Tata Harrier EV Showcased At Pune Plant – Stunt Show Thrills Spectators

Tata Harrier EVExpected to be launched at around Rs 25 lakh, Tata Harrier EV will rival the likes of Mahindra XEV 9e and BYD Atto 3
To boost its dominance in the EV segment, Tata Motors will introduce multiple new EVs. One that holds significant potential is the Harrier EV. Ahead of its launch, Tata Motors recently showcased Harrier EV at their Pune plant, where the SUV was also seen performing some stunts. Along with that, new details are also out.
    Robust multi-link suspension
Harrier ICE model has a torsion beam rear suspension. In comparison, Harrier EV is equipped with a multi-link suspension. This suspension setup improves overall experience, as it can absorb road imperfections in a better way. So, users can expect smoother rides with the Harrier EV. Safety aspects such as cornering stability and traction are also improved with a multi-link suspension. This is made possible with the independent movement for each wheel.
    Tata Harrier EV
With the multi-link suspension, Harrier EV will be better at handling off-road tracks. Sudden lane changes during emergency situations will become a lot safer with the multi-link suspension. Vibrations will be reduced, something that will be especially beneficial for rear passengers.
    More refined, polished exteriors
To complement its electric heart, Tata has adopted a more sophisticated design approach for the Harrier EV. This is especially true for the front fascia. Harrier EV gets a closed-off front grille with horizontal design elements. Most striking update is the vertical slats on the lower bumper. This treatment is similar to that of Curvv EV. Apart from these updates, most of the other features are largely the same as the ICE model. Tata also has to focus on costs, which is where sharing parts becomes a priority.
    Tata Harrier EV
Side profile is largely the same as the ICE model. There are a few exceptions such as the new aerodynamic design of the alloy wheels. Harrier EV could get 19-inch wheels for the top variants. Another distinctive feature is the 3D ‘EV’ badging on the front door. In comparison, the ICE model has a ‘Harrier’ 3D emblem. At the rear, most of the features of Harrier EV are the same as that of the ICE model.

    AWD, 500 km range
Harrier EV is based on the Acti.ev platform. At the 2025 Bharat Expo, Tata Motors had confirmed that Harrier EV will have all-wheel drive capability. Certified range will be more than 500 km. The Acti.ev platform can support vehicles with a range of 300 km to 600 km. It can accommodate various drivetrain options such as AWD, RWD and FWD. Other key highlights include reinforced body structure, 5G support, ADAS L2+ capabilities, Vehicle to Load (V2L) and Vehicle to Vehicle Charging (V2V) tech. Harrier EV is expected to get most of the features possible with the Acti.ev platform.
    Loaded with features
Harrier EV will be equipped with a comprehensive range of premium features. It will have a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, dual-zone climate control and connected car tech. Other highlights include ventilated and powered front seats, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, wireless charging, a panoramic sunroof and premium JBL sound system with 10-speakers. Harrier EV also gets the ‘Summon Mode’ on the key fob, allowing users to move the vehicle forward and backward.

Several manufacturers experienced a decline in demand, while a few, such as Hyundai and BMW, recorded positive growth.
Tata EVs Lead but Face a Decline
Tata Motors retained its dominance in the electric car segment, selling 3,825 units in February 2025. However, this marks a 24.21% drop from the 5,047 units sold in February 2024. The decline in Tata’s EV sales can be attributed to increasing competition, evolving consumer preferences, and the lack of new model launches in recent months.
Electric Car Sales Feb 2025 – YoY Comparison
MG Motor India secured the second position in the electric car segment, with 3,270 units sold in February 2025. This represents a 22.82% decline from the 4,237 units sold in the same period last year. Despite strong demand for models like the ZS EV, MG’s numbers dropped due to increasing competition and supply constraints.
Hyundai was one of the few brands that posted a significant YoY growth in EV sales. The company sold 738 electric vehicles in February 2025, a 129.91% increase from 321 units in February 2024. The boost in sales can be credited to the growing popularity of the Ioniq 5 and Kona Electric, along with Hyundai’s expanded EV network.
Electric Car Sales Feb 2025 – MoM Comparison
Mahindra EVs Face a 30.52% Decline
Mahindra’s electric vehicle sales dropped 30.52% YoY, with 478 units sold in February 2025, compared to 688 units in the same month last year. The brand, which recently launched its XUV400 EV, is yet to see sustained demand, especially with newer competitors entering the market.
BYD, one of the prominent Chinese EV brands in India, reported a 18.85% drop in sales. The company sold 254 units in February 2025, compared to 313 units in the same period last year. While BYD continues to expand its presence, its relatively higher pricing could be limiting wider adoption.
Luxury EVs: BMW and Mercedes Show Mixed Trends
Among luxury electric carmakers, BMW posted a 20.99% growth, selling 219 units, up from 181 units in February 2024. Meanwhile, Mercedes-Benz saw a decline of 29.47%, with 67 units sold compared to 95 units last year. The demand for premium EVs continues to fluctuate, with some brands benefitting from new launches while others face market saturation.
Citroen, Volvo, Kia, and Others Report Declines
    – Citroen EV sales plummeted by 78.07%, with only 59 units sold compared to 269 units last year.
    – Volvo EVs dropped by 22.22%, selling just 21 units in February 2025.
    – Kia’s EV sales declined by 59.57%, with 19 units sold compared to 47 units last year.

