While the engine and core cycle parts are the same across all three models, they differ in terms of their colour options and graphics.

      The new colour options on offer with the 2021 Bajaj Pulsar are white, black, red and blue. All these colour options are finished in Matte and are expected to be officially launched soon. All colours uses a mix of others.

      For example, the white Pulsar utilizes an exciting mix of red and black graphics against a white background. This triple colour combo can be seen on the headlight cowl, fuel tank, engine cowl and rear tail section. Another change can be seen on the front mudguard that gets glossy carbon fibre sticker.
      The bike utilizes a blacked-out theme, as is evident in the blacked out engine, wheels, handlebar, rear view mirrors, exhaust pipe and heat shield, side panels, and rear suspension. The combo of white and black looks striking and strips of red further enhance the motorcycle’s visual appeal.

      These new colour option for 2021 Pulsar 150 looks a lot sportier, as compared to the existing options of Black Grey and Black Red colours.       It is possible that Bajaj may introduce new colour options for other Pulsar models. As of now, Pulsar 150 Neon is offered in Neon Red, Neon Silver and Neon Lime Green colour options. The twin disc model is available in Black Blue and Black Red colour options.
      With the updates, 2021 Pulsar 150 single disc will become pricier by around Rs 2k-3k. Similarly, price of other Pulsar 150 models could be increased based on the level of updates they get. Pulsar 150 Neon is currently the cheapest, available at a starting price of Rs 94,125 (ex-showroom, New Delhi). Pulsar 150 single disc costs Rs 1,00,070 whereas the twin disc model starts at Rs 1,03,072.
      2021 Pulsar 150 engine
      Engine is the same as earlier, a 149.50 cc, DTS-i FI, twin spark unit that is capable of generating 14 ps of max power at 8,500 rpm and 13.25 Nm of max torque at 6,500 rpm. This is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The motorcycle is known for being fuel efficient, offering around 50-55 kmpl.
      Pulsar 150 single disc variant has 260 mm disc brake at the front, integrated with single channel ABS. Rear wheel has 130 mm drum brake. The twin disc model has 280 mm and 230 mm disc brakes at front and rear.       Recently, we reported a new colour scheme for the 2021 Bajaj Pulsar 150. As it appears, the Moon White Edition was presented in the single disc variant while the twin disc variant gets a new colour scheme using the same colour combination although in different proportions. Pulsar 180 is seen with new blue colour.
      Updated Cosmetics
      In another video by Jet wheels, the split seat, twin-disc variant of Pulsar 150 is shown with a three-one paint scheme just like the Moon White Edition except in this case the most prominent colour being matte red instead of white. The predominant red paint is complemented by contrasting shades of black and white.

      The unique colour combination makes for very tasteful and attractive body graphics. The front of the motorcycle, as usual, is covered in a black shade which is complemented by the tri-colour graphics.
      The front fender has been painted in gloss black with a carbon fibre finish. Similar carbon fibre treatments are seen on the central toolbox panel and rear fender. It rolls on blacked-out alloy wheels which get a white colour stripe on its rims. Mechanical components such as the engine-gearbox assembly, central body panel, exhaust pipe and engine guard have been finished in matte black.

      Just like the Moon White Edition, mechanical components such as the engine-gearbox assembly, central body panel, exhaust pipe and engine guard are painted in black. Additionally, design of the ‘150’ branding on the rear fender is also revised slightly.
      Most of the body components have been given matte-black finish treatments while some of its components such as an exhaust cover, pillion grab rails and a clip-on handlebar.
      Mechanical Specs
      In terms of specifications, it is powered by the same BS6 compliant 149.5cc air-cooled single-cylinder fuel-injected motor which is able to generate and is linked to a 5-speed gearbox. The hardware setup of this new colour variant is also identical to the existing model.

      The frame of the bike is suspended on conventional telescopic forks at front and dual springs with adjustable preload at rear. Braking setup in this model consists of disc brakes at both ends with rotors of 280mm and 230mm dia at front and rear respectively.
      In terms of features, it still gets a part-digital and part-analogue instrument console. It gets a halogen headlight with an LED taillight and turn indicators. Safety net is provided by a single-channel ABS as standard across the range. It is expected to be priced at a premium of Rs 2000-3000 over the regular twin disc variant of Pulsar 150.       Bajaj has chosen a dark matte blue shade for 2021 Pulsar 180, which enriches its dominating character. For a sportier appeal, the bike gets new dual-tone black and white graphics. These can be seen on the headlamp cowl, engine cowl, fuel tank, side panels and rear tail section. The new graphics looks much better as compared to the graphics on the existing Black Red variant.

