New Ather 450X Electric Scooter With More Power Leaks – Is It Gen 4?

Gen 3 made 6.2 kW of peak power in Warp Mode, Gen 4 Ather 450X is rated to make 6.4 kW of peak power in Warp ModeAther Electric ScooterIf you thought that Gen 3 Ather 450X marked the height of Bengaluru-based company’s R&D department for some time, you’re in for a surprise. We have come across an NCT type approval for a new 450X. This shows Ather’s relentless approach toward pushing out new electric scooters. This new document shows 450X as the base model even though that is less likely as 450 Plus is their base model. There are two settings, which indicate Gen 4 Ather 450 Plus will be launched alongside Gen 4 Ather 450X. Let’s take a look at all the changes.Gen 4 Ather 450X Homologated?Gen 4 battery capacity is still 3.66 kWh (Nickel Cobalt based). Which was up from 2.6 kWh of 450X Gen 2. Ather seems to have incorporated beefed-up cooling systems over the Gen 3 model. A beefier casing is also a possibility. We say this because Gen 3 battery pack used to weigh 19 kg in total, while Gen 4 battery pack weighs 22 kg.Even though the battery chemistry or cells seems to be the same, Gen 4 Ather 450X will come with more oomph. How much more oomph? One might ask. Gen 3 made 6.2 kW of peak power in Warp Mode, Gen 4 is rated to make 6.4 kW of peak power in Warp Mode. Sport Mode makes 5.8 kW, Ride Mode is rated at 3.2 kW, Smart Eco Mode is rated at 2.3 kW and Eco Mode is rated at 1.9 kW in terms of peak power.Gen 4 Ather 450X HomologatedThere is a “Setting 2” that is mentioned in the document which is likely to be Gen 4 Ather 450 Plus. This doesn’t get Warp Mode and the power figures for the rest of the modes are similar to “Setting 1” which is Gen 4 Ather 450X. Continuous power is now 3.1 kW in Warp Mode, down from 3.3 kW. Range for Setting 1 is 146 km and 108 km for Setting 2 which are largely similar to gen 3 products.Dimension ChangesAther is reportedly working on a new affordable model to rival Ola S1. It will have a smaller battery and fewer features. This new development is unlikely to be the aforementioned affordable model. Ather calls this 450X which is the company’s top-spec vehicle till now. This is likely to be a generational change like we saw with Gen 3. Just too early in the life cycle.Gen 3 had zilch changes to its dimensions over Gen 2. That is not the case with Gen 4 Ather 450X. Length is similar at 1,837 mm. Width is now 739 mm over 734 mm in Gen 3. Overall height is now 1,114 mm, down from 1,250 mm of previous generation. With Gen 4 Ather 450X, wheelbase has gone up by 1 mm.Looking at these changes, Ather could have gone for 10” wheels instead of 12”. Or this new 450X could very well offer a sporty and committed posture too, owing to its revised height. Whatever it is, that is cooking at Ather’s labs, will break cover in the coming months. This upcoming electric scooter will rival Ola S1 Pro, Hero Vida V1 Pro, Bajaj Chetak, TVS iQube and the likes. More

