Komaki Electric Scooters, Motorcycle Online Booking Platform Launched

Komaki Electric MotorcycleWith social distancing as the new norm, every automaker in India is embarking on the digital route
The obvious hesitancy of buyers to venture into showrooms has caused some concern for automakers in the country. The new social distancing norms, the scare of venturing out, fear of contracting the COVID-19 virus in closed spaces and new government restrictions have make leading automakers pursue the digital mode of increasing sales.
Auto makers such as Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Honda, Kia, Toyota, Tata Motors, Mahindra and Mercedes Benz were quick to follow the digital route amid the earlier lockdown announced by the Government of India. These automakers partnered with leading online portals such as Google and Facebook bringing global digital expertise to their dealer networks. Along with carmakers, two wheeler makers are also following a similar path.
    Komaki Online Bookings Platform
Komaki Electric Vehicle has introduced a new online booking portal komaki.in/book-now, whereon customers can make their bookings of the company range of electric scooters from the comforts of their homes. Following the booking, the customer will then be directed to the company’s nearest dealership for the remainder of the process. Here the customers can purchase their vehicle, make online payments and will be offered after sales service.

    Komaki Electric Scooter
Noting heavy demand for these e-bikes in the country, the online portal makes it easier for customers who wish to avail these environmentally friendly and cost effective scooters. The Delhi based two wheeler make also plans to launch models with batteries that can offer a range of upto 220 km.
The new batteries will be manufactured in-house with cells imported from Korea. The batteries will be light weight and will be capable of fast charging. All batteries will come in with 3 year warranty to include 2 years coverage and free service in 3rd year.
Talking of the three electric vehicles recently launched, the Komaki SE is presented in Solid Blue, Metallic Gold, Jet Black and Garnet Red. It receives a full digital color instrument cluster and disc brakes.

New Benelli Electric Motorcycle To Be Based On QJ7000D – Gets Helmet Storage Space

New QJ7000D could be sold as Benelli’s first electric motorcycleSeveral of Zhejiang Qianjiang’s motorcycles will be launched globally under Benelli nameplate
Part of China-based Zhejiang Qianjiang, Italian manufacturer Benelli could soon foray into the electric motorcycle segment. The shift to electric is inevitable and the sooner it’s done, the better it will be for a company’s long-term prospects.
Now that QJ7000D electric motorcycle has been showcased at 2021 Beijing Motor Show, there are speculations that this product could be introduced in global markets under Benelli. Images are credit to QQMTC.
It is to note that QJ7000D electric motorcycle has been developed by a new company named Qianjiang Electric Vehicle. Just like Zhejiang Qianjiang, this new company is also part of Geely Group. It will function as a part of Zhejiang Qianjiang. The new company is expected to focus primarily on developing electric vehicles.
QJ7000D electric motorcycle design and features
Just like other motorcycles manufactured by Qianjiang, this too looks flamboyant and extravagant. The bike has a beefy profile towards the front, while the rear section is much sleeker. The bike’s fairing has a dual-tone colour theme of blue and grey, which creates an exciting contrast with the blacked-out components.
New QJ7000D could be sold as Benelli’s first electric motorcycle
The bike has an aggressive front fascia with a sleek quad-light setup, uniquely shaped rear view mirrors and V-shaped windscreen. One of the innovations on this bike is that the space underneath the fuel tank can be used to store a helmet. Other key features include USD front forks, single disc brake, and central rear shock absorber. The bike is expected to be offered with dual-channel ABS as standard.
New QJ7000D could be sold as Benelli’s first electric motorcycle
QJ7000D electric motorcycle has been equipped with chain transmission and gearbox. It has a fully digital LCD instrument panel that displays a range of information such as speed, gear position, battery percentage, distance travelled, time, etc. The instrument console is likely to offer Bluetooth connectivity. This can be used to access various features when connected with the user’s smartphone.
The bike has a split seat design and is expected to offer a comfortable riding position. Another key feature is rear tyre hugger that holds the sleek turn signals and number plate.
New QJ7000D could be sold as Benelli’s first electric motorcycle
    QJ7000D electric motorcycle powertrain
Details about the motor and battery have not been revealed. However, it can be estimated that the motorcycle could match the performance of a 600cc petrol-powered sports bike.
It remains to be seen when QJ7000D electric motorcycle could be introduced globally under Benelli. Not sure if it will be launched in India. Even if it does, it is not happening anytime soon. More

