Yamaha XSR 155 Limited Edition Custom Built Sold Out In A Few Hours

    Yamaha XSR 155 Limited Edition
Yamaha Thailand has teamed up with Zeus Customs to create a neo-retro cafe racer version of XSR 155
Yamaha XSR 155 is already a very desirable motorcycle thanks to its neo-retro design and one heck of an engine underneath. However, a custom based on the same has taken its visual appeal to another level. First displayed at the recently concluded Thailand Motor Expo, the custom-built XSR 155 garnered a lot of attention.
The motorcycle has been built by Yamaha Thailand in association with Zeus Customs who has developed the custom kit which has transformed XSR 155 into a cool retro café racer. Only 100 units of this limited edition model went on sale and all of them were sold in a matter of hours.
XSR 155 Cafe Racer- Design Updates
The bike witnesses plenty of changes on its skin, one of the most prominent updates includes addition of a clip-on handlebar which is typical of a cafe racer. Other notable updates include retro side panels, a custom dual-tone seat with a ribbed pattern, chopped front and rear fenders and a slightly revised headlamp cluster. The motorcycle’s aesthetic appeals are further accentuated by custom body decals.
This custom XSR 155 has been wrapped around a matte grey paint job with the internals and running gear dipped in black paint which offers a sporty dual-tone theme. Front brake hose has been shortened to lower the handlebar height and accommodate a numbered series production plate on the upper triple clamp. The side-on upswept exhaust muffler also appears to be an aftermarket unit.
    Yamaha XSR 155 Limited Edition
Providing the custom XSR 155 a more prominent on-road appearance is a large blacked-out engine bash plate. Finally, the muscular fuel tank dons a Zeus Customs badge which lends the bike a distinct identity. Apart from the updated design and a few ergonomic changes, almost everything else has remained intact.
    Hardware, Powertrain Specs
Speaking of dynamics, the customised XSR 155 rolls on 17-inch front and rear alloy wheels which are suspended by conventional telescopic forks at front and a mono-shock at rear. Braking duties are carried out by single hydraulic discs at both front and rear aided by a single-channel ABS as standard.
Powering this modified XSR 155 is a familiar 155cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled VVT motor which also powers other models such as Yamaha R15 and MT-15. This motor kicks out 19bhp of power and 14.7 Nm of peak torque and is paired with a 5-speed gearbox via a slipper and assist clutch.
    Price
Yamaha Thailand has priced this custom XSR 155 cafe racer THB 91,500 (approx INR 2.05 lakh). XSR 155 is unlikely to reach Indian shores anytime soon. The closest replica Indian consumers have experienced is FZ-X which is a retro-style commuter based on the FZ range of motorcycles and launched earlier this year. More