TVS Raider 125 To Get 5 Inch TFT Screen, Navigation – New Features

Updated Raider 125 will retain the same 125cc engine with a 3V head, silent starter and oil-coolingNew TVS RaiderRaider 125 is a unique proposition when it comes to 125cc commuters. In the sea of boring-looking commuters, TVS has launched its Raider 125 and has created quite a niche for itself by offering a modern look. It is decently sized, decently proportioned and comes off as a well-rounded package. When we compared TVS Raider 125 with Keeway SR125 and Bajaj Pulsar NS125, the former comes off as the most balanced product. With segment-first features like a fully-digital instrument cluster, LED headlight and taillights, and unique DRLs to name a few. Rivals in this cut-throat segment are less forgiving and Hero MotoCorp came up with Passion XTEC with connectivity features as well. Now, the Hosur-based company is set to pull an ace through its sleeves and has teased a large display for updated Raider 125. TVS had promised an updated Raider 125 with a 5” colour TFT screen. Dubbed “The Wicked Update” for Raider 125, TVS has a couple of options to execute this feat. Let’s take a look.Updated Raider 125 To Feature 5” Colour TFT ScreenTVS has a 5” colour display that is equipped with base model of iQube electric scooter. Mid-spec S variant of iQube got a 7” colour TFT display with a D-pad to interact with it. Raider is likely to get the 5” colour TFT screen from Base-spec iQube electric scooter. To control and operate this screen, TVS might provide the D-pad from S trim iQube electric scooter.Upcoming Updated Raider 125Raider 125 already got a reverse LCD display with features like side stand indication, DTE, gear position indication, average speed recorder, dual trip meters, top speed recorder, and ride modes indication (Eco and Power). Updated Raider 125 is likely to get TVS’ Smart Xonnect Bluetooth connectivity that enables navigation and voice assistance, as teased by TVS themselves.Currently, TVS Raider prices start from Rs. 90K for drum brake variant and Rs. 95K for disc brake variant. Another way to look at this would be that a 5” single-unit colour TFT display is unheard of in a sub Rs. 1 lakh 125cc commuter. We have seen much more expensive products that get outdated instrument consoles.Specs & PricingUpdated Raider 125 will retain the outgoing model’s 125cc single-cylinder engine. This engine gets segment-first features like a 3V head, silent starter and oil cooling, even though it is not readily visible. It is capable of making 11.22 bhp at 7,500 RPM and 11.2 Nm of peak torque at 6,000 RPM. It gets mated to a 5-speed gearbox.Pricing might cross the Rs. 1 lakh mark and even go to Rs. 1.05 lakh with updated Raider 125. With features like turn-by-turn navigation, music controls, calls alerts and notifications, updated Raider 125 comes off as a more appealing product than Passion XTEC by Hero MotoCorp. Launch will happen on 19th October in a virtual event called Motoverse. More

    Yamaha Oct 2022 Price Hike – R15, MT15, FZX, FZ25

Yamaha October 2022 hike only affect a handful of motorcycles and scooters are exempted, altogetherImage – MRD VlogsYamaha Motor India takes 7th spot when it comes to retail sales in September 2022. With 43,390 units sold in September 2022, Yamaha registered a 6.58% YoY growth over 40,710 units sold in September 2021 and gained 2,680 units in volume. When it comes to MoM analysis, Yamaha falls in the red with 46,148 units sold in August 2022 with a 5.98% MoM drop in sales and lost 2,758 units in volume. Yamaha’s market share stood at 4.27% in September 2022. With a slight setback, Yamaha has braced itself for the all-important festive season.Yamaha has kept itself busy and has generated headlines with Yamaha India Trackday at BIC for R3, R15, MT15, Aerox and FZ owners. For the month of October 2022, Yamaha is creating headlines again. This time, for a different reason, though. A price hike. Let’s take a look.Yamaha Oct 2022 Price HikeLast known price hike was at the beginning of August 2022. That one was a comprehensive hike that affected most of Yamaha’s portfolio except for drum brake equipped models of Fascino. Yamaha October 2022 hike doesn’t affect a lot of products. Only a handful.Yamaha Motorcycles Price Hike October 2022Yamaha’s FZ-FI, FZS-FI and FZS-FI Deluxe are exempt from this price hike. All these motorcycles are powered by a 149cc single-cylinder engine making 12.2 bhp of power and 13.3 Nm of torque. This is a fairly basic engine that only gets air-cooling and is coupled to a 5-speed gearbox. Range starts from Rs. 1,13,700 for FZ-FI (ex-sh, Delhi). We have FZ-X, which is a neo-retro derivative of FZ-FI that we covered in the previous paragraph. It is a visually different machine from FZ-FI and its variations. FZ-X gets a price hike of Rs. 1,000. Prices now start from Rs. 1,33,900 which used to start from Rs. 1,32,900. This price hike for FZ-X accounts for an increment of 0.75%.FZ 25 and FZS 25 are bigger siblings in FZ range in India. Powered by a 249cc single-cylinder engine, FZ 25 makes 20.51 bhp of power and 20.1 Nm of torque. FZS 25 is a stylized variant of FZ 25. Both FZ 25 and FZS 25 now get a price hike of Rs. 1,000 each. Prices start from Rs. 1,47,900, which used to start from Rs. 1,46,900.Yamaha Scooters Price Hike October 2022Scooters Don’t Get Any HikeBoth R15 and MT 15 are at the premium end of 150cc motorcycles spectrum. Both are powered by a 155cc single-cylinder engine making 18.14 bhp of power and 14.1 Nm of torque. This engine is coupled to a 6-speed gearbox and gets modern features like liquid cooling, VVA and more. MT 15 gets Rs. 500 price hike in October 2022. Prices now start from Rs. 1,64,900 for regular MT 15 V2 and 1,65,900 for Monster Energy MotoGP Edition. Bajaj Pulsar NS 125 Vs Vs New Keeway SR 125 Vs TVS Raider – Specs, Price

