While LML manufactured ICE-powered vehicles throughout its existence, the company is now re-inventing itself as an EV brand. Given the EV potential in India, we would say that it is the logical step for LML.EV segment is still young in India and LML has a chance to establish itself among first hitters, going forward. We have seen multiple trademarks registered by LML in India. Now, we have got our hands on the first-ever spy shots of LML’s maiden electric scooter for India.Likely to be called Star, it is a good-looking product. Pretty much up there in the segment, we would say. Eye-catchy design is likely to be LML Star’s forte in India. Not just that, sources tell Rushlane that it will be accompanied by two more 2W EVs on its debut on September 29th. Let’s take a look.LML Star Electric Scooter SpiedLooks like LML Star will take a clean and minimalist design approach. The straight lines and clean body panels reflect the same. But at the same time, it looks futuristic enough to strike as an EV and not a conventional scooter. It looks like it has potential to appeal to a wider consensus and hence translate into wider reach.New LML Star Electric Scooter SpiedLML Star electric scooter gets an LED DRL at the front apron. It is of dot pattern consisting of larger individual LEDs. Headlight is placed on top of the DRL and looks like a round housing and can also pack a projector unit. The front apron is finished in glossy black and gives LML Star, a unique look. It gets a squarish digital display placed on top of its handlebar to show various info.LML has tastefully integrated red bits into the design to add some visual flair too. This red highlight is found in the horizontal strip below its single-piece seat and also on its split grab rails. LML Star spied on what looks like its assembly line. Hence some of its wirings are still disconnected. But styling elements include LED turn indicators. This is where LML Star body bulges slightly and neatly flows into its thick floorboard. Speaking of the floorboard, this is where LML Star’s battery is housed, keeping the centre of gravity low.Specs & FeaturesLML Star comes with front and rear disc brakes, front telescopic suspension and a rear mono-shock. It looks like it gets a mid-mounted electric motor and drives the rear wheel via a chain drive. Like conventional scooters, LML Star is likely to get a single-sided swingarm designed in the form of a CVT housing.LML Electric New Names Registered – LML Star and LML HyperbikeThere is a high probability of it getting a hub motor too. Floorboard looks thick which would offer a knees-up riding position. If the whole battery is housed here, buyers can expect a sizeable boot under the seat too. LML Star spied, gets 3-spoke design alloy wheels that appear to be 10” in size and shod with conventional rubber.At the rear, we can also see a tyre hugger that is likely to house its rear number plate to keep the design tidy. LML Star will debut alongside two other EVs on September 29. Of which one is likely to be called Hyperbike. Battery specs and performance numbers are not yet revealed by LML and so are the features.     Bajaj Sales Breakup Aug 2022 – Pulsar, Platina, CT, Avenger, Dominar

    Bajaj Auto domestic sales increased by 48.95 percent YoY while exports fell 36.50 percentImage – MRD VlogsBajaj Auto Limited has reported total sales (domestic + exports) at 3,41,083 units in August 2022, down from 3,29,877 units sold in August 2021. The two wheeler major has seen a 48.95 percent growth in domestic sales to 2,29,121 units in the past month, up from 1,53,828 units sold in August 2021 while exports dipped 36.40 percent from 1,76,049 units shipped in August 2021 to 1,11,962 units in August 2022.Bajaj Pulsar was the most popular bike in the company lineup in domestic markets while it was the Boxer that commanded most sales globally. Bajaj Auto had launched the new Pulsar N160 in June 2022 and now gears up for the