2023 Bajaj Pulsar 125 E20 Gets FI Engine – New Alloys, Colours, Features

Bajaj has replaced the electronic carburetor on 2023 Pulsar 125 with a fuel injector, which should ensure better efficiency and performance2023 Bajaj Pulsar 125Bajaj Pulsar 125 has received an update for MY2023. Updated models reached dealerships and deliveries have also started. As part of the update, Bajaj has made significant changes to its powertrain to make it RDE-compliant and E20 fuel compatible. This is part of the BS6 Phase II emission norms transition. OBD-II diagnostics is also a part of this update, monitoring emissions and engine parameters in real-time.2023 Pulsar 125 – Goodbye Carburetor, Hello FI, E20 EngineBike Point By Mintu&Rahul channel has uploaded a detailed walkaround of 2023 Bajaj Pulsar 125 Neon Edition. Pulsar 125 Neon Edition Single Seat Disc variant price to be Rs. 1.01 lakh (on-road, WB). This pricing undercuts most of its rivals from Honda, TVS and Hero MotoCorp.2023 Bajaj Pulsar 125 – New AlloysTo get Pulsar 125 to meet new norms, Bajaj has ditched the electronic carburetor from pre-BS6 P2 era. In its place, we now get a much more efficient fuel injector. There will be a change in engine tuning as well, to take full benefits of a fuel injector. Bajaj will likely equip 2023 Pulsar 125 with a new ECU measuring various external factors to best optimise air-fuel ratio in real-time.Benefits of a FI over a carburetor are many. For starters, there is better atomization of the charge. A carburetor can’t adjust air-fuel ratio on its own with varied altitude, pressure, temperature and other external factors. With the new fuel injector, there might be an increase in fuel efficiency as well.[embedded content][embedded content]Bajaj has made another major change to Pulsar 125. Pre-BS6 P2 Pulsar 125 came with twin spark technology. Bajaj calls it DTS-i and Pulsar 125’s engine casing had this branding as well. With 2023 Pulsar 125, there is just one spark plug and engine casing now gets Bajaj branding instead of DTS-i.2023 Bajaj Pulsar 125New Cosmetic & Functional Upgrades For Better Commuting ExperienceThe walkaround video only shows the Pulsar 125 Neon Edition Single Seat Disc Brake variant. Aforementioned changes will be applicable to other variants of Neon Edition and Carbon Fibre Edition as well. Pulsar 125’s graphics get subtle revisions too.Pulsar 125 looks a lot more stylish with the new alloy wheel design, replacing the older 6-spoke design. Differences between Carbon Fiber and Neon editions are in aesthetics only. Primary of them is that Carbon Fiber gets a belly pan, which Neon lacks.2023 Bajaj Pulsar 125There is an overhauled instrument cluster as well. It is physically the same unit. Added features are instant fuel efficiency, average fuel efficiency and distance to empty. A Gear position indicator is lacking, though. New Pulsar 125 gets halogen headlights, turn indicators and pilot lamps, LED tail lights and illuminated switchgear and more.Change In Numbers Expected2023 Bajaj Pulsar 125 is likely to sport different performance figures with added FI setup. For reference, the outgoing carburated model develops 11.64 bhp and 10.8 Nm and is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. Newer model retains regular telescopic front forks, rear twin shock absorbers, 80/100-17 front and 100/90-17 rear tyres. Pulsar 125 rivals include Honda SP125, TVS Raider 125, Hero Glamour XTEC and the likes. More

Bajaj Racer, Hammer, Aura Registered – New Electric Scooter, Motorcycle?