Priced at Rs. 1.19 lakh, Keeway SR125 seems to justify its price, when taking into account all the extra goodies it brings to the tableImage – Bike Point By Mintu&RahulAs part of Keeway’s 8 motorcycles launch strategy in India, we got SR125. As a final installment, Keeway SR250 launch is likely to happen sometime in the near future. SR125 was previously predicted to be priced at a premium end of 125cc spectrum. At Rs. 1.19 lakh (ex-sh) it is at the pricey end of 125cc motorcycle spectrum, but not as pricey in comparison. We have TVS Raider and Bajaj Pulsar NS125 which could be termed as premium 125cc commuters. They are priced slightly more than regular 125cc commuters and come with their own charm. Speaking of charm, Keeway SR125 has loads of it and at Rs. 1.19 lakh, one can even say that it is justifiable. Let’s take a closer look.Keeway SR125 Vs Premium 125cc CommutersLooks are subjective. In this case, Pulsar NS125 comes off as a sporty product owing to its NS200’s body. It is the most muscular of this lot. Raider 125 also has some muscles to flex and has a unique design. Keeway SR125 looks the most charming as it pays tribute to motorcycles of yesteryear.Raider 125 is the only one to get oil cooling, even though it doesn’t fall into sight immediately. SR125 and NS125 only get air cooling. All three motorcycles get a 5-speed gearbox coupled with their engines. Speaking of, NS125 leads this comparo with 11.6 bhp at 8,500 RPM. Followed by 11.2 bhp at 7,500 RPM by Raider 125 and lastly, we have Keeway SR125 with 9.56 bhp at 9,000 RPM.Keeway SR125 Vs RivalsTorque is 11.2 Nm at 6,000 RPM on Raider 125 followed by 11 Nm at 7,000 RPM of NS125 and lastly, 8.2 Nm at 7,500 RPM on SR125. Keeway’s commuter makes lowest power and lowest torque at a higher rev range as opposed to its rivals. Raider strikes the best balance in this aspect. Keeway is lightest at 120 kg followed by 123 kg on TVS and NS125 weighs fricking 144 kg.Despite its weight advantage, Keeway is less likely to be very peppy owing to its fatter 110/70-17 front and 130/70-17 rubber at the rear. Fatter tyres look good but increase the contact patch. Coupled with least performance at a high rev range, SR125 doesn’t seem to be appealing on paper. Both Raider and NS125 come with 80/100-17 at front and 100/90-17 at the rear.Features & PricingKeeway SR125 gets spoke wheels coupled with tube tyres while the other two get alloy wheels with tubeless tyres. Owing to its platform sharing with NS200, NS125 has the longest wheelbase. Ground clearance is the highest with Raider 125. Keeway strikes back with a 14.5L fuel tank which is the highest in the segment and maybe even a segment above. As opposed to a rear disc brake offered by Keeway SR125, Raider and NS only offer drum brakes. All three offer front disc brakes (optional with Raider). Keeway offers the largest in-segment 300mm disc at front and 210 mm disc at the rear. Owing to its old-school appeal, SR125 gets rear dual shockers as opposed to monoshock units on others.NS125 comes off as dated, credit to its halogen headlight and analog/digital instrumentation. Both SR125 and Raider offer LED headlights and the former even offers LED blinkers as well. The only chink in Keeway’s armour might be its limited dealership network. Priced at Rs. 1.19 lakh, Keeway SR125 seems to justify its price, when taking into account all the extra goodies it brings to the table. Raider 125 starts from Rs. 90,000 and NS125 costs Rs. 1.05 lakh (all prices ex-sh). More

