Mahindra XUV1000 Electric Coupe SUV Render – New Design Language

Mahindra is set to unveil five new electric SUVs under Born Electric range today, on August 15th 2022Mahindra XUV1000 Electric Coupe SUV RenderMahindra was active in the EV segment before with products like e2O, e2O Plus and eVerito. But those cars didn’t garner many sales and were discontinued. But this time, Mahindra wants to do things properly that will appeal to the world.Yes. Mahindra is now aiming at global markets alongside India’s. In this light, Mahindra will unveil five electric SUVs loaded with technology and features on India’s 75th Independence day in Oxfordshire, England. But there is a slight confusion as to what we could expect from this event. First, Mahindra only teased us with 3 electric SUVs. Now, Mahindra has teased us with 5 electric SUVs. And they have registered 8 new names – XUV-e1, XUV-e2, XUV-e3, XUV-e5, XUV-e6, XUV-e7, XUV-e8 and XUV-e9.Mahindra XUV1000 Electric Coupe SUVSee, Mahindra has XUV300 which is a sub 4m ICE-powered SUV. Now, Mahindra is testing XUV400 which is slightly larger and is an electric SUV. So, Mahindra’s EVs could get nomenclatures starting with an even number like XUV400 and will be based on ICE-powered SUVs whose nomenclature starts with an odd number like XUV300.Confused? Ask Mahindra to name their products with words instead of letters and characters. So, Mahindra has a theme here. A pattern, which it follows. When the dots are connected, we can deduce that XUV800 Electric SUV will be based on XUV700 which is currently on sale in India. Also, an XUV1000 Electric Coupe SUV based on XUV900 ICE-powered Coupe SUV.Mahindra XUV1000 Electric Coupe SUV RenderThis leaves a gap in its lineup with XUV500 and XUV600. This is where Mahindra will position its Creta rivalling compact SUV. ICE-powered version of that will be XUV500 and an electric version of that will be XUV600 in the future. Sticking with XUV900, it will be a coupe SUV inspired by XUV500 Aero concept that Mahindra showcased at 2016 Auto Expo. Our rendering artist Pratyush Raut has taken a free hand to envision what XUV1000 Electric coupe SUV could be like and the results are quite enthralling, to say the least. The render is inspired by Mahindra’s previous teasers and a stylish design culminated at Mahindra Advanced Design Europe (MADE) headed by Pratap Bose. We had already rendered XUV900 SUV and this one complements even further.Mahindra XUV1000 Design & FeaturesMahindra XUV1000 Electric coupe SUV render gets an attractive fascia with “C” shaped LED DRLs and a closed-off grille proudly showing off Mahindra’s new Twin Peaks logo. It also gets stylized aerodynamic alloy wheels finished in a dual-tone effect to complement this futuristic coupe SUV. Side profile is its main highlight as it ends in a scrumptious coupe roofline, highlighted with a subtle chrome element.Mahindra XUV1000 Electric Coupe SUV RenderAs it is a futuristic electric SUV, it also gets streamlined cameras instead of conventional ORVMs that increase the cool-factor ten fold and also reduce aerodynamic drag created by chunky ORVMs. Coupe SUVs are a love-it or hate-it affair. I generally don’t like coupe SUVs, but this one is an exception. Such is its beauty. All Born Electric SUVs might have relatable designs and proportions to their ICE counterparts. In a monocoque chassis, the platform is its main component. With Born Electric SUVs, they might get a different platform stuffed with batteries while the rest of the exoskeleton may remain similar or slightly modified.Mahindra XUV1000 Electric Coupe SUV RenderSpeaking of batteries, Mahindra has partnered up with Volkswagen to source batteries for their EVs in large numbers. We say large numbers because Mahindra products tend to have immense popularity as we’ve seen with Scorpio N. We can expect single or even dual motor configuration unlocking AWD functionalities too. Around 500 to 600 km range can be expected too.Keeping up with numbers, Mahindra XUV400 can get around 40 kWh, XUV600 can get 60 kWh, XUV800 can get 80 kWh and XUV1000 can get 100 kWh battery packs. This is not confirmed by Mahindra. But it would be cool if it becomes a reality. Details are likely to be revealed later today. More

