Mahindra BE Rall-E Spied Testing Again – More Rugged BE 6 SUV

Mahindra BE Rall-E Spied TestingIt has been almost a year since the Mahindra BE Rall-E test mules have been spotted in India. Showed as a concept vehicle in February 2023 on the stage with Bollywood actors Vicky Kaushal and Disha Patani, Mahindra BE Rall-E is likely to launch in the country with almost the same design as its concept. Let’s take a closer look.
Mahindra BE Rall-E Spied Testing Again
BE 6 has already emerged as the sportiest and the wildest mainstream electric SUV ever launched in India. But what’s wilder than an already wild BE 6, is BE Rall-E, which is a more rugged and off-road-y version. It was showcased as a concept in February 2023 and it has been spied testing multiple times, hinting at a possible launch.
    Mahindra BE Rall-E Spied Testing
What we see, we like. That’s because it is not just a cosmetic nip-and-tuck job, but is a lot more comprehensive than that. BE Rall-E gets its own identity with a new fascia and single-piece LED eyebrow-like DRLs. Below these DRLs, we have circular LED projector headlights and what looks like a real bash plate, instead of a faux skid plate.
    Mahindra BE.Rall-E Concept Luggage Rack
Fortifying its off-road-y appearance, we have better approach angle and higher ground clearance on BE Rall-E than BE 6. Wheels on BE Rall-E are steelies which look like they could be 17-inchers and are wrapped with all-terrain tyres. The main unmistakable design distinction with BE Rall-E is the sturdy-looking roof-carrier that grabs a lot of attention as it screams lifestyle.
Upcoming Cars Around Auto Expo 2025 – Mahindra BE.Rall-E
These spy shots also show Mahindra BE Rall-E’s rear for the first time, which has different LED tail lights than BE 6. These LED signature mimics the eyebrow-like LED DRLs seen on the front, which is similar to what concept version had. As BE Rall-E is based on BE 6, it shares the same charging port which is located on rear left quarter panel.
    Mahindra BE.Rall-E Concept
Will it get dual-motor AWD config?
On the inside, BE Rall-E might carry forward the same interior as BE 6 and that is likely to be the case with its powertrains. But because Mahindra BE Rall-E is an off-road-y version, we hope it gets a dual-motor AWD setup that INGLO platform supports. So, more power and torque than already bonkers BE 6 is a possibility.
Mahindra Rall-E Electric SUV Concept Global Debut. From L-R; Pratap Bose, R Velusamy, Rajesh Jejurikar, Anish Shah, Vicky Kaushal, Anand Mahindra, Veejay Nakra
When Mahindra BE Rall-E will launch, is not yet known. The company is yet to launch XUV3XO EV (XUV400 facelift), XEV 7e (electrified XUV700) and other vehicles. The company had put BE Rall-E in ‘Products’ section on their website and not ‘Concept’ section, suggesting that it could be in the pipeline.

Renault Kwid EV Spied On Flatbed Truck – Launch In 2025?

