Bajaj Platina, CT 100 And 110 Range Price Increased – April 2021

Image – NM ke TalksThis is the second time in 2021 that CT and Platina range have undergone price revision
As may be recalled, Bajaj had increased prices of its motorcycles earlier this year in January. Along with CT and Platina range, prices were increased for most other motorcycles such as Pulsar range, Avenger and Dominar. Now, prices have been increased once again for CT and Platina range. It is possible that other Bajaj motorcycles may also witness a price hike in the coming months.
Bajaj’s move to increase prices is in line with industry trends. Most other two-wheeler manufacturers had increased prices at the time of New Year and later as well. In most cases, the price hike has been attributed to rising input costs. It includes higher cost of raw materials as well as increased handling and transportation charges.
Bajaj CT Range – April 2021 prices
One of the most affordable commuter motorcycles in the country, Bajaj CT variants have become costlier in the range of Rs 1,356 to Rs 1,696. CT100 KS Alloy new price is Rs 49,152, as compared to Rs 47,654 earlier. CT110 ES Alloy updated price is Rs 53,498, an increase of Rs 1,696 over the earlier price. CT110 ES Alloy X new price is Rs 55,494, as compared to Rs 54,138 earlier.
CT100 is powered by a 102 cc motor that churns out 7.9 PS of max power at 7500 rpm and 8.34 Nm of peak torque at 5500 rpm. It is mated to a 4-speed gearbox. The bike has top speed of 90 kmph. CT110 utilizes a 115.45 cc motor that generates 8.6 PS at 7000 rpm and 9.81 Nm at 5000 rpm. Gearbox and top speed is same as CT100.
Bajaj Platina / CT range prices increased – April 2021
Bajaj Platina Range – April 2021 prices
Platina range starts with 100 KS Alloy variant, which will now retail at Rs 52,915. This is an increase of Rs 749 over the earlier price. Platina 100 ES Drum variant is now priced at Rs 54,669, as compared to Rs 53,920 earlier.
Platina 110 ES ABS new price is Rs 67,424, which is Rs 1,504 more than earlier. Platina ABS was launched in March at Rs 66k. It can be described as a disruptive move by Bajaj, as currently there’s no other bike in this segment to offer ABS.
Platina ABS targets users who want to have better safety in their everyday commutes. Talking about Platina 110 H-Gear Disc, the motorcycle is now cheaper, priced at Rs 63,424. The earlier price was Rs 64,301.
Revised prices for CT and Platina range look reasonable and are unlikely to adversely impact sales. Even with the increased prices, Bajaj CT and Platina range will continue to be the most affordable commuter motorcycles in the country. More

Bajaj Pulsar RS200 Price Hike April 2021 – New Price Rs 1.57 L?

Image – MRD VlogsBajaj Pulsar RS200 competes against the likes of Yamaha YZF R15 and Suzuki Gixxer 250 SF
It is the season of price hikes as automotive brands continue to battle shortage of parts, increase in transport cost, etc. Almost all manufacturers hike prices of all or some of their products during this period. Bajaj Auto too has decided to increase prices of Pulsar RS200.
It is to be noted that in the last round of price hikes, it was the Pulsar RS200 which did not receive any price hike. And this time, the flagship Pulsar has gotten its due price hike.
    New Price April 2021
Although the latest price hike is not reflected on the company’s official website as of yet but dealer reports suggest that the faired sports bike is bound to receive a significant price increment of Rs 5,005. As per certain media reports, Pulsar RS200 will now be retailed at a price of Rs 1,57,184 (ex-showroom).
That is a substantial hike considering the bike receives no updates of any sort. Pulsar RS200 was supposed to mark the beginning of the faired lineup of Pulsar motorcycles but unfortunately, it hasn’t received an overwhelming response.

    5,005

This also kept Bajaj from giving the motorcycle any significant update since its launch. Also, the price at which it has been offered makes better sense for customers to save a few bucks and settle for the Pulsar 220F.
With the latest price revision, it is now directly pitted against Yamaha YZF R15 V3.0. While the former has more horses to offer, the latter offers better control on the road and also more features. Pulsar RS200 is one quick motorcycle, probably the quickest in its segment, and we don’t have the slightest doubt. However, its on-road performance does not justify the high price it demands.
    Mechanical Specifications
In its BS6 avatar, Pulsar RS200 is powered by a 199.5cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that pumps out 24.1 bhp at 9750rpm and a peak torque of 18.7 Nm at 8000rpm. This unit is coupled with a six-speed gearbox and can clock a top speed of 141 kmph. The suspension setup of the motorcycle consists of telescopic forks at front and a mono-shock at rear. Braking duties are handled by 300mm disc at front and 230mm disc at rear respectively that are assisted by dual-channel ABS.
    Features on offer
As far as features are concerned, it is offered with twin-projector LED headlamps, a semi-digital instrument console, clip-on handlebars and backlit switchgear. The instrument console reads out information from the speedometer, odometer, fuel gauge and service-due indicator. It is available in a solitary trim with three colour options- Burnt Red, Metallic Pearl White and Pewter Grey.