Mahindra XUV900 Electric SUV Render In 6 Colours – New Flagship

Mahindra Born Electric SUVs are expected to benefit from the recently signed component sharing agreement with the VW GroupMahindra XUV900 Electric SUV RenderMahindra’s aspirations to make its passenger vehicle brand truly global is about to receive a much needed shot in the arm soon. The SUV specialist is on the verge of world premiering a whole new family of EVs on August 15 in the UK under the Born Electric banner. As many as 5 new electric SUVs will be unveiled at a grand event in Oxfordshire, UK and one of which is likely to be called XUV900. Based on the teasers, our designer Pratyush Rout has come up with a speculative rendering of the flagship Mahindra electric SUV. Please note that the renderings in this article are not commissioned or approved by Mahindra. They are based on artist’s imagination and teasers released by Mahindra.Mahindra XUV900 Electric SUV – A new eraAs you can see, the automaker has gone for a completely fresh design identity in-line with the global trends. The overused Jeep-inspired 7-slot front grill has finally been put to rest. The C-shaped LED lighting signature at the front sets the tone for what can be described as sleek styling. That said, the overall design of the front fascia may polarize opinions. The profile is all out maximizing the XUV900’s aerodynamic efficiency. Smooth sheet metal surfaces, flush door handles, cameras instead of ORVMs, sharp side skirts and aero-optimized wheels are designed to keep the drag co-efficient as low as possible. For a car of this size, no aerodynamic gain is too small not to be pursued. For instance, the optimization of the wheels alone could earn over 5 km in range which is crucial.Mahindra XUV900 Electric SUV RenderNothing much about the interior is known as of now save for the sketches teased in a latest video. The new breed of electric Mahindras are expected to be equipped with a squarish multi-function two-spoke steering wheel, configurable colour instrument panel display, and of course, a modern infotainment system with a plethora of features. The design, trims, colours and materials used are expected to reflect international tastes rather than being India-specific.Born ElectricThe Born Electric Mahindra SUVs are designed in the UK at MADE (Mahindra Advanced Design Europe) under the leadership of the brand’s new design chief Pratap Bose. Majority of the development is being handled by Mahindra North American Technical Center.Mahindra recently entered into an agreement with the Volkswagen Group to share the critical components German giant’s successful MEB electric platform which underpins the likes of VW ID4 and Audi Q4 e-tron. The partnership will not only allow Mahindra to arrive at the global EV scene with a competitive package but will also help reduce development costs and lead time.[embedded content][embedded content]We expect the five SUVs to debut in their concept avatars on August 15. Market-ready versions are likely to arrive two years down the line. With the new products, the company will have an increased focus on markets like Europe and North America. More