New Renault Kwid EV Spied TestingRenault has been upping its game in the Indian automotive market. The company recently launched CNG retrofit kits on all of its vehicles for Rs 74,999, reaffirming its stance on green mobility. Now, we can see a much greener vehicle testing in India in the form of Kwid EV spied on top of a flatbed truck.
This is not the first time a Renault Kwid EV is spied testing in India. We saw one last year testing in India around August 2024 and it was a Dacia version which is sold as Spring EV. When launched in India, it will bear a Renault logo, similar to what the company did with Duster SUV, which is not launching in India in 2025.
New Renault Kwid EV Spied Testing
    Renault Kwid EV Spied
At the lower end of India’s electric car segment, we have offerings like MG Comet EV and Tata Tiago EV. Where Comet EV is priced at Rs 7.36 without BaaS and Rs 4.99 lakh + Rs 2.9/km (Ex-sh) with BaaS, Tata Tiago EV is priced from Rs 7.99 lakh (Ex-sh). What if there was a new electric car without a battery rental program that costs well below 7 lakh (Ex-sh)?
That is an enticing proposition and Renault seems to be working to do just that. While the spy shots trail for Kiger EV seems to have hit a dead end, the only other road open is Kwid EV. This will be a rebadged Dacia Spring EV and it will bear a Reanult logo and even the Kwid EV name, owing to its already established brand recall.
New Renault Kwid EV (Dacia Spring) – Rear
The recent spy shots show a Renault Kwid EV test mule strapped on top of a flatbed pickup truck. If it was spied in Pune city, one could speculate that it is heading for ARAI certification. However, this particular test mule was spied near Chennai port in Tamil Nadu.
    What to expect?
Notable elements seen from these spy shots include rear tail lights, rear washer and wiper, steel wheels, and what looks like a shark-fin antenna. The camouflage used restricts the visibility of finer design details. When launched in India, it is likely to bear a 26.8 kWh battery pack promising up to 220 km of range on a single charge.
New Renault Kwid EV (Dacia Spring)
Propelling this vehicle is likely to be a single electric motor with up to 64 bhp of peak power. Features-wise, we can expect a new dashboard with EV-specific features like a fully digital TFT instrument cluster to clearly show battery stats and other elements. Launch date is not confirmed and one can expect it to launch after the Duster, Kiger facelift and Triber facelift sometime in 2026.

Tata Harrier EV Spied Undisguised – Launch Nears

Tata Harrier EV Spied UndisguisedWhile following largely the same styling approach as its ICE sibling, Harrier EV will be getting several additional features
As competition intensifies in the electric vehicle segment, Tata Motors aims to boost sales with new product offerings. One of these is the Harrier EV, scheduled for launch on 3rd June. Ahead of that Harrier EV has been spotted undisguised on road tests as seen in the spy shots from automotive enthusiast Avinash Anushe. Harrier EV exudes a macho appeal and massive road presence. Let’s take a look.
Harrier EV Spied Undisguised – Upgrades over ICE Harrier
Based on Tata’s acti.ev Gen 2 EV architecture, Harrier EV is designed to deliver a better performance. It will be Tata’s first electric car to have an all-wheel-drive (AWD) setup. With a dual motor setup, one mounted on each axle, Harrier EV will have improved traction and stability across challenging environments such as off-road, snow and rain. In Tata’s terminology, Harrier EV’s AWD configuration will be marketed as QWD (Quad Wheel Drive).
    Tata Harrier EV Undisguised
With dual motors, Harrier EV will have a higher torque output of around 500 Nm. In comparison, ICE Harrier utilizes a 2.0-litre diesel engine that makes 170 PS and 350 Nm. With the Harrier EV, enthusiasts will be able to unlock more exciting experiences across diverse terrains. Users can also expect enhanced acceleration, easier overtaking and a more dynamic overall performance with the AWD improving handling and versatility.
Overall performance will be further improved with a multi-link rear suspension. In comparison, the ICE Harrier utilizes a torsion beam rear suspension. Users can expect smoother rides over uneven surfaces, along with better handling and stability. Harrier EV will also be getting a self-parking function that Tata calls the ‘Summon Mode’. It is expected that Harrier EV could be equipped with a 60-75 kWh battery pack. Range is expected around 500 km.
    Tata Harrier EV Undisguised
    Exteriors, equipment list
Exterior styling of Harrier EV is largely the same as its ICE counterpart. In the latest spy shots, one can notice the serrated turbine blade wheels that are designed to improve aerodynamic efficiency. The wheels are the same as seen with the unit showcased at the 2025 Bharat Expo. Apart from the wheels, the side profile retains the styling seen with the ICE model. The EV has conventional body-coloured door handles, blacked-out pillars, a slightly rising belt line and the charging port mounted on the right.
At the rear too, Harrier EV has the same profile as the ICE version. At the front, Harrier EV borrows the lighting elements from the ICE Harrier. However, there are some EV-specific differences such as the closed-off grille and a more refined and futuristic bumper section. Harrier EV could also get some new colourways.
    Tata Harrier EV Undisguised
Inside, the equipment list will be mostly the same as seen with ICE Harrier. Some of the key highlights include a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, dual-zone climate control and a 10-speaker JBL sound system. There will be some EV-specific features such as Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) charging. Safety kit will include Level 2 ADAS, 7 airbags, 360° camera, hill hold assist, blind spot monitoring and tyre pressure monitoring system. More

