Bajaj New Products Incoming In 125cc-160cc Segments – Details

Bajaj Pulsar NS125 – Image for reference onlyIn the 125cc – 200cc segment, Bajaj currently ranks second, powered by its popular Pulsar motorcycles
In its Q4 FY25 financial results, Bajaj Auto reported revenue of Rs 12,148 crore in January-March 2025. Profit earned is at Rs 2,049 crore, with the margin at 20.2%. Bajaj Auto has also outlined its future goals and strategies, which strongly revolve around the sporty 125cc segment and sporty 150cc to 160cc segments. Let’s take a look.
Focus on 125cc-plus and 150cc-160cc-plus segments
Bajaj has always kept a strong focus on the 125cc motorcycle segment, as this contributes more than 40% to the company’s overall sales. Most of it is contributed by the Pulsar N125, NS125 and Pulsar 125. Another big chunk, around 22%, comes from 150cc and 160cc-plus bikes. Offerings in this space include Pulsar 150, N150, N160, NS160, Pulsar NS200 and RS200.
Talking about the company’s growth strategy in these crucial segments, Rakesh Sharma, Executive Director at Bajaj Auto, provided some useful insights. It is expected that the 125cc-plus motorcycle segment will grow in the range of 8% to 12% in FY26. This segment has historically shown a higher growth rate in comparison to the overall industry growth rate. Bajaj will be looking to increase its market share in this space.
In the 125cc-plus segment, Bajaj currently trails the market leader (Honda) by around 5-6 percentage points. However, Bajaj has a huge lead of up to 50% over the brands ranked third and fourth. Sharma mentioned that the 125cc-plus segment has been witnessing strong growth after Covid period and regulatory updates.
    Bajaj Sales Breakup April 2025
In FY21, Bajaj Auto’s market share in the 125cc-plus segment was around 20%. By FY24, Bajaj noted an increase in market share at around 25.5%. Due to some headwinds, market share came down to 24% in FY25. However, growth projections for 125cc segment are quite strong.
Bajaj new product launches in FY26
Bajaj takes even small dips seriously and is looking to boost its market share in the 125cc-plus motorcycle segment. It will come via introduction of new products in the Pulsar portfolio. Bajaj also has plans to launch a new entry-level 125cc motorcycle. However, exact details of these new product launches have not been revealed. The company is confident that it will be able to reduce the sales gap with the market leader in the 125cc-plus segment in FY26.
    Plans for KTM, Chetak
Bajaj has also talked about its strategies for KTM and EV business. Starting with KTM, the two main goals are to reduce debt and acquire majority control. The latter seems a bit more complex, since it will require regulatory approvals in India and overseas as well. Only when these clearances are obtained, Bajaj will be able to start work on KTM’s turnaround.
2025 KTM RC 200 Updated – Metallic Grey Colourway
In the electric 2-wheeler segment, Chetak has registered major gains, with market share growing from 13% in Q4 FY24 to 25% in Q4 FY25. Chetak emerged as the top electric two-wheeler brand in the country in Q4 FY25. In April 2025, Chetak contributed 10.69% to overall sales, making it the 3rd bestselling Bajaj two-wheeler brand.
Bajaj has introduced new Chetak variants at regular intervals, the most recent being the Chetak 3503. More new variants are planned to strengthen Bajaj Auto’s EV portfolio. The company is also working to increase Chetak experience centres and sales outlets across the country.