Most OEMs work proactively to register various trademarks, even though only a few may actually get launchedImage for illustration purpose onlyProduct names play an important role in shaping consumer perceptions, which is why a lot of time is spent to find the best names possible. Pulsar is a relevant example that single-handedly changed the fortunes of the company. OEMs usually have a 5 to 10 year plan about new products to be launched. That’s where it becomes important to trademark the names in advance.OEMs like Bajaj Auto have been quite active in terms of registering new names. Recently, Bajaj Auto has registered three new names – Bajaj Aura, Bajaj Racer and Bajaj Hammer. All of these trademarks are registered under Class 12, which means they can be scooters, motorcycles, electric vehicles, etc.Bajaj registers three new names – Racer, Hammer and AuraBajaj Aura, Racer, Hammer – What could they be?Application status of all three new trademarks is ‘Formalities Chk Pass’. Bajaj Aura seems a good fit for a scooter, although Hyundai already has the Aura sedan. But a trademark clash is unlikely as Bajaj Aura won’t be the name of a 4-wheeled passenger vehicle. It is to note that Benling already has an electric scooter registered as Aura. However, it is marketed as Aura-Li. Even Hero Electric had applied for Aura trademark in 2022, but it was objected. As Bajaj does not have plans to return to ICE scooter segment, possibilities for Bajaj Aura are limited to being an electric scooter. It could be used for Bajaj’s upcoming premium electric scooter that is being developed in collaboration with KTM and Husqvarna.Bajaj Racer could be an all new electric motorcycleTalking about Bajaj Racer, the name can work for a performance machine. However, Bajaj already has the Pulsar and Dominar range. So, launching a new sub-brand of performance bikes seems unlikely. But if Bajaj is planning to launch electric motorcycles in future, the Racer name can be considered. However, the ‘Racer’ name is pretty generic. It doesn’t seem appropriate for Bajaj’s first electric motorcycle.Third trademark is Bajaj Hammer, which seems relevant for an ICE motorcycle. A bike with Hammer name was produced by American motorcycle manufacturer Victory Motorcycles. However, the company is no longer operational. Bajaj shouldn’t have any issues with using the Hammer name in Indian market. The term ‘Hammer’ exudes a sense of robustness. It can be applied to a commuter bike as well as a premium roadster or adventure bike.No clarity on launch timelinesRegistration of trademark names does not necessarily mean a potential launch. It may or may not happen. It can take years for these trademarks to reach the market or things can work out much faster. Also, unless the trademarks are ‘Registered’, it is always possible that the application could be objected to, withdrawn or sent for more detailed assessment. Last year, Bajaj had registered trademark names like Darkstar, Technik and Tecnica. These are yet to be utilized commercially. More

The smaller of Bajaj Triumph motorcycle engine will displace around 250cc with up to 30 bhp and a larger 350cc will produce over 40 bhpBajaj Triumph 350cc MotorcycleBritish brand Triumph has partnered with Bajaj to launch affordable entry level motorcycles in the 250cc to 500cc segment. Multiple motorcycles will be launched, one of them has now been spied testing near Bajaj Auto plant on the outskirts of Pune.Aims to eat into Royal Enfield’s 350cc market shareLaunch of the first Bajaj Triumph 350cc motorcycle is expected later this year. Price is expected to be in the Rs 2 lakh to Rs 2.5 lakh, ex-sh range. In this segment, Royal Enfield dominates with over 90% market share. Their range of 350cc machines include Classic, Bullet, Meteor and Hunter. Together, they register sales in the region of 60k units per month in the 350cc segment.2023 Bajaj Triumph Motorcycle – New Spy ShotsBajaj has been trying to eat into the market share of Royal Enfield for quite some time. They launched the Dominar brand to do that, but that did not deliver expected results. With the Triumph partnership, Bajaj is making yet another attempt. For starters, there will be two engine options on offer under the entry-segment Bajaj-Triumph motorcycles. Both of them are constructed with a single-cylinder architecture. One displaces 250cc and the other displaces 350cc.2023 Bajaj Triumph Motorcycle – New Spy ShotsFeatures on offer will include liquid cooling, slipper clutch, quick shifter, ABS, ride-by-wire and more. It is likely that Triumph might only launch 250cc models in India, while 350cc motorcycles could be reserved for export markets. Engine specs are not out. But the 250cc version is expected to deliver about 30 bhp while the bigger 350cc unit could deliver about 40 bhp of max power.Body style options with Bajaj Triumph MotorcyclesSpeaking of body styles, there are going to be 4 options. A Roadster and a Scrambler are already known as they have been spotted testing before. The other two are a Cafe Racer and a Flat Tracker. Given Triumph’s naming scheme, we can expect that roadster model to be named Street 250, Street 350. Scrambler 250 and Scrambler 350.These will don USD front forks, retro vibes, round headlights, blackened engine bay and a clean tail. Scrambler gets a small windscreen, a front beak, knuckle guards, dual-barrel exhaust and block pattern tyres. Design language can be traced back to Triumph’s bigger motorcycles in their respective genre.Triumph makes Thruxton cafe racer as well. The cafe racer from Bajaj Triumph motorcycle is likely to take the same design language as Thruxton. As of now, Triumph doesn’t manufacture flat trackers. If this Bajaj Triumph platform will spawn a flat tracker, it will be the first-ever, from Triumph. Launch is expected later this year.Source More

