    Bajaj Sales Breakup November 2023 – Domestic Sales Surge 76% YoY

    Bajaj Auto has seen increased demand for its Pulsar and Platina range both in domestic and export marketsBajaj Auto Limited has reported outstanding success in domestic markets in November 2023. Total sales (domestic + exports) grew to 3,32,223 units in November 2023 up from 2,49,731 units sold in November 2022. This related to a volume growth of 82,492 units. It was however a MoM de-growth when compared to total sales (domestic + exports) at 3,88,428 units in October 2023.Bajaj Auto Domestic Sales November 2023Total domestic sales were up 76.37 percent YoY while exports on the other hand fell by 6.65 percent in the past month. The company is set to expand its high-in-demand 125cc Pulsar range and the new P125 has been spied on test. Once launched, it will rival the TVS Raider 125, Honda SP 125 and Hero Glamour XTEC.There are also plans to introduce upgrades to 6 of the Pulsar models in the 125-200cc range by March 2024. Bajaj Auto sales in domestic markets improved by 76.37 percent YoY to 2,10,532 units in November 2023, up from 1,19,367 units sold in November 2022. This led to volume growth of 91,165 units. Among the company portfolio, it was the Pulsar and Platina that saw increased sales along with the CT, Chetak and Avenger.Sales of Dominar, however, fell marginally. Pulsar sales were up 79.29 percent YoY to 1,30,403 units in the past month, up from 72,735 units sold in November 2022 to command a 61.94 percent share on this list. In the Pulsar range, it was the 125cc and 150cc models that commanded higher sales with 77,711 units and 28,373 units sold last month relating to a 72.03 percent and 109.62 percent YoY growth.Bajaj Sales Breakup November 2023 – DomesticPulsar 200cc sales also went up by 39.76 percent to 18,947 units from 13,557 units YoY while sales of Pulsar 250cc zoomed by 1043 percent to 5,372 units in November 2023 from just 470 units sold in November 2022. Bajaj Platina sales also went up by 79.83 percent YoY to 60,607 units from 33,702 units sold in November 2022 with a 28.79 percent share.Pulsar leads the charts for Bajaj in domestic marketCT sales were higher by 15.69 percent YoY to 8,643 units from 7,471 units sold in November 2022 with the 110cc model commanding higher attention with a 98.26 percent YoY growth with 6,957 units sold last month. The CT 125cc however, saw lower sales down 57.45 percent YoY to 1,686 units. Bajaj Chetak, currently the 3rd best-selling electric scooter in the country, saw a total of 8,472 units sold last month, up 153.20 percent YoY over 1,300 units sold in November 2022.The company plans updated versions of this electric scooter with features such as a larger battery pack, TFT colour instrument display with Bluetooth and turn by turn navigation, etc, which will allow it to compete even better with Ola Electric and TVS iQube. Avenger sales grew by 24 percent YoY to 1,612 units while sales of Dominar dipped by 2.21 percent to 795 units in November 2023.Bajaj Exports dip in November 2023Taking into account total exports in the past month, there were 1,21,691 units shipped, relating to a 6.65 percent YoY de-growth when compared to 1,30,364 units exported in November 2022. In the export list, it was the Boxer that saw highest demand at 63,936 units, though it was a YoY de-growth of 20.58 percent when compared to 80,500 units shipped in November 2022.Bajaj Sales Breakup November 2023 – ExportsThe Boxer currently commands a 52.54 percent share with its 110cc model commanding the highest demand at 45,784 units while there were 7,604 units of the Boxer 125cc exported last month along with 10,548 units of Boxer 150cc. Pulsar exports were up 29.26 percent YoY to 31,392 units in November 2023 with Pulsar 200cc seeing higher demand by 41.06 percent to 16,346 units. Pulsar 125cc (3,934 units), Pulsar 150cc (8,442 units) and Pulsar 250cc (2,670 units) made up the balance exports.While Bajaj CT exports dipped 24.79 percent YoY to 14,112 units, that of Discover improved by 164.67 percent to 7,252 units from 2,740 units exported in November 2022. Bajaj Platina exports saw the highest YoY growth by 364.06 percent to 2,673 units. However, Dominar sales dipped 26.52 percent to 2,313 units from 3,148 units shipped in November 2022 