      Bajaj has finally launched its flagship model in the Pulsar range of motorcycles- Pulsar 250 in two iterations. The naked one is called N250 while the semi-faired version is named F250. Most of the specifications of Pulsar 250 are on the expected lines as it has been covered vigorously over the last few months.
      Pulsar 250 directly competes against its Japanese rivals- Yamaha FZ25 and Suzuki Gixxer 250. Like Pulsar 250, Gixxer 250 is offered in two iterations- naked and semi-faired (SF 250) whereas FZ25 is only offered as a naked streetfighter. The naked and semi-faired iterations of both Pulsar and Gixxer are similar, barring their styling.

      While design is purely a subjective thing, each of the motorcycles mentioned above looks sharp. However, if one wants to opt for a faired look, then FZ25 cannot be the choice. While exact dimensions of Pulsar 250 haven’t been revealed yet, it offers a wheelbase of 1351 mm which is bang in between FZ25 (1340 mm) and Gixxer (1360 mm). Pulsar 250 is also the heaviest among its rivals at 162 kg for N250 and 164 kg for F250.
      On the other hand, FZ25 is the lightest in the category. Both Pulsar and Gixxer offer a ground clearance of 165 mm while FZ25 offers 160 mm of ground clearance. Seat height of all three bikes is around the same region from 795 mm to 800 mm. The main difference among these three models is that Pulsar 250 is based on a tubular frame while the other two are based on a diamond frame.

      Powertrain Specs & Features
      Coming to powertrain, all three are powered by a 249cc single-cylinder SOHC engine. However, Gixxer 250 churns out the highest output of 26 bhp and 22.2 Nm. The reason behind this is while others offer a 2-valve setup, Suzuki offers a 4-valve setup in Gixxer 250.
      FZ25 is by far the least powerful in the segment. While Gixxer 250 is paired with a 6-speed gearbox, Pulsar 250 and FZ25 are offered with a 5-speed transmission.
      All three motorcycles offer more or less the same amount of features with a few variations. Common features on all three motorcycles include LED headlight, LED taillight and automatic headlight. While Pulsar 250 is the only one to offer a USB charger as standard, it misses out on a fully digital instrument cluster and a dual-channel ABS, like its compatriots.

      A lot has changed since the time Pulsar twins (150 and 180) were launched in November 2001. Pulsar bikes have played a key role in helping the company establish itself as a popular motorcycle brand. Pulsar range has been expanded over the years to include several new products. It currently starts with the entry level Pulsar 125 and extends to the most powerful Pulsar 220F. Range topping naked and fully faired models are NS200 and RS200.
      Twenty years later, Bajaj has launched the biggest Pulsar ever made. It is the N250 and F250. Both these motorcycles are completely new, built from the ground up on a new chassis, powered by a new engine and comes with new tech and features. Price starts from Rs 1.38 lakh for the N250 and Rs 1.4 lakh for the F250. All prices are Ex-sh. 2 vibrant exciting colours – Techno Grey and Racing Red are on offer.

      New Pulsar 250 bikes will have a muscular profile and dominating street presence. The overall look and feel is more refined in comparison to other Pulsar motorcycles. Some of the key features include aggressive headlamp, spear turn signals, large windscreen, and wide clip-on handlebar.
      One of the key differences between naked and semi-faired versions of Pulsar 250 is in their fairing. Pulsar 250F has a more prominent front fascia with the fairing extended all the way to the tank shrouds. The bike’s styling is further enhanced with sporty rear-view mirrors installed on the front apron. The naked model has the same units, but they are mounted on the handlebar.

      There are some differences in ergonomics as well. For example, the naked variant has low-set handlebar, as compared to the slightly raised unit on 250F. Placement of the foot pegs appears to be the same on both bikes. While a comfortable, upright stance will be available, Pulsar 250 can accommodate a more committed riding posture as well.

      Apart from these changes, both models will be largely the same. Some features that are likely to be common across both bikes include the fenders, crash guard, engine cowl, split seats, side mounted twin-barrel exhaust, split grab rails, tail section, rear tyre hugger and rear LED taillight.
      Pulsar 250 engine and specs
      Pulsar 250 gets a new 250cc motor. It is different, as compared to the one currently in use with KTM 250cc bikes, Dominar 250 and Husqvarna 250. The new engine is capable of generating 24 bhp of max power and 21.5 Nm of peak torque. It will be coupled with a 5-speed gearbox.

