2023 Yamaha R125 Debuts With New Design, TFT Display – KTM 125 Rival

Replacing the last gen body style, 2023 Yamaha R125 gets design inspired by R7 which is also seen on the R15 V42023 Yamaha R125With racing at its core, Yamaha has been pushing performance-oriented motorcycles ever since I can remember. Being one of the Japanese “Big Four”, Yamaha is known for its YZF-R series of sporty machines. Even though we don’t get the brilliant R6 anymore, Yamaha’s YZF-R range is still going strong with a huge cult following. In India, YZF-R15 V4 is a stellar example of a low-capacity supersport. Despite its hefty Rs. 1.8 lakh to Rs. 1.93 lakh price tag (ex-sh), R15 V4 sold just under 10,000 units in September 2022. Due to the absence of an equally specced rival from Suzuki and Honda, R15 V4 reigns its supremacy. Yamaha R125 is well-known too. From team Orange, we have RC 125 which costs Rs. 1.85 lakh in India and is also offered in Europe and other global markets. Due to its lightness, 125cc supersport machines pose as a brilliant beginner bike to step up a rider’s game in motorsport. To cater to this market, Yamaha Motor Europe has revealed 2023 YZF-R125.2023 Yamaha R125 DebutsWhen we lay down facts, we can all unanimously agree that R15 is quite a looker. It has a sharp fascia that is inspired by Yamaha’s big bikes. For a faired motorcycle, design forms a major deciding factor. It has to be right. Mistakes will lead to poor sales, something that is very evident in Suzuki Gixxer SF 150 and 250.[embedded content][embedded content]Yamaha hasn’t messed around with R15 V4’s design and has incorporated it into R125. Earlier, R125 used to get R15 V3’s body and was conveniently called R125 V3. With this update, R125 now gets stunning LED DRLs, reshaped bodywork and a bi-functional LED projector headlight that lends it a big bike appeal. Something which the target audience will not mind, one bit.Star of the show for new Yamaha R125 has to be its 5” TFT display that the company’s flagship R1 gets. This looks far more upmarket than previously offered LCD display. Based on riding situation, the rider can choose between ‘Street’ and ‘Track’ themes. This screen gets a lap timer, gear position indicator, smartphone connectivity via Bluetooth, and a lot more. Will this display make it to India-spec R15? Only time will tell.Specs & Features2023 Yamaha R125 gets traction control, slip and assist clutch, dual channel ABS and even an optional quick shifter. To offer more grip and extract the most out of this 125cc engine, Yamaha has offered Michelin Pilot Street tyres measuring 100/80-17 at front and 140/70-17 at the rear.Yamaha R125 New 5″ ScreenSpeaking of its engine, it is a 125cc EURO5-compliant engine that gets VVA (Variable Valve Actuation) as R15 V4 does. It makes 15 bhp at 9,000 RPM and 11.5 Nm at 8,000 RPM and is coupled to a 6-speed gearbox. Cycle parts include KYB 41mm USD forks at front and mono-shock at the rear.Dropping anchor on this track machine is 292 mm front disc and 220 mm rear disc. New Yamaha R125 gets radially mounted brake calipers. Pricing is likely to be revealed in 2023. It is not yet known if Yamaha intends to bring this to our shores. We wish they do. More

