Upcoming Kia EV4 Electric Interiors Spied – Floating Widescreen

Upcoming Kia EV4 ElectricWith its distinctive design, the Kia EV4 is a great option for those looking to experience something truly new
Kia has started testing the EV4, a crossover sedan with SUV flavours and a sloping coupe roofline as well. EV4 is expected to be launched in 2025. Ahead of that, latest spy shots have revealed the interiors of Kia EV4.
    Kia EV4 cockpit revealed
While test vehicles have been spotted earlier also, this is the first time the interiors of Kia EV4 have been revealed. A number of features appear to be borrowed from Kia EV3 that was introduced earlier this year in June.
    Upcoming Kia EV4 Electric
One of the key attractions is the large widescreen panel. It has dual 12.3-inch screens for the touchscreen and the driver instrument display. In between, there’s a 5.3-inch climate control display. The widescreen covers more than half of the dashboard’s length.
Below the floating widescreen, there’s a control panel with touch-sensitive buttons. These can be used to access the primary shortcuts such as Home, Media and Map. For practical convenience, EV4 has a conventional circular dial for the volume control. The AC vents are mounted on either side. With only a few physical buttons, the interiors look neat and decluttered. Similar to the EV3, the EV4 is expected to get a multi-layered dashboard.
    Upcoming Kia EV4 Electric
Several of the tech features seen with EV3 could be introduced in EV4. For example, Kia EV4 could get the ChatGPT-powered AI digital assistant that is designed to improve overall user experience. Based on generative AI, the digital assistant can process various voice commands and act accordingly. It can provide travel related information, make music recommendations and control vehicle functions. With generative AI like ChatGPT, the possibilities are limitless. Kia EV4 will also be getting the regular tech features such as wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
    Upcoming Kia EV4 Electric
    Kia EV4 specs, performance
Similar to Kia EV3, EV6, EV9 and various Hyundai and Genesis cars, the Kia EV4 also utilizes the Hyundai Motor Group E-GMP electric platform. Among these, only the EV3 has a 400-volt electrical system. Other cars utilize an 800-volt electrical system that is more advanced and capable of enabling faster charging. There are other benefits as well such as improved efficiency and performance.
It will be interesting to see if Kia EV4 gets the 400-volt or 800-volt electrical system. Assuming that Kia will be aiming to introduce the EV4 at an attractive price point, the 400-volt electrical system will be more suitable. Battery pack options for Kia EV4 include a 58.3 kWh and an 81.4 kWh unit. Base variants will have a single motor setup, generating 201 hp. Higher variants could get AWD option, enabled with a dual-motor setup.
While this test vehicle has the sedan body style, Kia EV4 is also expected to get another variant with an upright hatchback rear format. This was evidenced with another test vehicle spotted earlier. Upon launch, Kia EV4 will rival Tesla Model 3.

2025 Mahindra XUV700 EV Version Launch Nears – Latest Spy Shots

2025 Mahindra XUV700 EV VersionExpected to arrive in 2025, XUV700 EV version will primarily challenge upcoming Tata Harrier EV and Safari EV
Like many other carmakers, Mahindra is expecting a sizable increase in EV sales in the coming years. To stay ahead in the race, Mahindra will be introducing its born-electric SUV range next year. The first of these will be XUV700 EV version.
Mahindra XUV700 EV version – What to expect?
Mahindra XUV700 EV test vehicles have been spotted frequently in recent months. Latest spy shots are credited to automotive enthusiast Aniket Kashyap, who managed to click these test mules in Ladakh. While wrapped in full camouflage, it is easy to see that much of the exterior profile is the same as the ICE model.
    2025 Mahindra XUV700 EV Version
However, XUV700 EV version will have a new front fascia. It will include a closed-off grille, new lighting elements and refreshed bumper section. Side profile of XUV700 EV closely mirrors the ICE model. Some of the key highlights include flush door handles, circular wheel arches, chrome window garnish and slightly tapering rear roof section. XUV700 EV will offer more refined aesthetics with its aerodynamic, low-drag alloy wheels.
The charging port for XUV700 EV is installed on the left, the same position where the ICE variant has the fuel filler. At the rear, the overall profile will be largely the same as the ICE model. There could be some tweaks to the tailgate and bumper. XUV700 EV will feature unique badging elements that highlight its electric underpinnings.
    2025 Mahindra XUV700 EV Version
    Digital cockpit experience
While the exteriors seem quite familiar, the interiors of XUV700 EV will offer a more premium experience and multiple new features. One of the test vehicles was recently spotted with a triple-screen layout that covers almost the entire length of the dashboard. Such premium features will be available with the top variants of XUV700 EV. Mahindra will focus on reducing clutter and enhancing the digital cockpit experience.
    2025 Mahindra XUV700 EV Version
XUV700 EV will have advanced tech features such as 5G network capability and 5 Radars-1 Vision technology. The SUV is designed to support future upgrades such as L2+ autonomous driving and ADAS. A comprehensive range of connected features will be available with XUV700 EV.
    XUV700 EV battery, range, performance
Mahindra’s born-electric INGLO platform that underpins XUV700 EV can support battery packs of up to 80 kWh capacity. In that case, XUV700 EV could have a range of around 500 km. Earlier spy shots had revealed a rear motor, indicating that the SUV will have a dual-motor AWD option. With fast charging of up to 175 kWh, users will be able to achieve up to 80% charging in just 30 minutes.
In the electric segment, Mahindra currently offers only the XUV400. Sales are relatively low, when compared to Mahindra’s hugely popular ICE SUVs. Nonetheless, even with just a single EV model in its portfolio, Mahindra is already ranked third in the list of best selling EV brands in the country. That’s because EV sales are yet to register large numbers similar to that of ICE car sales. With its born-electric range, Mahindra can probably improve its ranking and market share in the EV segment. Mahindra is also planning to foray in the petrol hybrid segment. More