along with the Avenger, exports of which fell by 96.29 percent YoY to just 13 units in the past month. If you can recall, Husqvarna had showcased Vektorr electric scooter concept that looked radical with its neo-retro design elements. This electric scooter is based on Bajaj’s Chetak and was spotted testing on Indian roads multiple times over the past three years.However, Vektorr name had a ‘K’ and ended with two ‘R’, while the recently trademarked word from Bajaj has a ‘C’ and just one ‘R’. Another probability is that Vector is the production-spec name of Vektorr concept that was showcased few years ago. Since Bajaj is the one manufacturing this product for Husqvarna, has filed for name trademark as well.Husqvarna Vector could very well be just for export markets as the brand’s presence in India is quite limited. It was also a growth of 6 percent on a YTD basis, taking into account the period April-November 2023.Bajaj Auto YoY Sales November 2023Taking into account year-on-year (YoY) sales of Bajaj Auto, total sales (2W + CV) (domestic + exports) stood at 4,03,003 units in November 2023, up 31 percent from 3,06,719 units sold in November 2022. It was however, a MoM de-growth from 4,71,188 units sold in October 2023.Bajaj Sales Nov 2023In the two wheeler segment, growth was seen across domestic markets by 77 percent to 2,18,597 units, from 1,23,657 units sold in November 2022. Exports on the other hand dipped by 6 percent to 1,30,451 units in the past month from 1,38,630 units sold in November 2022. This took total sales in the 2W segment up 33 percent to 3,49,048 units from 2,62,287 units sold in November 2022.Commercial vehicle sales on the other hand also saw growth in domestic markets by 34 percent YoY to 39,147 units in November 2023, up from 29,226 units sold in November 2022. Exports fell by 3 percent to 14,808 units in the past month from 15,206 units sold in the same month last year. Exports however, ended on a lower note. Total sales (2W + CV) (domestic + exports) stood at 29,55,551 units in the Apr-Nov 2023 period from 27,86,615 units sold in the same period of 2022.Two wheeler sales accounted for a 22 percent growth in domestic markets to 15,45,334 units, up from 12,65,340 units sold in the 2022 period. Exports fell by 18 percent to 9,82,771 units in the Apr-Nov 2023 period from 12,05,042 units sold in the same period last year. This took total sales in the segment up 35 percent to 4,27,446 units in the Apr-Nov 2023 period from 3,16,233 units sold in Apr-Nov 2022.Commercial vehicle sales grew substantially to 3,21,140 units in domestic markets, an 81 percent growth YTD from 1,77,671 units sold in the same 8 month period of 2022. Exports once again dipped 23 percent to 1,06,306 units in the 2023 period down from 1,38,562 units sold in YTD 2022. Total sales in the segment thus improved by 35 percent to 4,27,446 units from 3,16233 units on a YTD basis.     Bajaj Chetak To Get Updates – Higher Range, New Features

    New Bajaj Chetak SpiedWith USPs such as robust steel body and reliable performance, Bajaj Chetak has been consistently increasing its customer baseLaunched in 2020, Bajaj Chetak had a relatively slow start due to limited availability. Now that the network has been expanded to cover most parts of the country, Chetak sales are on the rise. In October, Chetak was the third best selling electric two-wheeler. To keep up the momentum, Bajaj will soon launch updated versions of Chetak electric scooter.Bajaj Chetak electric – New variants, larger batteryUpdated Chetak electric scooter will be available in Urbane and Premium trims. As of now, only the Premium trim is available. Earlier this year in March, Bajaj had presented the 2023 model in Base and Premium trims. But the Base trim was discontinued in August. With the addition of Urbane trim, users will have more options to choose from.New Bajaj ChetakTo reduce gaps in range and performance vis-à-vis rival brands, Chetak will be getting a larger battery pack. The top-spec Premium variant will now be equipped with a 3.2 kWh battery pack. It has an ARAI certified range of 126 km. With the larger battery pack, there could be a change in charging time. With a standard 5A plug, the existing Premium variant can achieve a full charge in 5 hours.Another key update will be a new TFT