Kia Carens Clavis Electric Spied With Minor Differences – Compared To ICE

Kia Carens Clavis EV SpottedAll-electric Kia Carens Clavis will be available in two variants, with prices starting at around Rs 20 lakh
After launching its new premium MPV, Carens Clavis, Kia is readying the Carens Clavis EV. Being India’s first mass-market 7-seater electric MPV, Clavis EV gets the first-mover advantage. Test vehicles have been spotted multiple times in recent months. Latest spy shots from Andhra Pradesh reveal some new details. Let’s take a look.
Kia Carens Clavis EV – Charging port, ADAS radar module
Similar to Creta EV, the charging port of Clavis EV is located at the front centre. Clavis EV is expected to share the same electric powertrain, as in use with Creta EV. The latter has battery pack options of 42 kWh and 51.4 kWh. Range is 390 km and 473 km, respectively (as per MIDC Part 1 + Part 2 Cycle). Creta EV has a front-axle mounted electric motor, generating 135 PS with the Standard variant and 171 PS with the Long Range variant. Clavis EV is expected to have similar specifications.
    Kia Carens Clavis EV Spotted
Latest spy shots also reveal an ADAS radar module mounted at the front centre. This configuration is slightly different from the ICE Clavis variants that have the ADAS module mounted to the side. This change in radar placement can be due to Clavis EV’s distinct front-end architecture. A centrally positioned radar can improve sensor alignment and field of view. This setup can work better for specific ADAS functions such as adaptive cruise control, lane keeping systems and forward collision warnings.
Overall ADAS package of Clavis EV is expected to be similar as ICE Carens Clavis. There are 20 autonomous ADAS Level 2 features. It includes smart cruise control with stop and go, high beam assist and driver attention warning. Also, blind view monitor, forward collision avoidance assist and rear cross traffic collision warning and avoidance assist.
New Kia Carens Clavis ICE variant
Other safety features expected with Clavis EV include 6-airbags, electronic stability control, hill start assist control, vehicle stability management and all-wheel disc brakes. The MPV will also get tyre pressure monitoring system, front and rear parking sensors, dash cam with dual camera and 360° camera with blind view monitor on the cluster.
Kia Carens Clavis EV – Styling, equipment list
From the spy shots, it appears that Clavis EV is using the same Ice Cube MFR LED headlamps and Star Map LED DRLs with integrated turn signals as seen with the ICE Carens Clavis. However, there will be some other changes at the front to achieve a slightly distinctive profile. Unlike the ICE version, which does not have an LED DRL connecting the front LEDs, the EV variant will have an LED DRL. In addition, there will also be some EV-specific badging around the vehicle. Side profile will remain about the same, although the test vehicle can be seen with a new design for the alloy wheels.
Inside, the equipment list will be largely the same as that of ICE Carens Clavis. Some of the key highlights include a 26.62-inch dual panoramic display panel, front ventilated seats, 4-way powered driver’s seat, wireless charger, BOSE Premium sound system with 8-speakers and ambient lighting. However, Clavis EV could get some additional features such as Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) charging. More