New Royal Enfield Himalayan Scram 411 Red Colour – Production Spec

Royal Enfield Himalayan Scram 411 – Production SpecRoyal Enfield Scram 411 is expected to be slightly affordable than the current Himalayan when launched
Among the next big launches from Royal Enfield, Scram 411 holds huge significance. Essentially a road-biased version of the current Himalayan, Scram is expected to be slightly more modest in its approach as far as adventure touring is concerned.
Test mules of the upcoming bike have been spotted testing on multiple occasions in recent times. The scrambler has been spotted yet again in a production avatar just ahead of its launch. Latest spy shots are credit to Dr Firoz Khan.
Even though it will carry forward the same underpinnings from Himalayan, it will be more directed towards customers who wish to travel long distances on tarmac. The latest spy shots further highlight variations between Himalayan and Scram.
Himalayan Scram 411 Red – Updated Styling
While the current Himalayan offers a distinct presence on roads, the upcoming Scram 411 is rather subdued. Scram misses out on a few styling attributes which provide Himalayan the ADV appeal. For starters, Scram doesn’t feature a windscreen upfront and the signature exoskeleton which gives its ADV sibling an overall rugged appearance.
Royal Enfield Himalayan Scram 411 – Production Spec
Ergonomics of Scram also appear to be slightly different than that of Himalayan with a slightly repositioned handlebar. Similarly, the tail section also seems to be redesigned with respect to the positioning of the taillamp and rear turn indicators. Other styling highlights include revised front and rear mudguards, a side-on upswept exhaust canister, a single-piece seat, fork gaiters, single-piece grab rail and a round headlamp.
The motorcycle rides on 19-inch wire-spoked wheels on both ends instead of a larger 21-inch front unit in Himalayan. We expect the wheels to be wrapped around by block pattern, dual-purpose tyres so that the bike is able to carry out some amount of soft roading. A rear luggage carrier will most likely be offered as an accessory to augment its touring capabilities.
    Powertrain, Hardware Specs
Scram 411 will be powered by the same 411cc single-cylinder air-cooled SOHC engine that propels Himalayan. However, earlier reports have mentioned that this motor could be equipped with a liquid cooler in Scram 411. In its current air-cooled avatar, this engine makes 24.3 bhp at 6,500rpm and 32 Nm of peak torque at 4000-4500rpm. This motor will be mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
    [embedded content]
Suspension setup of the motorcycle will comprise conventional telescopic forks upfront and a mono-shock at rear. However, the setup will be tweaked for slightly more road-friendly mannerisms. Braking will be carried out by disc brakes at both ends which would probably be aided by dual-channel ABS. Another feature expected to be on offer is the Tripper Navigation pod on the instrument console.

Ola Electric Scooter Problems Reported – Owner Gets Free Replacement

One owner got delivered damaged Ola Electric ScooterAfter delayed deliveries, Ola electric scooters face new challenges as owners point out to multiple issues
Ambitious plans take a lot of courage and they often have to face numerous challenges along the way. Something similar appears to be happening with Ola Electric that aims to become the largest producer of electric scooters in the country.
While the scooters are well-equipped with several best-in-class features, things are not exactly working out as expected for some users. These owners have now shared their experiences online and are expecting to get a resolution soon.
Ola electric scooter owner reporting problem
Ola electric scooter – post-delivery issues
One user has reported that his Ola S1 Pro started experiencing problems soon after delivery. After riding just around 6 km, the owner noticed problems such as screeching noises and headlight issues. The scooter was subsequently towed away for repairs. When the scooter was delivered back, the owner noticed broken number plate and oil marks on the scooter. On its part, Ola Electric has offered to fix the reported issues.
Furthermore, the owner said the scooter was used for around 19 km while it was with the service team. He was also not happy with the fact that documentation for the repairs was not provided.
    Ola electric scooter range issues
In another case, a Visakhapatnam-based Ola S1 Pro owner has reported that his scooter was delivered with cracks and dents all over the body. Although customer care team has assured that repairs will be done, the owner said he purchased a new product and not a refurbished product.
    Ola electric scooter free replacement
The owner also pointed out to the gap between the LCD panel. According to him, this fault can potentially damage the panel if exposed to water or rain. In this case, Ola has replied that the owner will be getting a free replacement of a brand new Ola electric scooter in pristine condition.
Ola electric scooter – insurance charges and range issue
An Ola electric scooter owner has pointed out the difference between the amount charged for insurance and the actual premium amount mentioned in policy document. As against Rs 7,471 paid, the policy document shows only Rs 6,695. As of now, Ola scooter buyers have to go with insurance chosen by the company.

    — ???????? ????? (@don4every1) December 24, 2021

Ola scooter users have also reported issues with range. In real world conditions, range is less than certified range of 121 km for Ola S1 and 181 km for S1 Pro. Ola has already issued an advisory for this in an earlier communication.
As compared to the conventional ecosystem of dealerships, Ola Electric is following an entirely online approach. Scooters are delivered and serviced at the user’s address. For repairs and other jobs that cannot be done onsite, it is likely that Ola has partnered with third-party workshops.
Alert citizens reporting fraud being done in the name of Ola Electric scooter dealership
Some have also reported of fraud by unknown parties. There have been cases where fraudsters shared fake links for making payment of Ola electric scooter. Another fraud that is going on in the name of Ola Electric, is fraudsters are asking for advance payment for setting up dealership of Ola Electric.
As this is a new way of managing after-sales services, it is likely to face problems. This is exactly what appears to be happening right now. Hopefully things will improve in future, as problems are identified and resolved. Ola is working with owners to fix issues they are facing. More