2024 Hyundai Kona Electric SUV Spied For The First Time – New Gen

Hyundai Kona EV on sale in India is the pre-facelift 1st gen Kona – Global market has the facelifted 1st gen Kona on offer2024 Hyundai Kona EV Spied – Front ProfileKia and Hyundai combined, are underdogs that will soon match the might of Tesla and BYD in the future. Hyundai has been developing strategic products to compete with well-established EV giants. The South Korean company is also taking on current hottest EV in the world, Tesla Model 3 with upcoming Ioniq 6.Hyundai and Kia are eyeing large electric SUVs too, as we recently saw Kia EV9 under testing and will soon be followed by Hyundai Ioniq 7. 1st gen Hyundai Kona EV facelift is already sold in some markets. The company is also testing 2nd gen Kona EV based on 2nd gen ICE-powered Kona which is also under testing.2024 Hyundai Kona Electric SpiedFor starters, these test mules were spotted just outside of Hyundai / Kia technical centre in Germany. The test mules for Kona EV are almost identical to test mules of regular ICE-powered Kona. But with keen eyes, they can be distinguished from each other even under heavy camouflage.First, Kona EV test mules get a square openable pocket which is presumably for the charging port. 1st generation Hyundai Kona EV which was also launched in India, had a charging port at the front and in the same location too. Hyundai Kona EV facelift based on ICE-powered Kona facelift, also had the charging port at the same spot.2024 Hyundai Kona EV Spied – Side ProfileThis Kona EV facelift was not launched in India. This suggests that the 2nd gen Kona EV will be based on an updated platform of its 1st gen. Second, if we look at the rear, there is no exhaust pipe visible. Like, obviously. Hence, confirming that the latest Kona test mule is in fact, an EV.What Can We Expect?Less camouflaged ICE-powered Kona test mules have been spotted globally. It sports a full-width LED lightbar at the front as seen on other Hyundai products like Staria and Stargazer. It is also likely to get a trapezoidal-shaped LED headlight in its bumpers. Grille on ICE-powered Kona 2nd gen will be closed off for that typical EV appeal that we also see in MG ZS EV.It will also get body cladding all around and Ioniq 5 inspired minimalist interiors. In terms of powertrains, Hyundai is mum on this matter. But as Kona EV is expected to be similar to Kia Niro EV, we can expect the same motor and battery to be shared. Kia Niro EV gets a 200 bhp electric motor which draws power from a 64.8 kWh battery.Kia Niro EV can cover a claimed 463 km of range on a single charge with this relatively large battery. But Hyundai can also offer a smaller battery with a less powerful motor which will eek out a similar range on base variants. We say this because that’s similar to what we got in India with the first gen Kona EV. India launch isn’t confirmed yet, but we still have a long time as it is expected to hit global markets in 2024. Apart from ZS EV, it will also rival upcoming new SUVs from Tata and Mahindra.Source More

2023 Kia EV9 Electric SUV Spied – Closer Look At LED Headlight, Alloys

Kia EV9 is expected to sit above the EV6 that was recently launched in India2023 Kia EV9 Electric SUV. Images – Auto Spy.Kia has massive plans when it comes to electrification. Kia has already made it official that they will go carbon neutral by 2045. That roadmap is valid across the globe and not just in a country. Kia also aims at 100% electrification of all its products in Europe by 2035 and other international markets by 2040.This is a massive ambition and Kia needs to start working yesterday to achieve it. Hyundai and Kia are expected to bring 6 EVs to India by the end of 2024. Kia has already launched its EV6 electric SUV crossover in limited numbers via CBU route. It comes in GT Line trim and gets an option of either RWD or AWD.2023 Kia EV9 Electric SUV SpiedBut Kia has another Ace up its sleeve, but this is not just an electric crossover. It is a large electric SUV. It is based on the Kia EV9 concept, that was first showcased at LA Auto Show 2021 alongside Hyundai’s concept based on same platform named SEVEN.Kia might be targeting this mainly for the US market where big cars are mostly the norm. In terms of size, we can expect it to be around the same size as Kia Telluride and Hyundai Palisade. Both these SUVs are large and are powered by IC engines.2023 Kia EV9 Electric SUVThe South Korean brand has promised a US launch in the year 2023. As the deadline is nearing, there have been multiple test mules spotted undergoing testing in South Korea. 2023 Kia EV9 Electric SUV has been spied in a parking lot, giving us a closer look at its alloys, LED headlight and tail light. The SUV is heavily camouflaged with meshes for headlights, indicators and fog lights in the cladding. When viewed, Kia EV9 does remind us of the new-gen Lexus GX SUV in terms of presence and profile. Even though Kia EV9 was cladded, we can see the boxy silhouette that is inspired by the concept vehicle. It will radiate a rugged appeal that will appeal to pickup truck-obsessed USA.On the inside, we can expect it to have a clean and futuristic design layout and might get similar entertainment packages from newly revealed Hyundai Ioniq 6 electric sedan. In terms of seating, it will get 3-rows of seating like a Telluride and might promise a big luggage space when the third row is folded up.2023 Kia EV9 Electric SUVJust like Kia’s EV9, Hyundai will also launch an electric SUV that will be similarly sized too. Hyundai’s version will be named Ioniq 7 and will sit above Ioniq 5 which is expected to launch in India by the end of 2022. Both electric SUVs will be based on the E-GMP platform on which Kia EV6 and Hyundai Ioniq 5 are currently based.Price & CompetitionKia hasn’t revealed the exact launch timeline yet. As of now, we don’t know what features it will get, what powertrains it will be equipped with and at what price point it will be launched. But we can expect Kia EV9 to be priced slightly lower than Ioniq 7. In terms of competition, it will compete with its cousin Hyundai Ioniq 7, China-exclusive VW ID.6, Cadillac Lyric, Mercedes-Benz EQS and the likes. Kia India hasn’t revealed if EV9 will make it to our shores yet. More