      Another cosmetic update is glossy sticker on the front mudguard. In line with the overall theme, the bike also gets white colour alloy wheel decals. For a more intense look, the exhaust heat shield has been blacked out. The exhaust heat shield comes in chrome finish on existing Pulsar 180. All these changes have helped enhance the motorcycle’s road presence.
      Features that are same as earlier include the stylish LED tail lamp, semi-digital instrument cluster, sporty split seats, upswept exhaust, split rear grab rails and sleek tail lamps.

      Powering 2021 Bajaj Pulsar 180 is the same engine as earlier. The 178.6 cc, air cooled, DTS-i Fi unit is capable of generating 17.02 PS of max power @ 8500 rpm and 14.52 Nm of peak torque at 6500 rpm. This is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. As per user reviews, Pulsar 180 has fuel efficiency of around 40-45 kmpl.
      Most other mechanical parts are also the same as earlier. The bike has telescopic front suspension with anti-friction brush and Nitrox rear shock absorber with 5-way adjustability. Pulsar 180 has disc brakes at both ends (280 mm front and 230 mm rear), integrated with single channel ABS.
      2021 Bajaj Pulsar 180 price
      With the updates, 2021 Bajaj Pulsar 180 is expected to become pricier. The current model is available at a starting price of Rs 1.08 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi). 2021 Pulsar 180 will continue to rival the likes of TVS Apache RTR 180, Honda Hornet 2.0 and Hero Xtreme 160R.

      2021 marks a new innings for Pulsar 180, as it was reintroduced earlier this year in February. As may be recalled, Bajaj had discontinued Pulsar 180 in 2019 and replaced it with 180F. The new model is around 7k cheaper than Pulsar 180F.

      Bajaj Pulsar is arguably one of the most popular sporty commuter range of motorcycles in India along with its arch nemesis TVS Apache. Out of all different iterations Pulsar 150, is the most sold model wearing the ‘Pulsar’ branding. The Chakan-based two wheeler manufacturer is all set to introduce a new colour scheme in India soon.
      A video uploaded by Jet wheels on YouTube takes a walk around this upcoming new variant of Pulsar 150 which sports this bright new colour scheme. This edition of the entry-level sports commuter bike is called Moon White Edition and comes with a lovely dual-tone paint scheme with shades of white and black which are complemented by red accents.

      The red highlights on the motorcycle accentuate the motorcycle’s sporty appeal. Along with the unique paint option, this variant of Pulsar 150 will also receive attractive body graphics. Apart from this, the front mudguard receives carbon fibre stickering with a gloss black treatment given to it.
      It stands on blacked-out alloy wheels which also get red stripes on its rims. Mechanical components such as the engine-gearbox assembly, central body panel, exhaust pipe and engine guard are painted in black.

      More carbon fibre treatments are seen on the rear fender and toolbox cover. In addition, design of the ‘150’ branding has also been altered slightly. While the entire body receives matte finish components such as its clip-on handlebar, exhaust cover and pillion grab rail are finished in gloss black.       In terms of specifications, this upcoming Moon White Edition will be identical to the regular Pulsar 150. It features the same 149.5cc air-cooled single-cylinder fuel-injected motor which produces 13.8 bhp and 13.4 Nm of peak torque and is paired with a 5-speed gearbox.
      The new variant also uses the same hardware setup which consists of telescopic forks at front and dual springs with adjustable preload at rear. The braking setup comprises a standard disc brake at front with the option of either a drum brake or disc brake at rear. Safety net is provided by a single-channel ABS as standard.

      Apart from the new colour option, Bajaj offers six colour schemes on Pulsar 150 range. In addition, the company offers three neon colour options- neon red, neon yellow and neon silver for the updated Neon series.       RS200 already received a mild facelift last year when it got upgraded to BS6 emission norms. It is offered in a solitary trim level at a price pegged at Rs 1.52 lakh (ex-showroom). There has been no change in its design ever since it first went on sale in the country.
      The bike continues to sport a fully-faired styling, the only one apart from the flagship Pulsar 220F in Bajaj Auto’s entire lineup. Other design highlights in Pulsar RS200 include a dual-projector headlamp setup, twin running LED DRLs and an odd-looking LED tail lamp.
      New TVC
      Bajaj has recently released a new TV commercial on its YouTube channel. The latest TVC shows two mules of the faired sporty commuter bike in the shadows. Tag line of the commercial is – Racing Thrill Unleashed.
      Currently, the flagship Pulsar is available with three paint options namely Burnt Red, Metallic Pearl White and Pewter Grey. Other than getting new colour schemes and BS6 upgrade, no new updates either cosmetic or mechanically have been made in Pulsar RS200 since launch.

