Hennessey 2021 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat Has 1012 Horsepower

  • Hennessey has announced its HPE1000 upgrade for the 2021 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat.
  • The upgrade pumps out 1012 horsepower and 969 lb-ft of torque from the supercharged 6.2-liter V-8.
  • Hennessey claims a 2.8-second launch to 60 mph and a 10.8-second quarter-mile at 126 mph.

The 2021 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat is the latest proof that FCA can do whatever the hell it wants with the Hellcat supercharged V-8, although it’s only offering the 710-hp three-row SUV for one year. Of course, Hennessey Performance Engineering has to make a statement and do something that few people asked for: make the Durango Hellcat have more than 1000 horsepower.

Only 50 Durango SRT Hellcat HPE1000s will be built, and Hennessey installs a 2.7-liter supercharger (the stock Durango Hellcat has a 2.4-liter supercharger), stainless steel long-tube headers, and an upgraded pulley and throttle bodies to make the extra power. The result is a claimed 1012 horsepower and 969 lb-ft of torque, up from 710 horsepower and 645 lb-ft, a claimed zero-to-60 mph time of 2.8 seconds, and a 10.8-second quarter-mile at 126 mph.

As per usual with the absurd Hennesseys, the Durango SRT Hellcat HPE1000 is adorned with HPE1000 badges to let people know how much power Hennessey claims, plus serial-numbered plaques and a set of custom wheels.

The 2021 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat HPE1000 is available to order now. Each of the limited edition of 50 comes with a one-year/12,000-mile warranty and extra-loud supercharger whines. Pricing hasn’t been announced, but considering that the 2021 Durango Hellcat is priced starting at $82,490, the Hennessey version is likely to reach or exceed the $100,000 mark.
