    Hero MotoCorp Sales June 2021 – Splendor, Passion, Xpulse, Maestro

    Hero MotoCorp, the world’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer by volume, has released their sales report for June 21, in comparison to that of June 20 and Year-to-Date sales for FY22 as against that of FY21. On both counts, the company has seen very encouraging growth despite the ongoing pandemic situation in the country. The company has also tackled the shortage of parts and movement of logistics efficiently to gain customer confidence.
    Hero MotoCorp YoY Sales Growth
    A detailed breakup of motorcycle and scooter sales, both in terms of domestic sales and exports have been considerable YoY growth. However, this is not an equitable comparison as in the last year, the fear of the pandemic and its rapid increase across all states was witnessed.
    In June 2021, motorcycle sales stood at 4,41,536 units, up 5.6 percent from 4,18,141 units retailed in June 20. Best sellers include Splendor, HF Deluxe, Passion in the entry segment. While Xtreme and Xpulse range also posted decent sales. Scooter sales dipped marginally and were at 27,624 units in the past month, as against 33,842 units sold in June 20. Hero scooter range includes Destini, Maestro, Pleasure.
    This took total sales to 4,69,160 units in June 21 over sales of 4,51,983 units in June 20. Of this, 4,38,514 units were sold in domestic markets in the past month, a marginal increase over 4,30,889 units sold in June 20. Exports on the other hand noted a better performance with shipments to the tune of 30,646 units last month as compared to 21,094 units shipped in June 20.The company had reported total sales of 1,83,021 units in May 21 out of which domestic sales stood at 1,59,538 units and exports at 23,483 units.

    Year to Date Sales
    Year to date sales have doubled. It stood at 10,24,507 units of motorcycles and scooters sold in the first quarter of this fiscal as against 5,64,665 units sold in the same period of the previous year. Motorcycle sales were at 9,59,589 units in the first three months of the ongoing fiscal year, up from 5,24,179 sold in Q1 FY21 while scooter sales were at 64,918 units and 40,486 units respectively.
    Year to date domestic sales surged to 9,40,707 units over 5,39,737 units sold in the corresponding quarter of last year, relating to a 74 percent increase in sales. Exports escalated to 83,800 in Q1FY22 over 24,928 units sold in Q1 FY21.
    Strict safety measures are being followed by the company even as the vaccination drive goes full steam ahead and around 92% of the entire workforce of Hero MotoCorp having received their first vaccine dose. The compliance to guidelines laid down by State and Central Governments are being followed with sanitization of plant and dealerships and social distancing being a new norm.
    Automakers in India expect to see an increase in sales over the months ahead. The ongoing vaccination drive that has gathered steam, predictions of a favourable monsoon, revival of buyer sentiments, the upcoming festive season and the urgent need for personal mobility could all translate to better sales.     Ola Electric Scooter Taken For A Spin In Bangalore By CEO – First Look Video

    Shared mobility major Ola, who owns an electric mobility manufacturer Ola Electric, is scouting for sites across India and Europe to build a network of charging stations. The company is slated to launch its first electric scooter in India in the coming weeks.
    The Bengaluru-based startup is currently busy setting up its state of the art e-scooter manufacturing facility. Ola will invest Rs 2400 crore to build this facility and this will lead to creation of 10,000 jobs. As per latest update, first phase of construction is nearing completion.

    Ola App Scooter Details
    The Ola vehicle engineering team has been testing the Ola Scooter extensively for the last few months, where the Scooter has returned best-in-class range, speed and performance.
    The Ola Scooter will be made in India for the world at the Ola Futurefactory which is coming up at record pace in Tamil Nadu India on a 500 acres site. Its first phase is nearing completion and when fully built next year, at 10 million (1 crore) a year capacity, it will be the world’s largest two-wheeler factory.
    Charging Network
    Ola is looking for 50 sites in India and several such key locations in Europe to build a global network of charging infrastructure. The stations will be strategically located so that Ola’s customers may utilise them to charge their e-scooters quickly and conveniently.
    Reports also state that these e-scooters from Ola will feature swappable batteries and the availability of a wide charging network can address many issues related to battery recharging. Expect Ola to launch the electric scooter in a price range of about Rs 1 lakh. More

