BMW G 310 RR China Launch Soon – Will Be Exported From India

BMW G 310 RR is the smallest and cheapest of BMW’s RR range of motorcycles worldwideNew BMW G 310 RRBMW Motorrad recently launched the G 310 RR in India. It is based on the TVS Apache RR 310. We were expecting the German brand to make some changes to the looks, to create a unique identity for the baby RR.But instead, what we got was a BMW branded TVS Apache RR 310 with some TVS proprietary features deleted for an addition of Rs. 20,000 to 35,000 depending on variants. With the G 310 RR, BMW has expanded its popular 310cc portfolio to new heights while reaching new customers in a significantly lower price bracket than their indigenous products.BMW Motorrad has sold 50,000 units of their 310cc range globally, of which 15,000 units are clocked from India alone – making it their biggest 310cc market. China comes next with 6,000 unit sales. To improve sales further, BMW is going to launch the G 310 RR in China.BMW G310RR Export to ChinaChina is an important market for BMW Motorrad. G 310 RR is expected to do really well in Dragon land. But the BMW G310RR is manufactured here in India by TVS in Hosur plant, Chennai as part of a collaboration between the two.2022 BMW G310RR India LaunchMarkus Mueller-Zambre, head of Asia, China, Pacific and Africa region at BMW Motorrad, said that BMW G 310 RR exports from India will start with the Chinese market. China is the second market where the baby RR will be launched after India, as it is manufactured here. The China launch will happen in the coming months. He also added that BMW G 310 RR will only be manufactured in India at TVS manufacturing facility and the bikes sold in China will be exported from Chennai.Specs & CompetitionAs BMW G310RR is just a rebranded TVS Apache RR 310, all the dimensions remain the same too. It measures 2,001 mm in length, 786 mm in width, 1,135 mm in height and has a 1,365 mm long wheelbase. It tips the scale at 174 kg and has a relatively accessible 810 mm seat height. In terms of performance, it puts out 33.52 bhp of power at 9,700 RPM and 27.3 Nm of torque at 7,700 RPM. It gets a 300 mm disc at front and a 240 mm disc at the rear connected by a dual-channel ABS system. Both BMW and TVS get USD forks at front finished in gold colour and a mono-shock at the rear. But it is the TVS Apache RR 310 that gets an option to upgrade to fully adjustable front and rear suspension by WP. This upgrade, along with others, are offered under TVS’ brilliant BTO packages.BMW G310RR competes against KTM RC 390, Kawasaki Ninja 300 and TVS Apache RR 310 in India. In China, KTM still puts up a tough fight against BMW’s new baby RR. As KTM products are licensed to manufacture by CF Moto, a Chinese motorcycle manufacturing giant, in China and products like RC 390 exist. It would be interesting to see how many G 310 RR will be exported to China from India in Q2 of 2023. In related news, BMW is also expected to launch its CE 04 electric maxi-scooter in India.Source More

Honda 300cc Adventure Spied In India – Himalayan, 390 ADV Rival?

