- Lexus has announced that the 2021 Lexus LC500 convertible will start at $102,025 and go on sale this summer.
- It’s powered by a naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V-8 that produces 471 horsepower.
- Lexus is also adding Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability, as well as standard lane-keeping assist and lane-departure warning.
Lexus has finally given the gorgeous LC sports car a retractable-softtop model for the 2021 model year, and it’ll start at $102,025—that’s $8000 more than the LC500 coupe. An LC500 Convertible Inspiration Series, the blue-on-white leather example that was revealed at the 2019 Los Angeles auto show, starts at $120,825 and is limited to 100 units.
Lexus says that the LC500 convertible’s top opens in 15 seconds and closes back up in 16, and that the convertible model has the same driving dynamics as the coupe because of the addition of structural braces. It’s powered by the same 471-hp naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V-8 that’s found in the coupe, and during Car and Driver testing, the coupe achieved a 4.7-second sprint from zero to 60 mph.
The LC500 Inspiration Series, which will cost about the base price of a Kia Soul more than the standard convertible, comes with Structural Blue paint, a Marine (navy blue) soft top, and a Bespoke Amalfi White leather interior. Oh, and you get a two-piece Zero Halliburton luggage set.
Also for 2021, Lexus is adding Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability to the 10.3-inch infotainment screen along with lane-keeping assist and lane-departure warning as standard equipment. The 2021 Lexus LC500 convertible will arrive at dealers starting this summer.