      Features & Powertrain
      Coming to features, the sporty commuter motorcycle is offered with gizmos such as a semi-digital instrument cluster, LED turn indicators, a service-due indicator and nothing much. For added visibility at dark, Bajaj offers backlit switches in RS200.
      It has been built on a perimeter frame which is suspended on a chunky telescopic fork at front and a gas-charged mono-shock. Anchoring duties are handled by a single 300mm disc at front and a 230mm disc at rear while a safety net is provided by a dual-channel ABS as standard.
      Pulsar RS200 derives its power from a 199.5cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled motor which pushes out 24.2 bhp at 9750 rpm and a peak torque of 18.7 Nm at 8000rpm. This unit is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The bike is rated to return a claimed fuel efficiency of 35 kmpl while it can clock a top speed of 141 kmph.
      Upcoming Pulsar Models
      The Chakan-based bikemaker is looking to expand its Pulsar range of motorcycles by introducing new models with different configurations. This includes a new bike in the quarter-litre segment.
      Specimens of the bike were recently spotted testing on roads although ambiguity remains regarding the expected powertrain on offer. Some experts believe that Bajaj might offer a new 250cc air-cooled motor while logic dictates that the company could utilise the 249cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine which powers Dominar 250 and KTM 250 series.       New Bajaj Pulsar 160 NS Spied Testing – Launch Likely In 2021

      The new Bajaj Pulsar NS 160 gets significant cosmetic revision while the hardware appear to be retained

      The Bajaj Pulsar NS family of street fighters aged rather well. Started its innings with a 200 cc variant almost a decade ago, the NS nameplate later spawned a popular 160 variant with identical styling. The competition has come up with modern and better equipped compact displacement naked motorcycles, prompting Bajaj Auto to revisit the drawing board.
      New Bajaj Pulsar NS 160 spotted testing
      A prototype of what appears to be the next generation Bajaj Pulsar NS has been spotted testing on the public road for the first time. The air-cooling fins on the engine block strongly indicate that this is a 160 cc variant. The tyre sizes, thin front telescopic forks and box section swing arm also point towards the smaller engined variant.
      The revised bodywork appears to be production ready but the finer details are concealed by the camouflage. The most significant visual change is the fuel tank which now features longer extensions. The headlamp is also completely new with a compact projector unit and a redesigned casing.
      The tailpiece continues to retain familiarity but we expect the taillight to undergo revision. It is reasonable to assume that the new Bajaj Pulsar NS 160 will receive an updated fully digital instrument console. Spy images are credit to automotive enthusiast Jupiter Logo.

      Specifications
      The time proven 160.3 cc air / oil-cooled single-cylinder motor is expected to be carried forward. The underbelly exhaust has been done away with in favour of a conventional canister in a bid to meet the stricter emission standards. In its current avatar, the motor produces a healthy 17.2 hp and 14.6 Nm of torque, and is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. Changes, if any, are likely to be nominal.
      The perimeter frame, suspension and braking setup appear to have been carried forward without any changes. The sporty compact displacement naked motorcycle is equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels, front and rear discs with single-channel ABS.
      Bigger engined variant on its way?
      It is only a matter of time before the Pulsar NS 200 receives a successor and it is expected to adopt the bigger 250 cc liquid-cooled motor from the Dominar. A bigger engine would help create a sufficient distance from its 160 cc sibling in terms of market positioning and pricing, while also strengthening the brand’s quarter liter lineup.
      Rivals
      The new Bajaj Pulsar NS 160 will be pitted against the TVS Apache RTR 160, Hero Xtreme 160R and Yamaha FZS-FI. The brand pull and a modern design should give the new naked Pulsar an edge over its rivals. We expect the new motorcycle to be ready for the market sometime in the second half of this year to take advantage of the festive season.       In 2019, Bajaj discontinued the Pulsar 180, and replaced it with 180F. Now they have brought back the Pulsar 180 in 2021. It is priced from Rs 1.08 lakhs, making it Rs.7k cheaper as compared to the Pulsar 180F which carried a price tag of Rs.1.15 lakhs, ex-sh prices. Bookings have opened and initial examples move into company showrooms.
      Bajaj Pulsar 180 Styling Elements
      Borrowing design inspiration from the Pulsar 150, new Pulsar 180 is seen with sporty body graphics across its fuel tank and front fender. It also receives split seats, pillion grab rails and multi spoke black finished alloy wheels.
      Headlamp is halogen and it comes along with twin pilot lamps. It continues to sport the same instrument cluster as seen on its 180F counterpart with an digital-analogue tachometer and LCD screen relaying information in terms of speed and fuel and an odometer.

