Infiniti Introduces Digital Purchasing and At-Home Test Drives

  • Infiniti Now is the name of the upscale brand’s digital shopping and at-home test drive and delivery service.
  • Potential buyers of an Infiniti can take care of all the preliminary hassle of buying a car without leaving the house and can schedule a 24-hour at-home test drive.
  • The service center is also getting in on the action with inspections and service pricing shared with customers via smartphone.

More and more automakers, especially higher-end brands such as Genesis, are offering up online shopping and at-home test drives to potential buyers in reaction to the coronavirus pandemic. The latest to join the fray is Infiniti. It has launched its Infiniti Now service to take care of both current and potential owners of the luxury vehicles.

The new service offers online shopping, research, and financing arrangements with Infiniti personnel via text or video. More importantly, potential buyers can schedule an at-home test drive that lasts up to 24 hours. If all goes well, the vehicle is delivered to the new buyer’s house.

As for paperwork, via the digital shopping tool the buyer can opt either to sign the paperwork in the delivered vehicle while the Infiniti representative waits, or they can sign the paperwork, scan it, and send it digitally to the dealership.

For owners of the automaker’s vehicles, Inifiniti Now adds additional features to the service center with pickup and drop-off service and an interactive multipoint inspection using the company’s ICAR-X service. The system shares the vehicle’s condition post inspection with a price breakdown of items that need service. With their phone, the owner can authorize any service or repairs without having to visit the shop.

Beta testing of Infiniti Now is already underway, with the full rollout to select dealers set to begin on June 1.
