New Bajaj Motorcycle Launch This Week – Is It RS 160 or RS 200 ?

Bajaj Pulsar RS 160 teaser ?

Bajaj Auto has teased its much-anticipated RS motorcycle with a cryptic caption, “Congratulations Maniacs! We are nearly there! 0X-01-2025!” The teaser confirms that the motorcycle will launch this week, with the date likely falling between January 6th and 9th, as the format hints at a single-digit date. While Bajaj hasn’t explicitly revealed the model name, speculation is rife that it could be the Pulsar RS160, potentially sitting below the RS200 in the company’s lineup.

Is It the RS160 or RS200?

The teaser has sparked debate among enthusiasts about whether Bajaj will introduce a new RS160 or update the RS200. From the images shared, the slimmer rear tyre suggests this could be the RS160, designed to offer a more accessible entry point to Bajaj’s RS range. If confirmed, the RS160 would cater to a wider audience while maintaining the brand’s sporty DNA.

Bajaj Pulsar RS 160 teaser ?

The upcoming RS motorcycle retains much of the RS200’s front styling, including the projector headlight and LED DRLs. The fuel tank design and side profile also appear similar, but the rear section seems slightly updated. Notably, the signature dragon tail LED taillight may be absent, giving the new bike a distinctive rear-end look.

If this is indeed the Pulsar RS160, it will likely be powered by the tried-and-tested 164.82 cc engine from the Pulsar N160. This engine is known for its balance of performance and efficiency, delivering: 16 PS max power (11.7 kW) and 14.65 Nm max torque.

Shared Components from the Pulsar N160

The RS160 is expected to borrow several components from the Pulsar N160, ensuring reliability and cost-effectiveness. Key shared elements may include:

Suspension: Upside-down forks (37mm) at the front and a monoshock at the rear for a stable ride.

Braking System: Front and rear disc brakes with ABS for enhanced safety.

Tyres: A 130/80 front tyre and 130/70 rear tyre for optimum grip and handling.

Bajaj is likely to equip the RS160 with a modern digital console, similar to the N160. This console could include features like:

Bluetooth navigation for seamless route guidance.
Call and message alerts for connected riders.
Fuel economy indications to optimize riding efficiency.
Smartphone network range display for added convenience.

These specs position the RS160 as a capable contender in the 160cc segment, offering enough punch for city commutes and weekend rides. Upon launch, it will take on the mighty Yamaha R15.