colour instrument display. It will have Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation. The TFT screen is expected to be approximately 5 to 7 inches in size. These tech integrations will appeal to younger audiences, who form a significant chunk of electric two-wheeler buyers.New Bajaj ChetakUsers can expect improved performance and possibly a higher top speed, as updated Chetak will be utilizing a 4.25 kW (5.7 bhp) BLDC electric motor. The current model has a top speed of 63 km/h. Talking about the Urbane variant, it is expected to work as a replacement for the existing Premium variant. The 2.9 kWh battery pack will be the same. But the range will be increased by 5 km, from existing 108 km to 113 km. Urbane variant is also expected to have a higher top speed.Updated Bajaj Chetak launch details, pricingJanuary 2024 could be a good time to launch the updated Chetak. However, the launch could take place sooner in December. As far as pricing is concerned, the top-spec Premium trim could get costlier by around Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000. The current model starts at an ex-showroom price of Rs 1.15 lakh in Bengaluru. There are three colour options, all with the same price. Electric scooter prices vary across states, based on the subsidy amount.With higher range, improved performance and new features, Bajaj Chetak is better equipped to take on rivals. Taking total sales (domestic + exports) into account, numbers stood at 3,88,428 units in October 2023, up from 3,30,266 units sold in October 2022. It was the Pulsar that was the highest-selling model lineup in domestic markets while it was the Boxer that excelled in terms of exports. Bajaj sold around 1.61 lakh units of the Pulsars in October 2023, the highest ever to date thus creating a sales record.Bajaj Pulsar leads the list with a 61% shareTotal domestic sales stood at 2,64,018 units in the past month, up 33.71 percent from 1,97,453 units sold in October 2022. This related to a volume growth of 66,565 units. It was the Bajaj Pulsar that headed the list with 161,572 units sold last month, a 41.89 percent YoY growth over 1,13,870 units sold in October 2022. This was a volume growth of 47,702 units to command a 61.20 percent market share.The Pulsar was also featured as the 3rd best-selling motorcycle last month after the Hero Splendor and Honda Shine. In the Pulsar range, it was the 125cc model that saw sales of 97,083 units. Pulsar 150cc sales stood at 32,880 units while Pulsar 200cc and 250cc sales were at 24,318 units and 7,291 units respectively with each posting a YoY growth except for the 200cc model.At No. 2 was the Platina with 74,359 units sold last month, up 28.56 percent over 57,842 units sold in October 2022 to command a 28.16 percent share in domestic markets. There was the Bajaj Chetak that saw outstanding YoY sales growth last month. With 12,137 units sold in October 2023, up from 3,756 units sold in October 2022, it related to a 223.14 percent growth. Avenger saw a 17.91 percent YoY growth in domestic sales to 2,660 units last month, up from 2,256 units sold in October 2022. It was the 200cc model that commanded most of these sales to 1,993 units while the 250cc variant recorded sales of 667 units last month. Dominar sales fell by 50.53 percent YoY to 1,404 units with both its 250cc and 500cc variants recording lower sales.Bajaj sales breakup October 2023 – ExportsWith exports of the company falling by 6.33 percent, almost all models that are on sale in global markets have reported a YoY de-growth. It was only positive sales for the Pulsar and Discover. Total exports stood at 1,24,410 units in October 2023, down from 1,32,813 units sold in October 2022. Boxer saw the highest exports at 67,218 units, though YoY exports dipped by 16.02 percent from 80,038 units shipped in October 2022.In the Boxer lineup it was the 110cc model that commanded the most attention with 50,876 units exported while there were 56,516 units of Boxer 125cc and 9,826 units of Boxer 150cc exported last month. Pulsar exports grew by 69.15 percent YoY to 33,619 units, up from 19,875 units shipped in October 2022 relating to a 13,744 unit volume growth. It was the 200cc model that received the most sales at 17,888 units last month.Bajaj Sales Breakup October 2023 – ExportBajaj