There are three trim levels offered in UK for RE Super Meteor 650 – They are Astral, Interstellar and CelestialRoyal Enfield Super Meteor 650 Exports StartThere is a lot riding on Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650. The success of this motorcycle will help RE increase their dominance in the 500-700cc motorcycle segment globally. With the deliveries set to commence from February 1st in India, Royal Enfield’s first 650cc low-slung cruiser has now landed in the UK.Royal Enfield has now started exports of Super Meteor 650. First batch has landed in the UK and more markets are likely to follow soon. These will be delivered to customers already booked their new Super Meteor 650.RE Super Meteor 650 ExportsThis is the first batch of Super Meteor 650 that has been exported from India. Exports have started before deliveries have commenced in the domestic market. Usually a manufacturer starts exports a few months after the deliveries have started in the domestic market. It is likely that this practice is followed so that OEMs can iron out any issues, if any, found by first customers. But it seems like Royal Enfield is not going to follow this practice and is going to start deliveries in India as well as abroad simultaneously.Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 Export Spec – From India to the UKSuper Meteor 650 comes with a lot of firsts for the brand. It is the first Royal Enfield to get USD forks, and LED headlights and is the first 650cc bike to get a tripper screen as standard. Bottom line is that Royal Enfield has made a stellar attempt at this genre and is likely to get a lot of traction in markets like North America and Europe where the motorcycle cruiser community is huge. As of now, communities like these prefer Harley-Davidsons, Indians, and custom-built choppers with long-stroke engines.Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 Export Spec – From India to the UKPrices in the UKSuper Meteor 650 is now live on Royal Enfield UK website and retails for a starting price of GBP 6,799 (approx Rs. 6.87 lakh) for Astral trim offered in Astral Black, Astral Blue and Astral Green. GBP 6,999 (approx Rs. 7.07 lakh) for Interstellar trim offered in Interstellar Green and Interstellar Grey. Lastly, GBP 7,299 (approx Rs. 7.37 lakh) for Celestial is offered in Celestial Blue and Celestial Red. Note: All prices exclude taxes.Variant lineup is almost similar to that of India’s. Top Celestial trim is the only one to get a front windscreen and rear pillion backrest and other goodies. Most of these can be retrofitted to other trims with the Grand Tourer accessory pack announced in India. This pack is likely to be offered in the UK and other markets if demands for it soar.Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 Export Spec – From India to the UKUK-spec RE Super Meteor 650 is identical in terms of components and powertrains. It is still powered by the same 648cc parallel-twin engine making around 47 bhp of power and 52 Nm of torque. It is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and gets a slipper clutch to aid riding comfort. These two alone command a collective market share of more than 50% among the top bestselling bikes in the country. However, Hero MotoCorp’s scooter portfolio has relatively fewer models like Pleasure, Destini and Maestro Edge. Moreover, Hero scooters usually trail behind the likes of Honda Activa, Suzuki Access, TVS Jupiter, TVS Ntorq and Honda Dio. To fix this anomaly and boost its scooter sales, Hero has launched a new 110cc scooter in the sporty segment, called Xoom.Hero Xoom 110cc ScooterHero Xoom 110 styling, featuresAs hardware specs will be largely the same as other Hero 110cc scooters, Xoom will focus on its styling. It comes in with some hi-tech features, gets sporty styling bits such as X-shaped LED headlamp. It is mounted on the front apron that has a sculpted profile with sharp panelling. New Honda Motorcycle To Rival Splendor – Patent Design Leaks (Flex Fuel?)