      Bajaj Pulsar Sales Breakup Sep 2021 – 125, 150, 160, 180, 200, 220F

      Bajaj Auto finished 4th on the list of best-selling two wheeler makers in India in September 2021. It was preceded by Hero MotoCorp, Honda and TVS. Bajaj Auto reported total sales of 1,73,945 units in September 2021, relating to a YoY de-growth of 20.75 percent, as against 2,19,500 units sold in September 2020. MoM growth was more positive as compared to 1,57,971 units sold in August 2021.
      Though Bajaj Pulsar contributed significant number to total domestic sales last month, every variant suffered significant de-growth. It was a YoY sales de-growth of 43.55 percent in domestic markets to 57,974 units as against 1,02,698 units sold in September 2020.
      On a MoM basis, sales dipped 11.82 percent with 65,747 units sold in August 2021. Exports on the other hand suffered a YoY de-growth of 19.16 percent to 35,710 units from 44,175 units sold in September 2020. However, it noted a 4.28 percent MoM growth over 34,243 units shipped in August 2021.

      Bajaj Pulsar 125 was a favorite in domestic markets. The company sold 39,081 units in September 2021, down from 51,540 units sold in September 2020. Sales numbers improved in a MoM basis by 19.66 percent over 32,659 units sold in August 2021.

      Next in line was the Pulsar 150 of which the company sold 11,082 units in domestic markets last month. This was a YoY de-growth of 71.12 percent over 38,366 units sold in the same month last year. MoM sales also dipped significantly by 54.32 percent over 24,261 units sold in August 2021.
      YoY sales of the 220F along with that of 160, 180 and 200 also dipped 19.72 percent and 51.75 percent respectively. MoM sales were down 1.27 percent for the 220F and down 20.24 percent for the Pulsar 160,180 and 200.
      Bajaj Auto is set to launch the new Pulsar 250 and Pulsar 250F in India on 28th October. The models have been spied on test and besides being the biggest Pulsar yet, it is also slated to be the most expensive of the Pulsar series with an expected price close to Rs 1.60 lakh.

      In global markets, it was the Pulsar 160, 180 and 200 that scaled the list. Sales however dipped YoY to 16,254 units, a de-growth of 6.37 percent over 17,359 units sold in September 2020. MoM sales noted a 3.17 percent growth over 15,754 units shipped in August 2021.
      Bajaj Pulsar 150 exports dipped 22.38 percent YoY to 14,064 units in September 2021, down from 18,120 units shipped in September 2020. MoM exports grew 20.81 percent over 11,641 units sold in August 2021. Exports of Pulsar 125 also fell on a YoY basis by 13.54 percent to 5,008 units, down from 5,792 units shipped in September 2020. MoM sales grew by 15.07 percent over 4,352 units sold in August 2021.
      Bajaj Pulsar 220F did not find many takers in global markets either in August or September 2021. Sales dipped to 384 units in September 2021, down 86.78 percent over 2,904 units sold in September 2020. MoM sales also fell significantly by 84.62 percent over 2,496 units shipped in August 2021.       It was in November 2001 that Bajaj Pulsar 150 and Pulsar 180 were launched in the Indian market. Priced competitively, the bikes can be credited with popularizing performance-oriented biking in the country. Over the years, Pulsar range has been expanded to include several new products. Pulsar motorcycles continue to be bestsellers for the company.
      Bajaj Pulsar 250 Teased
      NS250 is expected to borrow some of the styling bits from existing naked NS motorcycles such as NS160 and NS200. On the same lines, 250F could have some features similar to that of Pulsar 220F. It is likely that Pulsar 250cc twins will utilize a new platform. Both bikes could share features such as headlamp and LED DRLs. They appear to have an aggressive front fascia.
      Talking about differences between the two bikes, NS250 utilizes a minimalistic front cowl in comparison to the larger, puffed-up unit used on 250F. On 250F, the front fairing merges seamlessly with the tank shrouds. NS250 has a small flyscreen, which is largely there as visual aid. 250F has a much larger flyscreen that should provide adequate wind protection.
      While the rear-view mirrors are the same, they are mounted differently. On NS250, the rear-view mirrors are placed on the handlebar. 250F has it on the front apron. Other things like front fender, engine cowl, crash guard, tail section and rear LED taillight appear to be the same on both bikes. Other key features include split-seat design, split grab rails, side-mounted twin-barrel exhaust canister and rear tyre hugger. Below is the first official teaser of the new Bajaj Pulsar 250.

      In terms of ergonomics, both bikes appear to have a comfortable riding stance. Foot pegs are centrally located on both bikes. One difference though is that 250F appears to have a slightly raised handlebar. In comparison, NS250 appears to use low set handlebar. This should allow a more committed riding posture, as and when needed.
      Pulsar NS250 and 250F engine and specs
      It is expected that Pulsar NS250 and 250F will get an entirely new 249cc engine. This will be different from the ones currently in use with Dominar 250 and KTM 250cc bikes. The new engine could churn out 24 bhp of max power and 20 Nm of peak torque. It will be mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
      Bajaj is expected to equip its biggest Pulsars with advanced tech such as variable valve actuation (VVA) and assist and slipper clutch. This will allow the new Pulsars to compete effectively with rival products from Suzuki and Yamaha. In other updates, the bikes could get Bluetooth-based connectivity features.

