Kia Syros Electric SUV Spied Charging Up – Launch Likely In 2026

Kia Syros Electric SUV Spied Charging UpKia Syros is among the newest entrants in the country’s high-volume Sub 4m SUV space, competing against the likes of Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV3XO, Skoda Kylaq, Renault Kiger, Nissan Magnite and the recently updated Hyundai Venue, among others.
Sales haven’t been kind to Kia Syros, even though it is among the best-equipped and packaged vehicles in this segment. Syros’s sales fell below the 500 units mark in September 2025. Kia is developing an electric version of Syros to boost sales. It has been spied testing multiple times and in the latest spy shots, we can see it getting charged up. Let’s take a closer look.

    Kia Syros Electric SUV Spied
India’s electric car segment has seen a steady growth with many OEMs taking a shot at it to test waters. Kia India is at it too, with Carens Clavis EV, which is India’s first mainstream electric 7-seater vehicle. Now, Kia is cooking a new electric vehicle in their labs in the form of Syros EV, which has been spied testing multiple times.
It will be a derived EV, based on the Syros ICE vehicle. A similar strategy is employed with Carens Clavis and Carens Clavis EV. The name Syros EV or Syros Electric is likely. The latest spy shots looks like they are from South Korea. We can see it being charged at a charging station. It is fully clad with camouflage to conceal its identity.
Kia Syros Electric SUV Spied Charging Up
However, it is difficult to mistake this vehicle with anything else owing to its unique alloy wheel design and its B and C Pillar shapes. It is interesting that Syros EV is running on the same wheels as Syros ICE, which could change with final production version.
Another interesting element with Syros EV is the placement of charging port. With Carens Clavis EV, charging port was in the front at the centre, which was fantastic for practicality. With Syros EV, charging port is present on left front quarter panel, which requires some thought process during the charging period regarding parking.
Kia Syros Electric SUV Spied Charging Up
    What to expect?
One can expect Kia Syros EV to pack slightly more features than Syros. Like fog lights, rain-sensing wipers, cooled glovebox, rear ventilated seats (backrest) and other features. It will retain the 30-inch Trinity display (dual 12.3-inch and a 5-inch) dashboard along with all the bells and whistles including Level-2 ADAS, 360-camera, dashcam, panoramic sunroof and others.
To price it appropriately, Kia Syros Electric SUV might come with around 40 kWh battery pack promising a range of around 400 km on a single charge. A single-motor drivetrain, all-four disc brakes like ICE version and other elements are expected. Launch might happen in 2026. More

The electric version features a closed-off front grille for aerodynamic efficiency and unique alloy wheels. A new rear deck step and reprofiled side steps enhance practicality, while Hilux now comes exclusively in the Double Cab body style based on customer preference.
    2026 Toyota Hilux BEV
Inside, the cabin has been redesigned for greater comfort and modern appeal, drawing inspiration from the new Toyota Land Cruiser. The dashboard features a 12.3-inch customizable driver display and a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, with grouped off-road controls and a new shift-by-wire selector in the BEV variant.

INGLO platform is born electric and it offers a flat floor without any transmission tunnel. The skateboard platform of INGLO architecture ensures better space management ensuring your family travels in utmost comfort.
Adding to overall comfort is the fact that Mahindra XEV 9S will come with sliding 2nd row seats. This allows flexibility for 2nd row occupants to slide back for maximum comfort or carve out more knee room for 3rd row occupants. Adding versatility is folding 3rd row seats, which will unlock a cavernous boot space.
    Mahindra XEV 9e Frunk
    Full Sized Usable Frunk
Unlike rival brands that offer a frunk as an after-though, the frunk on Mahindra XEV 9S is inviting. Bonnet gets assisted pneumatic struts for a premium experience and it opens up to a full-sized frunk and a curated experience. These elements make XEV 9S’s frunk genuinely useful, further adding versatility to the overall package.
    Mahindra XEV 9S
    Dual-Pane Openable Panoramic Sunroof
Sunroof has emerged as an aspirational feature for Indian SUV buyers. In BE 6 and XEV 9e, Mahindra offered a fixed glass roof. With Mahindra XEV 9S, the company will offer a dual-pane panoramic sunroof that can open to let fresh air inside the cabin.
Mahindra BE 6 and XEV 9e
30,000 Mahindra Electric Origin SUVs sold
With the Mahindra XEV 9S, the brand is once again pushing boundaries — combining space, technology, and performance in a way that’s unmistakably Mahindra. Built on the powerful INGLO platform and backed by the trust of over 30,000 Mahindra eSUVs already on Indian roads, the XEV 9S is not just an SUV — it’s the next milestone in India’s electric journey. VinFast Limo Green 7s Electric MPV Spied Testing In India – Carens Clavis EV Rival

