  • Martha Stewart took her manual-transmission Aston Martin DB9 out for a drive to deliver fresh eggs to a friend.
  • She said in an Instagram post that the car usually sits in the carport.
  • The DB9 was in production from 2003 until 2016 and was a hugely important car for Aston Martin.

Like many of us, it seems Martha Stewart is getting bored at home during the COVID-19 pandemic. But unlike many of us, Stewart has an interesting collection of vehicles for running errands—such as this Aston Martin DB9 with a manual transmission.

Stewart posted on Instagram that she used the 15-year-old DB9 with a “standard shift” to deliver fresh eggs to a friend, and tried her hand at car reviewing by describing the experience. While she’s not a fan of the audio system, she did compliment the sound of the 5.9-liter V-12 engine.

The DB9 was in production for 13 years, from 2003 until 2016. A gorgeous GT car with a design by Ian Callum, it brought Aston into the modern era with its aluminum-intensive platform that would go on to underpin many other Aston models for years to come. The final DB9s rolled off the line in 2016, but we’re glad to see that the car continues to please such esteemed owners as Martha Stewart even today.
