Until Xpulse 210 is launched, Hero seems to be upping the excitement around Xpulse 200 4V by launching a limited Dakar Edition
World’s leading motorcycle manufacturer, Hero MotoCorp, has been on a mission to make its premium lineup more appealing than before. In that regard, Hero has just launched Xpulse 200 Dakar Edition in India, priced at Rs 1.67 lakh (Ex-sh), a slight price increment on the Pro variant on which it is based. The sole colour is Gloss Goldfish Silver.

ADVs and off-road motorcycles have been gaining popularity in India, owing to buyers’ increased thirst for thrill and adventure. Catering to this niche, Hero MotoCorp offers Xpulse 200 4V in India, which is the country’s most affordable off-road machine. Also, Xpulse 200 4V Pro variant is country’s most affordable off-roader with fully adjustable suspension.
Hero is targeting enthusiasts and beginners alike by offering cutting-edge suspension technology for the masses to hone their off-road skills. Now, Hero is adding a dash of excitement with the Xpulse 200 Pro variant with the launch of a Dakar Rally Edition priced at Rs 1.67 lakh (Ex-sh).
Bookings for this motorcycle commenced today, 18th December 2024, and deliveries are expected to start soon. Hero Xpulse Dakar Edition is a limited edition model that promises unlimited adventures. However, one has to note that the announcement of this Dakar Rally is ahead of Xpulse 210 launch, which has been unveiled already.
What are the changes?
Hero Xpulse 200 Dakar Edition is based on the highly capable Pro variant of this motorcycle. This means it gets all the attributes we love from the Xpulse 200 Pro variant. These include fully adjustable front (rebound and compression) and rear (rebound and pre-load) suspension, 270mm tall ground clearance, handlebar risers for enhanced riding position and more.
Motorcycle shown in promo video also featured Maxxis knobby off-road tyres as well, which could be part of the package. Main differences are in looks department. Dakar Edition gets, well, Dakar-inspired livery on its body, while actual bodywork remains the same as standard model.
Promo video featured Ross Branch, who finished Dakar 2024 in 2nd place. We can see Hero Xpulse 200 Dakar Edition bashing the dunes in full glory. Iconic Dakar logo on fuel tank lends it a unique look. Other elements from standard bike are present too, like the knuckle guards and tall windscreen.
Where powertrains are concerned, Xpulse 200 Dakar Edition continue to be powered by the same 199.6cc single-cylinder 4V/cyl oil-cooled engine that is capable of delivering 18.9 bhp of peak power and 17.35 Nm of peak torque, mated to a 5-speed gearbox. Until the Xpulse 210 is launched, Hero is upping excitement with current Xpulse 200 to boost sales.