A space between Splendor and HF Deluxe is likely where Honda’s new budget commuter will fall in terms of pricingNew Honda Motorcycle To Rival SplendorHonda Motorcycles & Scooters India (HMSI) has utter dominance in scooter segment. Thanks to its ever-popular Activa range, Honda has kept scooter sales charts under its grasp and is likely to stay that way for a long time. With motorcycles, Honda has an entry-level offering called CB Shine. It is the second highest-seller for HMSI and highest-seller when Honda’s motorcycle range is considered. Where the Indian motorcycle market is taken into account, it is Hero MotoCorp that absolutely decimates the competition.New Honda Motorcycle To Rival SplendorSplendor is the one to beat in India with 2.25 lakh units sold last month while Honda Shine was at No 2 behind Splendor and HF Deluxe with 87k units sold. Honda has been reportedly working on a new budget commuter. Now, the Japanese brand has patented a new design in India in that regard. Let’s take a look.Looking at the design patent, one can immediately say that it has been built to be priced aggressively in the entry segment. Even with budget commuter standards. As of now, the name of this upcoming motorcycle is not known. That said, it bears semblance with CG Dream series of budget commuters that is sold in underdeveloped markets like Pakistan.New Honda Motorcycle To Rival SplendorSpeaking of Pakistan, Honda offers a CG 125 Dream with spoked wheels. In India, HMSI is likely to plonk a 110cc engine that currently does duty in CD 110 Dream. Honda’s entry-level offering CD 110 Dream is currently not doing well against Hero Splendor despite offering a larger 110cc engine as opposed to 100cc and matching the price too. There can be an attempt by Honda to offer a 125cc motorcycle with spoked wheels and barebones functionality and match Splendor Plus’ Rs. 71.5K price point. This way, Honda can expect to push more volumes and grab some of Splendor’s pie. There is a third possibility of offering a new 100cc engine and going toe-to-toe with Splendor Plus which gets a 100cc engine as well and even undercuts the latter in pricing. By going this route, HMSI can bring a contender to rival Hero HF Deluxe which is the 4th highest-selling motorcycle in India and is priced at an absolute steal at Rs. 55K.Flex Fuel?Even though it is very early in the time frame for speculating a flex-fuel offering, it is a possibility. We say this because Honda’s new budget commuter which is patented in India has an unusually large engine casing for a budget commuter motorcycle. But it looks like the engine casing is extending beyond its cradle frame. This is unusual for a budget motorcycle with just a 100-125cc engine unless it is holding additional equipment for flex-fuel tech. Notable features include a double cradle chassis, telescopic front forks and twin shock absorbers at the rear, a single-piece seat, and spoked wheels. When launched this year, Honda’s new budget commuter will take on Hero HF Deluxe and Splendor Plus. A price bracket of around Rs. 60-70k is likely to be a logical bet for this upcoming motorcycle. New Rider Electric Motorcycle With 140 Km Range – Aims To Rival 125cc Bikes

Owing to its hub-mounted motor, Rider SR6 boasts a staggering 118 Nm of torque available from zero RPMNew Rider Electric MotorcycleIn India, we get motorcycles from various companies. Most of them are either Indian or Japanese. Brands like Ducati, Aprilia, Vespa, Triumph and the likes hail from the old continent. Then there are Harley-Davidson and Indian from the land of the free and lastly, we have Benelli, Keeway, QJ and Zontes and the likes from dragon land.We don’t get French Motorcycles here. Never have. Should that be the case? Or do we need French brands like Rider to launch its fully-faired electric motorcycle range in India? Considering that 2W EV scene in India is growing by the day and more players are pooling in, should Rider make an entry?New Rider Electric MotorcycleThat is not happening anytime soon. But, let’s take a look at what we would get if it does launch in India. If launched, it would be a fitting rival to recently launched enthusiast EV Ultraviolette F77.There is a lot to like about Rider SR6. Design-wise, there are a lot of inspirations drawn from Yamaha’s YZF range. It shows especially in its front fascia. The fairing is neatly executed and features vents to cool down its batteries. Speaking of, the battery pack is mounted low on its frame, to bring its center of gravity lower.New Rider Electric MotorcycleBattery is exposed lower down, aiding in cooling, while motor is a hub unit built into its rear wheel. This motor is from renowned EV component manufacturer, QS Motor brand. It generates 5 kW of continuous power (6.7 bhp) and peaks out at 6 kW (8.04 bhp). Even though SR6’s power is in line with