new 2022 Bajaj Pulsar N150 with the latter spied on test in a near production format.Bajaj Sales Breakup Aug 2022In domestic markets it was the Bajaj Pulsar that headed the sales charts with 99,987 units sold in the month of August 2022, up 76.61 percent when compared to 56,615 units sold in August 2021. This was a 43,373 unit volume growth with a 43.64 percent share.Close behind, at No. 2 was the Bajaj Pulsar with 97,135 units sold in August 2022, up 46.94 percent over 66,107 units sold in August 2021. This was a 31,028 unit volume growth with a 42.39 percent share. In the Pulsar lineup, it was the Pulsar 125 that claimed the most attention with sales of 53,153 units, up 62.75 percent from 32,659 units sold in August 2021. There were 28,335 units of Pulsar 150cc and 14,994 units of Pulsar 160 to Pulsar 200 also sold last month along with 653 units of Pulsar 250.Bajaj Sales Breakup Aug 2022Bajaj CT sales stood at 24,094 units in August 2022 with a 9.35 percent YoY de-growth over 26,578 units sold in August 2021. This was a 2,484 unit volume de-growth. CT 110 sales stood at 15,047 units down 43.39percent YoY from 26,578 units sold in August 2021 while CT 125 sales stood at 9,047 units. It was in August 2022 that Bajaj Auto launched the new CT 125X at Rs 71,354 (ex-showroom Delhi).Avenger sales increased 42.78 percent YoY to 3,928 units from 2,751 units sold in August 2021 while there was outstanding demand for the Chetak of which 2,762 units were sold in the past month, up from 364 units sold in August 2021. Sales of the Dominar dipped 14.01 percent to 1,215 units in August 2022 from 1,413 units sold in the same month of the previous year. It was the Dominar 250 that recorded sales of 633 units while there were 582 units of the Dominar 400 sold in the past month.Bajaj Exports August 2022Bajaj Exports registered a 36.40 percent YoY decline with most models experiencing de-growth except for the CT and Discover. Bajaj Boxer saw the highest sales at 45,668 units, down 56.75 percent from 1,05,594 units sold in August 2021. This was a 59,926 unit volume de-growth with a 40.79 percent share. In the boxer range, it was the 110cc model that commanded the most attention in global markets with 28,208 units sold, down 66.31 percent from 83,732 units sold in August 2021.There were also 14,460 units of the Boxer 150cc sold along with 3,000 units of Boxer 125.Bajaj Exports Breakup Aug 2022Bajaj CT exports improved by 54.99 percent YoY to 27,834 units from 17,958 units exported in August 2021. The CT commands a 24.865 percent share and saw its 125cc model in higher demand at 15,734 units exported when compared to 9,796 units of CT 110cc and 2,304 units of CT 150cc exported in the past month.Pulsar exports dipped 37.27 percent to 21,480 units from 34,243 units sold in August 2021. This was a 12,763 unit volume de-growth with a 19.19 percent share. In the Pulsar range, exports stood at Pulsar 200 (12,175 units), Pulsar 150 (6,528 units) and Pulsar 250 (1,014 units) each posting a YoY de-growth. Discover exports increased by 16.10 percent to 9,632 units from 11,480 units sold in August 2022 with Discover 125 seeing exports of 6,392 units along with 3,240 units of Discover 110. Dominar (4,010 units), Platina (2,460 units) and Avenger (878 units) each posted a YoY de-growth in August 2022. More

Suspension system will comprise telescopic forks at front and a swingarm unit at rear.Unlike Ola, Ather, Chetak, iQube, etc. that utilize non-removable battery packs, Vida electric scooter is likely to get removable battery option. Hero MotoCorp has partnered with Gogoro, a Taiwan-based company that specializes in building and maintaining battery swapping infrastructure.While battery swapping is hugely popular in Taiwan, it remains to be seen if it can be successfully executed in India. Let’s take a look at how this segment fares in August 2022.Top 10 500cc+ Motorcycles Aug 2022Royal Enfield 650 twins sold 1,388 units