    2023 Honda CB200X Launched At Rs. 1.47 Lakh – 3 Colours

2023 Honda CB200X LaunchedThe 184.4cc single-cylinder engine now meets BS6 P2 emission standards and brings OBD-II diagnostics suite as wellAfter updating the CB300F with a killer price revision strategy, Honda 2W India has launched 2023 CB200X at Rs. 1.47 lakh (ex-sh). This is the newest update to CB200X that brings it in line with other Honda motorcycles in terms of emission standards. The updated 184.4cc engine is now BS6 P2 compliant and sports OBD II compatibility. Colour options include Decent Blue Metallic (new), Pearl Nightstar Black & Sports Red.2023 Honda CB200X – ADV-styled Hornet 2.0It is an ADV-styled commuter that gets its design inspiration from CB500X ADV. Looks are one of the biggest strengths of this motorcycle and even feels a lot more premium when compared to other motorcycles of this engine class. The sharp fairing, knuckle guard-mounted LED turn indicators, full LED headlights and gold-finished USD telescopic front forks lend it a rich and premium appeal. Even though 2023 Honda Cb200X shares engine and platform with Hornet 2.0, the faux ADV packs in extensive upgrades that lend it a unique character of its own.The handlebar on CB200X is more upright than Hornet 2.0’s and gives a more relaxed rider’s triangle. There is an impressive windshield mounted on the bikini fairing that should provide decent protection from wind blasts at higher speeds. Knuckle guards come in handy as well. Hornet 2.0 misses out on these attributes.2023 Honda CB200X SpecsWhat does it pack?Honda calls CB200X an Urban Explorer, which is befitting. As opposed to its predecessor, 2023 Honda CB200X packs all-new graphics that look bolder than before. Attributes like an agile diamond frame along with USD telescopic front forks and rear mono-shock suspension setup lend impressive handling characteristics. This update mainly revolves around the engine, which is now OBD-II compliant for real-time diagnostics as part of BS6 P2 emission norms. If there is a malfunction detected, a warning light flashes, notifying the rider. This engine generates around 17 bhp of peak power at 8,500 RPM and 15.9 Nm of peak torque at 6,000 RPM mated to a 5-speed gearbox.Honda offers petal disc setup at the front and back along with the safety net of single-channel ABS. Slip and assist clutch ensures minimum effort while clutch action and reduces wheel hopping when downshifting. The fully digital instrument cluster looks modern and packs adjustable brightness too. No Bluetooth, though.2023 Honda CB200X FeaturesThe new Honda CB200X would have benefitted with a price cut as we saw with CB300F. However, that isn’t the case and Honda has priced it at Rs. 1.47 lakh (ex-sh). 2023 Honda CB200X is more expensive than Hero Xpulse 200 4V as well, which is a true-blue off-road machine with more performance.Words from the manufacturerCommenting on the launch of the new CB200X, Mr. Tsutsumu Otani, Managing Director, President & CEO, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India, said, “Today marks a significant milestone as we launch the 2023 CB200X inspired by Honda’s legendary CB legacy. Since its launch in 2021, CB200X has received tremendous response in the market and is a perfect riding companion for the customer’s daily commutes as well as short weekend getaways beyond the cityscapes.”Introducing HMSI’s latest offering, Mr. Yogesh Mathur, Director, Sales and Marketing, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India, said, “We are pleased to introduce the 2023 CB200X with an OBD2 compliant engine, stylish graphics and a new assist & slipper clutch. Marking a steady evolution in the 180-200cc motorcycle segment, the CB200X urban explorer is inspired by the dreams of the new-age customers and their passion for motorcycle riding who want to Explore Life with Every Ride!” More

New Honda i-M, i-M1 e Electric Scooter Names Trademarked In India

