New Bajaj Pulsar 250 Vs Yamaha FZ25 Vs Suzuki Gixxer 250 – Specs Compared

New Bajaj Pulsar 250cc LaunchedAll three quarter-litre motorcycles in this space are closely specced to each other, price and engine output being the only major differentiation
Bajaj has finally launched its flagship model in the Pulsar range of motorcycles- Pulsar 250 in two iterations. The naked one is called N250 while the semi-faired version is named F250. Most of the specifications of Pulsar 250 are on the expected lines as it has been covered vigorously over the last few months.
Pulsar 250 directly competes against its Japanese rivals- Yamaha FZ25 and Suzuki Gixxer 250. Like Pulsar 250, Gixxer 250 is offered in two iterations- naked and semi-faired (SF 250) whereas FZ25 is only offered as a naked streetfighter. The naked and semi-faired iterations of both Pulsar and Gixxer are similar, barring their styling.
New Bajaj Pulsar 250 Vs Yamaha FZ25 Vs Suzuki Gixxer 250
While design is purely a subjective thing, each of the motorcycles mentioned above looks sharp. However, if one wants to opt for a faired look, then FZ25 cannot be the choice. While exact dimensions of Pulsar 250 haven’t been revealed yet, it offers a wheelbase of 1351 mm which is bang in between FZ25 (1340 mm) and Gixxer (1360 mm). Pulsar 250 is also the heaviest among its rivals at 162 kg for N250 and 164 kg for F250.
On the other hand, FZ25 is the lightest in the category. Both Pulsar and Gixxer offer a ground clearance of 165 mm while FZ25 offers 160 mm of ground clearance. Seat height of all three bikes is around the same region from 795 mm to 800 mm. The main difference among these three models is that Pulsar 250 is based on a tubular frame while the other two are based on a diamond frame.
New Bajaj Pulsar 250 Vs Yamaha FZ25 Vs Suzuki Gixxer 250
    Powertrain Specs & Features
Coming to powertrain, all three are powered by a 249cc single-cylinder SOHC engine. However, Gixxer 250 churns out the highest output of 26 bhp and 22.2 Nm. The reason behind this is while others offer a 2-valve setup, Suzuki offers a 4-valve setup in Gixxer 250.
FZ25 is by far the least powerful in the segment. While Gixxer 250 is paired with a 6-speed gearbox, Pulsar 250 and FZ25 are offered with a 5-speed transmission.
All three motorcycles offer more or less the same amount of features with a few variations. Common features on all three motorcycles include LED headlight, LED taillight and automatic headlight. While Pulsar 250 is the only one to offer a USB charger as standard, it misses out on a fully digital instrument cluster and a dual-channel ABS, like its compatriots.
New Bajaj Pulsar 250 Vs Yamaha FZ25 Vs Suzuki Gixxer 250
    Price
Coming to prices, Gixxer 250 is the priciest among them with both its naked and semi-faired iterations priced at Rs 1.71 lakh and Rs 1.83 lakh. Pulsar 250 trunks out to be the most affordable in this space with prices of Rs 1.38 lakh and Rs 1.40 lakh for the naked version and semi-faired version respectively. More

Bajaj Auto has launched the 2021 Dominar 400 which comes with new factory-fitted accessories. The latest iteration of the sports tourer comes at a price of Rs 2.17 lakh (ex-showroom). The new accessory package is offered as a standard fitment and comprises strong touring essentials which make the bike more touring friendly.
The company has optimised the accessory package for long-distance touring and consists of a long list of add-ons including handguards, a tall visor, leg guard, engine bash plate, USB Charging Port, navigation stay, saddle stay and carrier and back stopper. The new model comes at a premium of Rs 5,000 over the outgoing model. The older variant is discontinued. The Dominar 400 is now only on offer with this factory-fitted accessories version.
    2021 Bajaj Dominar 400 Update – New touring-friendly accessories
Considering the number of standard accessories included in the package, the marginal hike in price seems very justified. The additional accessories have also lent Dominar 400 a refreshed styling which now looks ready to go touring.
In its new avatar, Dominar 400 gets a more distinctive front end with an angular and taller visor. The bike also features aerodynamically sculpted fighter jet-inspired handguards with flexi-winglets for maximum wind protection.
    2021 Bajaj Dominar 400
The addition of a luggage carrier not only offers an aesthetic appeal but is also a functional upgrade which makes it more touring friendly. Attached to the luggage carrier is a back stopper that ensures comfort to the pillion during long distances. The stylish engine bash plate with an integrated metal skid plate and a discreet leg guard offer good impact protection.
The Chakan-based manufacturer has also installed a navigation stay where the rider can install his/her navigation device. Further, Dominar 400 is also offered with a USB charging port to keep one’s phone connected. Apart from all accessories mentioned above, Bajaj is also offering a saddle stay which will be a paid accessory. This add-on will be available at the dealership level and can be bought at an undisclosed price.
    Engine & Hardware Specs
Other than the added accessory package, nothing has been changed on Dominar 400. Powering the sports tourer is the same 373.3cc DOHC single-cylinder liquid-cooled motor which pumps out 39.5 bhp and 35 Nm of peak torque. This unit is paired with a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch.

