    Bet you haven’t seen one of these in ages.It’s a wedge-shaped Corolla coupe with pop-up headlights.This unusually well-preserved Toyota has low mileage and boasts a five-speed manual for a bit more zip.If you’ve ever wondered, the Toyota Corolla takes its name from the Latin for “little crown,” as might be worn by some minor nobility during the Renaissance. It’s a bit of a hifalutin’ moniker for what’s basically the pleated khaki pants of cars, but sometimes a Corolla can be more special than you might expect. Take this 1989 Toyota Corolla SR5 in svelte two-door form, complete with sleek bodywork, gold paint, and pop-up headlights. It’s majestic. And it’s up for sale on Bring a Trailer (which, like Car and Driver, is part of Hearst Autos).Bring a TrailerThe sixth-generation Corolla debuted in 1987, declaring war on the popular Honda Civic with all models now front-wheel drive (plus the capable little all-wheel-drive All-Trac wagon). The vast majority of them were dependable if boring sedans, but Toyota did leave the door open for a little excitement. Toyota fans could still get the revvy GT-S model, with its Yamaha-designed cylinder head and zippy handling, and if you just wanted a bit more style to go with your reliable and thrifty commuter, then was a Sport Coupe with a less frenetic four-cylinder.This example is an SR5 trim, denoting a 1.6-liter DOHC four-cylinder with fuel injection, good for around 113 horsepower when new. A five-speed manual transmission stands ready to make the most of that power, and with only 48,000 miles on the odometer, few ponies will have escaped the stable.Bring a TrailerYou could consider this model as Toyota’s version of the Honda Prelude, from a time when almost every manufacturer built coupes with relatively conventional underpinnings, designed to be sporty-looking yet affordable. This Corolla is not some steely-eyed midnight street racer’s drift machine, but a nicely equipped compact car with air conditioning, a cassette tape deck, and 13-inch alloy wheels. Even considering the low mileage, it presents as extremely well preserved. You can just imagine someone wearing enough hairspray to ward off hurricane-force winds driving this car home from work on a Friday, planning to stop off to pick up a VHS tape of Single White Female on the way.Bring a TrailerLike most golden-age Toyotas, you can probably expect this car to be running and driving until the heat death of the universe, assuming you keep up with the oil changes. It’s not likely to ask much of you, and its stripped-down, late-1980s driving experience will be totally unlike any modern car. It’s perfect for the “I haven’t seen one of those in years!” reaction at your local car show, and maybe you could even make a few bucks on the side if there’s a film company making a movie set during the Clinton administration.There are certainly fancier and faster Toyotas out there, but this little coupe has hung around long enough to become something pretty special.     TVS Sales Feb 2025 Registered YoY Growth – iQube, Apache, Jupiter

    TVS ApacheOne of India’s leading 2W and 3W manufacturers, TVS Motor, closed the sales account of the month February 2025 with grace. The company has been making solid progress with steady YoY and MoM growth over the total sales performance in February 2024 and January 2025 with popular products like iQube, Jupiter and Apache. Let’s take a closer look.
    TVS Sales Feb 2025
    In February 2025, TVS sold a total of 3,91,889 units of 2W vehicles and 12,087 units of 3W vehicles. Both of which witnessed YoY and MoM growth. Breaking down the numbers further, TVS sold 1,92,960 units of motorcycles last month accounting for 49.24% of total 2W sales. Motorcycles saw 4.86% YoY growth and 10.65% MoM growth with 8,937 units and 18,572 units gained in volume.
    Scooter sales, on the other hand, stood at 1,64,415 units accounting for 41.95% of total 2W sales. When compared to 1,32,152 units sold in February 2024 and 1,71,111 units sold in January 2025, TVS Scooters witnessed 24.41% YoY growth, gaining 32,263 units in volume and 3.91% MoM decline, losing 6,696 units in volume.

    The company’s iQube electric scooter business stood at 24,017 units with 33.73% YoY growth, gaining 6,058 units in volume and 4.68% MoM decline, losing 1,178 units in volume. The XL100 mopeds sold 34,514 units and fell into the red completely as it registered 17.10% YoY and 18.16% MoM sales decline.
    Domestic 2W sales stood at 2,76,072 units, which registered a 3.2% YoY growth as opposed to 2,67,502 units sold in February 2024. There was a 6.05% MoM decline as opposed to 2,93,860 units sold in January 2025. TVS’ domestic 2W sales accounted for 70.45% and exports was 29.55%.

    Speaking of exports, the company’s total 2W exports stood at 1,15,817 units with 28.25% YoY and 23.46% MoM growth respectively. In total, TVS’ 2W sales stood at 3,91,889 units with 9.52% YoY growth and 1.09% MoM growth.