Image for illustration purpose onlyThe names i-M and i-M1 e are Honda’s most recent trademarks and could evolve into two new electric scooters for IndiaIndian electric 2W envelope is mostly dominated by startup brands. More and more mainstream bike makers are now entering this space. We have TVS and Hero MotoCorp have already arrived. However, Japanese bike makers have yet to make their presence known in this space. Will Honda break the ice with ‘i-M’ and ‘i-M1 e’ electric scooters?Honda Files Trademarks For i-M and i-M1 eThere have been multiple speculations about Honda launching a new electric scooter in India. In fact, Honda has confirmed two different e-scooters for India, slated to launch in 2024. Even though Honda is highly likely to launch them under the ‘Activa’ umbrella, two new trademarks have been filed by the company – i-M and i-M1 e.New Honda i-M, i-M1 e Electric ScooterThese could very well be Honda’s next electric scooters. In the automotive world, the letter ‘i’ is usually associated with intelligent or innovative vehicles. Honda’s newest trademarks could be the embodiment of the brand’s innovation as these will be the first set of e-scooters from Honda in India. Both i-M and i-M1 e trademarks have been filed on 13/6/2023 and the status reads ‘Formalities check pass’. Honda probably intends to use i-M1 and i-M1 e trademarks on its upcoming electric vehicles, irrespective of the number of wheels, as seen in the description.New Honda i-M, i-M1 e Electric ScooterWhat to expect?Honda 2W India might develop an all-new platform for these electric scooters, codenamed Platform E. This platform is said to be compatible with both fixed battery and swappable battery architectures. Hence, one of the two scooters will sport a fixed battery setup, while the other will get a swappable battery kit. There is a probability of the fixed battery scooter taking the PV route, while the swappable battery model takes CV route for commercial applications. Either way, Honda will make sure there is enough performance and range on tap, which is on par with what rivals have to offer in their respective segments.A high level of localisation will be a priority to keep costs in check. Given that it is from Honda, there is a level of reliability and safety associated with these upcoming products too. Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India is currently spawning a new manufacturing facility in Narasapura, Karnataka, to accommodate future 2W production demands.Price point will be interesting as Honda is likely to position them mostly for first-time buyers. These might prove to be good alternatives for affordable ICE scooters. Launch could happen in January 2024, as confirmed by CEO. Considering how many trademarks Honda files in India and how many of them turn out into real product launches, i-M and i-M1 e names may just be intellectual property protecting mechanisms as well. Ducati Single Cylinder Motorcycle Spied Testing – KTM rival

Ducati single cylinder motorcycleDucati single cylinder motorcycle features Hypermotard 950’s overall design and aesthetics – With a smaller engineThe Italian marque, Ducati, has been one of the pinnacles in sensational and premium motorcycles. From the past couple of decades, Ducati has produced a multitude of multi-cylinder engine motorcycles. However, recent revelations suggest Ducati is developing a single-cylinder powered Hypermotard that could potentially take on the likes of KTM 690 SMC R.Ducati Single Cylinder Motorcycle – Hypermotard 650?Test mule was spotted abroad and featured a Ducati Hypermotord-like bike in camouflage. A keen look reveals that there is some size deficit in the engine department, while the motorcycle around it looks huge. At first glance, it looks like this test mule has the same chassis and body as the bigger Hypermotard 950, testing a new single-cylinder engine. This might be true as well because similarities in design and size with bigger Hypermotard are uncanny. However, there are changes that might be categorised as downgrades when compared to full-fat Hypermotard 950. Headlights, rear subframe, USD telescopic front forks, and rear mono-shock placement look similar. These are the elements that give it a typical Hypermotard look. On closer inspection, this particular test mule carries certain downgrades. These are a single disc setup at the front, skinnier tyres, a double-sided swingarm as opposed to single-sided on Hypermotard and a few elements more. Front beak looks thinner, but longer.Ducati Hypermotard 650 engine bayRadiator’s positioning and the cowl around it look similar to that of Hypermotard 950. Looking at the engine bay, it generally feels a lot empty on this test mule. We feel like this engine bay was designed to accommodate a much bigger engine. Like the twin-cylinder 937cc unit on Hypermotard 950.Same 659cc single-cylinder homologated by NHTSA in USA?When the recent spy shots of a single-cylinder Ducati motorcycle went viral, it sheds light on a single-cylinder powered motorcycle that Ducati registered with NHTSA. According to that registration, this single-cylinder engine will be a 659cc unit and has a 4V head. It seems to have a SOHC setup and a liquid-cooling jacket. Power may be around 