Most expensive among the 3 Bajaj bikes discontinued in January 2025 was Pulsar F250, a faired version of Pulsar N250
With the beginning of the calendar year 2025, Indian automotive market is embracing the newness and potential sales. At Bajaj Auto, things are different, as the company has discontinued three of its motorcycles. Two of these motorcycles belonged to 110cc and 125cc commuter space, while one was a premium quarter-litre offering. Let’s take a look.
3 Bajaj Bikes Discontinued In January 2025
Bajaj Auto is gearing up to launch an updated Pulsar RS200. Ahead of it, Bajaj seems to be on a cleanup exercise as it has discontinued three of its motorcycles. Two commuters and one premium sports tourer, to be precise. These vehicles are also delisted from official company website as well.
Discontinued motorcycles are Pulsar F250 (faired version of Pulsar N250), Platina 110 ABS (only the ABS variant is discontinued) and lastly CT 125X. At the end of their lifecycle, Pulsar F250 was around Rs 1.5 lakh (Ex-sh), CT 125X was priced around Rs 73K (Ex-sh) for drum variant and Rs 77K (Ex-sh) for disc variant.
Lastly, we have Platina 110 ABS discontinued, as part of Bajaj’s recent strategies. It has to be noted that only the ABS variant has been discontinued by the brand, while non-ABS variant continued to be on sale. At the end of its lifecycle, Platina 110 ABS was priced at around Rs 79K (Ex-sh).
Why were they discontinued?
This is an interesting question and Bajaj has not exactly stated reasons regarding the discontinuation of these three motorcycles. That said, one can speculate that these motorcycles were garnering lower sales consistently than what the company was expecting.
Pulsar F250 was the spiritual successor of iconic Pulsar 220F. However, Pulsar F250 failed to captivate buyers. In fact, buyers were more interested to buy older Pulsar 220F, forcing Bajaj to bring it back from the dead. Even while updating Pulsar F250, Bajaj didn’t give it improved components like USD forks, which the Pulsar N250 got.
The main USP of Bajaj CT 125X was being the most rugged 125cc commuter motorcycle sold in India. In Bajaj’s lineup, CT 125X was positioned above CT 110X. Affordability was another USP of CT 125X after being rugged in design. CT 125X offered performance of a 125cc bike while being priced like a 110cc motorcycle.
Lastly, Bajaj also discontinued the Platina 110 ABS. This was the only 110cc commuter in India to offer an option of ABS. Buyers in this segment and price bracket doesn’t seem to be willing to pay more for safer braking. Thus, Bajaj seems to have discontinued it along with CT 125X and Pulsar F250.