    Where 3W sales are concerned, TVS sold 2,911 units in domestic market and shipped 9,176 units to export markets. Domestic 3W sales only accounted for 24.08%, while 3W exports accounted for 75.92% of total 3W sales from TVS. In total, TVS sold 12,087 3W vehicles last month with 13.88% YoY and 21.45% MoM growth, gaining 1,473 units in volume YoY and 2,135 units in volume MoM.
    TVS’s total domestic sales (2W + 3W) stood at 2,78,983 at 69.06% share and total exports (2W + 3W) was 1,24,993 units at 30.94% share. In total, TVS pushed out 4,03,976 units in February 2025. When compared to 3,68,424 units from last year and 3,97,623 units from a month before, TVS registered 9.65% YoY and 1.60% MoM growth. Volume gain stood at 35,552 units YoY and 6,353 units MoM. More

    Royal Enfield Feb 2025 Sales At 80k – Registers 19% YoY Growth

    Royal Enfield Classic 350– Domestic sales up by 18.96% YoY, exports grow by 23.19%– Strong performance in the above 350cc segment with 32.86% growth– Financial Year-to-Date (FYTD) sales up by 8.56% YoY
    Royal Enfield recorded total sales of 90,670 units in February 2025, reflecting a 19.40% year-on-year (YoY) growth compared to 75,935 units sold in February 2024. The growth was driven by a strong demand for its motorcycles in both domestic and export markets.

    Royal Enfield’s domestic sales stood at 80,799 units, registering an 18.96% YoY growth from 67,922 units in February 2024. Exports also saw a strong surge of 23.19%, reaching 9,871 units, up from 8,013 units last year.

    In the engine-wise breakdown, motorcycles below 350cc grew by 17.43%, selling 77,775 units, compared to 66,229 units in February 2024. Meanwhile, the above 350cc segment witnessed a remarkable 32.86% growth, with sales increasing to 12,895 units from 9,706 units last year.

    Compared to January 2025, Royal Enfield’s total sales dipped marginally by 0.51%, as sales declined from 91,132 units to 90,670 units in February.

    Below 350cc segment: Recorded a 1.32% decline, with sales dropping from 78,815 units in January to 77,775 units in February.
    Above 350cc segment: Continued its positive momentum, growing by 4.69%, with 12,895 units sold compared to 12,317 units in January.
    Domestic sales: Dropped slightly by 0.31%, from 81,052 units in January 2025.
    Exports: Fell by 2.07%, from 10,080 units in the previous month.
    Financial Year-to-Date (FY25 vs. FY24) Performance
    For the April 2024 – February 2025 period, Royal Enfield has sold 9,08,879 units, reflecting an 8.56% YoY growth over 8,37,181 units in the corresponding period of the previous financial year.

    The Silverado EV comes equipped with a battery pack as large as 205.0 kilowatt-hours, which helped it become one of the first EVs we’ve tested to go 400 miles in our 75-mph range test. The base Work Truck lacks comfort features, but its huge battery and lightning-fast charging speeds are mighty impressive. It starts at $57,095, but that’s with the smallest battery; prices climb to $69,495 and $77,7995 with the Extended Range and Max Range packs, respectively. Meanwhile, the mid-level LT Extended Range starts at $75,195, and the top-spec RST starts at either $89,395 or $97,895, depending on if you choose the Extended or Max battery.     Here’s the EPA’s List of Plug-In Hybrids Eligible for the Federal Tax Credit

    The Chrysler Pacifica Plug-In Hybrid is only offered with front-wheel drive. Its PHEV powertrain musters 260 horsepower from a gas-fed 3.6-liter V-6 and two electric motors, which are fed by a 16.0-kWh lithium-ion battery pack that allows the van to travel 33 miles on electrons alone. In typical minivan fashion, the Pacifica is full of practicality. The interior has seating for seven, it’s packed with cupholders and slide-out bins, and while the battery gets in the way of the folding rear seats, Chrysler added extra padding as a consolation. Pricing for the hybrid model starts at $52,750, and it’s the only PHEV on the list that’s eligible for the full $7500 tax credit. More

    Jeep Leans Further Into Off-Roading with Tent and Trailer Patents

    Jeep is leaning in to its off-roading roots with a new pair of patents it filed with the United States Patent and Trademark Office earlier this year.The first patent is for a rooftop tent designed to attach directly to the top of the Jeep Wrangler. The second patent focuses on a Jeep-specific off-road-capable trailer that uses the same suspension as the Jeep pulling it. Stellantis has filed two new patents for the Jeep brand, both of which focus strongly on the brand’s off-roading personality. The first patent relates to a rooftop tent designed specifically for the Jeep Wrangler, while the second patent pertains to an off-road-capable trailer that uses production Jeep parts. USPTOWhile most third-party rooftop tents require additional hardware such as additional roof racks, the tent shown in Jeep’s new patent features a more elegant solution: Rather than bolting to the top of the roof, the tent replaces the Wrangler’s removable roof panels and reuses their mounting points. The slick design keeps the tent from adding excessive height and means campers can access the tent directly from the car without having to get out and clamber onto the roof. The compact design should also keep the tent from harming fuel economy too much as well. When it’s fully deployed, the tent features an optional awning to provide more cover from the weather outside the car. There’s also additional floor space that can be cantilevered over the edge of the car, extending the tent’s footprint.USPTOJeep’s second patent appears to be more focused on the Gladiator pickup, though the documents allow for other Jeep models. The patent focuses on an “Off-Road Capable Trailer” that includes components carried over directly from the production vehicle. USPTOPatent publication documents on the USPTO website explain that the trailer could include suspension and body components that correspond to a production Jeep. The patent documents also show that at least in some instances, the trailer would use the same axle and the same tires found on the production truck. Under the “Background” section, Jeep references how trailers typically have lower ground clearance and are designed for paved or smooth road surfaces. How soon would we potentially see these products?     Next-Gen 2026 Nissan Sentra Spied with Murano-Inspired Styling

