Ola Electric Scooters Delivery Rate Slow – 275 Delivered Till Dec 2021

Ola Electric Scooter Delivery Rate Slower Than PromisedOla Electric Numbers Continue To Create Doubts – Questions Raised About Bookings, Deliveries, Features And Range
Even though Ola Electric has commenced deliveries of its S1 and S1 Pro electric scooters, the company continues to face criticism on various fronts. Earlier, some customers who got their deliveries had shared the problems they faced.
Now questions are being raised about numbers related to deliveries and registrations. These don’t appear to match claims made by the company earlier. Bringing more transparency in consumer-related matters can help Ola Electric build that much needed trust and confidence.
In a tweet shared by Vinkesh Gulati (President, Federation of Automobile Dealers Association), questions have been raised about actual purchase numbers and total registrations. Actual registration numbers of Ola electric scooter till January 3, 2022 was less than 300. This is creating confusion, as to what is actually happening.
    Ola’s update on deliveries
On December 31, Ola Electric CEO Bhavish Aggarwal had stated on Twitter that Ola electric scooters have been dispatched to all customers. While most have reached delivery centres, some are in transit or awaiting RTO registration process. There was some delay in registrations, as Ola is following an entirely digital process. This was something new for all stakeholders involved.
    Ola Electric Scooter Delivery Update
It is possible that registration numbers may increase in January 2022. Ola Electric is following an entirely new system of sales, deliveries and after-sales services. The company isn’t operating the standard dealership network.
Instead, sales are entirely online and the scooters will be delivered to customers at their address. After-sales services will be similar to onsite services currently available for appliances, electronic items, etc.
Option to upgrade to S1 Pro
Ola recently announced that all S1 customers will be able to upgrade to S1 Pro. What Ola is essentially doing is that S1 scooters are being delivered with the same hardware as that of S1 Pro. It includes the larger battery pack. However, S1 users will be able to access the additional features and range only after they pay upgrade charges of Rs 30k. This makes the price the same as that of S1 Pro.

As @OlaElectric begins deliveries, it’s big promises are being put to test. The co says 4,000 scooters dispatched, but only 275 have been delivered to date. Customers also question its promise of 181km range vs the real world range of 135km under specific conditions@Parikshitl pic.twitter.com/hLGaPgTHvC
    — CNBC-TV18 (@CNBCTV18News) January 3, 2022

Users who choose the upgrade option will be getting the new features and longer range activated via an OTA update. S1 Pro offers premium features such as faster charging, higher top speed, faster acceleration, hill hold assist, cruise control and Hyper mode.
From consumer’s perspective, the upgrade option appears to be a bit flawed. Although they are getting a larger capacity battery pack, they will be able to use only part of it. Riding around with a heavier battery and not able to unlock its full power is likely to adversely impact things like range, acceleration and top speed.
Along with efforts to streamline deliveries, Ola Electric is also working to expand its charging infrastructure. During 2022, around 4k charging stations are expected to go live. Most of these are being set-up at Bharat Petroleum fuel stations and residential complexes. As a bonus, Ola is offering free charging for S1 and S1 Pro users till June 2022. More