2023 Royal Enfield Bullet 350 Render In New Colours – Launch Soon

Bullet 350 has remained a favourite since several decades owing to its rustic charm and ‘go anywhere’ capabilities2023 Royal Enfield Bullet 350 RenderMarket leader in middleweight motorcycle segment, Royal Enfield is on a mission to refresh its 350cc portfolio. The first bike to get the all new platform and J-series engine was Meteor 350, launched in 2020. Last year, new-gen Classic 350 was launched and this year, we saw the launch of Hunter 350. Now, it’s Bullet 350’s turn to get the generation update.New-gen Bullet 350 stylingWhile there are some visual tweaks, new-gen Bullet retains much of its core character. Just like its predecessors, the bike’s striking road presence and bold attitude will continue to be a major draw for enthusiasts. Some of the key changes that have been seen on test mules include a new headlamp and taillamp. These are not very different from the ones used on new-gen Classic 350.Chrome highlights have been used liberally and they are around the same level as compared to existing Bullet. Chrome bits can be seen on the headlamp, turn indicators, fuel tank and rear view mirrors. The long chrome plated exhaust pipe is another feature that makes the bike hard to miss on the streets.Retro theme is largely the same as earlier, with features like round headlamp and turn indicators, classic tear-drop shaped fuel tank, old-school utility boxes on the side, broad rear mud guard and wire-spoke wheels. Based on the production-specs spy shots, Pratyush Rout has created digital renders of 2023 Bullet 350. Please note that these renders are work of an independent artist and not commissioned by Royal Enfield.2023 Royal Enfield Bullet 350 RenderIt is possible that some new colour options can be introduced for new-gen Bullet 350. In its current form, standard Bullet is offered in colour options of Black, Onyx Black and Bullet Silver. Bullet ES (Electric Start) variant has more sprightly colour options such as Regal Red and Royal Blue.Riding ergonomics remains largely similar, although the single-piece saddle could get better quality foam for improved user experience. The bike has a wide, ergonomically placed handlebar for optimal comfort and minimal strain. Scooped out rider’s section of the seat ensures optimal comfort and control. Pillion seat section is long and wide and comes with grab rails for added convenience and safety.New-gen Bullet 350 engineNew-gen Bullet will be using the new 350cc platform, currently in use with Meteor and new Classic 350. The engine will be the new J-series unit that makes 20.2 bhp of max power and 27 Nm of peak torque. It is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The existing 350cc engine delivers slightly less power at 19.1 bhp. However, torque is higher at 28 Nm.2023 Royal Enfield Bullet 350 RenderDifference in power and torque numbers isn’t big enough to make any major difference in actual ride experience. Moreover, it is a fact that the new 350cc platform and engine have been able to significantly reduce vibrations. Users have reported much smoother rides on Meteor 350 and new Classic 350. These benefits will be available with new Bullet as well. More