    2021 Bajaj Pulsar 250 NS Teased As Newest Street Machine?

    Bajaj is expected to launch the new Pulsar 250 in the festive season later this year competing against other quarter-litre roadsters
    Bajaj is developing a new 250cc iteration of Pulsar. This motorcycle could actually become a reality sooner than expected, as the homegrown brand has teased an upcoming motorcycle on its social media platform. It is likely that this could be the upcoming quarter-litre Pulsar.
    The latest post uploaded by Bajaj shows an image of a motorcycle hidden behind a flurry of smoke with a caption that read, “Can you guess the newest street machine?”. This could also be a marketing gimmick from the bikemaker and could easily be the latest entrant to the Pulsar family- NS125. The black alloy wheels with white rim stickers along with white accents on engine guard back this claim.
    Pulsar 250- Expected Design & Features
    Previously, a testing prototype spotted was the naked roadster version of Pulsar 250 which will probably wear the branding of ‘NS’. There is also going to be a faired version with the same mechanical setup onboard which is likely to wear the ‘RS’ branding.
    As seen in earlier spy shots, the upcoming bike gets a muscular fuel tank with extended shrouds and bikini fairing. Other notable highlights include an upswept side exhaust, an upright tail section and a split seat setup. Overall body proportions look evidently larger than NS200.
    Bajaj Pulsar NS 250 Teaser?
    It could feature an all-LED lighting setup and an all-digital instrument console with a full-colour display and Bluetooth connectivity. Bajaj is also expected to offer smartphone connectivity tech in the upcoming bike. This new Pulsar could feature an all-new 250cc motor and will be underpinned by a new platform.
    Expected Mechanical Specs
    The upcoming Pulsar 250 is likely to be based on a new platform different from the one used in Dominar 250 and KTM 250 Duke. It will draw its energy from a new 248.9cc, fuel-injected, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. Power and torque outputs are likely to range between Pulsar 220F and Dominar 250. This unit will be linked to a six-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch on offer.
    Hardware setup of the bike will comprise telescopic forks at front and a preload-adjustable mono-shock at rear. Braking will be taken care of by disc brakes on both wheels while safety net will be provided by a dual-channel ABS.
    The new Pulsar 250 could be hitting showrooms later this year, before the onset of the festive season.     Aprilia GPR250R 250cc Motorcycle Launched – China Price 27k Yuan (Rs 3.10 L)

    Track-ready Aprilia GPR250R has been launched in the Chinese market, where it will take on rivals such as Suzuki GSX250R, Chunfeng 250SR, Benelli 302R and QJ Motor Chase 350. Aprilia has also introduced the entry level GPR150R, which would appeal to folks with limited budget. The smaller capacity GPR150R is available in both ABS and non-ABS versions. Prices are 22,980 Yuan (~ Rs 2.65 lakh) and 20,980 Yuan (~ Rs 2.42 lakh), respectively.
    Aprilia GPR250R styling and features
    A number of styling bits have been borrowed from litre class Aprilia motorcycles such as RSV4. GPR250R gets an aggressive front fascia with snazzy LED headlamp, aerodynamic wind shield, sleek turn indicators, sculpted fuel tank, underbelly exhaust, alloy wheels and short tail section.
    The bike is equipped with a TFT colour instrument console that displays a range of information such as rpm, speed, engine temperature, odometer, and fuel gauge. Colour options include matte black and bright silver.
    The bike has a largely blacked-out look and comes with red graphics on the side fairing. The only major difference between the two colour options is in the colour of the fuel tank. The colour of graphics on the fuel tank is also different for both options.
    New Aprilia 250cc Motorcycle
    With rear-set foot pegs and flat handle bar, the bike offers an aggressive riding stance. It may work for short sprints, but may not be suitable for daily commutes in heavy, slow moving traffic. However, when used on race tracks or open roads, Aprilia GPR250R can get you close to the MotoGP experience.
    Aprilia GPR250R engine and specs
    Powering GPR250R is a 250cc water cooled, single cylinder, dual camshaft, 4-valve DOHC motor. It is capable of generating 28 ps of max power at 9000 rpm and 21.5 Nm of peak torque at 7500 rpm. It is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The bike has been equipped with slipper clutch and EFI system from Bosch.
    Frame used for the bike is a double-wing beam aluminium unit. Suspension system comprises USD forks at the front and monoshock rear suspension. Braking duties are performed by 218 mm disc at the front and 300 mm disc at the rear. Dual-channel ABS is offered as standard. GPR250R measures 1970mm in length, 770mm in width and 1150mm in height. Wheelbase is 1345mm. The bike weighs 158 kg and can carry 14 litres of fuel.
    At this point of time, Aprilia doesn’t seem to have plans to launch GPR250R in the Indian market. Here, it will have multiple rivals in the form of respective 250cc sports bikes from Yamaha, Honda, KTM and Suzuki. More