75 bhp. This engine looks to the a stressed unit in the frame. Rear swingarm seems to be directly connected to the engine too. These are weight-saving measures and Ducati’s upcoming single-cylinder bike could sport impressive kerb weight numbers. Ducati might be eyeing KTM 690 SMC R with this upcoming Hypermotard 650 (name not confirmed).Ducati Hypermotard stylingConsidering that this is the first-ever sighting of this motorcycle, launch could be further in the future. India launch is less likely, though. But not completely impossible. When launched, Ducati Hypermotard 650 will mark the return of iconic Italian marque to single-cylinder space. Last known single-cylinder Ducati was race-only Supermano in 1993.Source More

Ultraviolette Opposes X440 Name Trademark By Hero MotoCorp

Harley-Davidson X 440 trademark tussle with UltravioletteThe ‘X44’ trademark by Ultraviolette Automotive was filed around two months prior to Harley-Davidson X 440 trademark filingHero MotoCorp partnered up with iconic American motorcycling giant Harley-Davidson and launched X 440. There is good reception to the bike, clocking over 25,000 bookings within weeks of launch. However, X 440 seems to have encountered a speed bump already in the form of a trademark tussle with Ultraviolette Automotive.Ultraviolette Opposes X440 Name TrademarkAccording to a recent report, Ultraviolette Automotive has raised a formal opposition against X 440 name trademark filed by Hero MotoCorp. Ultraviolette Automotive seems to be concerned over the name X 440 overlapping with one of its own name trademarks – X44.According to the report, people in the know-how have revealed that Ultraviolette has filed an opposition at the patent office against the wordmark ‘X 440’ that Hero MotoCorp used with their maiden product in partnership with Harley-Davidson. Where Ultraviolette is concerned, their opposition seems to have worked. If we take a look at Hero MotoCorp-owned X 440 trademark file, status now says ‘Opposed’. Whereas Ultraviolette’s X44 trademark file status says ‘Accepted & Advertised’. Trademark files reveal that Ultraviolette Automotive filed X44 trademark application on 27/9/22 and Hero MotoCorp filed X 440 trademark 8/11/2022.Hero MotoCorp X 440 trademark opposedWhat happens if Ultraviolette wins this legal battle? So, Ultraviolette’s trademark application is around two months older than Hero’s. If this legal tussle ends in Ultraviolette’s favour, Hero MotoCorp could lose the rights to X 440 name. Deliveries for Harley-Davidson X440 are around October 2023. Will deliveries of X 440 commence, if legalities escalate to that point by October? Only time will tell. There is a possibility of Harley-Davidson X 440 retaining its rights over X 440 word mark. This is because there is a pronounced space between the character X and 440, which Ultraviolette’s X44 trademark lacks. Also, an argument can be made by Hero regarding the fact that they already have the product on sale, whereas Ultraviolette may or may not launch a product with its trademark.Who will break the stalemate?Neither company has made any official remarks regarding this issue. It is clear that Ultraviolette had intentions of carving out a new affordable motorcycle below its F77 with the name X44 (44 is lower in value as opposed to 77). Since Ultraviolette filed its trademark before Hero MotoCorp, it might have an upper hand.Ultraviolette X44 trademarkThis incident also sheds light on Hero MotoCorp’s previous trademark tussle with Hero Electric. That was ruled in favour of Hero Electric and the issue mainly revolved around the usage of word ‘Hero’ with Hero MotoCorp’s new EV lineup. Hence ‘Vida’ brand was created.Source More

Let’s explore that question in detail.TVS Apache RTR 310 ReviewTVS Apache RTR 310 Design: Form Meets FunctionApache RTR 310 strikes a perfect balance between aesthetics and performance. Its sporty side and rear profile not only look great but also contribute to efficacy, and nimble handling. The unique cyborg-inspired design in the DRL, headlamp, and tail lamp isn’t just for style; it likely complements forward-biased mass distribution, enhancing overall handling and responsiveness.TVS Apache RTR 310 ReviewBeneath the surface, the lightweight aluminium subframe reduces weight, boosting agility. Lightweight 8-spoke dual-coloured alloy wheels further improve handling and acceleration. Engine features, like the optimised coolant jacket with 23 rows of radiator tubes, ensure efficient heat management, resulting in enhanced performance and durability. The hyper-spec trellis frame excels in