    Testing and development of new KTM RC 390 is still underway in Europe. This vehicle will be the sportiest offering based on KTM’s new 390 platform and will replace current model that is positioned on KTM’s older platform. This test mule looks almost production and looks like the company might launch it sometime in 2025.

    Even though KTM is under an economical turmoil, the Austrian brand seems to be pushing on its originally planned products. The new RC 390 has been long overdue and will rival Yamaha R3, BMW G 310 RR, TVS Apache RR 310 and upcoming Triumph Thruxton 400 and Royal Enfield’s faired bike based on Guerrilla 450.

    As seen in recent spy shots, KTM is going back to its design roots and is associating with 1st ever RC 390. Attempts to make RC 390 look more conventional seems to have backfired and the company now seems to be resorting to its original design. We can see this in these new spy shots, where the alien-like look is back.

    Exposed mono projector unit looks a lot more aesthetic than twin projectors. There is a clear windscreen above it that should decent protection to riders from wind blast. Fairing looks aerodynamic with massive cuts and creases for air to channel through. ORVMs are positioned on the fairing and ORVM stalks look quite premium.

    New KTM RC 390 bears a lot of design semblances with upcoming 990 RC R. Except for the winglets, though. Rider triangle looks committed as it has rear-set foot pegs and low-set clip-on handlebars. This gives a lot of leverage to rider’s to grip the motorcycle and exploit all the cornering capability this platform and components provide.

    Speaking of components, there are many revisions. For starters, we now get an underbelly exhaust, compacting the overall package. Front disc brake is now shifted towards the right. Along with ensuring OBD2B compliance, Honda has also introduced new features for its scooters and motorcycles. 2025 Honda Activa gets the same treatment and is updated for MY25. Models also updated include Honda Dio, CB650R, CBR650R and Livo.
    2025 Honda Activa Launched – What’s new?
    One of the most important updates is OBD2B compliance for the 109.51cc, single-cylinder PGM-Fi engine. This ensures that Activa is ready to meet the mandates prescribed under the upcoming stricter emission regulations. OBD2B is the next stage of OBD Stage II (BS VI) emission norms. Multiple sensors are part of the On-Board Diagnostic (OBD) systems, which measure emissions in real-time and alert the rider in case of any irregularities.

    2025 Honda Activa’s updated engine generates 8 PS and 9.05 Nm of torque. Users can expect improved fuel efficiency, as the engine is equipped with an Idling engine stop system. This setup is designed to stop fuel wastage at brief stops such as at traffic signals. The engine turns off automatically at such brief halts. Users can start the engine again just by turning the throttle grip. If all vehicles are equipped with an idling stop system and everyone uses it, fossil fuel usage can be brought down significantly.
    New features
    2025 Honda Activa gets a new 4.2-inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity. When paired with Honda RoadSync app, users can access a wide range of connectivity features such as calls, text alerts and navigation. Another useful update is the addition of Type-C USB charging port.

    2025 Activa is available in three variants – STD, DLX and H-Smart. Now, even the DLX variant gets alloy wheels. Visually, the 2025 Honda Activa is largely the same as the outgoing model. While the Standard variant has a halogen headlamp, the DLX and H-Smart variants have LED units.
    Colour options available with 2025 Honda Activa include Pearl Precious White, Decent Blue Metallic, Pearl Igneous Black, Mat Axis Gray Metallic, Rebel Red Metallic and Pearl Siren Blue. Excluding the OBD2B-compliant engine, other hardware specifications remain the same as earlier.  Honda Activa utilizes an Under Bone frame, with telescopic front forks and a unit swing 3-step adjustable rear suspension.

    Front and rear wheels are 12-inch and 10-inch, respectively, wrapped in 90/90 and 90/100 tubeless tyres. These tubeless units are made from specialized compounds that reduce rolling resistance. Braking setup comprises drum brakes at both ends. Activa has ground clearance of 162 mm and a fuel tank of 5.3-litre capacity.