in August 2022and registered 66.43% YoY growth. With total volume growth of 554 units from 834 units sold in August 2021. The twins command 82.62% market share of all the big bikes. When compared to July 2022, we can see a drop in sales by just 6 units.India’s cheapest inline-4, Kawasaki Z900 takes 2nd spot with 41 units sold in August 2022. But it registers a drop of 25.45% YoY and holds a 2.44% share of the top 500cc+ motorcycle segment. The Dhoom bike, Suzuki Hayabusa sold 34 units and took 3rd spot. Like Z900, falls in the red with a 19.05% drop YoY. At 4th place is CBR650R with a 10.81% drop in sales YoY with 33 units sold.500cc+ Motorcycles Sales – August 2022Kawasaki Versys 650 and Triumph Street Triple registered positive growth of 187.50% and 70% YoY respectively with 23 units and 17 units sold respectively. Newly launched Triumph Tiger 660 stands equal to Street Triple with 17 units sold in August 2022. Middle-weights like Triumph Trident 660 and Kawasaki Ninja 650 registered a drop in sales YoY too.The newly launched Harley-Davidson Nightster takes 10th spot with 11 unit sales. Triumph Tiger 900 and Speed Twin sold 10 and 9 units respectively. Tiger registers a 66.67% growth and Speed registers a 66.67% drop YoY. However, Rocket III, Triumph’s current flagship sold 6 units and registered 20% growth YoY.Single Digit SalesUpdated Suzuki V-Strom 650 XT, Kawasaki Versys 1000 and Harley-Davidson Fat Boy 114 sold 5 units each. Pan America recently got up to Rs. 4 lakh discount which should translate into better sales next month. Now let’s take a look at all the bikes that sold 0 units.We have Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R and Ninja 1000, Triumph Street Twin and Bonneville Speedmaster, Honda Africa Twin and then from Harley-Davidson stables, we have Low Rider Special, Forty Eight, Low Rider and Electra Glide. All-in-all, the top 500cc+ motorcycles segment saw 1,680 units sold with volume growth of 434 units while registering 34.83% of YoY growth. More

    New Kawasaki W 175cc Launch Price Rs 1.47 L – Red And Black

    Kawasaki W175 was supposed to be launched much earlier, but plans apparently got delayed due to the pandemicNew Kawasaki W 175ccIt was in November 2020 that Kawasaki W175 was spotted on road tests in India for the first time. Now around two years later, W175 has been launched in India. W175 is the smallest capacity retro-themed Kawasaki bike, offered in Asian markets such as Indonesia, Thailand and Philippines. It is also exported to Latin American countries such as Mexico, Uruguay and Bolivia.In Indonesia, there are three versions on offer, the standard W175, W175 Cafe and W175 TR. In Indian market, only the standard variant has been launched as of now. W175 is manufactured locally, which has helped keep costs down. Two colours are on offer, with prices starting from Rs 1.47 lakh, ex-sh.Kawasaki W175 featuresDesign inspiration for Kawasaki W175 comes from its larger sibling, W800. Kawasaki W series has a rich history spanning more than 50 years. The first bike in this series, W1, was launched in 1966. Continuing on that journey, Kawasaki W175 has an alluring old-school profile with features such as round headlamp and rear view mirrors, fork gaiters, tear drop shaped fuel tank, quilted single piece saddle and wire-spoke wheels.There will be two colour options, Ebony and Special Edition Red. While the former is essentially an all-black theme, the latter is a dual-tone colour option of red and black. In both, most of the components have been blacked out such as front suspension, headlight casing, engine, swingarm and exhaust pipe.New Kawasaki W 175ccInstrumentation is fairly simple with analogue style speedometer, odometer, trip meter and turn signals. W175 signifies the pure joy of riding and absolutely no distractions with things like Bluetooth connectivity and app-based functions. Signature W branding can be seen at the bottom section of the