New Jawa Cruiser TestingClassic Legends is getting ready to have multiple new launches in 2022 – Two new motorcycles under Yezdi and Jawa brands are expected
After launching Jawa, Classic Legends is not getting ready to launch Yezdi in India. Jawa currently has 3 offerings – Jawa, 42 and Perak. In 2022, Jawa is expected to get two more motorcycles under its brand name – one of them will be a cruiser, which has been spied testing quite often in the past few days.
The latest spy shots of Jawa Cruiser are credit to automotive enthusiast Aditya Puranik. A total of two test mules of the Jawa cruiser were spotted. These new spy shots reveal the riding stance of the upcoming Jawa cruiser in detail.
    2022 Jawa Cruiser
Speaking of its styling, the motorcycle gets a neo-retro design with prominent elements such as a round headlamp, a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, circular rearview mirrors, broad fenders and a wide saddle. Other highlights will include a small flyscreen upfront and fork gaiters.
Like most cruisers, the Jawa cruiser will have a low-slung stance and ergonomics of the motorcycle would ensure a relaxed and comfortable ride thanks to a low seat and a tall and wide handlebar. Interestingly, the Jawa cruiser spied, does not have forward-set footpegs. They seem to be in the same position as found on the current Jawa and 42 motorcycles.
    New Jawa Cruiser Testing
    Jawa Cruiser Expected Specs
Powering the upcoming Jawa cruiser could be a 334cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, DOHC engine that currently powers Jawa Perak. This same engine is also expected to propel other upcoming motorcycles from Classic Legends. On the Perak, this motor dishes out 30 bhp and 32.74 Nm of peak torque and will be paired with a 6-speed gearbox via a slipper and assist clutch.Familiar hardware configurations will be employed on the upcoming cruiser.
Suspension duties will be carried out using conventional telescopic forks at front and twin shock absorbers at rear. Braking duties will be handled by single disc brakes at both ends which will be aided by a dual-channel ABS.
In terms of other features, the Jawa cruiser can offer all-LED lighting and a semi-digital instrument console. Details are too thin at the moment to speculate an exact launch timeline or expected price of the bike. Hopefully, Classic Legends throws some light on its upcoming projects in the near future.
    Yezdi Debut 13th Jan 2022
While details about Jawa cruiser launch are awaited, Classic Legends has confirmed that the Yezdi brand will make its official debut on 13th Jan 2022. It is on this day that the new Yezdi Roadking and its Adventure version are also expected to debut.

