AutoComplete looks at upcoming electric SUVs video – Roadshow

Howdy everyone Emmy Hall here with your latest edition of autocomplete.
We talked recently about electric pickup trucks coming to the market.
But what about battery powered SUVs?
What will be the next big thing in family haulers and we’ll Will America set aside its range anxiety and commit to full on electric over hybrids?
That’s the topic of today’s AutoComplete.
Now let’s start with the big boy the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E.
Yes, it bears the Mustang badge, which may be hearsay for some enthusiasts but road shows very own Chris Packard got the chance to ride in one in the snow and hot damn if that thing doesn’t drift like a boss.
Granted, that’s pretty easy to do in the snow.
But the mock he seems particularly good at getting slidy and it seems like it will have some.
Serious performance chops behind it as well.
Electric motors on standard all wheel drive cars produce 332 horsepower and 417 pound feet of torque.
Depending on battery size drivers will get 300 miles of range which should be plenty to get the kids to soccer practice.
And take a ride on a back road just for fun.
Prices start at $45000 and can go to over $60000 for the even harder GT which has 459 horsepower and hits 60 miles per hour in the mid threes.
Meanwhile, the Tesla Model y is set to begin deliveries.
Now if reports are correct, while the larger Model X is based off the Model S platform, the model Y takes its cues from the smaller model three sedan.
Long Range Y can go up to 315 miles on a single charge and while we haven’t driven it, yet, I’d expect this crossover to be pretty fun to drive.
Thanks to all that sweet sweet instant electric torque, prices should start at around $39,000 and go up to 60,000 for the performance model, and for those of you who want to get off road the bohlander b1 SUV might just be Be Your ticket.
This thing looks like an old school Land Rover Defender and has all of those dirt goodies to match.
Like a low range front and rear locking differentials.
15 inches of ground clearance and 10 inches of wheel travel.
And because going off road is always better in the open air.
The doors and the roof of the b1 are removable.
Delivery should begin in 2021 with a starting price of $125,000 yahooza.
However, it just might be the rivia n one RS that has my heart at least if the specs are to be believed max power 750 versus Next torque 829 pound feet range 400 miles, plus plenty of towing capability available in early 2021.
It promises to start less than Tesla’s Model X and feature three rows of seating.
Plus it’s got electric motors at each wheel and you know what that means.
Tank turns all this starting at about $70,000 despite all the hype abs are largely niche products in the US well outside of Tesla’s that is, so the question is Will consumers adopt these future electric SUVs?
Ford says at the first edition Mustang Maki is sold out and notice that it’s accepted reservations from all 50 states.
Tesla hasn’t released model Y numbers.
But a report from electric says that the company could deliver 1000 model Ys by the end of this month.
I’d expect the blenders price and nice performance capabilities will keep it on the fringes.
And while rivia n has not confirmed any pre order numbers for the R1S, I think it’s positioned to do very well indeed.
That’s it for this episode of roadshows autocomplete I’ve been me Hall and hey, you’ve been patient.
So I’d ask that you not only hit the subscribe and notification buttons if you did what we’re doing but chime in in the comments and let us know what you want us to cover next.