Honda CRF300L will get tough off-road components and 285 mm ground clearance to sustain any terrainImage for referenceCurrently, Honda India is the second-highest selling two-wheeler brand in India as seen in our retail sales chart for the month of June 2022. Honda sold 2,85,691 units in June 2022 as opposed to 1,96,785 units in June 2021 with 45.18% YoY growth. The Japanese brand currently has a 25.53% market share in the month of June 2022.Honda is set to launch a new vehicle in India on 8th of August 2022. In the teaser, Honda announced that the “Formidable” is arriving in India. The word formidable made us think that it will be the Forza maxi-scooter with either a 125cc, 150cc, or 350cc powertrain. We have covered Forza maxi-scooters in detail in a previous post.Honda CRF300L Spotted In IndiaBut Honda is making the news again as a CRF300L has been spotted in a showroom in India. Honda’s CRF range refers to the brand’s motocross and dual-sport motorcycles that are built for most trails or terrains mother Earth can throw at it. They are very popular among off-road enthusiasts worldwide. We have heard about the CRF190L that is rumoured to launch in India competing against Hero XPulse 200 4V that recently got a new Rally Edition variant and a Rally Kit too. But the CRF300L being spotted at a Honda dealership in India certainly raises questions.Honda CRF300L 300cc ADV spied in IndiaHonda did a similar thing back in 2020 when they displayed a Forza 300 maxi-scooter at a BigWing dealership in Gurgaon. Four units were also sold to the public too. Maybe this is a similar drill where they want to gain market opinion and feedback regarding a product or a product category.Honda CRF300L is a handsome-looking machine for off-road purists and it gets a purposeful design too. It gets a motocross-style body along with a small squared-off headlight, up-swept exhaust, engine guard, and more. Honda CRF300L gets a 21” spoked wheel at front and an 18” spoked wheel at the rear like XPulse 200 4V and are shod with knobby tires.Specs & CompetitionIt gets non-adjustable Showa long-travel 43 mm USD forks at front and prolink suspension at the rear carving out a massive 285 mm of ground clearance. Front disc brake is 256 mm and the rear disc is 220 mm in diameter. It gets regular halogen bulbs all around and a modern LCD dashboard for instrumentation. The engine displaces 286 cc and makes 27 bhp of power and 26.6 Nm of torque. It gets a slip assist clutch and a 6-speed gearbox too. Honda CRF300L weighs around 142 kg and has a tall seat height of 880 mm. Honda has even patented the motorcycle in India.Honda CRF300L patented in IndiaWe are not sure what is the purpose of this CRF300L in India. But, if Honda ever launches it in India, it will be a strong opponent to the XPulse 200 4V Rally Edition for extreme off-roading. Because lightness is the key factor in off-roading rather than outright speed and power. In this regard, CRF300L is more powerful and at the same time, is also lighter than XPulse 200 4V Rally Edition. If we look at hardcore competitors, we have imports like Kawasaki KX and KLX series of motocross bikes with either 250 or 450 cc engines.Other competitors for softcore trail riding and other terrains, it can be comparable to Royal Enfield Himalayan, Yezdi Adventure, and KTM 390 Adventure. We can see a steep price for CRF300L if it launches in India on August 8th instead of Forza maxi-scooter.Source More

New EVeium Electric Scooters Launch Price Rs 1.44 L – Up To 150 Km Range

EVeium electric scooter range starts from Rs. 1.44 lakh to 2.16 lakh (ex-sh) and bookings start from August 8 for Rs. 999New Comet Electric ScooterEVeium is a, well, EV scooter startup brand that is a subsidiary brand of Ellysium Automotives, the Auto arm of United Arab Emirates-based company META4 Group. They have launched three new electric scooters in India where electric two-wheeler sales are rising. The price range for EVeium starts from Rs. 1.44 lakh (ex-sh) and goes all the way up to Rs. 2.14 lakh (ex-sh). The EV startup hasn’t yet revealed where they are sourcing their EV components from. Govt enquiry has revealed that some startups source their EV components from China. These are not designed for India and use low-quality components resulting in EV fire hazards.Cosmo Electric Scooter Price Rs. 1.44 lakh (ex-sh)EVeium Cosmo doesn’t take sharp lines or cuts and creases which is a good thing as it works in its favour. It is a step-through scooter that enhances practicality with a flat footboard. It gets a disc brake at the front too.Cosmo gets a top speed of 65 kph while covering only 80 km on a single charge. EVeium has equipped Cosmo with a 72V and 30ah Li-ion battery which translates to a 2.16 kWh battery. Cosmo gets a 2,000W (2.72 bhp) motor and comes in colour options of Bright Black, Cherry Red, Lemon Yellow, White, Blue and Grey.EVeium Cosmo Electric ScooterComet Electric Scooter Price Rs. 1.92 lakh (ex-sh)Right off the bat, EVeium Comet looks a lot cleaner than Cosmo. Comet looks like it rides on a larger wheel size too and gets the same disc as Cosmo. It looks a little retro in appeal too. Comet gets a top speed of 85 kph and can cover a claimed 150 km on a single charge.EVeium Comet Electric ScooterEVeium has equipped Comet with a larger 72V and 50ah Li-ion battery which translates to 3.6 kWh. Comet gets a 3,000W (4.02 bhp) motor and comes with Shiny Black, Matt Black, Wine Red, White, Royal Blue and Beige.Czar – Rs. 2.14 lakh (ex-sh)Czar also gets a top speed of 85 kph and can cover the same 150 km range as the Comet but from a smaller 3.02 kWh Li-ion battery. Comet also gets a 4,000W (5.36 bhp) that will sip more battery. Despite the smaller battery and powerful motor, the range is still 150 km, which is weird. In terms of design though, It has a lot more retro vibes than the Comet and gets a complete monotone shade to choose from Glossy Black, Matt Black, Glossy Red, Light Blue, Mint Green, and White.EVeium Czar Electric ScooterEVeium electric scooters come with a host of features like, multiple Speed Modes (Eco, Normal and Sport), keyless Start, anti-theft, LCD Display, regenerative braking, smartphone connectivity, find my vehicle, over-speed Alert, geofencing and more. Comet and Czar are the only variants to get the reverse drive option.Startup brand EVeium claims that all the models can be fully charged in 4 hours, but the charging power is not specified. Also, charging time is the same 4 hrs for all models, which should have been lesser for Czar and Cosmos with a smaller battery. The prices quoted by EVeium can be reduced further with the Government’s FAME II scheme. Mainstream manufacturers like Bajaj, TVS are making e-scooters and well-established startups like Ola, Ather, Ampere and Okinawa are catching up. Among above-mentioned brands and others, we have to see how EVeium fares as all its competitors cost significantly lesser and offer a lot more. More