KTM 650cc Duke, RC, ADV Incoming – Made In India At Bajaj Plant

While domestic demand will be limited for made-in-India twin-cylinder KTM bikes, the investment cost will be justifiable with aggressive targeting of export marketsKTM RC 650 Render for illustration purposeEarlier this year in January, Bajaj-KTM partnership achieved a key sales milestone of 1 million units. The one-millionth unit to roll out of Bajaj’s plant was a KTM 390 Adventure. Going forward, Bajaj-KTM partnership will be further strengthened, as KTM is planning to manufacture its new low-cost twin-cylinder bikes in India. While the 490cc parallel-twin project has been abandoned, KTM has shifted focus to a new 690cc platform. It was earlier reported that the 690 platform will be manufactured by CFMoto in China. However, there has been a change in plans, with possibilities being explored for manufacturing the new 690 platform in India as well.Upcoming KTM Duke 390. Image – The Fat BikerKTM new 650cc twin-cylinder platform (made-in-India)KTM will be using the existing 790 Duke platform to develop the new 690 platform. It could also be a 650cc version. While the 490 platform was cancelled, the new 690 platform has a better chance to succeed from a business perspective. That’s because there’s growing demand in this segment, especially in markets like India. As of now, Royal Enfield 650 twins dominate this space with market share of more than 75%. Super Meteor 650 is also available and RE has plans to introduce more bikes in this segment.KTM ADVKTM is currently in discussions with Bajaj to chalk out the finer details of the proposed 690 platform. KTM-Bajaj will be working to finalize plans for the supply chain that will be needed for manufacturing the 690 bikes in India. KTM CEO Stefan Pierer has assured that the 690 platform will definitely happen over the next two years. The first 690 bike is likely to be a Duke. Later, KTM could also introduce other formats such as RC and Adventure.KTM 690 export plansKTM’s new 690 made in India bikes will also be sold overseas in countries like Nepal, Sri Lanka, Indonesia and Australia. KTM-Bajaj partnership has already been successful in delivering top quality, all while minimizing production costs. The new 690 platform will enjoy the same set of benefits. With local manufacturing, enthusiasts can expect a more accessible price range. For reference, KTM 790 Duke (when available in India) was priced at Rs 8.64 lakh. Expect the 650cc KTMs to be priced in the Rs 5-6 lakh range.Affordable pricing will allow KTM to explore opportunities in price sensitive locations. Markets like Latin America can also be on the radar for made in India twin-cylinder KTM bikes. However, for European markets, KTM will continue to depend on CFMoto for production of its low-cost parallel twin models.KTM 650cc Duke, RC, ADV bikes could generate around 80-100 hp of max power. It will depend on how scaled-down the new platform is, in comparison to the current 790 Duke. The latter churns out 105 PS and 86 Nm. KTM new 690 platform will be getting all the advanced equipment such as traction control, quickshifter+, motor slip regulation, Supermoto Mode, motorcycle stability control with cornering ABS and ride modes of Sport, Street and Rain.Source More