Tata Nexon EV May Get BaaS Option – MG Windsor Effect

Tata Nexon EVTata Motors’ BaaS (Battery as a Service) model will allow Nexon EV, Punch EV, Tiago EV, Tigor EV and Curvv EV to quote lower Ex-sh prices
Today, there are more electric cars to choose from, than there were a couple of years ago. Also, there are more purchasing options today, further accelerating EV adoption. Appealing to buyers more, is the new BaaS programs introduced by MG Motor, quoting significantly lower upfront Ex-sh prices.
In a bid to retain its market share in electric car segment and offer significantly lower Ex-sh prices, Tata Motors is reportedly working to introduce BaaS model with their electric lineup. When launched, Tata’s BaaS program might be available with Nexon EV, Punch EV, Tiago EV, Tigor EV and the recently launched Curvv EV.
New Tata Curvv EV – Voyager Aamir
    Tata Nexon EV BaaS
India’s leading electric car manufacturer, Tata Motors, leads the segment with around 65% market share. But there is a considerable 14.57% drop in sales YoY in August 2024. The company is now reportedly considering launching BaaS programs of its own to quote significantly lower Ex-sh prices. Launch timeline is still unknown.
JSW MG Motor India was the first to launch BaaS (Battery as a Service) program in India. Starting with Windsor EV, JSW MG Motor India has redefined electric vehicle pricing and then extended their BaaS model to include Comet EV and ZS EV. Customer reception seems to be very positive towards BaaS concept as MG Windsor EV bagged more than 15K bookings on the first day.
Tata Punch EV – Car Marvel
By offering battery rental service, MG quoted significantly lower Ex-sh prices than typical EVs where battery was included in the package as part of the ownership. Mahindra took notice of this and is offering BaaS model with their newly launched Zeo commercial 4W pickup truck. Notably, Mahindra has not announced BaaS model on XUV400, their electric offering in PV segment.
As of now, Tata’s electric portfolio starts from Rs 7.99 lakh (Ex-sh) for Tiago EV, Rs 9.99 lakh (Ex-sh) for Punch EV, Rs 12.49 lakh (Ex-sh) for Nexon EV and Tigor EV and Rs 17.49 lakh (Ex-sh) for Curvv EV. We hope Tata reduces upfront Ex-sh prices by around 25% to 30% and quotes battery rental of Rs 2.5 to Rs 3.5 per km covered.
    2024 Tata Tiago EV
    How will BaaS help?
If there is around 30% reduction in Ex-sh prices with BaaS as per the report, we can expect Tiago EV to start at around Rs 5.6 lakh (Ex-sh + Rental), Punch EV from Rs 7 lakh (Ex-sh + Rental), Tigor EV and Nexon EV from Rs 8.75 lakh (Ex-sh + Rental) and Curvv EV from Rs 12.25 lakh (Ex-sh + Rental).
If we take MG Windsor EV with BaaS and Tata Curvv EV without BaaS, there is a Rs 7.5 lakh difference in upfront Ex-sh price with base variants. With the Rs 7.5 lakh saved, a Windsor EV buyer can drive 2,14,285 km paying Rs 3.5 per km battery rental charge to MG. Considering that majority of EV buyers probably need more than 10 years to clock that mileage, the lower upfront cost facilitated by BaaS model is very impressive.