Bajaj Dominar 250 Sales Down To 4 Units Ahead Of New Pulsar Launch

Image – Throttle 98Dominar 250 could face cannibalization if Pulsar 250 is competitively priced and offers more value to customers
Launched last year in March, Dominar 250 is one of the most affordable 250cc bikes in the country. It is currently available at a starting price of Rs 1.59 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The bike will soon face competition from one of its own – Pulsar 250. The latter is scheduled for launch on October 28. Ahead of that, Dominar 250 sales have nosedived in September.
    Dominar 250 September sales
Bajaj offers a wide range of motorcycles in the 250cc range. Apart from Dominar 250, they have the Husqvarna twins Svartpilen and Vitpilen, then the KTM Duke 250 and ADV 250. This week will see the launch of Pulsar NS250 and Pulsar 250F.
With production constrained due to global shortage of parts, it is likely that Dominar 250 production numbers are low so that they could more units of the Pulsar 250 Twins. Bajaj has not said anything about discontinuing Dominar 250. In fact, they have been more bullish on the 250cc segment than anyone else in the industry.
From 440 units in August, Dominar 250 sales have dropped to just 4 units in September. Many potential buyers would have adopted a wait and watch policy. They are expected to take a decision once Pulsar 250 is launched. It remains to be seen which among the two emerges as favourite.
Bajaj Dominar Sales Last 12 Months
In the last 12 months, Dominar 250 sales have averaged 560 units per month. Its bigger sibling Dominar 400 appears to be doing relatively better with average monthly sales of 741 units. Dominar 250 sales are likely below expectation, even though the bike is competitively priced. Earlier this year in July, Bajaj had even reduced price of Dominar 250 from Rs 1.71 lakh to Rs 1.54 lakh.
A reduction of 17k was significant, especially at a time when most manufacturers have raised prices of their two-wheelers multiple times this year. However, price cut does not seem to have made any major difference in sales. August sales of 440 units are quite less as compared to a high of 1,750 units in October last year.
Apart from pricing, Bajaj has also worked to improve the bike’s look and feel. In August, three new colour options were introduced for Dominar 250. All three are dual-tone colour options, referred to as Citrus Rush and Matt Silver, Sparkling Black and Matt Silver, and Racing Red and Matt Silver. These have significantly enhanced the bike’s sporty profile.
    Dominar 250 vs. Pulsar 250
Being the largest Pulsar ever, the 250cc model is expected to be a well-equipped bike. In terms of styling, Pulsar 250 sports an entirely new look. Only a limited number of features have been borrowed from existing Pulsar motorcycles. Key updates include a new semi-digital instrument console. It is possible that the bike could get Bluetooth-based connectivity features.
The bike gets a new chassis. The frame comprises a twin tubular cradle frame and there is no downtube. The bike utilizes standard telescopic forks at front and a monoshock absorber at rear. Both wheels have disc brakes and dual-channel ABS is expected to be standard. The bike will be utilizing Grimeca callipers.
Powering Pulsar 250 will be an entirely new 249cc, single cylinder, air/oil-cooled motor. It is expected to generate 24 bhp of max power and 20 Nm of peak torque. It will be mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The bike is expected to get advanced features like assist and sipper clutch and variable valve actuation (VVA). In comparison, Dominar 250 has a 248.77 cc, liquid cooled motor that generates 27 ps / 23.5 Nm. It has 37mm USD forks at front. More