dynamic response. Sporty steel tapered handlebars, ergonomic refinements, and adjustable hand levers prioritise rider comfort and control.TVS Apache RTR 310’s Tech Features – Command Centre, 5-inch TFT ClusterRider engagement is maximised with five distinct ride modes, adapting the bike’s behaviour to various road conditions. Whether you’re navigating the urban jungle, tackling rainy streets, chasing the thrill of sports mode, or unleashing the beast on the track or supermoto terrain. These modes optimise performance and safety for each scenario. The 5-inch TFT Cluster serves as a command centre, offering control over GoPro, music, voice assistance, and more. This integration keeps riders connected without compromising their attention on the road.TVS Apache RTR 310 ReviewTechnological aids like Race Tuned Linear Stability Control, Cornering ABS, Traction Control, and Cruise Control elevate the bike’s handling. And with it stability, responsiveness, and safety, regardless of the riding environment. Everything matters. Features like Climatic Control Seats are cool. Reverse Inclined DOHC Engine, and SmartXonnect Bluetooth connectivity are refined.TVS Apache RTR 310’s 312.2 cc Engine, QuickshifterTVS Apache RTR 310 packs a 312.2 cc reverse inclined DOHC engine to deliver peak power of 35.6 PS at 9,700 rpm and max torque of 28.7 Nm at 6,650 rpm. Its 6-speed transmission ensures versatile performance across different riding scenarios. TVS has declared it the fastest in its segment to get from 0 – 60 kmph in 2.81 seconds.TVS Apache RTR 310 ReviewThe bi-directional quickshifter (operating range – 2,300 rpm to redlining) facilitates smooth gear changes. RTR’s Race Tuned Slipper Clutch enhances control during aggressive downshifting. Throttle-by-wire system optimises throttle response. And its engine coolant jacket optimization maintains ideal operating temperatures. Glide Through Technology (GTT) streamlines city riding, and mass centralisation contributes to balanced handling. All this and more, work to harmonise a balanced ride experience.TVS Apache RTR 310 6-Axis IMU: The Brain Behind the RideRTR’s agility shines through whether navigating city traffic or tackling tight corners. However, the suspension felt slightly stiff on the smooth tarmac during the media ride in Bangkok. On the braking front, the bike delivers excellent bite, and the Dual ABS system performs its job effectively, ensuring reliable stopping power.TVS Apache RTR 310 ReviewMichelin Road 5 tyres deliver commendable grip, enhancing overall control. The traction control and cruise control systems perform effectively, contributing to a safe and smooth ride. Notably, TVS employs a sophisticated 6-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) that continually feeds crucial data to the bike’s CPU, including speed, angle, acceleration, and braking. This endows the bike with remarkable intelligence, enabling it to anticipate potential situations well in advance. For instance, when engaged in cruise control at 80 kmph and approaching a curve, the IMU processes the data to calculate the direction and angle of the curve. Consequently, it adjusts speed, ensuring a safe and controlled passage through the curve.TVS Apache RTR 310 ReviewRiding the RTR 310: Navigating the Power and Vibration SpectrumTVS Apache RTR 310 showcases a noticeable improvement over its predecessor, the Apache RR310. This enhancement is primarily attributed to its lighter weight, about 5 kgs less, and a tuned engine that delivers approximately 1.5 bhp/1.4 Nm more power. The power delivery is notably smooth, enabling the bike to accelerate effortlessly into triple-digit speeds. However, it’s at these higher speeds where vibrations become apparent.Unfortunately, TVS hasn’t successfully mitigated the vibration issue that has persisted within the 310 family from the outset. In fact, the new RTR 310 appears to exhibit more vibrations compared to the Apache RR 310. Despite this, the RTR 310’s improved power and peppy performance make it an enticing option.TVS Apache RTR 310 ReviewTriumph, Harley Davidson, and KTM in the Ring: TVS Apache RTR 310 ChallengersDemand for motorcycles in the 300-450cc segment is steadily increasing. Several new motorcycles have recently hit the market or are set to be launched in this segment. Royal Enfield, for instance, has refreshed its 350cc lineup and introduced the new Hunter 350 model. Additionally, they have plans to unveil the Himalayan 450 later this year. Triumph has entered this segment with the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400. Harley Davidson