    Royal Enfield June 2021 Sales – Classic 350, Meteor, Himalayan, 650 Twins

    In a backdrop of uncertainty and limited sales opportunities, auto manufacturers have continued to power through. A second wave of Covid 19 pandemic wreaked havoc in the health situation in the country through Q1 FY22. This meant business plans had to be revised, production managed, and keeping out a constant eye on which areas were opening up or closing up for business in a phased manner.
    Royal Enfield reports sales of 37,258 units in the upto 350cc segment in June 2021. The company reports 7 percent growth, up from 34,890 units sold in June 2020. In the segment that exceeds 350cc, sales was reported at 5,790 units, up from 3,175 units.
    Total YoY sales growth
    Royal Enfield reports sales of 37,258 units in the upto 350cc segment in June 2021. The company reports 7 percent growth, up from 34,890 units sold in June 2020. Volume growth stood at 2,368 units. Sales in this segment were led by Classic 350, Meteor 350, Bullet and Electra.
    In the segment that exceeds 350cc, sales was reported at 5,790 units, up from 3,175 units. Volume growth stood at 2,615 units at 82.36 percent YoY growth. This segment had the Himalayan and the 650 Twins on offer.

    Total sales is reported at just over 43k units at 13 percent growth. Volume growth stands at just under 5k units, up from 38k units. Of this, domestic sales accounted for 83.20 percent of total sales. YoY sales decline stood at 1.9 percent as sales fell to 35,815 units, down from 36,510 units at volume loss of 695 units. Exports grew to 7,233 units, up from 1,555 units at volume gain of 5,678 units.
    MoM sales growth
    For the quarter just ended, Royal Enfield reported stronger sales in June than the month prior. MoM sales growth was witnessed on all fronts. In the upto 350cc segment, MoM sales growth was reported at 63.89 percent, up from 22,734 units. Volume growth surpassed the 14.5k unit mark.
    In the above 350cc segment, sales growth was reported at just under 27 percent. Sales was up at from 4,560 units, at volume growth of 1,230 units. Total MoM sales growth is reported at 57.72 percent. Volume growth stood at 15,754 units, up from 27,294 units. Of this, domestic sales accounts for majority share. MoM sales was up from just over 20k units at volume growth of 15,742 units. Exports remained more or less stable, up from 7,221 units.

    TVS Motor June 2021 Sales – Apache, Jupiter, XL 100, Ntorq, Scooty

    TVS Motor Company reports sales growth of 27 percent in June 2021. Wholesales are reported at 2,51,886 units, up from 1,98,387 units sold in June 2020. Volume gain stood at 53,499 units. The company says it reduced dealer stocks to support dealers and channel partners. TVS is managing its production to maintain adequate inventories for customer demand.
    While the market contains to function within limitations, there appears to be hope for the overall two-wheeler industry. While electric two-wheeler manufacturers continue to rise, India being a traditionally big market for two-wheelers has helped in this time of uncertainty.
    Total two-wheeler sales
    Total two-wheeler sales is reported at 25 percent growth at 2,38,092 units in June 2021, up from 1,91,076 units in June 2020. Volume growth stood at 47k units. Of this, motorcycle sales accounted for 1,46,874 units, up from 84,401 units in June 2020. Scooter sales was reported at 54,595 units in June 2021, down from 65,666 units in June 2020.
    Domestic two-wheeler sales reported 1,45,413 units in June 2021 up from 1,44,817 units in June 2020. Total exports is reported at 1,06,246 units, as against 53,123 units in June 2020. Two-wheeler exports is up at 92,679 units, up from 46,259 units in June 2020. Top sellers include Apache, Jupiter, Ntorq, XL100 as well as the Scooty Pep+.

    Export market demand remains robust. Export volumes however are impacted by container availability. Three-wheeler sales growth is reported at 89 percent with sales of 13,794 units in June 2021, up from 7,311 units YoY. Of this domestic sales declined to 227 units. Exports make up the mammoth share of 13,567 units.
    Q1 FY22 sales
    Of total domestic sales, moped sales fell to 36,623 units, down from 41,009 units at almost 11 percent decline. Of domestic two-wheels sales, TVS’ motorcycles contributed to about 62 percent of volumes, followed by scooters at 23 percent. It’s moped sales accounted for 15 percent of volumes.
    For the auto manufacturer, this is a unique proposition considering that no other manufacturer makes one. However, in time this is likely to change with the advent of electric two-wheelers as a number of new EV manufacturers are now launching moped like designed products.
    TVS Motor sales June 2021 vs May 2021 (MoM)
    For TVS, its stronghold remains the domestic market, which accounted for 61 percent of total sales volume last month. Exports accounted for the remainder 29 percent.
    Through Q1 FY22, two-wheelers sales is reported at 6.19 lakh units, up from 2.55 lakh units in the Q1 FY21. 3W sales is up at 39k units from 12k units for the quarter just ended.     Bajaj Auto Limited has released their sales reports for June 2021. It may be seen from the attached table that YoY sales increased substantially despite the ongoing pandemic situation in the country while YTD sales also surged both across domestic and export markets,
    YoY 2 Wheeler and CV Sales
    Bajaj Auto has reported sales to the tune of 3,46,136 units in June 21, up 24 percent over sales of 2,78,097 units of June 20. Sales increase was seen in the case of two wheeler sales and commercial vehicles. In domestic markets, two wheeler sales which had stood at 1,46,695 units in June 20, increased by 6 percent to 1,55,640 in the past month. Dominating sales in domestic markets were Pulsar, CT100, Platina, Avenger, Dominar, etc.
    Exports on the other hand, noted a more significant increase by 43 percent to 1,54,938 units in June 21, up from 1,08,427 units shipped in the same month of the past year. This took total sales in this segment to 3,10,578 unit, up 22 percent over 2,55,122 units sold in June 20.
    Bajaj Auto’s total commercial vehicle sales in June 2021 increased 55 percent to 35,558 units from 22,975 units, YoY. In domestic markets, the company sold 6,196 units, up 38 percent over 4,494 units sold in June 20 while exports increased 59 percent to 29,362 units in the past month, up from 18,481 units exported in June 20.