    Xiaomi YU7 Debuts As Tesla Model Y Rival – 835 KM Range, 690 PS, 0-100 In 3.23s

New Xiaomi YU7 DebutsXiaomi’s second EV for the Chinese market and its first electric SUV, the YU7 is scheduled to go on sale later this year in July
A relatively new entrant in the EV space, Xiaomi has already tasted success with the SU7 sedan that has registered cumulative sales of more than 2.58 lakh units. Expanding its portfolio, Xiaomi has now introduced its first electric SUV – the YU7. On paper, Xiaomi YU7 seems to be ahead of Tesla Model Y in many aspects. Let’s check out the details.
Xiaomi YU7 Debuts – Performance, range, specs
Xiaomi is offering the YU7 electric SUV in three variants – Standard, Pro and Max. The Standard variant is available in RWD configuration and is equipped with a 96.3 kWh LFP battery. It can achieve 0 to 100 km/h in just around 3.23 seconds. These numbers are better in comparison to Tesla Model Y.
For context, Tesla Model Y’s top Performance variant generates 510 PS. It has a top speed of 250 km/h and takes 3.7 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h. Xiaomi YU7 Max’s range of 719 km is available with the Model Y Long Range AWD variant. This variant is equipped with a 78-kWh battery pack. Xiaomi YU7 leads in charging time as well, with the capability to add a range of 620 km in just 15 minutes. In comparison, Tesla Model Y can load around 260 km in 15 minutes.
    New Xiaomi YU7 Electric SUV
Xiaomi YU7 – Sporty styling, advanced tech features
In addition to its superior performance, Xiaomi YU7 also has a captivating profile. Dimensionally, the SUV is 4,999 mm long, 1,996 mm wide, 1,600 mm tall and has a wheelbase of 3,000 mm. Increased competition for Tesla Model Y
Experts predict that Xiaomi YU7 can present challenges for Tesla Model Y in the Chinese market. YU7 has potential to be just as successful as the SU7 sedan. As of now, Tesla Model Y is one of the top-selling SUVs in China, ahead of even some ICE-powered SUVs.
    New Xiaomi YU7 Electric SUV
Tesla has an edge across other global markets since Xiaomi currently does not sell EVs outside China. But that can change in the future, as Xiaomi has plans to target overseas markets from 2027 onwards. Even with China as the sole market, Xiaomi is currently ranked 8th globally in BEV sales, commanding a market share of 2.8%. This number is likely to improve after the YU7 SUV is launched in July. New MG Electric SUV Design Patented – Tesla Model Y, Kia EV5 Rival

New MG Electric SUV Design PatentedMG Motor has been launching its electric offensive worldwide. The company has already emerged as a potent electric car manufacturer across multiple markets. Now, MG is working on big guns that will potentially rival high-volume electric SUVs like Tesla Model Y and BYD Sealion 7. Design patents of the same have leaked online. Let’s take a closer look.
New MG Electric SUV Design Patented
SAIC Motor, the parent company of MG Motor, has just filed a design patent of their upcoming electric SUV in Australia. Looking at these leaked design patents, it looks like an enlarged version of MG S5 SUV, but to rival larger vehicles like the Tesla Model Y and BYD’s Sealion 7, which is already launched in India.
New MG Electric SUV Design Patented
Where design is concerned, it looks a lot like the MG S5 SUV and could take S6 or S7 name, when launched. We have a sharp design with a large MG logo in the middle of its fascia. Sleek and striking headlights, LED DRL elements, bumper creases along with the contoured closed-off grille look rather nice.
At the sides, we get conventional door handles, large alloy wheels, sophisticated silhouette with large window area and large rear doors. At the rear, we get connected wrap-around LED tail lights, extended roof spoiler, sporty rear bumper along with rear windshield wiper. There are stylish faux roof rails too, suggesting it will be a premium product.
New MG Electric SUV Design Patented
    What to expect?
Notably, this new MG electric SUV is likely to be a ground-up MG vehicle and not a rebadged vehicle from its sister brands within SAIC Motor’s umbrella. It is said to be underpinned by the same MSP (Modular Scalable Platform) electric car architecture with MG 4, Cyberster sports car and others.
Interior details and powertrain details of this upcoming MG electric SUV are not known yet. When launched, it is expected to be a mid-size SUV rivalling the likes of Tesla Model Y, BYD Sealion 7, Kia EV5 and Volkswagen ID4. There are no official announcements for a launch in India. However, a mid-size premium electric SUV from MG to rival the upcoming Tesla Model Y and recently BYD Sealion 7 does not seem like a bad idea.