Triumph-Bajaj Adventure Motorcycle Render – RE Himalayan 450 Rival

Triumph-Bajaj will be launching a range of mid-size capacity motorcycles – These could be unveiled later this year in November at EICMATriumph-Bajaj Adventure Motorcycle RenderPopularized by Royal Enfield, the 350cc space has witnessed multiple launches from the likes of Honda, Jawa and Yezdi. Joining this club soon will be two new motorcycles from Triumph-Bajaj. There will be a street roadster and its scrambler version, which will rival Royal Enfield Meteor 350 and Yezdi Scrambler / Hunter 350, respectively.Triumph-Bajaj Adventure Motorcycle RenderBoth these versions have been spied in near-production ready guise. Considering that adventure motorcycles are in demand, it is likely that the platform would spawn into an ADV motorcycle in the future. Combining the bits from the existing scrambler and roadster spy shots, rendering artist Pratyush Rout gives us a glimpse as to what could be Triumph-Bajaj adventure motorcycle.Triumph-Bajaj Adventure Motorcycle RenderJust like Bajaj-KTM partnership, Triumph new motorcycles will be manufactured by Bajaj. Design and development of these new motorcycles has been undertaken by Triumph’s UK R&D division. While the exact capacity of these bikes is not known, dimensions of the engine and exhaust suggest the likelihood of something close to 350cc-450cc. In an earlier statement, Triumph had said that its new single-cylinder bikes for India will be positioned in 250cc – 650cc range.Triumph Bajaj motorcycle featuresRetro theme is evident, with features such as round headlamp and rear view mirrors and teardrop-shaped fuel tank. Test mules have been spotted with a circular instrument dial, integrated with a squarish section towards the right. It is likely to be a semi-digital instrument console that will complement the bike’s retro styling.Triumph-Bajaj Adventure Motorcycle RenderEngine section is tightly packed and body panelling is bare minimum, which ensures a sinewy profile for the motorcycle. Other key features include single-piece seat, blacked-out engine and exhaust, crash guard, thick grab rail, upswept exhaust and sleek tail section. Riding ergonomics will be fairly comfortable, suitable for both city commutes and highway cruising. While the platform will be the same, scrambler version will be distinguishable with features such as windscreen and knuckle guards. Exhaust design, wheel size and choice of rubber could also be different for the scrambler. There are unlikely to be any engine tweaks for the scrambler version.Which Engine Will Power The Triumph Bajaj Mid-Size MotorcyclesAs compared to rivals in 350cc segment, Triumph-Bajaj motorcycles will have USD front forks. At rear, the bikes will have monoshock suspension. Test mules appear to be riding on 17-inch wheels at both ends, shod with relatively wider tyre at rear. Braking duties are performed by disc brakes at both ends. Dual-channel ABS will be offered as standard. Connectivity features are likely for Triumph-Bajaj sub-500cc motorcycles.Triumph-Bajaj Adventure Motorcycle RenderWhile Triumph-Bajaj new bikes seem to have potential, these are unlikely to pose any major threat to Royal Enfield. Pricing is a key factor that will determine sales volumes of these motorcycles. As of now, it’s difficult for most players to match the aggressive pricing of Royal Enfield. Triumph-Bajaj new sub-500cc motorcycles are expected to be launched at around Rs 2 lakh.In future, another challenger to Royal Enfield could come in the form of Vincent Motorcycles. The trademark for this name was recently acquired by Bajaj. Apart from Indian market, Vincent motorcycles could also be targeted at global markets, especially Europe.Disclaimer – Design renders presented in this blog are solely for illustrative purposes and have not been commissioned, approved, or endorsed by the manufacturer.