Exports increased 45 percent YoY to 1,84,300 units last month, over 1,26,908 units shipped in June 20. Total YoY sales increased 24 percent to 3,46,136 units in June 21, up from 2,78,097 units sold in June 20.
    YTD 2 Wheeler and CV Sales
    Taking the period April 21 to June 21 into account, total sales (2 wheeler and CV) increased 127 percent to 10,06,014 units up from 4,43,103 units of the same period in 2020. However, it may be kept in mind that auto markets in general were at an all-time low during that period.
    Bajaj Auto noted YTD growth across both segments, 2 wheeler and commercial vehicles and across domestic sales and exports. In domestic markets, two wheeler sales increased 84 percent from 1,85,981 units sold in the April-June 20 period to 3,42,552 units sold in the same period of the current year. Exports on the other hand surged 160 percent to 5,56,753 units in the April-June 21 period, taking total sales in this segment to 8,99,305 units, up 125 percent from 3,99,929 units sold in April-June 20.

    Commercial vehicle domestic sales increased 176 percent YTD to 14,585 units as against 5,282 units sold in April-June 20, while exports jumped 143 percent to 92,124 units from 37,892 units shipped in the same three month period of the previous year.     2021 CFMoto 650 NK, 650 MT, 650 GT Launched – Prices Increased By Up To 30K

    As compared to other two wheeler manufacturers, CFMoto has taken quite a long time to update its portfolio to BS6. The first product to be updated to BS6 was 300NK, which was launched earlier this year in March. That’s almost a year’s time since BS6 emission norms came into effect from April 01, 2020. Challenges related to pandemic are likely to have delayed CFMoto’s plans for the Indian market.
    Things seem to be improving now, as the Chinese motorcycle manufacturer has updated all its 650 cc bikes to comply with BS6 norms. The company’s middleweight portfolio comprises 650 NK, 650 MT and 650 GT. With the greener engines, the middleweight motorcycles have lost some of their power and torque. The BS6 update has also made the trio costlier than BS4 models.
    CFMoto 650cc BS6 new prices
    650NK BS6 has been launched at Rs 4.29 lakh (ex-showroom). That’s an increase of Rs 30k, as compared to the BS4 model. 650MT has also become costlier by Rs 30k. BS6 650MT has been launched at Rs 5.29 lakh. The least price hike is Rs 10k for 650GT. It is available at Rs 5.59 lakh.
    Even though prices have undergone and upward revision, CFMoto 650cc motorcycles are still among the affordable options in this segment. In terms of sales volumes, the 650cc motorcycle segment is currently dominated by Royal Enfield 650 twins – Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650.

    All three motorcycles utilize a cleaner 649.3cc, 2-cylinder inline, liquid cooled motor. It is capable of delivering 56 ps of max power at 8250 rpm and 54.4 Nm of peak torque at 7000 rpm. It is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
    With the updated engine, 650NK has registered a drop of 5 ps and 4.5 Nm. Power and torque of 650MT is down by 14 ps and 7.6 Nm. The 650GT loses 6.5 ps and 4.1 Nm. These are significant numbers that may impact overall performance. While first time users may not notice it, the difference could be evident to folks who have used BS4 models.
    Most other hardware is the same as earlier. The three 650cc motorcycles share quite a few features and components. Some of these include LED headlight, digital instrument console, and dual-channel ABS. All three bikes have 3.5×17 front wheels and 4.5×17 rear wheels.
    Talking about suspension, NK and GT have conventional telescopic front forks. In comparison, 650MT is equipped with adjustable USD forks. At the rear, cantilever type suspension is the same for all three motorcycles. More
