TVS had upgraded the moped to BS6 specifications in February at a starting price of Rs 43,044. While the engine is still the same 99.7cc unit, its BS6 variant delivers 4.4bhp, which is slightly higher. Torque output remains the same at 6.5Nm. The moped enjoys a monopoly of sorts as it does not have any direct competitor.

For instance, RTR 160 4V and RTR 200 4V are equipped with patented Oil-Cooled Combustion Chamber (O3C), which boosts performance by reducing heat. RTR 200 4V boasts of SmartXonnect smartphone connectivity and A-RT (anti-reverse torque) slipper clutch.

Jupiter had got the BS6 update in January and the new model was priced at Rs 61,449. Changes in BS6 Jupiter are largely limited to an engine update which involves replacing the carburettor with a fuel-injection system. Fuel efficiency has been improved by around 15%.
At number four is TVS Ntorq with sales of 22,804 units in February 2020. YoY sales have grown 39% compared to 16,370 units sold in February 2019. Ntorq is preferred for its sporty ride and a range of class-leading features. Next is TVS Radeon with 9,314 units in sales in February 2020. TVS scooters like Zest, Pep+ and Wego have turned out to be laggards, as YoY sales have dropped significantly. Same goes for TVS Victor motorcycle. Meanwhile, BS6 RR310 seems to be doing well as sales have improved by 27%.