KTM 390 Duke and Triumph 400 Bikes Get 10-Year Warranty – Details

KTM 390 Duke and Triumph 400 Bikes Get 10-Year WarrantyWith multiple 2-wheeler brands offering longer warranties, this strategy appears to be crucial for enhancing customer satisfaction and peace of mind
Sub-500cc KTM and Triumph bikes are mostly available with the combo of 2-year standard warranty and 3-year extended warranty. As part of a special scheme, select KTM and Triumph bikes are now getting warranty coverage of 10 years. Eligible bikes include the KTM 390 Duke and Triumph Speed 400, Scrambler 400 X and Speed T4. This longer warranty scheme is valid till 30th June 2025. Let’s check out the details.
KTM 390 Duke gets 10-year warranty
An extended 10-year warranty is now available with the KTM 390 Duke. As mentioned earlier, this special warranty offer is valid till 30th June. The icing on the cake is that this extended warranty for 390 Duke is being offered at no extra cost. Moreover, the 10-year warranty on KTM 390 Duke will be transferable.
    KTM 390 Duke
In case the bike is sold, subsequent owners can continue to enjoy the benefits of the extended warranty. However, users must fulfil all the terms and conditions of the warranty. With a transferable 10-year warranty at no extra cost, KTM 390 Duke appears to have gained an edge over its rivals.
For context, Aprilia recently increased the warranty on Tuono 457 to 4 year / 48,000 km. This is still less than 390 Duke’s 10-year warranty. Moreover, 390 Duke is available at a more accessible price point in comparison to the Tuono 457. A longer 10-year warranty has multiple benefits for users.
    KTM 390 Duke
For example, expenses related to unexpected repairs can be avoided. Users can be assured of availability of replacement parts. With the warranty being transferrable, the 390 Duke can now command a higher resale value. Finding buyers will also become easier. An extended warranty also reflects the brand’s confidence in the quality of its products.
    Triumph 400cc motorcycles – 5-year standard + 5-year extended warranty
Extended warranty of 10 years for Triumph 400cc bikes is available till 30th June 2025. Bikes eligible for this special offer include the TR Series bikes like Speed 400, Scrambler 400 X and Speed T4. All three bikes share the same platform, featuring a perimeter frame with a bolt-on subframe.
    2025 Triumph Scrambler 400X
43 mm USD forks at front and a gas-charged monoshock rear suspension is common. The only difference is that Scrambler 400 X has longer travel in comparison to Speed 400 and Speed T4. Braking setup comprises 300 mm front and 230 mm rear disc brakes, with dual-channel ABS. Scrambler 400 X has switchable rear ABS for off-road use. While Speed 400 and Speed T4 have 17-inch wheels at both ends, the Scrambler 400 X utilises 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel combo.
All three bikes use the 398.15cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC engine. For a sporty ride experience, the engine on the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X is tuned to deliver 40 PS and 37.5 Nm. The Speed T4, focused on a relaxed riding experience, is tuned to deliver 31 PS and 36 Nm. It is the most affordable in Triumph TR series, starting at Rs 1.99 lakh.

Aprilia Extends Warranty For Free On RS 457 and Tuono 457 – After Engine Reliability Cases

Aprilia RS 457In addition to extending the warranty to 4 years/48,000 km for RS 457 and Tuono 457, Aprilia has also removed the restrictive first owner clause
As part of its strategy to utilize India’s manufacturing capabilities, Aprilia had launched the RS 457 in 2023. It was followed by the launch of Tuono 457 in February 2025. Both these bikes are manufactured at Piaggio’s facility in Baramati, Maharashtra, catering to domestic as well as export markets. Aprilia has now introduced some user-friendly updates to its warranty policy. Let’s check out the details.
Aprilia RS 457, Tuono 457 – Extended warranty
Earlier, both the RS 457 and Tuono 457 were offered with a 3 years / 36,000 km warranty. This has now been extended to 4 years / 48,000 km. This change in the warranty terms have been noticed via circulars issued to dealers. Aprilia is yet to make an official announcement regarding the same. The extended warranty gives greater confidence to users and ensures longer protection against unexpected repairs and maintenance costs.
Another welcome change that Aprilia has made in its warranty policy for RS 457 and Tuono 457 is the removal of the first owner clause. As per this clause, the warranty on RS 457 and Tuono 457 was applicable only for the first registered owner. This was not appreciated by users, as it could create challenges in selling the bike.
    Aprilia Tuono 457
Likely based on market feedback, Aprilia has now removed the first owner clause from the warranty of RS 457 and Tuono 457. The warranty for these two bikes is now transferable. As long as the terms and conditions of the warranty are met, subsequent owners can continue to avail the benefits of the warranty.
Warranty updates to boost consumer confidence
Aprilia’s decision to introduce user-centric updates to the warranty policy could be linked to the engine issue noticed earlier with some units of RS 457. Users had reported issues such as the engine losing compression or problem with the cam chain tensioner. Some users had experienced power losses, whereas there were a few reports of engine failures as well.
Responding to such claims, Aprilia had issued a statement in May 2025. The company investigated every single of the reported cases and found that most of the issues were linked to unauthorized aftermarket modifications and irregular service schedules. However, the company also found a few genuine cases, which were resolved in a prompt manner.
    Aprilia 457cc Engine
To avoid such issues, Aprilia has recommended that users choose genuine aftermarket accessories available at authorized Aprilia service centres. Also, any repairs or maintenance should be done only by certified technicians at authorized Aprilia dealerships. Aprilia said that the 457 platform is born of advanced engineering and has received widespread acclaim from various entities including elite MotoGP racers. Aprilia stated that it had effectively addressed the issues related to the reliability of the 457 platform.
Some of the affected customers had shared their experience on social media. As part of the solution, the cylinder head assembly of some bikes was replaced. In a few other cases, the entire engine was replaced under warranty. However, these customers claimed that they did not get a proper explanation about the exact issue. It remains to be seen if the problem has truly been resolved. More