    Nissan appears to be readying a next-generation Sentra compact sedan for the 2026 model year.The Sentra prototype appears to adopt some of the styling cues found on the recently updated 2025 Murano SUV.With the Altima and Versa expected to depart Nissan’s lineup after the 2025 model year, the Sentra will be the brand’s sole remaining sedan.Sedans were once the dominant force in the American auto market, but their numbers are dwindling. Nissan killed off full-size Maxima following the 2023 model year, and a report in 2023 suggested that Nissan would ditch the subcompact Versa and mid-size Altima after 2025. That would leave the compact Sentra, which had strong sales in 2024, as the brand’s only sedan. While the Altima and Versa may still be living on borrowed time, it appears Nissan isn’t entirely done with sedans, with our spy photographer catching a four-door prototype testing at Nissan’s Michigan headquarters.KGP Photography|Car and DriverThe camouflaged sedan was spotted driving with an Altima, suggesting that it could be a replacement for the mid-size sedan. Yet the prototype looks a bit smaller than we would expect for a mid-size offering and the Sentra—which entered its current generation for the 2020 model year—is due for an overhaul in 2026. Although this prototype looks a bit bigger than the outgoing Sentra, it’s possible that the Sentra could grow slightly in size in an attempt to cover both the compact and mid-size segments after the demise of the Altima.Regardless of the Altima’s fate, we’re pretty certain this is the next-generation Sentra, and the compact sedan appears to be adopting the new design language introduced by the 2025 Murano SUV. The narrow headlights are positioned with a slight angle, creating a sleek, piercing look, and feature a blade-like piece at the outer edge that cuts downward toward the bumper. This echoes the styling seen on the Nissan N7, an electric sedan revealed last fall for the China market.KGP Photography|Car and DriverThe headlights are joined by a black trim piece bisected by the Nissan badge. This element looks like it might feature an illuminated section along the lower edge and is certainly reminiscent of the black band stretching across the Murano’s front end. Beneath the Nissan emblem sits a thin grille with angled strakes and a wider intake in the lower bumper with a matching look. The side profile reveals a sloping roofline while the rear features horizontally oriented taillights linked by a trim piece above the license plate housing.There’s no official word on what will power the Nissan Sentra, but it’s possible the 149-horsepower 2.0-liter four-cylinder and continuously variable automatic transmission could carry over. A hybrid variant could be in the cards, and there are rumors of a sportier variant featuring the 201-hp turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder found in the Rogue. Called Xpulse 210 Rally, this motorcycle gets more hardcore off-road capable hardware. Ahead of the official launch a Rally-spec version of it from Hero Factory Racing Team has just debuted at Sjoba Rally event in Chandigarh.

    If you’re wondering what would be better than an Xpulse 210 at the price point it is launched, the answer would be Xpulse 210 Rally. There is not a single motorcycle in India, or probably the world, at a price point of Rs 1.76 lakh (Ex-sh) to offer an ADV package as comprehensive as Xpulse 210. And a more hardcore version of it, is a tempting proposition.

    Hero calls it Xpulse 210 Rally and is yet to officially launch it. Ahead of a launch, Hero Factory Racing Team has just unveiled a Rally-spec version of this motorcycle at 38th Edition of three-day Sjoba Rally event in Chandigarh. It has to be noted that this Hero Xpulse is not the production-spec model, but showcases the full potential of this platform.
    In that regard, these Xpulse 210 Factory Rally bike has quite a few components that will not feature on production version. Primary of these special components include the fully adjustable (compression and rebound) USD telescopic front forks with fork covers to protect inner tube and a new exhaust end can which is positioned higher than stock bike.

    Also, disc brakes at both ends are now much more premium and they look fancy. Visually, these Rally-spec motorcycles get beefier knuckle guards and a new headlight cluster and a windscreen. Standard headlight has been replaced with a smaller unit with LED projectors in them. Instrument cluster on these units seem to be removed as well.
    What to expect?
    While these components are not likely to make it to production-spec Xpulse 210 Rally variant, others will. These include handlebar risers, knobby Maxxis tyres, Rally seat, long travel fully adjustable suspension, but RSU telescopic forks at the front, among others.

    Where powertrains are concerned, Hero Xpulse 210 Rally will be powered by the same 210cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled DOHC 4V/cyl engine capable of generating around 25 PS of peak power and 20.7 Nm, mated to a slipper clutch and a 6-speed gearbox. It will be launched in India soon and it will command a slight price premium over standard model.