Bajaj Two Wheeler Sales March 2021 – Pulsar, Avenger, Dominar, CT100

Image – MRD VlogsBajaj Auto two wheeler sales increased 84 percent while exports were up 32 percent in the past month
Bajaj Auto Limited, leading two wheeler and commercial vehicle makers in India have released their sales figures for March 2021. Positive sales can be seen across both two wheeler and domestic sales and exports while commercial vehicle domestic sales dipped marginally.

Comparing sales to March of 2020 is not really an ideal yardstick considering the lockdown in view of the COVID-19 pandemic was introduced on 24th March 2020 leading to shut down of plants and showrooms across the country. For March 2021, two wheelers performing well in sales were Pulsar, CT100, Platina, Avenger, Dominar, etc.

YTD 2 Wheeler and CV Sales
The period April 2020 to March 2021 has been one of much constraint for the auto industry. Coming out of the period of lockdown took its toll on sales which increased slowly but steadily.
Bajaj Auto reported a de-growth in terms of two wheeler sales in domestic markets which dipped 13 percent from 20,78,348 units in the April to March 2020 period to 18,09,375 units in the same period this year. Exports also dipped 4 percent from 18,69,220 units shipped during April to March 2020 to 17,96,518 units in the April to March 2021 period. This took total YTD sales of two wheelers down 9 percent to 36,05,893 units.
    Bajaj Auto Sales FY 20/21
Total commercial vehicle YTD sales experienced a 45 percent de-growth to 3,67,021 units down from 6,67,644 units sold in April to March 2020 with both domestic sales and exports dipping 70 percent and 15 percent respectively.

This took total YTD sales to 39,72,914 units, down 14 percent as against 46,15,212 sold in the same period of last year.
Bajaj is actively testing the new Pulsar 250, slated to come in with a new engine and several feature updates which could bring in better sales once launched. More

Bajaj Chetak Vs TVS iQube Electric Scooter Sales Feb 2021

Bajaj Chetak Electric ScooterFor customers who prefer established brands, choices are fairly limited to Bajaj Chetak and TVS iQube
Electric two-wheeler segment in India has been witnessing frantic activity in recent times, as more than a dozen startups have launched their products in the market. However, trusting an entirely new player can be a bit tough for consumers. This is why many people prefer to go with established brands. In that case, one can choose either Chetak or iQube.
Chetak vs. iQube February 2021 sales
In February 2021, Bajaj Chetak sales stood at 150 units. In comparison, TVS iQube sold a total of 203 units. If we look at YoY growth, Chetak has gained 50%, as compared to 100 units sold in February last year. iQube has much higher percentage YoY growth at 434.21%. iQube sales in February last year were just 38 units.
This is the second consecutive month when iQube sales are higher than Chetak. It’s not due to any reduction in demand for Chetak, but only because Bajaj has been facing problems on the supply side. As reported earlier, there is currently a global shortage of semiconductors. Chetak utilizes a number of imported components and their short supply has resulted in production constraints.
Bajaj Chetak has quite a healthy order book of more than 1,500 units. Also, Chetak still leads in cumulative sales. From April 2020 to February 2021, Chetak’s cumulative sales are at 1305 units. In comparison, iQube cumulative sales are 755 units during the same period.
Bajaj Chetak vs TVS iQube Sales – Feb 2021
It is likely that the supply situation has improved for Bajaj since last month. That’s why we can see a big jump in MoM sales in February, as compared to 30 units sold in January.
TVS iQube on the other hand has negative MoM growth, as compared to 211 units sold in January. However, it’s good to see that the number is still above the 200 mark.

EV plans of other two-wheeler manufacturers
Other two wheeler manufacturers such as Hero MotoCorp, Honda, Suzuki, and Yamaha are yet to enter this space. Most of these companies are planning to enter the electric two-wheeler segment, but a definitive timeline is not available as of now. Surprisingly, newcomers like Ola Electric are moving much faster in this segment.
As may be recalled, Ola is currently building the world’s largest electric two-wheeler manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu. When complete, the state-of-the-art facility will have production capacity of 10 million units per annum. It is possible that Ola’s ambitious move may provide the right motivation to other two-wheeler manufacturers to speed up their EV plans. More