what a 125cc category motorcycle produces, torque is not.At 118 Nm, it has a lot of torque and that too, at 0 RPM. Torque measurement method differs with hub-mounted motors and always boasts a higher number. Regardless, top speed is pegged at 74.5 Mph (120 km/h). Power is drawn from a 72 V and 86 Ah battery. This combination works out to a capacity of a 6.192 kWh battery pack.At a steady 80 km/h speed, Rider SR6 is claimed to travel 100 km on a single charge. If driven with a light throttle at 50 km/h, Rider claims 140 km of range from a single charge. With a 220V normal household socket, charging time is 9 hours, but it does support type 2 socket for fast charging too.New Rider Electric MotorcycleSpecs & FeaturesIn terms of componentry, Rider SR6 fully-faired electric motorcycle has a lot to offer. There are clip-on handlebars with low-slung and committed riding posture. Footpegs are rear set too. At front, we have dual 300 mm brake rotors and a 240 mm disc at the rear. USD front forks take care of suspending the front, while the rear gets a mono-shock.Rear suspension gets adjustability with an external rotary dial. No need for screw drivers for this task. Front USD forks seem to be adjustable too, but can’t be said for sure. What is sure, though, is Rider SR6’s price tag. It starts from EUR 7190 (approx Rs. 6.4 lakh). At this price before taxes and import duties, it almost doesn’t make sense as Ultraviolette F77 costs between Rs. 3.8 lakh to Rs. 5.5 lakh. More

New Aprilia 300cc Sports Bike Spied In India – RC 390, Apache 310 Rival

A single-cylinder engine displacing between 300 to 400 cc and power figures to match its rivals are expected from new Aprilia sports bikeNew Aprilia 300cc-400cc sports bike for India spied. Images – EVO IndiaThe premium end of 300cc sports bike segment is currently occupied by KTM RC 390, TVS Apache RR 310, BMW G 310 RR and Honda CBR300R. Kawasaki Ninja 300 comes close with its Rs. 3.4 lakh price tag. Keeway has spotted an opportunity here and recently launched K 300 R. However, Italians have been surprisingly absent from this segment.Sure, we had the Benelli 302 R with its massive body and dual disc brake setup at the front which looked like a proper superbike. But it was offset by its heft and after that, no Italians have ever stepped into this segment. Until now. There is a new kid on the block who is under testing to have a piece of this pie. It is a new Aprilia sports bike spotted testing in Baramati.New Aprilia Sports BikeThe new motorcycle is wrapped to the gills with camouflage and has testing equipment strapped on its back monitoring various parameters. Design language is mostly in line with what this Italian marque offers under its RS lineup. In effect, it looks like a toned-down version of an RS 660, which is not a bad thing in any way.Even though it was clad with camouflage, the front fascia does resemble that of an RS 660. It gets a twin headlight setup with a pilot lamp in the centre. These are likely to be LEDs as every other bike in this segment provides LEDs. Taillights and blinkers are likely to be LED too.New Aprilia 300cc-400cc sports bike for India spiedSeating posture looks fairly committed. There is a decent amount of lean to reach its handlebars and rider footpegs are rear-set. This gives a lot of leverage for the rider to tip the motorcycle into a corner. The front wind deflector looks to be a little lower in angle and its chunky fuel tank seems to provide enough grip for the rider.Componentry is likely to change until it reaches the series production phase. That said, this test mule offers USD forks at front and a mono-shock unit at the rear. Swingarm looks like it is an aluminium unit and not a box-section unit. Disc brakes at front are skinny, like the ones found on current gen KTM RC 390.Engine & PricingEngine specs are not yet known. It can be speculated that it would displace between 300cc to 400cc with a single-cylinder architecture and make around 35 to 40 bhp of power and 35 Nm of torque. Features like ride-by-wire, liquid cooling, slip and assist clutch, quick shifter (at least for upshifting), dual channel ABS, riding modes and a modern TFT display for instrumentation can be offered.New Aprilia 300cc-400cc sports bike for India spiedAprilia is not very popular in India where motorcycles are concerned, despite a strong presence globally. We get the RS and Tuono lineup in both middleweight and liter class segments. When Japanese offerings in middleweight and liter classes are brought into picture, Aprilia’s offerings come off as expensive. If only Aprilia had launched RS 150 and Tuono 150 in India and established a brand identity in the affordable sporty motorcycle segment, it could have been a lot easier to launch and market this upcoming motorcycle. That said, pricing can go to Rs. 3.5 lakh (ex-sh).Source More
