The ongoing global semi-conductor shortage has taken its toll across every two and four wheeler maker in India. Production schedules are in turmoil and deliveries are being deferred to contend with this shortage. New launches are also being put on hold as a result of these supply issues.
Royal Enfield was also affected by production constraints right from 2020 itself. It was one of the reasons why launch of Meteor 350 and new gen Classic 350 had to be delayed. However, despite delay, both motorcycles have found favour among buyers in India with waiting period stretching to as long as 2 months.

MoM sales however dipped 11.21 percent from 3,728 units sold in October 2021.
Trailing sales list was RE 650 Twins, which though much in demand in global markets, has failed to garner as much sales from buyers in India as compared to the other bikes in the company’s product range. Models made between 1st September 2021 and 5th December 2021 have been affected by a braking issue for which 26,300 units of Classic 350 were recalled. This recall was only for Classic 350 motorcycles with rear drum brakes and single channel ABS and no other motorcycle models were affected.
Royal Enfield is working on a new Himalayan variant. The Scram 411, as it will be called, has been spied on test and in a more a road-biased guise as against the off-roader stance of the current Himalayan. More

2022 Honda CBR250RR New Trico Edition Colour Debuts

2022 Honda CBR250RR New Trico Colour EditionApart from the new colour, 2022 Honda CBR250RR will continue with the same set of features as current model
To ensure a better match with CBR Fireblade DNA, Honda has introduced a new Trico Edition variant for CBR250RR in Malaysian market. It replaces the red colour scheme that was introduced in 2020. Price remains unchanged at RM 25,999, which is approximately Rs 4.67 lakh (ex-sh).
2022 Honda CBR250RR New Trico Edition details
As the name suggests, the new colour scheme is a combination of three primary colours – red, blue and white. Red shade is predominant, as can be seen on the front fender, headlamp cowl, side fairing, fuel tank and seat frame. Blue shade is used on the sides in a linear manner, stretching from the side fairing to the rear seat frame. Third highlight is the white shade that is used on side fairing and for branding elements.
Intermix of red, blue and white create an exciting contrast with the blacked-out bits. Much of the bike’s core parts are blacked-out such as chassis, alloy wheels, sections of front cowl, and engine. USD forks in golden finish further enhance the bike’s sporty profile.
Second colour option for Honda CBR250RR is Mat Gunpowder Black Metallic, which has been retained as is. It is essentially an all-black theme with contrasting red highlights. It too has golden USD forks. While Trico Edition seems more fun and livelier, the black theme is all about stealth, power and intrigue.
2022 Honda CBR250RR New Trico Edition
2022 Honda CBR250RR engine and specs
Hardware is largely the same as current mode. Honda CBR250RR is powered by a parallel twin cylinder 249.7 cm, liquid cooled motor. It generates 40 hp of max power at 13,000 rpm and 25 Nm of peak torque at 11,000 rpm. It is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The bike has assist slipper clutch and quick shifter, which work to improve overall ride dynamics. It also has throttle-by-wire system controls.
A uniquely-shaped full LCD digital instrument console sits snugly at the front. It displays a range of information such as fuel gauge, gear position and ride mode. There are three ride modes, Comfort, Sport and Sport+. The bike has diamond truss frame with USD front forks and 5-way adjustable monoshock unit at rear. Braking system comprises disc brakes at both ends with dual-channel ABS as standard.
    Honda CBR250RR India launch?
It is unlikely that Honda CBR250RR will be launched in India. In terms of sale volumes, there’s limited scope for fully-faired quarter litre bikes in Indian market. Honda will focus more on mid-weight motorcycle segment, where it has had good response to bikes like CB350 and CB350RS.
Over the next three years, Honda plans to increase sales in this segment to around 3 lakh units per annum. To make it possible, multiple new products are expected to be introduced. Honda is also working to increase its BigWing outlets to boost sales of its big bikes. More

2022 Yezdi Roadking New Motorcycle Teased Officially

Upcoming Yezdi Roadking 2022 Motorcycle RenderAtleast two new motorcycles under the Yezdi brand have been spied testing – One is Roadking scrambler and other is adventure
Mahindra owned Classic Legends has been working to revive the defunct brands Yezdi and BSA. The company has already revived the Jawa brand in India back in late 2018 and BSA earlier this month. Initially, there will be two models coming out of the Yezdi lineup- the Roadking scrambler and an adventure bike.
Both motorcycles are expected to be underpinned by a new architecture accompanied by a higher load-bearing rear subframe and have been spotted on multiple occasions in recent times. The company has been actively testing these bikes ahead of their launch expected to take place in the first half of 2022.
2022 Yezdi Roadking New Motorcycle Teased
As seen in earlier spy shots, the Roadking is expected to be a neo-retro scrambler with some classic styling elements. The motorcycle has been spied featuring highlights such as a round headlamp, a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, circular rearview mirrors and fork gaiters. The single-piece seat gets a ribbed pattern while the tail section seems upright yet very short.
The rear fender has no visible extension and flaunts a small LED headlamp while the rear wheel gets a tyre hugger. The bike will feature a twin exhaust setup with short tailpipes and canisters. Take a look at the first official teaser below.

