2023 Yamaha XMax 300cc Scooter Spied – Honda Forza Rival

In terms of exterior design, the XMax 300 test mule spotted overseas appears largely the same as current model2023 Yamaha XMax 300ccAs there’s hardly any difference in the skin, it’s likely that Yamaha may be focusing on upgrading the equipment list offered with XMax 300. For example, some new features could be introduced. Another possibility is a new variant, but it’s too early to accurately define such possibilities. Some key features of Yamaha XMax 300 maxi-scooter include an aggressive front fascia, full LED lighting, large windscreen, comfortable riding stance, step-up seat, chunky exhaust and large underseat storage. XMax 300 is preferred for its powerful performance and agile handling, all while offering the comforts typically associated with a scooter.2023 Yamaha XMax 300 to get quieter exhaust? While it’s not clear why XMax 300 is out there on road tests, it may have something to do with upcoming European Union noise restrictions. The official EU statement says that the existing Euro 5 noise limits will be revised and implemented as a separate act. The quantum of changes in noise limit and when exactly it will be implemented is yet to be finalized. However, as OEMs work in a proactive manner, Yamaha may have started working on the exhaust note of XMax 300 even before the new rules are enforced. XMax 300 currently has a throaty exhaust note, which may not comply with the new noise limits. Updated Euro 5 noise limits may take some time to implement, as OEMs and their suppliers will need to make multiple changes. Subsequently, these will need to be tested for reliability and performance in addition to the compliance part.2023 Yamaha XMax 300ccA cost-benefit analysis for different sound levels and their associated practicality and efficacy is currently being evaluated by the European Association of Motorcycle Manufacturers (ACEM). As per existing Euro 5 regulations, motorcycles with 175cc engines and above are required to have a noise limit of 80 decibels.Focus is on two-wheelers, as these are among the major contributors to noise pollution. European Union wants to have quieter cities, which is where the revised noise limits will be playing a crucial role. Enforcement of the new noise limit rules will be done with the help of noise radars that are already functional in European cities like Paris.2023 XMax 300 specs unchangedWhile the upcoming version of XMax 300 may be quieter, there are unlikely to be any major changes to the hardware. It may be possible to comply with updated Euro 5 noise limits just by introducing some changes to the exhaust setup. Yamaha XMax 300 is powered by a 292cc, liquid cooled motor that generates 28 PS of max power at 7,250 rpm and 29 Nm of peak torque at 5,750 rpm. It is mated to a V-belt automatic transmission.Suspension system comprises telescopic forks at front and swingarm unit at rear. Both ends have disc brakes, 267 mm front and 245 mm rear. Other key features of Yamaha XMax 300 include traction control system (TCS), smart key with remote locking, 12V outlet at front and white-on-black LCD instrument console. Upon launch, 2023 Yamaha XMax 300cc will take on the Honda Forza 300.Source More