instrument console. Fuel tank also has the W branding in a contrasting red shade.Kawasaki W175 specsHardware setup is pretty straightforward, a double cradle frame integrated with telescopic front forks and dual rear shock absorbers. Riding stance is quite comfortable, as the bike supports the rider’s natural position. The bike has disc brake at front and drum brake at rear. Both ends have 17-inch wheels, shod with 80/100 front and 100/90 rear tyre.Powering Kawasaki W175 is a 177cc, air cooled motor that churns out 13 PS of max power at 7,500 rpm and 13.2 Nm of peak torque at 6,000 rpm. It is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. While the numbers seem quite frugal, W175 can still deliver optimal performance owing to its low weight of just 135 kg.W175 will be fun to ride across city streets, as it also has the right numbers in terms of length (2,006 mm), wheelbase (1,320 mm) and seat height (790 mm). While it won’t have any direct rival, Kawasaki W175 can be a challenger to the likes of Yamaha FZ-X, Royal Enfield Hunter 350, Honda CB350, Jawa and Yezdi Roadster. More

    Top 10 200cc To 500cc Motorcycles Jul 2022 – Classic, Bullet, Pulsar, Dominar

    Motorcycles in 200-500cc range posted a 6.87 percent YoY growth in July 2022 while MoM sales dipped 7.04 percent with Royal Enfield 350 cc models taking top spotsNew Bajaj Pulsar 250Motorcycles in the 200-500 cc segment posted a YoY growth of 6.87 percent to 55,329 units in July 2022 from 51,774 units sold in July 2021 relating to a 3,555 unit volume growth. MoM sales on the other hand dipped 7.04 percent from 59,521 units sold in June 2022.The list was topped by 5 models from Royal Enfield with the Classic 350 being the best-selling model, surpassing every other model on this list by a significant margin. RE Classic 350 sales increased YoY by 37.50 percent to 23,223 units in July 2022, up from 16,890 units sold in July 2021. This was a 6,333 unit volume growth. MoM sales, however, dipped 8.66 percent from 25,425 units sold in June 2022.The RE Classic 350 currently commands a 41.97 percent share. No other model on this list saw sales above the 10,000 unit mark.200cc To 500cc Motorcycles Sales Jul 2022At No. 2 was the RE Meteor 350cc with YoY and MoM de-growth at 7.85 percent and 6.44 percent respectively to 8,088 units in July 2022 from 8,777 units sold in July 2021 and 8,645 units sold in June 2022. It was followed by the RE Bullet 350 that posted a YoY de-growth of 8.45 percent to 6.530 units from 7,133 units sold in July 2021 while MoM sales improved by 10.81 percent from 5,893 units sold in June 2022.It was the RE Electra that came in next with 3,853 units sold in the past month, up 30.65 percent from 2,949 units sold in July 2021. MoM sales however, dipped 11.69 percent over 4,363 units sold in June 2022. Himalayan sales increased YoY by 26.04 percent to 3,441 units in July 2022 but fell by 23.77 percent from 4,541 units sold in June 2022. Share percentage also fell from 7.58 percent held in June 2022 to 6.22 percent in the past month. Royal Enfield gears up for more offerings in the 350-650cc segment with the new Bullet 350, Super Meteor 650, Shotgun 650 along with the Himalayan 450 which could all launch over the next 1-2 years.200cc to 500cc Motorcycle Sales July 2022 vs July 2021 (YoY)Honda H’ness CB350 was at No. 6 with sales of 2,827 units, up 23.72 percent over 2,285 units sold in July 2021. It was also a MoM growth of 33.35 percent from 2,120 units sold in June 2022. Sales of KTM 250 fell 15.47 percent YoY to 847 units, down from 1,002 units sold in July 2021 while MoM sales improved by 288.53 percent from 218 units sold in June 2022. It was followed by the Bajaj Pulsar 250/22F which also fell on a YoY basis by 80.45 percent to 681 units from 3,484 units sold in July 2021. MoM sales were higher by 74.17 percent from 391 units sold in June 2022.FZ25 sales dipped 37.06 percent YoY and 22.29 percent MoM to 523 