Triumph Speed T4 Gets Rs 18k Discount – 3 Months After Launch

Triumph Speed T4

Powertrain-wise, Triumph Speed T4 gets the same 398cc single-cylinder engine, which is down-tuned to make 30.6 bhp and 36 Nm

The Bajaj-Triumph duo recently expanded their 400cc lineup to incorporate a new affordable variant of Speed 400. Called Speed T4, this was the most affordable Triumph motorcycle and was priced at Rs 2.17 lakh (Ex-sh). To boost sales further, Speed T4 gets an even better price, thanks to attractive year-end discounts.

Speed T4 Year-End Discount

With the launch of Triumph Speed T4, the company aimed to carve out a more affordable version of 400cc platform. The price started from Rs 2.17 lakh (Ex-sh) and was very close to Royal Enfield Classic 350. The company is sweetening the deal further by offering attractive year-end offers on Speed T4.

These year-end discounts for Triumph Speed T4 started from December 14th and goes till the stocks last. Triumph is offering a discount of up to Rs 18,000 off the Ex-sh pricing, bringing the effective price to Rs 1.99 lakh (Ex-sh). This year-end discount of up to Rs 18,000 is quite attractive and is expected to nudge buyers.

Bajaj-Triumph duo seems to have been expecting around 10,000 units per month average collective sales. Something which is yet to materialise. The company is readying a more affordable version of Scrambler 400X to boost sales further. It could be named Scrambler T4 and is a stripped-down version of Scrambler 400X.

Notably, Triumph is also offering free accessories worth up to Rs 12,000 with Scrambler 400X. Currently, Triumph’s 400cc lineup is the best-selling 350cc to 500cc single-cylinder motorcycle range outside of Royal Enfield’s vastly popular 350cc and 450cc lineups. Customer reception to Triumph’s strategies to boost sales will be revealed in future sales breakdowns.

Speed T4 Vs Speed 400

Where design is concerned, Speed T4 looks more or less the same as Speed 400, sans a few premium equipment and colourways. Both motorcycles get the same LED headlights and the characteristic fuel tank and silhouette. Even the instrument cluster is the same between both motorcycles.

Differences lie in powertrain and componentry. Speed T4 gets a manual throttle control and the engine is tuned to develop 30.6 bhp of peak power and 36 Nm of peak torque. When compared to Speed 400’s 40 bhp and 37.5 Nm, there’s a massive difference. Speed T4 gets an ‘O’ ring final drive while Speed 400 gets ‘X’ ring.

Triumph Speed T4

Speed T4 gets a new exhaust system which is a lot bassier than that of Speed 400’s. Cycle parts like USD telescopic front forks are given a miss. Rear tyre is not radial type and is skinnier when compared to the one seen on Speed 400. The change in dimensions and wheelbase lends a unique character to Speed T4.
