Jeep Teases More of the Grand Wagoneer, Including Its Glass Roof

  • Jeep has just released more teaser images of the forthcoming Grand Wagoneer that display a glass roof and a shiny interior air vent.
  • The Jeep Grand Wagoneer will be revealed alongside the Wrangler 4xe on September 3.
  • Recent production plans released by Jeep revealed that the Grand Wagoneer will go into production in the second quarter of next year.

Jeep is making sure that before it reveals the Grand Wagoneer, the only new vehicle on our minds is the Grand Wagoneer—and it’s doing just that with another set of teaser images. This time around, Jeep reveals the roof of the Grand Wagoneer as well as a chrome-covered air vent in the interior of the SUV.

The roof appears to be darkened glass that runs from the font of the car to the rear. Through it we can see a three-row layout with six seats; two captain’s chairs make up the second row. We can also see a two-tone exterior color, with the upper part of the SUV being black, while the lower half is white. Although it’s not wood paneling, the two-tone style is another nod to the Grand Wagoneer of the past. The second interior photo doesn’t reveal much beyond the air vent but does show that the shiny, chrome-themed color scheme will run beyond the infotainment knobs and the grille.

FCA

The Grand Wagoneer will be revealed on September 3, as will the plug-in-hybrid Jeep Wrangler 4xe. FCA revealed in its second-quarter results presentation in late July that the Grand Wagoneer will go into production in the second quarter of next year.

We know that the Grand Wagoneer will be offered in two versions, the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer, and will compete directly against the likes of the Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon. The new Jeeps ride on a body-on-frame structure that originates from the Ram 1500, and we expect them to offer two engine options, a V-6 and a V-8. We also expect the SUVs to eventually come with hybrid and plug-in-hybrid powertrain choices.