GT Force Electric Motorcycle ConceptThe GT-Force high speed e-scooter will be capable of a  top speed of 60 km/h with  150 km range on single charge
The electric two wheeler segment has seen some added activity in recent times. There has been a notable exodus from ICE to EV vehicles, particularly with the constant rise in fuel prices.
Extensive efforts to set up charging stations at strategic spots across the country has also seen some added interest in this segment. The recently concluded EV India Expo 2021 had a large number of more established and newcomers into the electric two wheeler makers in attendance.
GT Force At India EV Expo 2021
GT-Force, the flagship brand of Houstan Innovations LLP, headquartered at Manesar, Haryana was in attendance at the recently concluded EV India Expo 2021 held at India Expo Centre, Greater Noida. The electric two wheeler maker showed off 3 products among which there were 2 electric scooters and 1 a Prototype Motorcycle. The two scooters are in the low speed and high speed segments and is a part of the brand’s endeavour to introduce sustainable and eco-friends means of private transportation.
The company that operates from the headquarters based in Haryana has a distribution channel of 100+ dealerships across 80 cities in India, more specifically in the states of Maharashtra, Karnataka, Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Rajasthan. Plans are afoot to expand dealerships to 150+ in the current financial year.
GT Force Electric Motorcycle and Scooters at 2021 EV Expo India
GT-Force – Three new electric two wheeler
GT-Force showed off three new electric two wheelers at EV India Expo 2021. These include two scooters – GT Drive and GT Drive Pro, along with an Electric Motorcycle prototype. These are all set to be introduced as high end, high speed electric vehicles which will come in with special styling and state of the art technology.
GT Drive Pro is in the low speed category. It is ideally suited for short distance travel and can cover a distance of 75 km on single charge with a top speed of 25 km/h. The scooter comes in with both LEAD acid and Lithium ion battery options.
GT Drive is a high speed e-scooter going up to a top speed of 60 km/h. It gets a drive range of 150 kms on single charge and is offered exclusively with Lithium ion batteries. GT Drive gets three drive modes of economy, standard and turbo. It also comes with a cruise control system. This higher range and top speed breaks the misconception in buyer’s minds that electric vehicles are not ideally suited for long distance travel, thus proving inconvenient.
The company also revealed a prototype of a yet unnamed electric motorcycle which will be launched in India by the end of 2022. GT Force has quite a few products in the e-scooter segment under the brand name and plans to expand their range with three new products as a part of the company’s endeavour to offer clean and green eco-friendly, high quality and affordable products to this new and emerging segment of buyers in the country. New TVS Apache 165 RP Makes More Power Than Yamaha R15 – Specs

New TVS Apache 165 RPMore models are expected to make debuts in the RP range based on other Apache models
Recently, TVS launched the race-spec version of Apache RTR 160 with an increased engine displacement and stiffer riding dynamics. Priced at Rs 1.45 lakh (ex-showroom), the new Apache RTR 165 RP is the first bike under the ‘Race Performance (RP)’ brand of motorcycles from TVS.
Apache RTR 165 RP will be a special edition model limited to only 200 units across the country. The RP range of motorcycles will cater to enthusiastic riders only for whom performance is the biggest universal selling point. The bike features the same mechanical configurations used by the company’s race-spec motorcycle.
Engineered on the racetrack, Apache RTR 165 RP is inspired by the TVS Racing Group C GP 165R. Ridden by K. Jagan, this motorcycle has won the INMRC championship nine times.
Apart from revised mechanical configurations, the new bike also gets a new paint scheme and body graphics in order to distinguish itself from its standard sibling. In fact, the livery is in line with the GP 165R used on race tracks. Below is a comparison between Apache 165 RP vs Yamaha R15.
New TVS Apache 165 RP vs Apache 160 vs Yamaha R15 V4 Vs R15 S
    Updates in Powertrain
Starting with its powertrain, RTR 165 RP is powered by a heavily reworked 164.9cc, four-valve, single-cylinder engine that dishes out 19.2 bhp at 10,000rpm and 14.2 Nm of peak torque at 8,750rpm. For reference, its sibling RTR 160 4V makes 17.5 bhp at 9,250rpm and 14.73 Nm of torque at 7,250rpm. The motor is paired with a 5-speed gearbox via a slipper clutch.
The increased output has been achieved thanks to a revised cylinder head with a 35 percent higher airflow port and 15 percent bigger valves. Further, the bore-stroke ratio has been revised to 1.37 for the engine to rev freely up to 10,000rpm. A new dome piston has been used to achieve a higher compression ratio.
    Updated Dynamics
The tweaked dynamics involve a stiffer double-cradle synchro chassis that increases stability by up to 25 percent. While it misses out on an adjustable suspension setup, the floating piston shock absorber at rear sourced from Showa has been race-tuned for compression and rebound damping. Braking has been improved with a new 240mm disc at rear.
The bike rolls on race-spec ProtorQ SR radial tyres sourced from Eurogrip which offer better grip around corners. Another crucial update includes adjustable clutch and brake levers. At 148kg, RTR 165 RP weighs 2 kilos more than the rear disc brake variant of RTR 160 4V. TVS could introduce RP edition models based on other Apache models in the future as well. More