    Top 10 Two Wheelers Dec 2024 – Splendor, Activa, Jupiter, Pulsar, Classic 350

    Honda ActivaAt the end of CY24, the two wheeler market saw some setbacks in terms of sales. This is usually because of the fact that buyers tend to wait for new year to kick in, but there was a rather noticeable drop in sales YoY in the top 10 two wheelers Dec 2024 sales chart as well. Suggesting that the these stalwarts might be losing market share to rivals not featured on this list.
    Top 10 Two Wheelers Dec 2024
    Any mention or report regarding a 2W has to start with Hero Splendor. This phenomenon has been India’s best-selling 2W vehicle for a long time. With 1,92,438 units sold, Splendor accounted for 25.63% of the total sales of this chart and it registered 15.50% YoY decline and 34.51% MoM decline.
    Splendor’s volume loss stood at 35,310 units YoY and 1,01,390 units MoM, when compared to the 2,27,748 units sold in Dec 2023 and 2,93,828 units sold in Nov 2024. In 2nd place, we have Honda Activa with a total of 1,20,981 units sold last month. When compared to 1,44,335 units sold last year and 2,06,844 units sold a month before, Activa saw a 16.68% YoY and 41.51% MoM decline, losing 23,354 units YoY and 85,863 units MoM in volume.
    Top 10 Two Wheelers Dec 2024 – YoY
    Honda Shine took 3rd place and accounted for 13.43% of sales within this list. At 1,00,841 units sold, Shine was the first vehicle to register a YoY growth of 18.44%, but MoM sales went down by 30.71%. At 88,668 units, we have TVS Jupiter that also registered a YoY growth of 48.93%. Just like Shine, Jupiter’s MoM sales went down by 11.07%.
    At 5th place, we have Bajaj Pulsars with 65,571 units sold. When compared to 1,06,734 units sold in Dec 2023 and 1,14,467 units sold in Nov 2024, Pulsar saw a 38.57% YoY and 42.72% MoM decline. Suzuki’s Access 125 makes the top 10 two wheelers Dec 2025 chart at 6th place with 51,180 units sold and 3.19% YoY and 3.58% MoM declines. The company just launched the new Access 125 at Auto Expo 2025.
    RE Classic 350 Only 2W to have positive YoY and MoM growth
    Hero MotoCorp’s 2nd entrant in this segment is HF Deluxe with 41,713 units sold. Just like the Splendor’s pattern, HF Deluxe lost volume at 19,343 units YoY and 74,708 units MoM. TVS’ evergreen XL100 took 8th place on this chart with 33,092 units sold. There was a 13.58% YoY and 27.94% MoM decline, accounting for a loss in volume at 5,198 units YoY and 12,831 units MoM.

    At 9th place, we have Royal Enfield Classic 350 with 29,637 units sold and was the only 2W on this list to register YoY growth in both YoY (39.57%) and MoM (7.72%) growth. Lastly, we have Bajaj Platina in 10th place with 25,584 units sold and registered 2.22% YoY and 42.61% MoM decline. Several colors will also feature a contrasting black roof. The SUV measures 3,825mm in length, 1,610mm in width, and 1,575mm in height, with a 2,580mm wheelbase.     New Royal Enfield Scram 440The Royal Enfield Scram 440 has officially been launched in India, marking the brand’s entry into the competitive ADV crossover motorcycle segment. Available in two variants—Trail and Force—the Scram 440 replaces the Scram 411 in Royal Enfield’s portfolio and promises enhanced performance, a more powerful engine, and a host of adventure-ready features.
    Design and Pricing
    In terms of design, the Scram 440 retains much of its styling cues from the Scram 411 while incorporating key upgrades. Built on the same chassis, the Scram 440 sees slight increases in dimensions and weight. The Trail variant is offered in Blue and Green color options, while the Force variant adds a Teal shade to its lineup.

    2025 Honda CB300R Patented? Or Is This A New RE Hunter 350 Rival?

Going by Honda’s past patenting exercises, one would think that this is just a global vehicle and that the company is protecting its IP here in India. However, this looks like an affordable motorcycle that the company might launch in India.

    One look at this patent design, anyone would dismiss it as a CB300R with a slightly updated design to make it more neo-retro than it already is. This could be true as well. However, there seems to be more about this patent design than what meets the eye. On closer inspection, one can see that it has an air-cooled engine.
    For context, Honda CB300R has a liquid-cooled engine, which doesn’t have fins on the engine block for air-cooling. That said, liquid-cooled engines on Jawa and Yezdi motorcycles get these fins just for aesthetic purposes, which is great attention to detail. We can expect Honda to do something similar with 2025 CB300R.

    If this is true, we might be looking at the new CB300R with an updated design it desperately needs. It gets a new LED headlight, almost identical to the one seen on global 2025 CB300R. There’s a new fuel tank with less clutter and simpler tank shrouds. There’s a beefier belly pan and more muscular body panels on rear subframe.
    Turn indicators are now circular and so are the instrument cluster and ORVMs. The main change can be seen at the rear where we get a new design with a tail tidy. Wheels and tyres look the same and the brakes seem to be carried over too. Exhaust end-can looks the same as current CB300R, with a new heat shield. USD front forks and rear mono-shock are carried over as well.
    Is this a Neo-Retro Hornet 2.0?
    There’s a good probability that Honda might be carving a new version of Hornet 2.0 that takes a neo-retro roadster design. Yamaha has used this formula and has created FZ-X, based on FZ street bike. If this is true, we can see the same 184.4cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine that generates 17.3 bhp and 15.9 Nm, mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
    New Honda Roadster Patented
    Given the higher performance ceiling, this new Honda Roadster motorcycle will rival the likes of TVS Ronin and Royal Enfield Hunter 350. Honda could achieve an excellent power-to-weight ratio, similar to CB300F and CB300R. For context, RE Hunter 350 delivers 20.2 bhp and 27 Nm but weighs up to 181 kg.
