drop in Tesla sales in Europe, UK and EFTA region is not for lack of demand for EVs or BEVs. BEV sales grew by 37% YoY across Europe, demonstrating that there are no negative sentiments for electric cars. ACEA revealed 1,24,341 electric cars were sold in Europe and 1,66,065 units in Europe + EFTA + UK with a 16.7% market share and 11.9% YoY growth.
      Tesla Model 3
      If we take SAIC Motors’ sales performance in this region in January 2025, the Chinese EV giant sold 22,994 units. New car sales in Europe saw a 2.6% decline YoY overall. The market share of Petrol and Diesel cars (combined) declined from 48.7% to 39.4%, followed by self-charging hybrid vehicles at 34.9%.

However, the theme and placement of the red accents is different in case of Comet EV Blackstorm edition.
      One of the distinctive features is the ‘Morris Garages’ lettering in red colour. This is placed above the full-width LED strip. Lighting elements are the same as that of the standard model. The illuminated MG logo does not get any special treatment. Red accents can be seen on the bumper in a distinctive pattern along with wheel covers and side body claddings.
      On the inside, MG Comet Blackstorm gets a black & red themed interiors. Black upholstery with contrasting red stitching lend a special feel. We can see Blackstorm logo in the headrests, finished in red shade. MG Comet EV Blackstorm edition adds another great option for users who prefer a unique look and feel for their ride.

The electric motor generates 42 PS and 110 Nm of torque. Comet EV can be recharged from 0-100% in 3.5 hours when using a 7.4 kW charger. Charging time is 7 hours with a 3.3 kW charger.
      Exterior highlights include LED headlamps and taillamps, R12 steel wheels with cover and connecting lights at front and rear. Inside, Comet EV has leather wrapped steering wheel, fabric seat upholstery, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 10.25-inch full digital instrument cluster.

      4 New Maruti EVs Confirmed To Launch In India – Starting With eVitara

In this journey, electric cars will also play a significant role. The company has realised this and has confirmed four new electric cars to launch in India, starting with the eVitara electric SUV, which will launch soon.
      4 New Maruti EVs Confirmed
      Maruti Suzuki has always been known for their budget and affordable lightweight hatchbacks. However, the company has taken great strides in UV segment (Utility Vehicles). Now, the focus has been expanded to incorporate electric cars into the mix, which is expected to provide the boost for Maruti Suzuki to regain its 50% market share aim.
      The company will launch its maiden electric vehicle, eVitara, soon in many major markets like Europe, Japan and even India. With the eVitara, Maruti Suzuki will open its electric vehicle innings in India, which will be followed by three more EV launches in the future, by the end of the year 2030.

      eVitara will be followed by an electric version of Fronx, which will be positioned below eVitara.       What to expect?
      After the eVitara and Fronx electric, there is less clarity about Maruti Suzuki’s electric car onslaught. We can probably expect an electric version of Ertiga, considering it is India’s best-selling MPV and is an untapped segment. This vehicle might become popular by fleet operators too, a segment BYD has banked on.
      We can expect a small electric car from Maruti Suzuki as well, considering the brand’s unwavering commitment and dominance in the A Segment. Something that could take on Tata’s Punch EV. However, possibility of this happening is quite low, considering the top-down approach Maruti is likely to implement with its electric portfolio.

      BYD Atto 3 Facelift Debuts – Gets Design Updates, Enhanced Safety

      One of the popular BYD cars in India, the Atto 3 was launched here in November 2022. Updates have been provided regularly, including 3 new variants (Dynamic, Performance and Superior) introduced in 2024. BYD has just revealed the facelift model, which is expected to be launched in many markets soon, including India.

      Based on exterior images released by BYD, it appears that the facelifted Atto 3 is aiming for a more refined, polished appearance. While the lighting setup remains unchanged, the air intakes and bumper section have undergone a major refresh. Atto 3 facelift also gets a camera at the front, which is part of the advanced ADAS kit. Side profile has been enhanced with the addition of sportier alloy wheels.

      One can also notice a new exterior colour with the facelift, which looks quite subtle and mature. In India, the current model is offered with colour options of Boulder Grey, Ski White, Parkour Red and Surf Blue. Another noticeable change is the partially blacked-out D-pillars. This treatment balances out the distinctive rippled finish used on the D pillars. Other features such as circular wheel arches, body cladding and conventional body-coloured door handles have been carried forward.
      At the rear, facelifted Atto 3 gets a sportier roof spoiler that has integrated dual brake lights. Tail lamps have been refreshed with Chinese knot pattern elements, reflecting traditional Chinese decorative art. Atto 3 facelift is also expected to get a refreshed cabin with multiple new features. However, interiors are yet to be revealed.

      Advanced ADAS kit
      Facelifted Atto 3 is offering a more advanced ADAS suite, referred to as the God’s Eye C (DiSus 100). This ADAS setup comprises an array of camera, sensors and radars. A three-camera block is installed under the windshield. There are five long-range cameras and four surround view cameras.
      Atto 3 facelift is equipped with five mm-wave radars and twelve ultrasonic radars. The enhanced ADAS suite also benefits from 29 sensors. According to BYD, the upgraded ADAS suite is designed to support ten high-speed navigation scenarios. Moreover, users will also be able to access six intelligent parking modes.
      BYD Atto 3 Facelift
      Same powertrain options
      Atto 3 facelift is expected to continue with the existing powertrain options. Across global markets, BYD Atto 3 is offered with battery pack (LFP) options of 49.9 kWh and 60.5 kWh. In India, Atto 3 is available with only the larger 60.5 kWh battery pack. The single electric motor mounted on the front axle generates 150 kW (204 PS) and 310 Nm of torque.
      As per ARAI standards, range is 521 km with the larger battery pack. NEDC driving range is 480 km. Variants with the smaller battery pack, available internationally, have a CLTC range of 430 km. With a DC charger, BYD Atto 3 (60.5 kWh) can add 0 to 80% in around 50 minutes. With an AC charger, the charging time is higher at 9.5 to 10 hours.
