Domestic sales of Bajaj Auto ended on a more positive note in Feb 2023 as compared to exports which fell by 40.52 percent YoY
Sales of Bajaj Auto In Feb 2023 saw mixed results. While numbers improved 24.39 percent in domestic markets, exports ended in the red, down 40.52 percent YoY. Total sales (domestic + exports) stood at 2,18,975 units in Feb 2023, down from 2,67,780 units sold in Feb 2022.
Bajaj Sales Breakup Feb 2023 – Pulsar Dominates
Domestic sales improved by 24.39 percent to 1,14,408 units in Feb 2023 from 91,977 units sold in Feb 2022 while exports slipped 40.52 percent from 1,75,803 units shipped in Feb 2022 to 1,04,567 units in the past month. When comparing MoM sales, Bajaj Auto sold 1,38,142 units in domestic markets in Jan 2023 while exports had stood at 92,889 units.
It was Bajaj Pulsar that topped sales charts in the country in Feb 2023. There were a total of 80,106 units sold last month, up 45.78 percent over 54,951 units sold in Feb 2022. This is related to a 25,155 unit volume growth while the Pulsar commands a 70.02 percent share.
Out of the Pulsar lineup, it was the Pulsar 125cc and 150cc that received the most attention with 48,728 units and 13,585 units sold respectively. This was a 62.39 percent YoY growth for the 125cc model from 30,006 units sold in Feb 2022 while sales of the Pulsar 150cc dipped by 23.70 percent when compared to 17,804 units sold in Feb 2022. 12,954 units of Pulsar 200cc were also sold last month relating to a 177.63 percent YoY growth along with 4,839 units of Pulsar 250cc.
Platina sales dipped 17.86 percent to 23,923 units while that of Bajaj CT fell by 8.85 percent to 4,544 units in Feb 2023. Bajaj CT saw its 110cc model claim higher sales at 2,819 units in Feb 2023 as compared to the CT 125cc of which 1,725 units were sold last month.
Chetak e-scooter sales surged by 137.30 percent YoY to 2,634 units in Feb 2023 from 1,110 units sold in Feb 2022. Increased demand in domestic markets were also noted for the Avenger and Dominar by 92 percent and 58.74 percent respectively. There had been 1,920 units of Avenger sold in Feb 2023 out of which 1,543 units were of the Avenger 200cc and 377 units of the Avenger 250cc. Dominar sales stood at 1,281 units in the past month from 807 units sold in Feb 2022.
Bajaj Boxer Commands Export List
Total exports in Feb 2023 stood at 1,04,567 units, a YoY de-growth of 40.52 percent from 1,75,803 units shipped in Feb 2022. Every model in the company lineup has posted a YoY de-growth except for the Avenger.
It was the Boxer that was most in demand in global markets with 61,408 units exported last month, down 44.22 percent from 1,10,084 units sold in Feb 2022. Boxer 110cc was most in demand with 47,592 units sold last month followed by Boxer 150cc of which 10,880 units were exported and 2,936 units of Boxer 125cc.
Pulsar sales dipped 33.34 percent to 17,427 units from 26,143 units exported in Feb 2022 while CT exports fell 20.62 percent to 13,894 units YoY. Bajaj Discover and Dominar also reported lower exports last month down 46.07 percent and 19.93 percent to 7,932 units and 3,009 units respectively while Platina exports fell by 79.23 percent to 729 units from 3,510 units sold in Feb 2022.
It was only the Bajaj Avenger that noted positive exports up 75 percent YoY to 168 units from 96 units shipped in Feb 2022. This was exclusively of the Avenger 250cc while there were 0 units of Avenger 200cc shipped last month.