Bajaj Pulsar 250cc Twins Spied Up Close – New Details Revealed

New Bajaj Pulsar 250FWhile prices of the new Pulsar 250 will be announced on October 28, deliveries of the new quarter-litre motorcycle are likely to start in Nov
The new Bajaj Pulsar 250 is one of the most hotly anticipated motorcycle launches of the year and it is arriving at a time when bookings usually skyrocket. The upcoming launch also marks the 20th Anniversary of the Pulsar brand of sporty commuter motorcycles.
Ahead of its launch on October 28, the upcoming quarter-litre motorcycles have been spied in detail by The Fat Biker. As already established by now, the new Pulsar 250 will be available in two iterations- Pulsar NS250 and Pulsar 250F. The former will be a naked streetfighter whereas the latter will be a semi-faired sports commuter.
Both versions of the bike flaunt an aggressive front face featuring a single-pod LED headlamp cluster and integrated LED DRLs which look sleeker and sharper than previous iterations of Pulsars. The most noticeable difference between the two variants of Pulsar 250 is that, unlike 250F, the NS250 will not feature a prominent front apron.
Bajaj Pulsar 250cc Twins – Design
The semi-faired 250F takes styling inspiration from its smaller sibling 220F and sports a large front apron comprising a headlamp cowl and a windscreen that integrates into the side fairing. Other than the extended tank shrouds, NS250 doesn’t feature any body panels. 250F offers a clip-on handlebar that is more pulled back and raised towards the rider.
    Bajaj Pulsar NS 250
The naked streetfighter, on the other hand, gets a straight line handlebar which leads to a slightly more committed riding posture. Some common highlights on both motorcycles include split grab rails, a side-mounted twin-barrel exhaust canister, a split LED taillight design, a raised tails section, an engine underbelly cowl and a rear tyre hugger attached to the swingarm.
    Hardware Configurations & Features
Underpinning both quarter-litre motorcycles is a brand new chassis comprising a twin tubular cradle frame with no downtube. This frame will be suspended on conventional 41mm telescopic forks at front and a preload-adjustable mono-shock linked to the swingarm at rear. Braking duties will be carried out by single disc brakes at both wheels while the rotors will be clamped down by calipers sourced from Grimeca.
These will be aided by a dual-channel ABS as standard. Talking of features, the new Pulsar 250 will receive a new semi-digital instrument console which could be enabled with Bluetooth. There is no elaborate control setup on the switchgear of the handlebar to suggest the presence of any rider aids. Take a look at the detailed spy video below.
    [embedded content]
    Expected Engine Specs
Powering the new Pulsar 250 will be a new 249cc single-cylinder air/oil-cooled engine that is likely to push out 24 bhp and 20 Nm of peak torque. This unit will be mated to a six-speed gearbox with a slipper and assist clutch. Although Bajaj has patented the Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) technology a few months back, it is yet to be seen if the company will employ this in the new quarter-litre motor. More