Let’s take a closer look.
    BYD Atto 3 Facelift Launch
In Chinese market, BYD Atto 3 is sold as Yuan Plus and is quite popular in Dragon’s Land. BYD Atto 3 Facelift Launch
Speaking of, 2025 BYD Atto 3 facelift starts from CNY 115,800 (approx 13.9 lakh), which is CNY 1,000 (approx Rs 12,000) down from its preceding model in lower trims. At the rear above refreshed LED tail lights, we can now see a BYD logo, replacing the BUILD YOUR DREAMS lettering.
    Features upgrade!
On the inside, overall dashboard layout looks the same and even the materials seems to be carried over. This is not a bad thing at all, as BYD is known to offer great quality for the price. However, steering wheel is now and looks more mature and centre console has seen a massive overhaul. Gear selector has been shifted behind the steering wheel, making this cabin feel less cluttered.
    BYD Atto 3 Facelift Interiors

Mahindra XEV 9e. Image – Ahemad RiderMahindra has announced a significant update to its EV charging policy for the upcoming BE 6 and XUV 9e electric SUVs. Initially, the price of these vehicles did not include the charger and installation costs, with customers required to pay an additional Rs 50,000 for a 7.2 kW charger or Rs 75,000 for an 11.2 kW charger. However, after reviewing customer feedback, Mahindra has revised its policy, offering more flexibility to buyers.

Volkswagen ID.Every1 Concept Debuts – 250 Km Range, 2027 Launch

Volkswagen ID.Every1 Concept DebutsWith the advent of electric vehicles, Volkswagen is jumping on the train and aims to launch its most affordable EV by 2027. Volkswagen’s smallest and most affordable electric car was previewed in the form of ID.Every1 Concept. It aims to launch in 2027 and revolutionise electric car scene in Europe.
    Volkswagen ID.Every1 Concept
The production version of Volkswagen ID.Every1 is likely to be called ID.1, which has been teased by VW. It will be the smallest among VW’s Electric Urban Car Family and it will bring affordability into the equation. It will sit below ID.2, which was previewed as ID.2all Concept. Production-spec ID.1 is said to be a direct replacement of VW Up.
    Volkswagen ID.Every1 Concept
ID.Every1, as the name suggests, is supposed to be a mass market offering. It is supposed to be “from Europe, for Europe”, as per VW. Where design is concerned, VW has nailed it. Personally, I think ID.Every1 Concept looks very human-like as though it is a character from Disney’s Cars franchise and it will probably start talking anytime now.
It has eye-shaped headlight setup with an intricate LED pattern, which is connected by a Black applique with illuminated VW logo in the middle. Below these headlights, we have vertical LED DRLs and a lower grill finished in Black that looks like the mouth of a face. Accentuating this further, is wraparound effect on A Pillars and curvaceous bonnet shape.
    Volkswagen ID.Every1 Concept
Side profile shows curvaceous design approach too, unlike VW’s typical lines. Partially sculpted wheel arches, flush door handles and large 19-inch alloy wheels are notable here. While the concept looks like it has frameless windows, production-spec ID.1 will have conventional design for doors and windows.
Rear design replicates that of its fascia with LED tail lights and vertical LED brake lights below them. We can’t help but notice that rear design looks slightly like that of a Honda Brio. We can also see that the roof has an interesting design and so does ID.Every1’s roof spoiler.
    Volkswagen ID.Every1 Concept Interiors
    Minimalist and Futuristic Interiors
On the inside, Volkswagen ID.Every1 Concept shows a minimalist approach. However, there are still quite a lot of physical buttons seen below the free-standing infotainment screen that control audio and climate. Instrument screen is rather small on this concept and is expected to be more conventional in production model.
This will strictly be a four-seater as ID.Every1 Concept measures just 3,880 mm long and proportionately narrow. It gets a 2-spoke steering wheel, a portable Bluetooth speaker between both front passengers and the centre console is mounted on a rail to be slid front and back between 1st and 2nd row passengers.
    Volkswagen ID.Every1 Concept Interiors
Battery specs are not revealed, but Volkswagen ID.Every1 Concept is powered by a new 95 bhp motor and the company promised 130 km/h top speed and 250 km range. It will be FWD only and it is expected to have a small battery to achieve the affordable price tag. Launch is likely in 2027. More