Meteor 650 Teased Officially – Will Be Revealed On Nov 8th

The same engine as Conti GT and Interceptor 650 will be offered – Meteor 650 teased officiallyMeteor 650 teased officiallyWith spy shots popping up every now and then, Royal Enfield seems to be under limelight all the time. We can’t blame them, though, as they’re prepping up 8 motorcycles to launch. You heard that right. 8! To list them all out, we have seen test mules of new-gen Bullet 350, Scram 450, Himalayan 450, Continental GT-R 650, Continental GT 650 facelift with alloy wheels, Meteor 650/Thunderbird X 650, Shotgun 650 and Scram 650.Out of breath already? Fret not. Royal Enfield is taking it slow to get these on the road officially. Meteor 650 teased officially is the first among these to come on stage. Speaking of stage, Meteor 650 will be unveiled at 2022 EICMA set to happen in Milan on November 8th.Meteor 650 Teased OfficiallyMost of the design is already revealed by innumerous spy shots. Despite that, Royal Enfield has only teased the rear section of Meteor 650. It gets a circular LED tail light that sits alone as its turn indicators are housed on either side of its rear number plate. This is exactly identical to Meteor 350.From the teaser, we can look at its curvaceous fuel tank that gracefully merges into the seat. A round offset instrument cluster is also visible in the teaser. This is the same analog-digital console that does duties on Meteor 350 too. Beside it, we get Royal Enfield’s Tripper navigation display as well.Royal Enfield Meteor 650cc SpiedThis tripper screen is likely to be an add-on. That being said, there’s a possibility that it would be standard fitment considering the expected Rs. 3.25+ lakh pricing. Another interesting development that can be extracted from Meteor 650 teased officially is its rear tyre. Which is Pirelli Phantom Sportscomp. We say it is interesting because test mules spotted in India were shod with Ceat Zoom Cruz tyres. Maybe it is only the posters and show vehicles that get Pirelli rubber.Specs & FeaturesMeteor 650 will get front USD forks and additional braces to position the forks perfectly. These aren’t present on Meteor 350. Headlight unit in the latest spy shots looks slightly different. Maybe RE is giving LED headlights. Maybe not. What is sure, though, is its immense road presence. Haathi doesn’t mind showing its curves, one bit.Propelling this massive motorcycle is a 648cc parallel-twin engine that generates 47 bhp of power at 7,150 RPM and 52 Nm of torque at 5,250 RPM. It is mated to a 6-speed constant mesh gearbox. RE will slightly tweak this engine to suit a cruiser’s character.Logically, the only competitor for Meteor 650/Thunderbird X 650 is Kawasaki Vulcan S. After EICMA, Meteor 650 will likely debut in India at 2022 Rider Mania held at Goa between 18th and 20th of November. More

New Xpulse 200T Fully Revealed – Walkaround Video

Earlier, 200T used to make 17.83 bhp and 16.15 Nm from its 199.6cc air/oil cooled engine and New Xpulse 200T 4V will make 18.8 bhp and 17.35 NmNew XPulse 200T 4VAt the pricier end of Hero’s motorcycle spectrum, we have XPulse and Xtreme series. Xtreme series consists of Xtreme 160R, a street fighter, and Xtreme 200S, a sports bike/sports tourer. Xpulse series consists of the rather brilliant XPulse 200 off-roader and XPulse 200T tourer.Soon, Hero will have much more capable flagships in the form of a 300cc to 400cc+ Xpulse off-roader, Xpulse tourer and an Xtreme sports bike/sports tourer. Until then, XPulse 200 series is the flagship. Hero is now gearing up to launch the New Xpulse 200T 4V to give it a refresh. This is that shot in the veins that Xpulse 200T needed as it was overshadowed by its off-roading sibling.New Xpulse 200T 4V WalkaroundLooks like Hero has given a thorough facelift for New Xpulse 200T 4V. Changes are not pretty significant. Yet, they make their presence known. Right off the bat, we can spot a new fly-screen that first made its debut on the Xpulse 200T Scrambler concept back in 2018. Headlamp assembly is still the same, but with this new fly-screen, it looks much sharper. Take a look at V8 Historia De Motores’s video below.Unlike the Scrambler concept, New Xpulse 200T 4V fly-screen will be body coloured as opposed to funky neon yellow. Front forks were exposed before. With the update, we can see fork gaiters that enhance the retro appeal along with fly-screen. Other visual changes include a belly pan. This was also present in the Scrambler concept.[embedded content][embedded content]Along with these, we also get a new grab rail made which is tube type, as opposed to rack-type unit shared with Xpulse 200 off-roader. Handlebars seem to be raised more than before that will certainly aid in touring comfort. Even though the changes are minor, they come together beautifully and lend the New Xpulse 200T 4V a brand-new look, especially with new dual-tone colour schemes.Specs & FeaturesHero MotoCorp is not making some design changes and calling it a day for this update. No, sir/ma’am. This is much more profound than that. This update will bring in the new 4V head that its off-road sibling received earlier this year. This will ensure better breathability and since the new valves are lighter, they’ll rev higher and see less wear and tear in the long run.Earlier, 200T used to make 17.83 bhp at 8,500 RPM and 16.15 Nm of torque at 6,500 RPM from its 199.6cc air/oil cooled engine. 200 4V off-roader makes 18.8 bhp at 8,500 RPM and 17.35 Nm at 6,500 RPM. These figures are likely to be translated to New Xpulse 200T 4V. Its oil-cooling radiator is enlarged too, just like Xpulse off-roader.New XPulse 200T 4VWith the off-roader, 4V head costs Rs. 10,000 more. 200T currently costs Rs. 1.24 lakh (ex-sh) and with this update, we can see pricing go till Rs. 1.34 (ex-sh). Launch is likely to happen very soon and will take on Honda Hornet 2.0 and the likes with respect to price. Features like Bluetooth connectivity will be retained with this update. More

