- We should learn more about this special Jeep soon.
It seems Jeep is getting a bit jealous of all the attention the Ford Bronco is getting lately. The company posted a teaser image on Twitter that’s sure to garner some curiosity, as it shows a Wrangler (or Gladiator) with a “392” badge on the hood.

In FCA parlance, 392 clearly denotes a 6.4-liter Hemi V-8; this engine is found in 392 versions of the Charger and Challenger, as well as the Durango SRT, making around 485 horsepower. This Wrangler also appears to have a huge hood scoop hinting at the extra power.
While Jeep has created a few one-off V-8–powered Wranglers over the years, it’s never offered such a powerful engine option from the factory. The Wrangler and Gladiator currently offer three engine options: a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four with 270 horsepower, a 3.6-liter V-6 with 285 horsepower, and a turbo-diesel 3.0-liter V-6 with 260 horsepower.
We hope to learn more soon about just what Jeep is hinting at with this photo.