There’s another one waiting in line ;)?

    — yezdiforever (@yezdiforever) December 21, 2021

Riding ergonomics look fairly comfortable with a tall and wide handlebar and centre-set footpegs. Mechanical components including engine-gearbox assembly, liquid cooling shrouds and suspension units have been blacked out to provide a dual-tone theme to the motorcycle.
    Yezdi Adventure Styling
Coming to its Adventure sibling, the motorcycle receives some distinct styling highlights which are in line with contemporary modern ADVs. These include a signature beak upfront, a raised tail section, a taller stance and a big windscreen. Unlike the scrambler, the adventure bike boasts of a single-sided upswept exhaust canister and different radiator shrouds in comparison to current Jawa models.
    Expected Specs & Features
Both motorcycles share the same underpinnings with the frame being suspended on conventional telescopic forks at front and a mono-shock with preload adjustability at rear. However, the Adventure bike is expected to offer more travel than its scrambler sibling. That said, both motorcycles ride on wire-spoked wheels shod with dual-purpose tyres.
Anchorage will be taken care of by disc brakes on both ends with calipers from ByBre. In terms of features, Yezdi ADV will be equipped with a fully digital instrument console and all-LED illumination including taillight, turn indicators and headlight.
In all probability, these bikes will be powered by a 334cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor that pumps out 30 bhp and 32.74 Nm of peak torque. This unit will be paired with a six-speed gearbox via a slipper and assist clutch. The powertrain currently features in Jawa Perak and will also be seen propelling the brand’s upcoming cruiser. More

TVS Apache 165 RP Race Performance Teased Ahead Of Launch

TVS Apache 165 Race Performance – RenderUpon launch, TVS Apache 165 RP is expected to be priced at a premium of around Rs 5000-7000 over RTR 160 4V
Earlier this year, TVS had filed a new trademark for a more performance-oriented motorcycle in the Apache range. The registered trademark read as ‘TVS Apache 165 RP’. The Hosur-based bikemaker has now released an official teaser, which says that TVS RP Race Performance is Coming Soon.
For starters, RP stands for ‘Race Performance’ which was revealed in the short 14-second teaser. In all probability, TVS would be launching RP Editions based on multiple Apache models in the future. The first of them is expected to be Apache RTR 165 RP which will be based on RTR 160 4V.
TVS Apache 165 RP Race Performance Teased
The video teaser doesn’t reveal much except that the upcoming motorcycle will be “the pinnacle of performance”. Hence, models in the RP series will specifically cater to enthusiasts who seek more performance extracted out of their machine.
For this, TVS could be using a rebored version of the 159.7cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine that currently powers Apache RTR 160 4V. It could also offer some new kits, like they offered with Apache 310 earlier this year. This kits will allow owners to tune their motorcycles as per their need.
    [embedded content]
In its current form, this fuel-injected motor dishes out 17.63 bhp and 14.73 Nm of peak torque which in itself is segment-leading. When rebored and retuned, this power plant will pump out a few extra horses and twisting force. In all likelihood, this engine will be paired with the same 5-speed transmission, however, certain tweaks could be made to the gear ratios.
    Expected Updates
TVS is also expected to make some styling revisions to Apache RTR 165 RP in order to distinguish itself from RTR 160 4V and make it look sportier than its sibling. Ergonomics of the bike will also be altered to provide a more aggressive riding posture, thanks to a lower-set clip-on handlebar accompanied by slightly rear-set footpegs.
Not just ergonomics but adjustments would also be made to the hardware configurations of the bike. A suspension setup comprising telescopic forks at front and a Showa-sourced mono-shock unit at rear with preload adjustability are expected to be carried forward to Apache RTR 165 RP. However, damping of both front and rear units is expected to be stiffer in order to provide better handling and stability at high speeds.
    Image for reference
A stronger braking setup is expected to be offered by TVS so that it offers plenty of bite. Disc brakes at both ends will be complemented by a dual-channel ABS as standard ABS. There is data of its powertrain specs available as of now but we expect details to come our way in the near future.
In terms of features, all gizmos on offer in RTR 160 4V are expected to be carried forward to RTR 165 RP. These include all-LD illumination, a fully digital instrument console, LED DRLs, Glide Through Traffic (GTT) technology, a one-touch start and a wave bite ignition key. TVS might also throw in the brand’s connectivity solution called SmartXonnect. More