Royal Enfield Meteor 350 Prices July 2022 – Costlier By Up To Rs 5k

In CY2022, Royal Enfield Meteor 350 prices have been raised twice and decreased once; this is the third price hike this yearNew Royal Enfield Meteor 350Likely due to rise in input costs, Royal Enfield has increased prices of Meteor 350 in July. Prices have been increased by up to Rs 5,000. In percentage terms, prices have been increased in the range of 1.3% to 2.29%. Latest round of price hike does not bring any changes or updates for the bike. While the price difference may seem substantial, it is unlikely to impact sales of Meteor 350. It is currently the second bestselling 350cc motorcycle from Royal Enfield. In overseas markets, it has surpassed Classic 350 to become the most exported Royal Enfield bike. A total of 3,487 units were exported in June 2022.Meteor 350 new prices July 2022Price increase varies based on the variant. New price of Meteor 350 Fireball Red / Yellow / Blue / Matt Green variants is Rs 2,05,844. That’s an increase of Rs 3,591, as compared to June prices. Stellar Blue / Red / Black variants’ new price is Rs 2,11,924, an increase of Rs 4,591.Stellar Pure Black Custom is now priced at Rs 2,11,924, an increase of Rs 2,754. Supernova Brown / Blue / Red variants get costlier by Rs 4,592; new price is Rs 2,22,061. With this latest price hike, the earlier price reduction benefit of Rs 5,000 has largely been cancelled out.New Royal Enfield Meteor 350 Prices July 2022As may be recalled, Royal Enfield had slashed prices of Meteor 350 by Rs 5k, which was effective from May 01, 2022. The price reduction was made possible by removing Tripper navigation as a standard feature. It was classified as an optional feature that users could choose through Royal Enfield’s MIY configurator.Along with Meteor, the same approach was also deployed for Himalayan. It was a consumer-friendly move, as Tripper navigation is not a feature that everyone needs. By making Tripper navigation an optional feature, Royal Enfield was also able to cope up with shortage of semiconductor chips. It ensured that users who needed Tripper could get their bikes delivered in the shortest possible time.New Royal Enfield Meteor 350 VariantEarlier this year in April, Royal Enfield had increased prices of Meteor 350 in the range of Rs 2-4k. Starting price for Meteor in April was Rs 2.05 lakh for Fireball Red / Yellow variants. Three new colours were also introduced for the bike – Fireball Blue, Fireball Matt Green and Supernova Red.
