The Indian scooter market witnessed strong growth in November 2024, with the top 10 scooters achieving a combined sale of 5,30,227 units, a significant 13.60% increase compared to 4,66,741 units in November 2023. Here’s a detailed look at the performance of the top-selling scooters.

Honda Activa continued to dominate the scooter market, leading the charts with 2,06,844 units sold, registering a growth of 5.50% year-on-year (YoY) with 10,789 additional units sold compared to November 2023. TVS Jupiter secured the second spot with 99,710 units, showcasing a remarkable growth of 36.85% YoY, driven by its strong market presence and updated features.

In third place, Suzuki Access recorded sales of 54,118 units, growing by 3.06% YoY. Ola S1 (Retail), a leading electric scooter, claimed the fourth spot with 29,204 units sold, although it experienced a slight decline of 2.89% YoY. Honda Dio followed in fifth, selling 27,779 units, reflecting a solid growth of 15.85%.

TVS Ntorq, known for its sporty appeal, sold 26,664 units but saw a 12.28% decline YoY. Bajaj Chetak stood out as the star performer in November, registering a massive 205.24% YoY growth with 25,860 units sold, up from 8,472 units in November 2023, highlighting the increasing adoption of electric scooters. TVS iQube also made significant strides, achieving 25,681 units in sales and growing by 53.76% YoY. Suzuki Burgman Street showed robust growth, with 17,389 units sold and a 34.37% increase YoY, cementing its place as a popular premium scooter. Rounding out the top 10, Hero Pleasure recorded sales of 16,978 units but experienced a steep decline of 25.38% YoY.

Following the strong year-on-year (YoY) growth in scooter sales, the month-on-month (MoM) performance for November 2024 showed a sharp decline as the market adjusted post the festive season in October. Total sales for the top 10 scooters dropped by 19.54%, with 5,30,227 units sold in November compared to 6,58,991 units in October — a loss of 1,28,764 units.

Honda Activa, while maintaining its lead in the scooter segment, recorded a steep MoM decline of 22.47%, with sales dropping by 59,962 units to 2,06,844 in November. TVS Jupiter, the second-best-selling scooter, saw a 9.11% drop, selling 99,710 units compared to 1,09,702 units in October. Suzuki Access experienced a significant 27.66% decline, with sales reducing to 54,118 units, down by 20,695 units from October. Ola S1 (Retail), a prominent electric scooter, registered a 29.88% drop, selling 29,204 units compared to 41,651 units the previous month. Honda Dio followed with sales of 27,779 units, reflecting a 16.28% decline.

TVS Ntorq, known for its sporty appeal, saw the sharpest decline among the top 10, with sales dropping by 33.45% to 26,664 units. Bajaj Chetak, despite its YoY growth, experienced a 15.61% decline MoM, selling 25,860 units in November. TVS iQube also saw a dip, with sales dropping by 11.21% to 25,681 units. Similarly, Suzuki Burgman recorded a 15.09% decline, selling 17,389 units in November. Hero Pleasure was the only scooter among the top 10 to post positive MoM growth, recording a significant 33.38% increase in sales. It sold 16,978 units in November, up by 4,249 units compared to October.
