BMW F 450 GS Looks Ready For Launch – New Details Revealed

BMW F 450 GS Looks Ready For LaunchSimilar to the discontinued G 310 GS, all-new BMW F 450 GS will be manufactured in India and cater to both domestic and international markets
BMW F 450 GS has been spotted yet again and this time, with minimal camouflage. Everything appears production-ready, hinting at an imminent launch. The same platform will also be used for more 450cc bikes from TVS and Norton in the future. Let’s check out the details.
BMW F 450 GS – Styling and features
Overall look and feel seems quite familiar to the R 1300 GS, BMW’s flagship ADV bike. BMW F 450 GS has a striking road presence, with features such as an integrated front beak, USD forks in golden finish, a large windscreen, hand guards and sculpted fuel tank. As compared to the concept that had a high-mounted side exhaust, the near-production version uses a standard upswept exhaust.
    BMW F 450 GS
A robust bash plate can be seen, which is likely to be metallic. BMW F 450 GS will be capable of handling light to moderate off-road tracks. A metallic bash plate will provide better protection in comparison to units made from plastic or composite materials. Combining utility with style, the full-size bash plate enhances the bike’s rugged character as well.
BMW F 450 GS has a split seat design and comfortable riding stance. It’s made possible with the raised handlebar design and mid-set footpegs. The bike is using 19-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels. It is likely that the option of cross spoke wheels will be available, as was seen with the concept model.
    BMW F 450 GS
These will benefit riders who want to fully unlock the bike’s off-roading capabilities. BMW F 450 GS utilizes a steel bridge trellis frame, integrated with a bolt-on rear subframe. Both wheels have disc brakes and dual-channel ABS will be offered as standard.
    New engine, tech kit
BMW F 450 GS will be utilizing an entirely new 450 cc, parallel twin-cylinder engine. Power output is expected around 47 bhp, which will meet the requirements of A2 license category across Europe. As power to weight ratio of 0.27 bhp/kg is also predefined for A2 license category, the BMW F 450 GS could weigh close to 175 kg.
    BMW F 450 GS
Comparing performance with rival offerings, the KTM 390 Adventure utilizes a 398.63?cc, single-cylinder, liquid cooled engine. It generates 46 PS and 39 Nm of peak torque and is paired with a 6-speed gearbox. Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 is powered by a 452 cc, single cylinder, liquid cooled engine. It generates 40.02 PS and 40 Nm and is mated to a 6-speed transmission.
BMW F 450 GS will be getting an array of rider aids for effortless, hassle-free rides. Likely items include ride modes and switchable traction control and ABS. BMW could offer a quickshifter as an optional feature. Tech kit will include a full colour TFT display with support for Bluetooth connectivity. Users will be able to access calls, texts, music and turn-by-turn navigation. Display navigation will be quite convenient with BMW’s rotary controller installed on the handlebar.

Triumph Thruxton 400 Reach Showrooms Ahead Of 6th August Launch

    Triumph Thruxton 400 Reach Showrooms
India’s premium single-cylinder performance motorcycles have seen a major bump in demand and OEMs are lining up their offerings to cater it. Triumph already has three offerings in this place and is launching a 4th one on 6th August 2025. Ahead of official launch, units have started to arrive at dealerships. Let’s take a closer look.
    Triumph Thruxton 400 Reach Showrooms
With a strategic partnership with Bajaj Auto, Triumph Motorcycles is keen on launching their 4th product based on the popular Speed 400. After Speed 400, Scrambler 400X and Speed T4, Triumph Bajaj duo is launching the Thruxton 400 in India on 6th August 2025, and might be slotted as the most expensive product in the 400cc lineup.
Ahead of 6th August launch, units have started to arrive at dealerships and give us a good look at what to expect from this motorcycle. As seen in these recent spy shots from dealerships, it is vastly based on the Speed 400, but has subtle changes in small things and one big change in the form of its overall styling.
    Triumph Thruxton 400 Reach Showrooms
Thruxton 400 is a Cafe Racer style motorcycle and it gets a semi fairing at the front that extends till the bottom of its fuel tank. This new fairing adds a muscular stance to this motorcycle and lends a handsome appeal. There’s a longer fuel tank and a circular LED headlight setup with integrated LED DRLs along with a new LED tail light.
    What to expect?
Handlebar is of clip-on type that commands the rider to lean in. When leaned in, Thruxton 400’s stylish windscreen might prove beneficial too. Other notable elements include bar-end mirrors, a split seat setup with an optional body-coloured rear seat cowl. Most other components look more or less the same as Speed 400, which is not a bad thing.
Componentry is on the premium side with USD telescopic front forks, rear mono-shock, front and rear disc brake setup with dual channel ABS, 17-inch alloy wheels with what looks like similar sized tyres as Speed 400 and the same semi-digital instrument cluster with an analogue tachometer which many still love.
    Triumph Thruxton 400 Reach Showrooms
Powertrain setup is likely to be carried over from Speed 400 unchanged. However, Triumph might introduce a new tune with Thruxton 400 to establish a unique character to suit its Cafe Racer styling. In Speed 400, this 398.15cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled DOHC 4V/cyl engine generates 39.5 bhp of peak power and 37.5 Nm of peak torque, mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

Hero Mavrick 440 Discontinued? Or Will There Be An Updated Version?

Hero Mavrick 440Hero MotoCorp, one of India’s largest 2W manufacturers, is known for its budget commuter motorcycles more than its premium motorcycles. Even the company’s scooters have a better sales proposition than Hero’s premium motorcycles. So, the company is revising its premium motorcycle lineup to establish a streamlined portfolio.
In that regard, Hero MotoCorp recently de-listed or discontinued the base variant of Karizma XMR 210 and now, a similar approach seems to have been taken towards the Mavrick 440. Only, the entire Mavrick 440 motorcycle seems to be discontinued, rather than some variants. Let’s take a closer look.
    Hero Mavrick 440
    Hero Mavrick 440 Discontinued?
One look at Hero MotoCorp’s official website and you can still see Mavrick 440 listed along with all of its variants. Speaking of, Mavrick 440 was sold in three variants conveniently named Base, Mid and Top. Prices range between Rs 1,99,500 for Base, Rs 2,14,500 for Mid and Rs 2,24,500 for Top (all prices Ex-sh).
However, Hero MotoCorp seems to have discontinued its flagship product, the Mavrick 440. This was Hero’s first proper big displacement motorcycle and was based on the same platform as Harley-Davidson X440. But at an affordable price point with Roadster design and less premium components.
    Hero Mavrick 440
While the Ex-sh prices were already attractive, Hero Mavrick 440 garnered attractive discounts on E-Commerce platforms like Flipkart, sweetening the deal further. However, the bike’s overtly simplistic design seems to have worked against it and it didn’t find many takers. Sales were often in double digits, single digits and even 0 from the past three months.
    Will it make a comeback?
There are three ways as to how the company might tackle the Mavrick 440’s future. One is to discontinue it completely and make way for boosting sales of Harley-Davidson X440. Second is to bring it back with updated components, which were showcased at 2024 EICMA Show. These include USD telescopic front forks and a TFT colour instrument cluster among others.
    Hero Mavrick 440 Scrambler
Also, there’s a probability of Hero bringing it back in a Scrambler avatar. Design and names of which have already been trademarked in India (Mavrick 440 Scrambler). Either way, Hero Mavrick 440 will remain one of the most underrated motorcycles of India, as we found out during time with it. More