      Engine, Braking and Suspension
      The naked roadster gets powered by a 178.6cc, single cylinder, 2 valve, air cooled engine that also powers the 180F. This engine makes 17.02 hp power at 8,500 rpm and 14.2 Nm torque at 6,500 rpm, which is lower by 0.2 hp and 0.3 Nm as compared to the engine on the Pulsar 180F. The engine gets mated to a 5 speed gearbox. Kerb weight stands at 145 kgs which is 10 kgs lighter as compared to the 180F since it is devoid of fairing.
      Braking and suspension is also carried over from the Pulsar 180F with 280mm front and 230mm rear disc setup and a single-channel ABS system and telescopic front forks and five-step adjustable gas-charged mono-shock at the rear. Mileage of new Pulsar 180 is more or less the same as before and there is no huge improvement in this department.
      Rivals
      The new Bajaj Pulsar 180 enters a segment where it will take on TVS Apache RTR 180 (Rs.1.08,270). It will also compete with the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, Pulsar NS160, Yamaha FZS FI-V3 and Hero Xtreme 160R in a similar price range.
      In related news, Bajaj Auto is also gearing up to add more motorcycles to the Pulsar range, that will include 250cc bikes. The Bajaj Pulsar NS250 and RS250 are pegged for launch later this year. They will share both platform and engine with the KTM 250 Duke.       Back in 2018, Bajaj discontinued its popular Pulsar 180 variant with 180F which came equipped with 220F’s semi-fairing. The addition of fairing with projector headlamps permitted Bajaj to optimize the large Pulsar family’s tight market positioning with respect to each other. However, things have been evolving in the 150 to 200 cc motorcycle market and it seems the Pune-based two wheeler major has decided to roll back the change two years later.
      2021 Bajaj Pulsar 180
      The 2021 Bajaj Pulsar 180 with the original bikini fairing has started reaching dealerships, indicating that the official launch is not far away. It will be on sale alongside the semi-faired 180F, which is priced about Rs 9k more. Price of the Pulsar 180 is Rs 1.05 lakh ex-sh while that of the 180F is Rs 1.14 lakh, ex-sh.
      The new Pulsar 180 adopts the classic family styling but gets unique contrast decals on the fener, fuel tank extensions, tailpiece and belly pan. The headlamp housing appears to have been tweaked slightly but there are no other noteworthy visual changes.
      The digi-analog instrument console has been borrowed from the 220F. The blue backlit digital display unit offers multiple information including speed, distance to empty, fuel efficiency, side-stand status, odometer service reminder, and so on.

      Specifications
      Given that the Bajaj Pulsar family received BS6 updates only last year, we don’t expect the 2021 Pulsar 180 to have any significant changes to its powertrain specifications. To recap, the premium commuter is powered by a 178.6 cc air-cooled, fuel-injected engine which is mated to a 5-speed transmission. Power and torque figures stand at 17 hp and 14.52 Nm of torque.
      The 2021 Bajaj Pulsar 180 carries forward the traditional telescopic front forks, twin rear shock absorbers, front and rear disc brakes with single-channel ABS, and 17-inch alloy wheels.
      Market positioning
      The continued success of TVS Apache RTR 180 and the advent of Honda Hornet 2.0 has prompted Bajaj to reposition its Pulsar 180. Ditching the semi-fairing and reverting back to the bikini unit would lead to a considerable price drop. The 2021 Bajaj Pulsar 180 with aggressive pricing will take the fight to its rivals.       The Pulsar 180F did not manage meet Bajaj’s sales expectations despite derive its design from the popular 220F. So, in the revised Pulsar lineup for this year, the semi-faired variant may not have a place.
      The classic Bajaj Pulsar design has aged very well over these years. While its competitors feel the need to constantly evolve and revise their aesthetics, the Pulsar continues to enjoy enviable popularity among young and middle-aged customers alike.