2021 Kawasaki Ninja H2R BS6 Launched In India At Rs 79.90 Lakh

2021 Kawasaki Ninja H2R BS6Kawasaki Ninja H2R has no direct rival in the Indian market and has been strictly built for track usage
Kawasaki has announced the prices for the 2021 Ninja H2R in India. The track focussed motorcycle has been tagged at a whopping price of Rs. 79.90 lakh (ex-showroom) which is Rs 4 lakh dearer than the outgoing model. Since it has been built exclusively for track enthusiasts, Ninja H2R gets no headlights, turn indicators, rearview mirrors or a pillion seat.
    Aerodynamic Design
Over the same styling of its predecessor has been carried forward. This includes notable design highlights such as aerodynamic winglets, sharp front fairing, rider-only saddle and a single-sided swingarm. The aerodynamic blades are positioned in a place that is otherwise occupied by wing mirrors.
The single-sided swingarm allows the exhaust muffler to be mounted closer to the bike centreline instead of adopting an underbelly design. The sports bike wears the same Mirror Coated Matte Spark Black paint just as the previous iteration of the motorcycle. Being a track-only bike, it is offered with an extremely committed riding posture hence features supporting pads on the saddle as back support to the rider during acceleration.
    Dynamics ALA-MotoGP
For a litre-class motorcycle, it tips the weighing scales at a mere 216kg making it extremely nimble with a fuel tank capacity of 17 litres. The new Ninja H2R rolls on 17-inch alloy wheels on both ends which are wrapped around by 120/600 front and 190/650 rear sections of rubber. The steel Trellis frame underpinning H2R has suspended on 43mm upside-down forks at front and an Ohlins TTX36 gas-charged mono-shock at rear- both fully adjustable, which perform suspension duties.
    2021 Kawasaki Ninja H2R BS6
The motorcycle also benefits from an additional Ohlins electronic steering damper. Braking hardware comprises dual 330mm disc brakes at front chewed by four-piston Brembo M50 Monobloc calipers and a single 250mm rotor with two-piston Brembo caliper at rear. The sophisticated track-friendly dynamics are aided by a very powerful motor underneath.
    Lightning Performance
The motorcycle retains the same 998cc, inline four-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that pumps out 306 bhp at 14,000rpm and a peak torque of 165 Nm at 12,500rpm. The provision of a ram air intake pushes the peak power output to 322 bhp.
This engine is coupled with a six-speed gearbox which benefits from a slipper and an assist clutch along with a bi-directional quick-shifter for super aggressive shifts. The engine required unleaded petrol with an octane rating of RON95 or higher.
Performance is further aided by a plethora of ride-aided electronics controlled by a six-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) sourced from Bosch. The IMU setup consists of cornering ABS, a multi-level Traction control system, slide control, launch control, wheelie control, and engine brake control. Additionally, the IMU gets a bank angle display and a recording function for maximum bank angle on the instrument cluster. More

Royal Enfield New Motorcycle Launches Will Be Highest This Year – CEO

Royal Enfield 650 Sultan By Neev MotorcyclesAlthough Covid-19 has led to disruptions of operations at many levels, Royal Enfield is still confident to launch multiple new models in FY2022
Despite the advent of many brands in the middleweight classic roadster segment in India, Royal Enfield remains the undisputed leader in this space. This has not only got to do with its massive consumer base across the country but also its sizeable production capacity, retail and service network and reliable supply chain management.
However, the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic has disrupted operations at every level. Despite the ongoing crisis of the pandemic, Royal Enfield is confident of making FY2021-22 an eventful fiscal year with numerous new model launches. In an interaction with Moneycontrol, Royal Enfield CEO, Vinod Dasari, shed some light on the company’s upcoming launches.
    Production Affected due to Covid-19
Despite the disruptions, Dasari announced that the company has planned some very big launches for the current financial year. He further added that even if the company does not receive any new bookings, it has enough backlog orders to clear which will keep the assembly line moving for at least the next 2-3 months.
Due to the outbreak of the second wave of novel coronavirus, production has been halved although full-scale production is expected to resume in the coming few days. Late last year, the Chennai-based bikemaker announced that henceforth it will be launching as many four models (new and upgraded) every year which meant one new launch every quarter.
Royal Enfield registers new name – SCRAM
Despite all constraints, the company intends to stick to this claim, however, Dasari admitted that the launch timeline of the products might be deferred by about a month. In Dasari’s own words, “This year will probably see the highest number of new models that are ever seen from Royal Enfield in a year”.
    Future RE models
Since November last year, Royal Enfield has launched one brand new model in the form of Meteor 350 and updated three others including Himalayan, Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650. The brand’s next big-ticket launch is expected to be the new-gen Classic 350 which will be based on the J architecture as Meteor. Along with this, the company has planned a couple of 650cc models including a cruiser and a classic roadster.
The manufacturer is also reportedly developing a new scrambler based on the same 650cc parallel-twin chassis. The company recently filed a trademark for the same called ‘Scram’.
Another crucial new model slated to launch in the coming few months is the new roadster which goes by the name ‘Hunter’ and is expected to take on Honda CB350 H’Ness. According to Dasari, all these models are ready to be launched as they have already been in development for 3-5 years.

Image – Satyam GuptaBarring a few, all motorcycles have registered positive YoY growth in April
A total of 4,31,311 units were exported in April 2021, as compared to 45,880 units in April last year. YoY export growth is 840.09%. This higher than normal growth is linked to the countrywide lockdown that was imposed in March-April period last year. Another reason is that several global markets were also severely impacted by the pandemic last year. In 2021, the situation is not so acute in international markets.
In terms of volumes, Bajaj leads with four of its bikes in top ten list. TVS has two bikes occupying the second and fourth spot with Star City and Apache, respectively. Others bikes in top ten include two from Honda and one each from Hero MotoCorp and Yamaha.
Boxer ahead by a huge margin
Bajaj Boxer continues to dominate with exports of 1,20,460 units in April. YoY export growth is 673.57%, as compared to 15,572 units exported in April last year. Boxer share in exports is 27.93%. In international markets like Africa, Boxer is preferred for its rugged performance and low-cost maintenance.
At number two is TVS Star City with exports of 59,148 units in April. YoY growth is 757.84%, as compared to 6,895 units exported in April last year. Share in exports is at 13.71%. Star City is sold in several markets in Africa, Latin America and Asia Pacific.
    Two Wheeler Exports April 2021
Pulsar is third with exports of 42,537 units in April. YoY growth is 715.51%, as compared to 5,216 units exported in April last year. Share in exports is at 9.86%. Pulsar is popular in the Indian market as well. To provide more options to customers, Bajaj is expected to launch multiple 250cc Pulsar motorcycles. The range could include a naked, semi-faired and fully-faired version of 250cc Pulsar.