2022 Honda CB300R BS6 Specs Leak Ahead Of Launch

Image – Technical DocksUnlike the BS4 model that was imported as CKD, new Honda BS6 CB300R will be manufactured locally
With growing preference for 200cc-500cc motorcycles, Honda will be bringing back its popular CB300R. Launch is expected in January 2022. This will be the smallest capacity bike in Honda’s big bikes range in India. CB300R was launched in 2019, but was discontinued when stricter emission norms came into effect.
    Honda BS6 CB300R details
As revealed at India Bike Week 2021, 2022 Honda CB300R is largely the same as BS4 model. Some key features include retro-style round headlamp, flat and wide handlebar, exposed frame, rugged-styled engine guard, sculpted fuel tank, split seat, and chunky upswept exhaust. New BS6 CB300R gets golden USD forks, which significantly enhances its sporty character. In comparison, the BS4 model had USD forks in metallic shade.
New CB300R continues with the blacked-out look and feel. This theme is evident with the blacked-out parts such as headlamp casing, engine, frame and alloy wheels. Exhaust comes in an exciting contrast of black with chrome accents.
It is possible that colour options could be updated for new Honda CB300R. BS4 model was available in colour options of Candy Chromosphere Red and Matte Axis Grey Metallic. Another key change could be a new LCD multifunction meter. It could be a lighter, slimmer unit as compared to that of BS4 model. A new range of Bluetooth-based connectivity features could be on offer as well.
    2022 Honda CB300R BS6 – Specs
    2022 Honda CB300R BS6 Specs
New CB300R will use the same engine as earlier, which has been updated to comply with BS6 emission norms. In its BS4 format, the bike was powered by a 286cc liquid cooled motor. It generates 30.4 hp of max power at 8,000 rpm and 27.4 Nm of peak torque at 6,500 rpm. In its BS6 format, the engine delivers max power of 22.9 kW / 30.7 hp @ 9,000 rpm. It is mated to a 6-speed multiplate wet clutch transmission.
Responsive, free-revving profile of the engine ensures that it can suit the needs of both urban commutes and highway cruising. The engine is equipped with a counter-balancer, which further enhances overall ride experience.
The bike utilizes a lightweight, yet strong steel chassis, integrated with USD forks at front and monoshock rear suspension. It has 17-inch wheels at both ends, shod with 110/70 front and 150/60 rear tyre. Braking duties are performed by 296 mm disc at front and 220 mm disc at rear. Dual-channel ABS is offered as standard.
    2022 Honda CB300R BS6
By manufacturing the bike locally, Honda should be able to launch BS6 CB300R at a competitive price point. Just before BS4 model was discontinued, the bike was available at Rs 2.41 lakh. BS6 CB300R will continue to rival the likes of KTM 390 Duke (~ Rs 2.87 lakh) and BMW G310R (~ Rs 2.60 lakh).
Just like its predecessor, new Honda CB300R will be sold via the company’s Big Wing outlets. It will have a better reach now, as Honda is working to expand Big Wing dealership network across India. This is part of the company’s plan to aggressively target the middleweight motorcycle segment. 2022 KTM 390 ADV Modified With Rally Tower – Render In 2 Colours

2022 KTM 390 ADV Modified With Rally TowerNew rally kit for 390 Adventure developed by Turtletechx can significantly boost off-roading capabilities
Austrian bikemaker KTM recently unveiled its updated ADV range including 390 Adventure. The bike gets cosmetic improvements as well as functional updates that make it a better off-roader. For enhanced rally-oriented ride dynamics, aftermarket firm Turtletechx is developing a unique Rally Tower for KTM Adventure. The kit is being developed with collaboration with various other entities.
KTM 390 ADV rally kit details
Rally kit for 390 Adventure ensures a Dakar-styled transformation for the bike. Front section has undergone significant changes with increased height and addition of a large transparent windscreen. Headlamp bezel has also been customized. Based on the spyshots, digital automotive artist Pratyush Rout has created a render of the same in two colour options.
Handlebar and instrument console are mounted higher, which should ensure improved ergonomics when riding the bike across extreme terrain. For engine protection, a bash plate is expected to be added in production model. It is likely that the kit will also include more robust suspension and braking system.
Rally kit 390 Adv can be seen with dual-purpose block pattern tyres. It is possible that option will be provided to choose knobby units for an enhanced rally experience. Exhaust has been changed too, which looks similar to the one used with Husqvarna Svartpilen 250.
2022 KTM 390 ADV Modified With Rally Tower
Overall silhouette of this 390 ADV rally kit looks familiar to KTM 450 Rally, a bike that the company utilizes exclusively for Dakar Rally. It has been quite successful, registering nine continuous wins at Dakar from 2011 to 2019. KTM bikes are among the most successful bikes at Dakar. The rally kit may not have similar capabilities, but it is likely to perform better in an off-road environment.
In terms of more improvements that can be introduced, the rally kit will work out much better with standard spoke wheels. As compared to alloys, spoke wheels are considered much better for off-roading. Dakar winners like KTM 450 Rally and Honda CRF 450 Rally are all equipped with spoke wheels.
KTM 390 Adv rally kit engine
Most of the hardware will be the same as that of current 390 Adventure. The bike is powered by a 373cc liquid cooled, single cylinder engine that churns out 43 hp of max power and 37 Nm of peak torque. It is coupled with a 6-speed gearbox.
Stock 390 Adventure utilizes steel trellis frame with 43 mm WP APEX USD front forks and WP APEX monoshock at rear. The bike has 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels shod with dual-purpose tyres. Braking duties are performed by BYBRE 320mm and 230mm disc at front and rear, respectively. Dual-channel ABS from BOSCH is offered as standard.
Turtletechx is currently testing its fourth prototype, as part of its beta testing program. Pre orders for KTM Adventure Rally Tower are expected to commence soon. It is likely to be priced at a premium in comparison to the current model. KTM 390 Adventure is available at a starting price of Rs 3.28 lakh (ex-showroom). More
