Suzuki e-Access Could Launch Next Month Rivaling Activa e, Ola, Chetak, iQube

Suzuki e-AccessIndian mainstream 2W manufacturers and Indian 2W startups have shown great enthusiasm towards electric scooter segment. However, the Japanese 2W manufacturers like Suzuki are now emerging into the scene. With e-Access, Suzuki aims to crash this party and launch might be sooner than you think. Let’s take a closer look at a probable launch timeline.
    Suzuki e-Access Launch Timeline
At the 2025 Auto Expo, Suzuki Motorcycle India showcased its first ever electric vehicle in the form of e-Access. This premium electric scooter was showcased beside 2025 Access (125 dropped from its name). While Suzuki launched 2025 Access, the launch of e-Access was reserved for later.
    Suzuki e-Access
That later seems to be fast approaching as the company is speculated to launch e-Access in September 2025. It will lock horns with other premium family-format electric scooters like Bajaj Chetak, TVS iQube, Hero Vida VX2, Ather Rizta and of course, the Activa e from Honda. Access’ Activa rivalry will be ported over to electric scooter segment as well.
Where design is concerned, e-Access looks like an extension of Access’ overall design and appearance. e-Access is a tad sharper in design and it gets LED headlight setup in handlebar cowl, a neatly laid out front apron, sleek side panels, a long and practical seat, stylish rear tail lights, smart-looking alloy wheels, a flat footwell and a sizeable under-seat storage.
    Suzuki e-Access
    What to expect?
Powering the Suzuki e-Access electric scooter is a 3.07 kWh LFP battery pack that sends juice to a 4.1 kW electric motor mounted on its swingarm. Claimed range from this scooter is 95 km and claimed top speed is 71 km/h. Claimed charging time is 4h and 30m to go from 0% SOC to 80% SOC.
Coming from Suzuki, one might expect great fit and finish, overall polish, reliability, sensible functionality and everyday practicality. Suzuki will also lay emphasis on fast charging with fast charging stations to be installed in as many as 30 major EV hotspots in the country.
    Suzuki e-Access
There will be a TFT instrument cluster With a holistic approach, Suzuki is set to enter one of the most contested segments in India’s 2W segment. Pricing is under the wraps and will be revealed at launch, which is likely to happen next month in September 2025. More

    2026 Kawasaki Ninja 650, Versys 650, Vulcan S Unveiled – Details

2026 Kawasaki Ninja 650, Versys 650, Vulcan SKawasaki is on the verge of updating its entire portfolio to their respective MY26 versions. Team Green’s middle-weight lineup is no different. The company is updating Ninja 650, Versys 650 and Vulcan S to MY26 versions with a few features added here and there along with a new set of shades to their palette. Let’s take a closer look.
    2026 Kawasaki Ninja 650
    2026 Kawasaki Ninja 650
Ninja 650 is among the most popular middle-weight sports tourer motorcycles on sale in the world. Updating this motorcycle to keep it fresh is an important task and Kawasaki is at it. With 2026 Kawasaki Ninja 650, the company is offering two colours in the palette. One is Lime Green, which is a more traditional Kawasaki shade.
    2026 Kawasaki Ninja 650
The second new colour has a rather long name. Called Metallic Matte White Tissue Silver X Metallic Flat Spark Black, this new colourway is slightly unusual in Kawasaki’s otherwise traditional palette. The other update introduced with 2026 Ninja 650 is navigation and voice command features mated to 4.3-inch colour LCD instrument cluster.
    2026 Kawasaki Versys 650
    2026 Kawasaki Versys 650
Kawasaki’s middle-weight adventure tourer, the Versys 650, is one of the most popular ADVs on sale in the world and India. As per the April 2025 update, Kawasaki Versys 650 was offered in a sole Metallic Matte Graphenesteel Gray colourway, which will be replaced with a new colourway with MY26 version.
    2026 Kawasaki Versys 650
Called Metallic Deep Blue X Metallic Spark Black, this new colourway is also very non-traditional in Kawasaki’s usual palette. Other than the new colourway, 2026 Versys 650 is also equipped with navigation and voice command features mated to its 4.3-inch colour LCD instrument cluster accessed via Kawa’s Rideology app.
    2026 Kawasaki Vulcan S
    2026 Kawasaki Vulcan S
Just like Kawasaki’s middle-weight adventure tourer and middle-weight sports cruiser, the company’s middle-weight cruiser is also set for a MY26 update. Unlike the 2026 Versys 650 and 2026 Ninja 650, 2026 Vulcan S does not come equipped with a colour LCD instrument cluster to offer navigation and voice commands.
    2026 Kawasaki Vulcan S
With 2026 model, Kawasaki is introducing a new colour. When compared to the Metallic Matte Graphite Gray X Metallic Matte Carbon Gray colourway seen with MY25 version, the new Metallic Graphite Gray X Metallic Spark Black looks like an inverted version of it.
New 4.3-inch LCD Cluster with Navigation and Voice Command
All three vehicles are powered by the same 649cc parallel twin cylinder DOHC 4V/cyl engine which gets liquid cooling setup. Kawasaki India has not yet confirmed the launch of these new models in our market as of now. More