      After numerous spy shots and a few design renderings, Bajaj Auto has finally revealed the launch date of its new Pulsar 250. The flagship Pulsar-branded motorcycle, will be launched on 28th Oct 2021. With this launch, Bajaj will mark 20 years of the Pulsar range of sporty commuter motorcycles in India.
      It will be offered in two iterations- naked and semi-faired. From spy shots, it looks like the overall design of NS250 has drawn inspiration from its smaller siblings NS160 and NS200. Similar is the case with 250F which shares plenty of styling elements with Pulsar 220F.
      Bajaj Pulsar 250 Exhaust Sound
      Both motorcycles flaunt an aggressive front face featuring a single-pod LED headlamp cluster and integrated LED DRLs. Difference between the two models lies primarily in their styling. While NS250 doesn’t feature a prominent front apron, 250F on the hand, just like the current 220F, gets a large front apron comprising a headlamp cowl and a windscreen that integrates into the side fairing.
      Apart from the extended tank shrouds, no other form of body panels can be seen on the naked Pulsar NS250. That said, NS250 appears to have a slightly more committed riding posture than 250F. Side fairings have been incorporated on both bikes in order to enhance their aerodynamic capabilities. Tail sections of both bikes are fairly similar with the same split LED taillight design.

      Other highlights include split grab rails for the pillion, a split seating setup, an engine underbelly cowl, a clip-on handlebar, a rear tyre hugger and a side-mounted twin-barrel exhaust canister. From the spy video by Narinder Tandon, we get to hear the exhaust note of the two Pulsar 250cc motorcycles for the first time. Compared to any other Pulsar range, the sound emitted from the 250s is much louder.
      On 250F, rearview mirrors are mounted on the front apron whereas in NS250, rearview mirrors are installed on the handlebar. The semi-faired version of Pulsar 250 gets a large fly screen whereas its naked iteration features a smaller unit.
      Features & Mechanical Specs
      In terms of features, Pulsar 250 will be offered with a semi-digital instrument console. It is also likely to be enabled with Bluetooth connectivity. Hardware configurations of both motorcycles are identical.
      Suspension setup of Pulsar 250 consists of conventional telescopic forks upfront and a mono-shock linked to the swingarm at rear. Braking duties will be carried out by single disc brakes on both wheels which will be accompanied by a dual-channel ABS as standard.
      Powering the latest quarter-litre offerings from Bajaj will be a new 249cc single-cylinder air/oil-cooled engine which is expected to dish out 24 bhp and 20 Nm of peak torque.       Bajaj Auto is gearing up to launch the new Pulsar 250 in multiple iterations on October 28. The upcoming quarter-litre motorcycle has been spotted testing on roads in the past few months on numerous occasions. All test mules spied until now have been heavily wrapped under camouflage thus revealing very few details of the bike.
      The Chakan-based manufacturer continues to test the upcoming Pulsar ahead of its launch towards the end of this month. The new motorcycle has been spotted testing again, this time in Kolhapur. Hat tip to Omkar for sharing the latest set of spy shots which clearly reveal the design of the LED taillamps.
      The recent spy images only reveal the rear end of what appears to be the semi-faired iteration of the motorcycle which is expected to be named Pulsar 250F. The bikemaker will also launch a naked streetfighter version of the same which will most probably be called NS250.
      Bajaj Pulsar 250F – Fresh Design
      As seen in the recent spy pics, the split style taillight in Pulsar 250 seems to be an extension of the ones seen in the current Pulsar lineup. Other styling highlights include split grab rails for the pillion, a raised tail section, a rear tyre hugger, a split seating setup and a side-mounted twin-barrel exhaust canister.

      From previous spy images, we have noticed design attributes such as a clip-on handlebar, an engine underbelly cowl and a muscular front fender. The front fascia of the motorcycle flaunts a single-pod LED headlamp cluster and integrated LED DRLs. The semi-faired iteration of the motorcycle gets an even more aggressive front end with a large headlamp cowl and a flyscreen that integrates into the side fairing.
      Hardware & Features
      Another major update is the semi-digital instrument console which was earlier believed to be a fully digital unit. The console could, however, benefit from Bluetooth connectivity. Coming to its hardware configurations, the new Pulsar 250 will be underpinned by an all-new frame which will be suspended on conventional telescopic forks up front and a mono-shock linked to the swingarm at rear.
      Expected Engine Specs
      Braking setup will comprise disc brakes at both ends complemented by a dual-channel ABS. The upcoming Pulsar duos will be powered by a new 249cc single-cylinder air/oil-cooled engine which is likely to pump out 24 bhp and 20 Nm of peak torque. This unit will be linked to a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper and assist clutch. This engine is also expected to be equipped with variable valve actuation (VVA) technology.