Royal Enfield Himalayan 462cc Delivers 34 Hp – 129 Kmph Cruising Speed

A trusty off-roader, Himalayan gets all the better with tons of aftermarket components added in this customization projectRoyal Enfield Himalayan 462ccOn journeys that require both cruising and off-roading capabilities, one of the most affordable options is Royal Enfield Himalayan. Even for hardcore enthusiasts who may find Himalayan a bit lacking in performance, the bike doesn’t disappoint, as it can be easily upgraded owing to its simple architecture. In a recent example, YouTuber Motos Cades & Coffee has come up with some major modifications on his 2019 Himalayan. The bike has been upgraded to make the 1,000+ mile ride from Maryland (US) to Prince Edward Island (Canada) a lot more fun and comfortable. While Himalayan could have attempted this journey in its stock form, the upgraded customized version seems more apt for this trip.Royal Enfield Himalayan 462cc – 34 HP, 80 mph cruisingThis customization project focuses on achieving the best of both worlds, i.e., agility and high speed cruising power along with ample torque to conquer challenging off-road tracks. With the use of multiple aftermarket components, this customized Himalayan delivers around 34 horsepower. That’s a good 10 hp more than the stock version that makes 24.3 bhp and 32 Nm. This customized Himalayan could be pretty close to matching the performance of upcoming Himalayan 450.List of upgrades using aftermarket components is pretty long. It must have taken several days for getting everything up and running in a synchronized manner. Modified Himalayan has already been taken on road tests and performance is way better than the stock version.[embedded content][embedded content]Royal Enfield Himalayan 462cc can quickly reach cruising speed of 80 miles per hour (129 kmph) and sustain that without any issues. The bike will be put to even more gruelling tests to find its ultimate endurance limit.Upgrades for 34hp HimalayanA number of components come from Hitchcocks Motorcycles, for example, 462 cc Big Bore Kit, performance camshaft and Straight Flow Air Intake. The big bore kit comprises a new, larger cylinder barrel with English made forged piston. It is designed to fit Himalayan’s crankcase and does not require any machining. What the big bore kit essentially does is that it converts the stock 411 cc Himalayan to 462 cc.Hitchcocks performance camshaft works to maximise performance, all while remaining within the limits of standard ECU parameters. It is available for both Himalayan as well as Scram. For bikes with carburettor, the performance camshaft may require some manual fine tuning. Other upgrades for the bike include K&N Open Air element filter that has been used in combination with Hitchcocks Straight Flow Air Intake. These allow improved air flow, which in turn boosts performance.Another key upgrade is Powertronic custom and tuneable ECU system. It delivers a range of benefits such as smooth power delivery, quicker throttle response and enhanced power output. Powertronic ECU has been dyno-tested for delivering increased power output of 3-5 bhp. Other modifications include Powertronic FuelX Autotune Pro, PowerRage slip-on exhaust, heavy duty clutch and clutch springs, 15-tooth front sprocket and heavy duty DID chain and rear sprocket. More

New Honda Electric Scooters, Motorcycles – 10 EV Launches By 2025

Honda is currently not selling any EVs or flex fuel products in India which is set to change starting from 2023Image for illustration purpose. With just 85 units short, Honda India lost to Hero MotoCorp in overall (domestic+export) sales in August 2022. Both companies are also branching out to incorporate EVs into their portfolio. Hero is likely to launch its Vida branded electric scooter by the end of this year and Honda has revealed that it will launch an electric scooter in 2023.Honda is launching 10 new electric 2W vehicles or more by the end of 2025. These 10 or more EVs are to include a wide variety of segments. Not just that, alongside these 10 EVs, Honda will also launch flex-fuel motorcycles as soon as 2023. India is also under radar for some of these offerings. Let’s take a look.Honda New LaunchesHonda is launching 10 new electric 2W vehicles or more by the end of 2025. This is Honda’s plan toward an EV future and attaining carbon neutrality. Coming from Honda, this is big news as this motorcycle is arguably the most influential motorcycle company in the world.Honda has teamed up with other three Japanese “Big 4” (Kawasaki, Suzuki and Yamaha) into a consortium in 2019 towards a uniform standard for batteries, charging stations and a few other EV components. This will significantly bring usability and ease for general consensus. For example, Apple sticking to lightning ports on few of their products is just a pain in the wrong place for everyone.Honda New Fun EVsThe Japanese brand also has a similar consortium regarding swappable battery standards with brands from the old continent like Piaggio and KTM. Honda’s 10 or more new EVs will be offered in the form of mopeds and bicycles, commuters and “fun” EVs. These models will be launched between now and 2025 with a few mopeds, bicycles and commuters to see the light of the day first.Honda New EVs Global LineupHonda has big ambitions of at least 1 million unit sales by 2025 and 3.5 million unit sales by 2030. With proper planning and marketing, Honda is likely to achieve its roadmap. Honda is calling its powertrain and control units Monozukuri and is likely to spawn on these upcoming EVs.Flex Fuel BikesSome of these EVs will also make it to India. One of them will be an electric scooter which is likely to get Activa in its name. Honda India recently patented a hub motor in India which is likely to fall on this product and future products too. In terms of batteries, Honda is likely to push swappable battery tech both here in India and globally.Honda New Launches – EV PowertrainHonda’s “fun” EVs are less likely to be launched in India though. Also, electric mopeds and bicycles are a lot more feasible for India. Honda is working on solid-state batteries that have superior battery chemistry and are also known to be safer. But mass-producing solid-state batteries are the only thing that is a fly in the ointment.Coming to flex fuel bikes, India is likely to be under Honda’s radar as we already use 10% ethanol blended fuels. These flex fuel bikes will be able to run on 20% ethanol and by 2025, Honda might also develop engines that can run on 100% ethanol too. India is set to roll out 20% ethanol blend fuels in select states in 2023. More