VinFast Limo Green 7s Electric MPV SpiedVietnamese EV maker VinFast seems to be accelerating its plans for the Indian market. After filing design patents earlier this year, its upcoming Limo Green 7-seater electric MPV has now been spotted testing on Indian roads for the very first time. These latest spy shots, captured by automotive enthusiast Sandeep, reveal a fully camouflaged test mule, hinting that India could be one of the key markets for this new electric people mover.
    First-ever sighting in India
The heavily camouflaged prototype closely resembles the design of the VinFast Limo Green, which was recently launched in Vietnam. The test mule features the same tall, upright stance, distinctive vertical tail lamps, and a large glasshouse — elements clearly visible despite the camouflage. The alloy wheel design and the tailgate profile appear similar to the model seen in the earlier patent filings, further confirming its identity.
VinFast Limo Green 7s Electric MPV Spied
From the side, the vehicle’s silhouette suggests a three-row seating layout, and the upright proportions confirm that it will prioritize cabin space and practicality. The test mule also features a digital instrument cluster visible through the windshield, confirming that the model is in an advanced stage of testing.
    Built for Indian roads
The Limo Green measures around 4.74 meters in length with a 2,840 mm wheelbase. Ground clearance is expected to be around 170 mm, well-suited for Indian road conditions.

Under the skin, the Limo Green is powered by a 60.1 kWh battery pack paired with a 201 bhp electric motor, producing 280 Nm of torque. It’s a front-wheel-drive setup, offering a certified range of around 450 km (NEDC). Fast charging from 10–70% is said to take just 30 minutes.
VinFast Limo Green 7s Electric MPV Spied
    Interior and features
In Vietnam, the Limo Green features a clean, minimalist cabin with a 10.1-inch infotainment display, leatherette upholstery, 360-degree camera, and a floating centre console. The model will likely bring similar equipment to India, with three-row seating for seven occupants.
If launched in India, the VinFast Limo Green would become one of the few all-electric 7-seater MPVs, joining the likes of the BYD eMAX 7 and the Kia Carens Clavis EV. Given its size and feature set, it could also appeal to both premium family buyers and fleet operators seeking a spacious, eco-friendly people carrier.
VinFast Limo Green 7s Electric MPV Spied
    Made in Tamil Nadu
VinFast has already inaugurated its Toothukudi facility in Tamil Nadu, the company’s first manufacturing plant outside Vietnam. The new facility will support local production and exports, and the Limo Green could very well be one of the first models assembled there.
In Vietnam, the Limo Green is priced at around VND 749 million (approx. Rs 25 lakh), inclusive of a 7-year/1.6 lakh km warranty. If priced competitively in India, the model could be a strong addition to the growing electric MPV segment. With local testing now underway, expect the VinFast Limo Green to make its Indian debut sometime next year, strengthening the brand’s portfolio alongside the VF6 and VF7 electric SUVs. More

Honda New Innovations For Next-Gen EVs – Tactile Gear Shifts, Engine Feedback

    Honda Super-ONE Prototype
While Honda seems to be late in the EV race, the brand is working on multiple new technologies to ensure a clear distinction against rivals
Honda is stepping up focus on hybrids and EVs, which will help the brand to achieve its carbon neutrality goals. In addition to developing new platforms and models, Honda is also working on new tech innovations. These will power its next-gen cars. One such feature that is getting everyone’s attention is the 7-speed simulated gear shifts and engine sounds. The aim is to bring the overall experience closer to that of driving an ICE car. While also retaining the benefits of an EV. Let’s check out the details.
    Honda simulated gearbox, engine sounds
New innovations such as the simulated gearbox and engine sounds are expected to debut with the production version of the Super-ONE Prototype. The hatchback model with Kei car specifications was unveiled at the Japan Mobility Show 2025. It is expected to be launched in Japan in 2026, followed by other markets such as the UK and Asia.
    Honda Super-ONE Prototype
Complex systems will power Honda’s new 7-speed simulated gearbox. But it will be fairly easy to operate from the user’s perspective. In practical terms, the simulated gearbox will mimic the function of gear shifts in an ICE car. The simulated gearbox will respond to driver inputs and driving conditions in largely the same way as an ICE car. It will be capable of simulating engine speed and gear position.
When engaging the simulated gearbox, users will be able to experience changes in vehicle speed and behaviour during specific manoeuvres such as cornering. Users can also experience the kickdown effect associated with an ICE car with automatic transmission. This occurs when the accelerator pedal is pressed fully to the floor, prompting the transmission to downshift to a lower gear to achieve a quick burst of acceleration.
Prototype based on New Mid-Size Hybrid Platform
Honda’s upcoming next-gen EVs will also have a ‘Boost’ mode, which will unlock the full available power for optimized acceleration. This can be quite useful during overtaking across urban environments and highways. Honda’s upcoming EVs will also be able to mimic the ‘fuel cut’ experience associated with ICE cars. This occurs when the fuel injection is shut temporarily during deceleration. Another interesting feature is simulated engine sounds, aimed at delivering a more immersive and emotionally engaging driving experience.
    Launch in India?
Honda has stated that its new innovations in the EV segment will be exclusively for the production version of the Super-ONE prototype. As mentioned earlier, the production version will go on sale in Japan in 2026. While there is no official confirmation, it is possible that these new innovations could also be introduced with the India-bound 0 Series EVs.
Since there will be additional costs for these innovations, it is likely that these features will be offered as optional or with the top-spec variants. This is especially true for the Indian market, where competition in the electric segment is intensifying. More
