- Cadillac has released a teaser image of the steering wheel for its performance-oriented 2022 CT5-V and CT4-V Blackwing vehicles.
- The leather-wrapped and carbon-fiber-trimmed wheel offers quick access to Cadillac’s V-Mode and Performance Track Management system.
- The Blackwing variants of the vehicles should appease those looking for track performance from a Cadillac.
We have a good idea what the Blackwing variants of the 2022 CT5-V and CT4-V will look like on the outside considering the regular versions are already on the road. So instead of Cadillac giving us a glimpse of what we’ve already seen, the automaker instead decided to show off the part of the vehicle you’ll be in constant contact with, the steering wheel.
The steering wheel of the upcoming 2022 CT5-V and CT4-V Blackwing is wrapped in leather with carbon-fiber trim. At top center is a red racing stripe that looks to be the same hue as the red V on the left side of the wheel. That’s Cadillac’s way of giving drivers quick access to its V-Mode system. On the right side of the wheel are controls for the automaker’s Performance Track Management system.
The V-Series Blackwing vehicles are Cadillac’s version of the BMW M and Mercedes-Benz AMG performance variants. The CT4-V Blackwing will have a twin-turbocharged V-6, while the CT5-V Blackwing will have a supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 with around 650 horsepower. Both will have an optional six-speed manual transmission. Now we also know what the steering wheel of that Cadillacs will look like when it hits showrooms.