units in July 2022. KTM 390 and Dominar 400 both posted a YoY de-growth of 26.92 percent and 0.49 percent respectively to 494 units and 409 units in July 2022 while MoM sales improved from 374 units and 214 units sold in June 2022.Dominar, Gixxer, Apache Sales Jul 2022There were also 350 units of the Suzuki V Strom 250 sold in the past month, a 7.89 percent MoM de-growth from 380 units sold in June 2022. There were also 302 units of Dominar 250,  294 units of Apache 310 and 213 units of CB300R sold in the past month along with 127 units of the Ninja 300 and 113 units of the Avenger 220. Powered by engines in the 125-373cc range, these bikes have each found a distinct fan following both in domestic and export markets.KTM recently updated their Duke range with new colour schemes each distinct to the Duke lineup while the company could also introduce the RC 390 and RC 200 in MotoGP factory colours sometime in October, just ahead of the festive season.KTM Domestic Sales August 2022KTM sales in domestic markets in August 2022 stood at 4,255 units, down 3.05 percent YoY as against 4,389 units sold in August 2021. This was a 134 unit volume de-growth. Sales however improved by 43.65 percent on a MoM basis from 2,962 units sold in July 2022.KTM 200 (Duke + RC) models were at the top of sales charts with 1,757 units sold in the past month, up 23.04 percent compared to 1,428 units sold in August 2022. Share percentage was at 41.29 percent. MoM sales grew by 9.33 percent from 1,607 units sold in July 2022 when share had stood at 54.25 percent.KTM India Sales Aug 2022Sales of KTM 250 (Duke + ADV) dipped 2.70 percent YoY to 1,405 units from 1,444 units sold in August 2022 while MoM sales improved by 65.88 percent from 847 units sold in July 2022. Share percentage increased from 28.60 to 33.02 percent MoM.But 390 (ADV + Duke + RC) saw a 9.21 percent YoY growth to 830 units last month from 760 units sold in August 2021 while MoM sales were higher by 68.02 percent from 494 units sold in July 2022. There was the KTM 125cc at the bottom of domestic sales charts with 263 units sold in the past month, down 65.26 percent over 757 units sold in August 2021 while MoM sales grew significantly by 1778.57 percent from just 14 units sold in July 2022.KTM India Exports Aug 2022In the export market, KTM sales grew by 216.98 percent YoY to 8,907 units from 2,810 units sold in August 2021. MoM sales were also higher by 17.17 percent from 7,602 units sold in July 2022. It was the KTM 390 that posted the most exports with 3,672 units shipped in the past month, up 818 percent when compared to just 400 units exported in August 2021. MoM exports however, dipped marginally by 0.65 percent from 3,696 units shipped in July 2022.KTM India Exports Aug 2022KTM 200 saw higher exports both on YoY (38.99 percent) and MoM (18.64 percent) basis in August 2022 to 2,183 units. There had been 1,582 units and 1,840 units shipped in August 2021 and July 2022 respectively. KTM 125 exports stood at 2,092 units in the past month leading to a 107.13 percent MoM growth from 1,010 units sold in July 2022. 250cc exports increased 15.94 percent YoY to 960 units over 828 units shipped in August 2021 while MoM exports dipped by 9.09 percent from 1,056 units sold in July 2022.KTM India Total Aug 2022Total sales of KTM India improved YoY and MoM by 82.83 percent and 24.59 percent respectively. Sales in August 2022 had stood at 13,162 units up from 7,199 units sold in August 2021 while in July 2022 the company had sold a total of 10,564 units. It was the KTM 390 that saw the most sales at 4,502 units, up 288.10 percent from 1,160 units sold in August 2021 while MoM sales grew by 7.45 percent from 4,190 units sold in July 2022.KTM India Total (Sales + Exports) Aug 2022KTM 200 and 250 sales increased by 30.90 percent and 4.09 percent respectively on a YoY basis and by 14.30 percent and 24.28 percent MoM to 3,940 units and 2,365 units sold in August 2022.
