2022 Ather Electric Scooter Launch On 19th July – New Gen 450X

The new Ather 450X will continue to rival premium electric scooters like Ola S1 Pro, Simple One and TVS iQubeNew Ather Electric Scooter Launch Date 19th JulyA lot of action has taken place in the electric two-wheeler segment in India which saw the introduction of many new players in recent months. With more new models slated to make an entry in the near future, it becomes imperative for existing players to stay relevant in this ultra-competitive environment.Ather Energy is one of the market leaders in the electric two-wheeler space in India today. It was recently reported that the Bengaluru-based EV startup is developing a facelift for its best-selling model 450X. A type approval document filed by Ather Energy was leaked a few days ago.New Ather Electric Scooter Launch DateOn their official Twitter, Ather Energy revealed the launch date of the new 450X. Ather has announced that the new Gen 3 450X electric scooter will be launched on 19th July. The way they have made the announcement, it is likely that the current version of 450X will be discontinued.Further, the new 450X is likely to be priced about Rs 6k more than the current model in ex-sh prices. The biggest update in the upcoming iteration of Ather 450X is a larger 3.66kW Lithium-ion battery pack in place of the existing 2.6kWh unit. The updated 450X will be available in two settings.New Ather Electric Scooter Launch Date 19th JulyIn the first setting, 450X gets five riding modes including Warp Mode, Sport Mode, Ride Mode, Eco Mode and the new Smart Eco Mode. The second setting, which seems to be a variant with some reduced battery capacity, gets four riding modes with no Warp mode on offer. In all probability, the second setting will be locked and only available to owners at some special requests. The larger battery pack will result in an increase in peak power output as well as a single-charge range. Peak power output for the new Ather 450X will be rated at 6.4kW whereas nominal power output will measure 3.1kW for the most aggressive Warp mode. Peak and nominal power outputs will vary according to the ride mode the user chooses. As far as range is concerned, the larger battery pack has resulted in a maximum range of 146km on a single charge for setting 1. For setting 2, the range strangely drops to 108km for a single charge. Both these figures are ARAI-rated and real-world range will expectedly differ from these figures.Updates in EquipmentAther will also make some tweaks to the e-scooter’s equipment as well. Currently, Ather 450X is loaded with features like full-LED lighting, a 4.2-inch touchscreen instrument cluster, Bluetooth connectivity, integrated 4G LTE SIM connectivity, Over the air (OTA) updates, onboard navigation, digital document storage, music & call controls, reverse mode, etc. However, sources tell Rushlane that features like OTA updates, navigation, User Interface (UI) improvements, smartphone integration to instrument console and on-road access to customer support which were offered free until now, will be offered as subscription services. From 1 January 2023, a user has to pay Rs 2,400 annually to avail the services mentioned above. All customers who are currently awaiting delivery of Ather 450X electric scooter, have the option to update their booking to the upcoming new gen 450X electric scooter. More

1993 Bajaj Chetak Scooter Restored To Full Glory – Old Vs Modified

At the time of its launch, Bajaj Chetak was one of the most powerful petrol scooters in IndiaOld Bajaj Chetak Scooter ModifiedThe current generation of millennials would resonate with an electric scooter when they hear the name Bajaj Chetak. But there is a large section of auto fanatics as well as mass consumers who would go back in time to the original petrol sipping Chetak. The two-stroke engine-powered scooter was no less than a revolution in India.First launched in the country way back in 1972, Chetak remained in production till 2005. Its design was originally based on Vespa Sprint but was later replaced by an all-new in-house design that shared a similar general appearance and style. During the peak of its popularity, this scooter had a waiting period that stretched to almost ten years.Restored Chetak 12 Volt ElectronicA 1993-produced model of Chetak has been restored by a person from Kerala. The restoration process has been discussed in detail in a video uploaded by MUNDODI VLOGS on YouTube. The video features a 12 Volt Electronic variant of the OG Chetak which was powered by a 145.45cc, two-stroke, single-cylinder engine that produced 7.5 bhp at 5500rpm and a peak torque of 10.8 Nm at 3500rpm.Prior to its restoration, the Chetak in discussion was in poor condition as rust had crept into most components of the scooter. For starters, the scooter rolls on 10-inch steel wheels shod with a 100/90 profile of tyres. The wheel rims, wheel hubs and front spring have been chrome plated that lends the scooter a retro charm.[embedded content][embedded content]Further, chrome-plated protective guard rails have been added to the front mudguard as well as the rear side panels. More chrome usage can be seen in the form of custom linings on the front fender and a stainless steel plate attached to the horn grille. Further, the rubber mats on the floorboard have been replaced by aluminium plating with proper drain holes to avoid rusting. An aftermarket side chrome-plated side stand has been added to the scooter which further accentuates its vintage appearance on it. The spare wheel which is normally found at the rear has been moved to the front glove area in order to provide a clean and sleek look to the tail section. As we can see, the engine is mounted on the right side of the scooter and the removable body panel comes with an aftermarket chrome plate for ventilation. It comes with a traditional split seat setup with a spring-loaded front seat for the rider. To add a fresh appeal, the scooter has been given a paint job and is now wrapped in a deep blue shade.Old Bajaj Chetak Scooter – Old vs ModifiedRestored EngineRestoration of the engine has also been done since rust had crept into the powertrain as well. Major components like the cylinder and piston head have been changed. Further, the engine cover has been plated with stainless steel and the entire engine has been powder coated with Zinc to avoid rusting. Also, a new carburettor has been added for a better air-fuel mixture. More