2022 Mahindra XUV400 Electric SUV Spied – New Details Revealed

XUV400 will be longer than XUV300 and will have similar dimensions and proportions as SsangYong Tivoli2022 Mahindra XUV400 Electric SUV SpiedMahindra has firmly established itself as a UV maker and not a carmaker in India. Mahindra has been slowly phasing out everything that ain’t an SUV or a MUV. KUV100 100 and Marazzo remain, but they hardly sell, as seen in our sales breakup. In June 2022 Marazzo sold just 124 units and KUV100 sold 0. Ouch! After setting foot in UV segment, Mahindra now wants to do the same thing with EV segment. Right now, Tata Motors is the king of electric car segment and Mahindra wants to eat into its share. In this light, Mahindra has bet big on EVs and will unveil five new global electric SUVs under Born Electric series on August 15.But they are global electric SUVs and won’t come cheap. So, for mainstream market where Nexon EV has a stronghold, Mahindra will launch the XUV400 electric. We have seen spy shots of XUV400 electric in the factory before. But now, it is found testing on road, credit to YouTube channel Auto Comparo.Mahindra XUV400 Electric SUVThe main highlight of XUV400 electric is that it is not a chopped SsangYong Tivoli to fit under 4 meters. SsangYong Tivoli was chopped up to create XUV300 to get the B-segment tax benefits. But for EVs, that doesn’t hold at all. S0, Mahindra has chosen to retain Tivoli’s original length which will be around 4.2m.[embedded content][embedded content]This size increment makes sure that XUV400’s boot space doesn’t suck like XUV300’s. Also, its proportions will be nicer. The test mule is heavily camouflaged, but we can immediately recognise the XUV300 Electric concept that Mahindra showcased at 2020 Auto Expo. It has the same shape for front headlights and boomerang-shaped LED DRLs. The futuristic LED bulbs in concept will be replaced to accommodate practical bulbs.XUV400 Electric retains the closed-off grille and lower bumper design from its concept though. Production-spec model has a small air dam at the bottom which was closed off in the concept. Interior, however, was similar to the outgoing XUV300 and we expect Mahindra to give enough wow factors like Adreno-X infotainment and more.Powertrain & LaunchMahindra has also stated that XUV400 Electric will source high-energy-dense NMC cells from LG Chem. NMC cells are superior to the cylindrical LFP cells found on Nexon EV and EV Max. With this move, XUV300 Electric might be more powerful and have a longer range than Tata’s EVs.2022 Mahindra XUV400 Electric SUV SpiedIn effect, we can expect around 150 bhp of power and over 400 km of range from a single charge. This will be enough to compete against the current highest-selling EVs, Tata Nexon EV Prime and Nexon EV Max. Mahindra hasn’t yet announced a timeline for the launch of XUV400 Electric. But we can expect it to launch by the end of this year or Q1 2023. When launched, it will have all the features XUV300 has and then more.Currently, Nexon EV Prime prices start from Rs. 14.99 and get a 30.2 kWh battery and promise a claimed range of 312 km. Whereas, Nexon EV Max prices start from Rs. 18.34 lakh (both prices ex-sh) and get 40.5 kWh and promise a claimed range of 437 km. It will be interesting to see where Mahindra XUV400 Electric falls and how it will impact current electric car sales in India. More