is here with the X440, and KTM has launched the new Duke 390. Most of these motorcycles will compete directly with the TVS Apache RTR 310.TVS Apache RTR 310 Review Verdict – TVS Apache RTR 310 – A Worthy Addition to the 310 LineupTVS Apache RTR 310 sets itself apart from the rest of the 310 family, avoiding the feeling of being a mere rebadge exercise. It offers a distinct riding experience and is feature rich. Within the city, it’s an absolute joy to ride, but it’s touring capabilities leave room for improvement. With prices ranging from Rs 2.42 lakh to over Rs 3 lakh for the fully loaded variant, the new TVS Apache RTR 310 represents a compelling option for those seeking a motorcycle in the 300cc-400cc segment. The much-awaited Ninja ZX-4R is here and is now the most affordable 4-cylinder motorcycle in India. Kawasaki ZX-4R costs Rs. 8.49 lakh (ex-sh) and undercuts the current most affordable faired 4-cylinder bike, Honda CBR650R, by Rs. 86,000.Kawasaki ZX-4R Launched – The only sub 500cc 4-cylinder bike in IndiaNew Ninja ZX-4R bears family genes and has semblance with other ZX motorcycles. The fairing is aggressive, yet has an understated hint of beauty to it. The proposition of a sub 500cc 4-cylinder motorcycle is rather exciting and Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R is the only bike of its kind in the Asian subcontinent.Ninja ZX-4R offers exhilarating and high-revving engine characteristics of a 4-cylinder motorcycle and ditches the added weight that is associated with middle-weights and lower-tier liter-class motorcycles. For reference, Honda CBR650R weighs 211 kg as it is a bigger capacity motorcycle. This takes power-to-weight ratio to the higher side.Speaking of power, Kawasaki ZX-4R packs a 399cc 4-cylinder engine with 74.4 bhp of power at 14,500 RPM and 39 Nm of torque at 13,000 RPM. This is a lot of engine speed for this displacement category, hence falling in screamer category. General thumb rule is that the smaller the pistons are, higher they revv.Kawasaki ZX-4R specsThere is a 6-speed gearbox along with a slip and assist clutch. Kawasaki Traction Control (KTRC) gets three modes of selectable traction. Kawasaki calls Ninja ZX-4R as “India’s first 399cc In-line 4 beast”. The split seat option offers decent wiggle room for rider to move about. Componentry includes USD telescopic front forks, rear mono-shock suspension, dual disc brake setup at the front and a single disc brake at the rear, dual-channel ABS and more. All of these components are mounted on a trellis frame that should allow spirited riding and sharp corner carving. Features list is pretty high as well. Kawasaki is offering a TFT instrument cluster that supports Bluetooth connectivity that enables music control, notification alert and turn-by-turn navigation. There is a Circuit Mode too, for track aficionados.Kawasaki ZX-4R goes up against Honda CBR650R, priced at Rs. 9.35 lakh (ex-sh). Similarly priced street naked Kawasaki Z900 could be a potential rival too. But Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R only weighs 188 kg, which is among its primary strengths. More

This update brings Street Fighter to MY2023 with OBD-II OBD-II-compliant powertrain. The main highlight of this launch, however, is the killer pricing. At Rs. 1.7 lakh (ex-sh), Honda CB300F brings fantastic value.2023 Honda CB300F Launched – Value redefined! The newest version of Honda CB300F is available across all Big Wing dealer networks across the country. For the price, Honda offers a street fighter motorcycle with handsome looks, decent product packaging and componentry and aims to be a do-it-all motorcycle for spirited daily commutes and exhilarating weekend getaways.Honda CB300FWhat does it pack at Rs. 1.7 lakh? This new pricing sheds a whole new perspective on Honda CB300F. The ‘Formidable’ street fighter is still powered by the same oil-cooled 293cc engine as before. However, Honda has now given it OBD-II A compliance as part of BS6 P2 transition. This fuel-injected engine develops around 24 bhp of power and 25.6 Nm of torque.A 6-speed sequential gearbox, slip and assist clutch continue to do duties. Slip and assist clutch enables quick gear shifts and it also prevents rear wheel hopping during aggressive downshifts. Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) is still present and it still sounds a lot like a Traction Control System (TCS).Componentry includes a single disc setup at both ends with dual-channel ABS, golden-finished USD telescopic front forks, a 5-step adjustable rear mono-shock, a fat 150-section rear tyre and more.