Yamaha FZ-X Modified Adventure Motorcycle Is Off Road Ready

Looking at this FZ-X Off-Road version, it begs the question if this is what FZ-X should have been from day oneZero Customs Modded Yamaha FZ-XDo you want an affordable Japanese ADV? Well, get in line, because there are a lot of us that want to see something like that happen. One might say that Honda CB200X exists. When we compared that to Hero XPulse, an actual ADV, it falls short in capability. Credits where credits due, It is an absolute looker, though. From Suzuki, we have V-Strom 250 SX, which does a far better job than CB200X by offering at least one mechanical change over its Gixxer platform. Change in the form of a 19” front alloy wheel that will slightly enhance the trailing experience. Yamaha has been mum about this segment till now.Yamaha FZ-X Off-Road Version SpottedSeen in front of a Yamaha dealership, is an off-road version of FZ-X commuter. Before a chocolate laddu explodes in your mind, this is not a production-spec model. We apologise for bursting your short-lived bubble. It is what it is. Yamaha has kept most of its global products away from India. That being said, this tempting bike seems to be from Yamaha’s customisation challenge from last year. This was done by Zero Customs. There’s another custom bike standing in front of it. Only its tail is visible which pays tribute to classic bikes of yesteryear. It has a clean tail section and gets ribbed tyres that exude a classic bike feel.Zero Customs Modded Yamaha FZ-XHardware-wise, it gets a lot of bits from actual ADVs like Royal Enfield Himalayan and Hero XPulse 200. Himalayan’s tail-section is immediately recognisable. It gets Himalayan’s seats, taillights, grab-rail, rear fender and more. This Yamaha FZ-X Off-Road version is a far cry from what it originally was when it comes to off-road capability. Right off the bat, it gets wire-spoke wheels shod with knobby off-road tyres. Wheel sizes aren’t known, but we wouldn’t be surprised if it was the exact same wheels as XPulse or Himalayan.Suspension has been given an upgrade. Looking at the ground clearance, we can say for sure that it is far more lifted than what Yamaha originally intended. Suspension unit seems to be borrowed from XPulse as the front forks look similar. Speaking of front, FZ-X’s projector headlight setup is retained and now gets a windscreen that is from a Himalayan.Off-Road HardwareYamaha FZ-X Off-Road version retains its fuel tank which adds a lot of muscle. Front fenders, side body panels and handlebar look like they’re custom. We can also spot a tubular frame on either side of its headlight. This is designed to hold the headlight unit as it doesn’t turn with the handlebar. Just like a Himalayan.Yamaha FZ-X Off-Road SpottedEngine is likely to be stock. However, exhaust isn’t. It is a custom job to reroute exhaust from under the seat. Side saddles complete the look of an ADV. Finished off in a tangy orange shade, Yamaha FZ-X Off-Road version looks ravishing. More
