Hennessey Ram TRX 6×6 Makes 1200 HP, Available to Order Friday

Hennessey Performance Engineering

  • Hennessey Performance will open orders on the Mammoth 6×6, a 1200-hp tune of the Ram TRX, this Friday at 1 p.m. ET.
  • There will only be three Mammoths, and they will cost $500,000 apiece.
  • Hennessey says this is its most expensive, most exclusive truck ever.

What’s the craziest idea you’ve had this month? Starting an ice-cream drone business to serve luxury high-rises? Snipping the transatlantic communications cable so we can get a redo on this whole internet thing? Going in public without a mask on? Whatever it was, John Hennessey, founder and CEO of the eponymous tuning house, has probably had 10 crazier. At least one of those will soon become a reality when Hennessey opens orders for its newest creation, the Mammoth 6×6, at 1 p.m. ET this Friday, September 4.

The Mammoth 6×6 will be a three-axle, six-wheel version of the new 2021 Ram 1500 TRX, which itself is essentially a 702-hp off-road tune on a regular Ram 1500. Yes, 702 horsepower is enough for most people, but probably not for most people who shop at Hennessey, so the Mammoth will be powered by a tuned-up version of Dodge’s supercharged 7.0-liter Hellephant crate engine. Under normal circumstances (if you can call them normal), the Hellephant produces 1000 horsepower. Hennessey says their version will make 1200 hp.

In addition to the extra wheels and the power bump, you’ll get an upgraded off-road suspension, new front and rear bumpers, upgraded LED lights, and a couple of angry-elephant decals that will inspire envy in those in the know and thoroughly confuse everyone else.

So that’s the good news. The bad news? There will only be three, and they’ll cost around $500,000. If you can stomach the cost, place your order by phone at 800–897–0426.