Apart from being the smallest, Hunter 350 is also likely to be Royal Enfield’s most affordable motorcycle on offer today2022 Royal Enfield Hunter 350 Specs LeakRoyal Enfield Hunter 350 has been in the news for so long that even Covid-19 memories seem like yesterday. Okay, not exactly. But you get the point. Royal Enfield has taken their sweet sweet time and now, finally, we can confidently say that Hunter 350 is a confirmed name and Royal Enfield will launch it soon.We have seen multiple spy shots of Royal Enfield Hunter 350 test mules for a couple of years now. We have also seen Hunter 350 accessories too of which some are expected to be standard fitment on the top-spec variant of Hunter 350. These add-ons might be a part of variants or Royal Enfield might also offer them as accessories. These add-ons were a fly screen, pillion backrest, fork gators and a pannier too.Royal Enfield Hunter 350 Specs LeakRecently, going by type approval certificate filed with NCT Delhi Transport Department, Hunter 350 is confirmed as the official name of Royal Enfield’s upcoming cruiser. It is based on Royal Enfield’s popular Meteor 350 platform which is dubbed as J-series platform.According to the document, we can clearly see that Royal Enfield has gone with a smaller vehicle in size and it looks like it too. It measures 2,055 mm in length, 800 mm in width, 1,055 mm in height and has a 1,370 mm wheelbase. When compared to Meteor 350, Hunter 350 cruiser motorcycle is 85 mm smaller in length, 45 mm narrower, 85 mm shorter and has a 30 mm smaller wheelbase too.2022 Royal Enfield Hunter 350 Specs LeakDesign-wise, Royal Enfield Hunter 350 seems to be heavily inspired by Triumph Street Twin which is not a bad thing if you ask us. The smaller than usual (with Royal Enfield standards) size comes together to form a handsome-looking modern retro motorcycle that exudes a ton of classic charm.Hunter 350 vs Classic vs Meteor – Specs & FeaturesRoyal Enfield Hunter 350 specs vs Meteor vs ClassicHunter 350 will get the same J-series 349.34 cc engine as Meteor 350 and make 20 bhp according to the type approval certificate. Wheel sizes aren’t known yet, but we can say for sure that it will get alloy wheels that are identical in design to Meteor 350 alloy wheels. It will also get disc brakes at both ends, but due to the lower price point, Royal Enfield might only offer single-channel ABS. Tripper navigation might not make it on Hunter 350 as a standard. It may be offered as an option. The round instrument cluster might be part digital and part analog like we have seen from Royal Enfield before.New Royal Enfield 350cc Hunter. Image – Smart VikerSuspension components are identical to the ones found on Meteor 350. Due to the smaller overall size, we expect it to get around 12 litres of fuel tank capacity instead of Meteor 350’s 15 litres. Looking at the dimensions, we predict that Hunter 350 might weigh around 160-170 kg.In terms of pricing, Hunter 350 is likely to be priced around Rs. 1.5 to 1.7 lakh (ex-sh). At this price point, it competes with newly launched TVS Ronin, Yamaha FZ25, Bajaj Dominar 250 and the likes. Royal Enfield will launch Hunter 350 on 7th August 2022. If Royal Enfield gets the pricing and product placement spot on, they have another winner at their hands. More