Bajaj Chetak Vs TVS iQube – Electric Scooter Sales Sep 2021

Bajaj Chetak Electric Scooter In New Topaz Blue ColourIncreasing fuel prices have worked as a catalyst to boost electric two-wheeler sales in the country
While there is no dearth of electric two-wheeler brands in the country, Chetak and iQube are currently the only ones offered by established auto companies. Barring a few months, combined sales of Chetak and iQube have consistently risen since January 2021. From 241 units in January, sales are now at 1,408 units in September.
This could be indicative of growing consumer confidence in electric two-wheelers. The shift is happening due to several reasons including rising fuel prices and subsidies announced by the government.
Prices of many electric two-wheelers are now at par with popular petrol-powered two-wheelers. With subsidies, some electric scooters are even priced lower than popular petrol scooters. Adequate range and availability of charging infrastructure are other factors contributing to increasing sales of electric vehicles.
Electric Scooter Sales – 5X YoY growth
Combined sales of Chetak and iQube was 295 units in September last year. Comparing with September 2021, the numbers have risen quite close to 5X in YoY terms. Since June this year, combined sales of Chetak and iQube has been consistently above the 1k mark. Total sales during Jan-Sep period are 6,667 units. TVS iQube is ahead with 3,670 units, as compared to 2,997 units of Bajaj Chetak.
Bajaj Chetak vs TVS iQube – Sep 2021 Sales
Chetak sales in September is at 642 units. YoY numbers have more than doubled, as compared to 288 units sold in September last year. Chetak MoM growth is at 76.37%, as compared to 364 units sold in August 2021. iQube sales in September is at 766 units. YoY growth is 10843%, as compared to 7 units sold in September last year. MoM growth is 18.03%, as compared to 649 units sold in August 2021.
Bajaj Chetak vs TVS iQube In 2021
    Shortage of auto components
While global shortage of auto components has affected most OEMs, companies like Bajaj are among the ones who have been hit hardest. This is why sales are on the slower side despite getting high number of bookings. The shortage situation, especially that of semiconductors is expected to continue till next year. Tech companies worldwide are making fresh investments to open new facilities and boost production at existing units. Supply situation may take several months to return back to normal.
In the near future, other mainstream auto companies like Honda and Hero MotoCorp are expected to launch their respective electric two-wheelers. Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) is expected to launch their electric scooter by next fiscal year. Honda BENLY e electric scooter has already been spotted testing here. However, it’s not certain if India will get BENLY e electric scooter or some other model. The electric scooter being planned by Honda will be targeted at global markets as well.
Hero MotoCorp is expected to launch its first electric product in March 2022. Another model will be launched in second half of next year. Hero had partnered with Taiwan-based EV manufacturer Gogoro to develop its electric scooters. Gogoro will also be involved in developing battery swapping infrastructure for Hero’s upcoming electric two-wheelers. Bajaj and TVS will be observing these developments closely. More

New Bajaj Pulsar 250 Teased For The First Time – Official

    New Bajaj Pulsar 250
Biggest Pulsars till date will be launched on Oct 28, as part of the brand’s 20th anniversary celebrations
It was in November 2001 that Bajaj Pulsar 150 and Pulsar 180 were launched in the Indian market. Priced competitively, the bikes can be credited with popularizing performance-oriented biking in the country. Over the years, Pulsar range has been expanded to include several new products. Pulsar motorcycles continue to be bestsellers for the company.
    Bajaj Pulsar 250 Teased
NS250 is expected to borrow some of the styling bits from existing naked NS motorcycles such as NS160 and NS200. On the same lines, 250F could have some features similar to that of Pulsar 220F. It is likely that Pulsar 250cc twins will utilize a new platform. Both bikes could share features such as headlamp and LED DRLs. They appear to have an aggressive front fascia.
Talking about differences between the two bikes, NS250 utilizes a minimalistic front cowl in comparison to the larger, puffed-up unit used on 250F. On 250F, the front fairing merges seamlessly with the tank shrouds. NS250 has a small flyscreen, which is largely there as visual aid. 250F has a much larger flyscreen that should provide adequate wind protection.
While the rear-view mirrors are the same, they are mounted differently. On NS250, the rear-view mirrors are placed on the handlebar. 250F has it on the front apron. Other things like front fender, engine cowl, crash guard, tail section and rear LED taillight appear to be the same on both bikes. Other key features include split-seat design, split grab rails, side-mounted twin-barrel exhaust canister and rear tyre hugger. Below is the first official teaser of the new Bajaj Pulsar 250.
    [embedded content]
In terms of ergonomics, both bikes appear to have a comfortable riding stance. Foot pegs are centrally located on both bikes. One difference though is that 250F appears to have a slightly raised handlebar. In comparison, NS250 appears to use low set handlebar. This should allow a more committed riding posture, as and when needed.
Pulsar NS250 and 250F engine and specs
It is expected that Pulsar NS250 and 250F will get an entirely new 249cc engine. This will be different from the ones currently in use with Dominar 250 and KTM 250cc bikes. The new engine could churn out 24 bhp of max power and 20 Nm of peak torque. It will be mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
Bajaj is expected to equip its biggest Pulsars with advanced tech such as variable valve actuation (VVA) and assist and slipper clutch. This will allow the new Pulsars to compete effectively with rival products from Suzuki and Yamaha. In other updates, the bikes could get Bluetooth-based connectivity features.
Suspension system for Pulsar 250cc motorcycles comprises standard telescopic forks at front and a monoshock unit at rear. Braking duties will be performed by disc brakes at both ends. Dual-channel ABS will be offered as standard. More