Harley Davidson ADV Motorcycle Gets A Price Cut Of Rs 4 Lakh

Harley-Davidson aims to bring almost all of its model lineup to India and in that regard, we also get Pan America ADVHarley Davidson Pan AmericaHarley-Davidson has been the most iconic American motorcycle company in the world. Okay, Indian Motorcycles exist. Still, Harley-Davidson has its own charm. It has a cult following even today and has spawned thousands of custom choppers by modders too. Harley-Davidson is seen with high regard when it comes to cruisers around the world. But there is rising popularity in ADVs and for a good reason. Just like SUVs are getting more popular among cars. Even manufacturers like Lamborghini, Ferrari, Bentley and Aston Martin make SUVs now. Sticking with ADVs, they can do most things that genre-specific motorcycles can only dream of. Touring, cruising, trail-riding, even off-roading? No problemo for ADVs.Harley Davidson has set its foot into EV world with models like LiveWire and others. With Hero MotoCorp backing the American brand in India, Harley-Davidson has managed to do a lot better in FY2022 over FY2021. The Milwaukee based company even sold out its new electric offering S2 Del Mar in just 18 minutes.Harley-Davidson Pan AmericaTo cater to this rising ADV popularity, Harley-Davidson launched Pan America. This is Harley’s first ever ADV who has been only manufacturing big, brawny V-twin cruisers till now. With changing times, Harley-Davidson, as a company, has grown longer in its tooth and has been branching out to cater to various genres.Harley Davidson Pan AmericaPan America ADV came with a new Revolution Max engine that is only offered with Pan America (1,250cc) and Bronx Streetfighter (975cc). This engine is a lot more performant than the company’s Milwaukee-Eight engine range. Even though it displaces almost as much as an Evolution engine, Revolution Max, like its name suggests, is a revolution to the max in terms of Harley-Davidson engines.Pan America ADV was on sale in India as well and got two variants. Standard and Special. Pan America Standard was priced at Rs. 16.90 lakh (ex-sh) and Pan America Special was priced at Rs. 21.11 lakh (ex-sh). But if we look at 500cc+ sales charts, Pan America has been a hard sell. Especially in 2022. Hence the company has slashed Pan America prices by Rs. 4 lakh. Effectively, Pan America Standard now costs 12.91 lakh (ex-sh) and Pan America Special now costs 17.11 lakh. With new pricing, Harley-Davidson aims to sell more units in India.Specs & CompetitionHarley-Davidson Pan America comes with a 60-degree V-twin Revolution Max engine that displaces 1,252cc while generating 150 bhp at 8,750 RPM and 128 Nm of torque at 6,750 RPM. It is coupled with a 6-speed manual gearbox while Honda Africa Twin offers an option for a DCT automatic. Pan America ADV comes with a large 21L fuel tank for the long hauls. It weighs a hefty 258kg and can hit a top speed of 200 km/h.Pan America Special gets brawny points like a semi-active suspension, adaptive lights, TPMS, spoked 19” wheel at front and 17” at the rear and even gets an option of adaptive ride height as well. With new pricing, Pan America ADV Standard rivals BMW F850 GS, Triumph Tiger 900 and the likes. While Pan America Special rivals Honda Africa Twin, Triumph Tiger 1200, and the likes. Harley-Davidson Pan America seems to be a better priced motorcycle now. More