2025 Kia Sonet Electric SUV Spied First Time – Nexon EV Rival

2025 Kia Sonet Electric SUVWhile battery and motor specs are not known yet, 2025 Kia Sonet electric SUV might promise around 450 km of range from a single charge
Developing electric versions of existing models has proven to be a successful strategy for automakers. Tata Motors has been leading the charge in this area for some time, and now other manufacturers are following suit. Kia India appears to be the latest to adopt this approach, as indicated by the first-ever spy shots of a Sonet EV test mule.
    2025 Kia Sonet Electric
Sonet has been a very popular offering in the sub 4m SUV segment. It is currently powered by either Petrol or Diesel engines. For the first time, a Kia Sonet test mule has been spied on ahead of its official launch in 2025.
    2025 Kia Sonet EV Front
For starters, this particular test mule is fully camouflaged and was spied with additional structural camouflage at the rear too. We could not spot any visible tailpipe on this test mule, suggesting that it might be a fully electric vehicle that is based on ICE version of Sonet. Launch likely to happen in 2025.
We did not see any major change in design, which is logical as it keeps costs down as there are more shared parts between EV and ICE versions. Even the alloy wheels looked like they were the same 16-inch units, offered with ICE Sonet.
    2025 Kia Sonet EV Rear
At the rear, this test mule suggested that it has the same connected LED tail light signature as ICE Sonet. There might be an EV-specific rear bumper to establish some design distinctions. The new spy shots showed upcoming Sonet EV’s right side and rear section. We couldn’t spot any charging ports, suggesting it may be present where ICE Sonet has its fuel filler.
    2025 Kia Sonet EV Side
At the front, Kia Sonet EV seems to be carrying over the lighting elements, which is understandable too. Attributes like front parking sensors and 360-degree cameras are expected to carry over too. Other than that, we can see roof rails along with other elements similar to ICE Sonet.
    2025 Kia Sonet EV Side
    What to expect?
On the inside, we can expect Sonet EV to carry over a lot of elements from Sonet ICE. Like the dual 10.2-inch displays supporting Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Bose premium speakers, electrically adjustable driver’s seat, ventilated front seats, a single-pane sunroof, auto climate control with rear AC vents, air purifier and Level-1 ADAS among others.
    2025 Kia Sonet EV Side
Feature add-ons might include an electric parking brake, adjustable regenerative braking and all-four disc brakes as standard, among others. Battery specs are not known as of now, but around 45 kWh pack with 450 km of claimed range sounds feasible. There will be a single motor driving front wheels and the possibility of a frunk (front trunk) is less.

2025 Mahindra XUV Electric SUV (e9 and BE05) Spied Undisguised During TVC Shoot

2025 Mahindra BE05 Electric SUVMahindra is getting ready to launch a range of new Electric SUVs in India and for the global market
Expanding the horizon of its electric vehicle portfolio, Mahindra Auto has been taking great strides. In 2022, the company showcased five of its upcoming born-electric electric cars. Of these, BE.05 and XUV.e9 seem to be closing production and a grand global debut might be away as suggested by the recent spy shots.
Mahindra BE.05 And XUV.e9 Spied Undisguised
These spy shots show Mahindra BE.05 and XUV.e9 during what seems like TVC shoots somewhere outside India. These units were fully undisguised and showed their exterior design elements in fully production-spec form. We should expect a TVC soon and before that, let’s take a look at what the spy shots show.
2025 Mahindra XUV e9 Electric SUV
With global aspirations, Mahindra Auto has carved out a range of stunning electric SUVs that should launch sometime next year. Based on their born-electric INGLO platform, Mahindra is eyeing to dominate the Indian electric SUV market and then expand their EV production expertise to include global markets as well.
    2025 Mahindra BE05 Electric SUV
Squared-off wheel arches with chunky wheel claddings along with side body claddings are both finished in a gloss black. Wheels look like they are around 19-inchers in size. Design is of a 5-spoke type, but there are aerodynamic patterns, looking very futuristic. The fixed glass roof ends in a split spoiler design and a similar effect is mimicked on the rear bumper too.
    2025 Mahindra BE05 Electric SUV
Front door gets flush pop-out door handles. LED tail lights are connected in design and have a massive signature. At the front, we can see a massive C-shaped LED DRL signature with an illuminated BE logo. Front also has an open grill that channels air through its bonnet, which is a neat touch.
    2025 Mahindra BE05 Electric SUV
Where XUV.e9 is concerned, we can see two shades of it in the spy shot. One in a Golden colour and the other in a ravishing Red. It boasts a massive fascia with a closed-off grill, vertically laid-out headlights, and connecting LED DRLs. Pop-out front door handles and large aerodynamic wheels are notable elements.
    2025 Mahindra BE05 Electric SUV
What do they get on the inside?
On the inside, Mahindra is giving BE.05 cockpit-like feel with a pronounced split in the middle. Other notable elements include a floating centre console and dual 10.25-inch screens, a new steering wheel with an illuminated logo, a large HUD and more. XUV.e9, on the other hand, one-ups BE.05 with a triple screen layout, but lacks the cockpit-like feel.
    2025 Mahindra BE05 Electric SUV
Powertrain details are not known yet. However, speculations suggest BE.05 and XUV.e9 could get battery packs between 60 kWh and 80 kWh, mated to either a single-motor RWD or dual-motor AWD setups. As of now, Mahindra is active in a few global markets selling vehicles like Pik-Up range, Scorpio N and XUV700. The upcoming XUV.e8 (XUV700 EV), XUV.e9 (XUV700 EV Coupe) and BE.05 are likely to join the list of exported cars from Mahindra.

    Performance boost with AWD
2025 Tata Harrier EV will have AWD option, something that’s missing on the ICE Harrier. This will be another good reason why users may want to choose the EV version over the ICE model. Harrier EV will be based on Tata’s acti-ev pure EV architecture that also supports FWD and RWD. It is expected to get a 60-80 kWh battery pack. Certified range could be around 500 km and will support fast charging. Launch price could be around Rs 30 lakhs and will rival upcoming XUV700 EV.