Top 10 Motorcycles July 2025 – Splendor, Shine, Pulsar, Apache, Classic 350

Honda ShineMotorcycle sales ended positively in July 2025 reporting a 7.68% YoY growth, though MoM sales fell sharply
Motorcycle sales in India closed July 2025 on a positive note when compared to the same month last year, but the industry continued to struggle on a sequential basis. Total sales of the top 10 motorcycles stood at 7,24,629 units last month, reflecting a healthy 7.68% YoY growth over 6,72,947 units sold in July 2024. However, when compared with the previous month, sales fell sharply by over 1.15 lakh units. In June 2025, top 10 motorcycle sales were recorded at 8,39,918 units, while in May 2025, volumes had touched 8,85,467 units. This makes July the third consecutive month of MoM decline, highlighting a period of correction for the two-wheeler market.
    Top 10 Motorcycle Sales – July 2025
The Hero Splendor continued its long-standing dominance in the Indian motorcycle market. It led the charts with 2,46,715 units sold, an 11.73% YoY growth from 2,20,820 units in July 2024. The Splendor alone accounted for over 34% share of total volumes in this list, reinforcing its position as the go-to commuter motorcycle in India.
    Top 10 Motorcycles July 2025
Following in second place was the Honda Shine, which reported sales of 1,59,658 units. This marked a slight 2.29% YoY decline compared to 1,63,402 units sold last year. Interestingly, July also saw a leaked patent image of the Shine Electric, hinting at Honda’s upcoming entry into the electric commuter space. When launched, the Shine-based EV is expected to rival the Ola Roadster X, Oben Rorr EZ, and Revolt RV.
The Bajaj Pulsar series experienced a steep drop in demand. Sales dipped 16.67% YoY to 79,817 units compared to 95,789 units in July 2024. Despite multiple updates and a wide model range, the Pulsar appears to be facing pressure from newer offerings in its segment. Hero’s HF Deluxe, however, posted an impressive 53.30% YoY growth, climbing to 71,477 units from 46,627 units. Next-gen Skoda Octavia Electric Teased – Debut Next Month

Next-gen Skoda Octavia ElectricExpected to go on sale by 2029, electric Octavia will share its platform with the VW ID.Golf
At the upcoming Munich IAA show in September, Skoda will be showcasing multiple new products and concepts. One of these will be the Vision O wagon concept that previews the next-gen electric Octavia. A new teaser has revealed some interesting details about the interiors. Let’s take a look.
Next-gen electric Octavia – What to expect?
Revealing a seamlessly connected windscreen and a panoramic roof, the teaser essentially highlights the roomy interiors of the concept. A minimalist theme is evident and the vehicle is likely built with focus on practical applications. While not clear, it appears that the concept has a large digital screen mounted in the centre.
    Next-gen Skoda Octavia Electric
Another aspect Skoda has highlighted in the teaser is the focus on using sustainable materials. This can be seen with the airy 3D-printed headrests. Skoda says that these headrests are made from compostable, plant-based materials. This is in line with the brand’s focus on environmental conservation and reducing the carbon footprint of its cars.
In an earlier image, Skoda had teased the exterior outline of the concept. It reveals that the next-gen electric Octavia will be completely different in terms of its design and styling. Some of the key features include a swept back windshield, a gently sloping roofline, a heavily raked rear windshield and sporty tail lamps.
    Next-gen Skoda Octavia Electric
One can also notice sharp LED DRLs, ORVMs with turn signals and a roof-mounted spoiler. Overall profile is built around superior aerodynamics, which enhances visual appeal and can potentially improve the vehicle’s range as well. According to Skoda, this concept essentially provides a glimpse of the carmaker’s new Modern Solid design language. It will be used for its next-gen cars including electric cars. Vision O concept seems familiar to the Audi A6 Avant e-tron. However, the LED signature at the front and rear leaves no doubt about its Skoda origins.
    Next-gen Skoda Octavia Electric
    Platform shared with VW ID.Golf
Skoda electric Octavia will be using the SSP platform, which will also be seen with the VW ID.Golf. The latter is also planned to go on sale by 2029. The SSP platform is smaller, as compared to VW’s PPE platform seen with the A6 e-tron.
Although both VW ID.Golf and next-gen Octavia electric will share the same platform, the new Octavia will have a longer wheelbase. This can unlock more spacious interiors and potentially a larger boot space as well. The SSP platform utilizes an 800-volt charging architecture, enabling faster charging times and improved efficiency.
Skoda’s next-gen cars like electric Octavia will power the brand’s future growth story. Skoda has already tasted success in the EV segment with cars like Elroq and Enyaq electric SUVs. Skoda is also working on the Epiq subcompact electric SUV, expected to be unveiled in 2025. Epiq could be introduced in India as well. Skoda Auto Volkswagen has big plans for the Indian market, as part of their India 3.0 strategy. Multiple new electric cars are planned to be launched. More