CT sales dipped by 45.21 percent YoY to 11,796 units from 21,530 units exported in the same month last year. It is possible that Bajaj could be working on a 150cc commuter bike. It could be launched as CT150X.Bajaj new commuter bike – What to expect?The usual set of commuter bikes are largely pooled in 100cc to 125cc segment. At 150cc and above, the majority of bikes are positioned as performance-oriented machines. In this space, Bajaj already has Pulsar 150 and Pulsar N150. These are among the bestselling Pulsar bikes in the country. With the new 150cc commuter bike, Bajaj can provide something more relevant for the specific target market.New Bajaj commuter motorcycle spiedSpotted with heavy camouflage, the test mule wants to keep things under wraps as far as possible. However, a closer inspection does provide some hints about how the final version will look like. Some of the features that are evident include round headlamp, standard commuter-style handlebar with brace, heavy-duty front forks, a single piece seat and a standard grab rail. The bike also has an engine crash guard, rear tyre hugger and saree guard with integrated footrest. Just like CT125X, the new 150cc commuter is likely to have fork gaiters.As evident, there are enough similarities to link the test mule to a 150cc commuter bike under CT brand. Bajaj may also be looking to boost the CT range that hasn’t been doing all that great in comparison to Pulsar and Platina range. CT bikes have significantly fewer numbers than Pulsar and Platina, across both domestic and international markets. A new 150cc CT bike can probably bring about positive changes.Bajaj CT150X performanceIt is possible that Bajaj CT150X could get a tweaked version of the existing 149.50 cc engine in use with Pulsar 150. Power and torque output could be adjusted in favour of fuel efficiency. On-board Pulsar 150, the engine delivers 14 PS of max power and 13.25 Nm of peak torque. In comparison, Pulsar N150 has slightly higher numbers at 14.5 PS and 13.5 Nm. Both models have a constant mesh 5-speed gearbox.The engine being used with the test mule can be seen with fins. It indicates that this is an air-cooled engine. The bike comes with new alloy wheels. It has disc brake at front, which appears to be similar to that of CT125X. Other highlights include rugged foot pegs and hand guards.A 150cc commuter bike seems to have potential, as there aren’t many players in this space. Bajaj CT150X could especially do well across smaller cities and rural markets. The usual set of 100cc to 125cc bikes are quite popular, but they can reach their limits when subjected to heavy work. With more power and torque, a 150cc commuter bike will be appropriate for the specific needs of such markets. More

Launch must be nearing as the test mules donned zero camouflage.Bajaj Pulsar P125 spotted testing – Does it make sense?In a rather surprising move, Bajaj replaced Pulsar P150 with Pulsar N150. We say surprising because Bajaj is known to hold on to its motorcycle designs and Pulsar P range debuted in November 2022. For context, design of OG Pulsar is around 15 years old. But what happens to all the dyes, jigs and manufacturing equipment dedicated to making body parts for discontinued Pulsar P150?This is where the new Pulsar test mule comes into play. Bajaj seems to be shifting Pulsar P range from 150cc to 125cc class. Lacklustre sales registered by Pulsar P150 seem to be a primary reason for its discontinuation. 150cc Pulsar buyers sought some beef and brawn that P150 never could never bring to the table.Hence the introduction of Pulsar N150. Now Pulsar P range will re-spawn in 125cc category which makes a lot of sense for Bajaj. We say this because it is 125cc Pulsars, attracting highest footfall in showrooms and they seem to have highest conversion rates as well.Pulsar P125 – Same design as P150Sales charts reflect the same with 125cc Pulsar being Bajaj’s best-seller with 35% of the company’s total sales in September 2023. Launch is likely to happen soon and it will be positioned between OG Pulsar 125 and Pulsar NS125. Price of around Rs. 90,000 (ex-sh) would be logical too.What does the new Pulsar P125 pack?First set of spy shots reveals an overall similar silhouette to Pulsar P150. This test mule shows zero camouflage on it.
