New Jawa Cruiser Front Spied – Retro Styling With Contemporary Features

New Jawa Cruiser. Image – IamabikerWith growing popularity of Jawa motorcycles, there’s scope to introduce more products in 350cc segment
Mahindra-owned Classic Legends is working on an aggressive portfolio expansion strategy that will give rise to new Jawa motorcycles as well resurrected brands such as Yezdi and BSA. Jawa range will soon be expanded to include a new cruiser bike. This has been spotted multiple times on road tests near Pune, Maharashtra.
    Jawa cruiser styling and features
Latest spy shots reveal the front, top and side section of new Jawa cruiser. Retro flavour is evident in the round headlamp, bar-end round rear-view mirrors, and tear-drop turn indicators. The bike has a chubby profile, as is evident with the rounded fuel tank and side panels. Other key features include compact windscreen, fork gaiters, spoke-styled alloy wheels, engine and leg guard and dual exhaust pipes.
Most of the key components have been blacked-out such as engine casing, frame, exhaust, alloy wheels, and rear suspension. Based on colour options available at the time of launch, some of these components could have a metallic finish.
Users can expect comfortable rides on Jawa cruiser, as it has upright, ergonomic riding stance. Footpegs are slight forward set, which should ensure optimal leg comfort even for taller riders. Wide handlebar will ensure hands can stay rested without any discomfort even during long distance touring.
    New Jawa Cruiser Spied
The single-piece seat appears to pack in thick padding, which should further enhance riding pleasure. The seat is pretty wide as well, possibly larger than that of current breed of Jawa motorcycles. The seat will offer optimal comfort for both rider and pillion.
In terms of features, Jawa cruiser will be getting an inverted speedo. Existing Jawa bikes already have this feature. Other contemporary features could include LED headlamp with LED DRLs. Bluetooth-based connectivity features could also be on offer.
    Jawa cruiser engine and specs
It is likely that Jawa cruiser will be using the 334cc motor that is currently used with Perak. The liquid cooled, single cylinder, DOCH motor churns out 30.64 ps of max power and 32.74 Nm of peak torque. It is linked to a constant mesh 6-speed gearbox.
Suspension duties will be performed by conventional telescopic forks at front and dual rear shock absorbers. While alloy wheels will be standard, the bike could also be offered with spoke wheels. Braking system will have disc brakes at both ends. Dual-channel ABS will be offered as standard.
Jawa cruiser bike may not have a direct rival at the time of its launch. In terms of its pricing, it will continue to rival the existing range of Royal Enfield motorcycles. In the long-term, Jawa cruiser can face competition from new 350cc bikes being readied by Royal Enfield. Honda has also set aggressive plans for this segment. It too can introduce new bikes to rival Jawa cruiser. More

    Yamaha R15S V3 Vs New R15 V4 – Similarities And Differences

New Yamaha R15 V4. Image – MRD VlogsYamaha R15S is based on the previous gen YZF R15 V3 and not on the new R15 V4
A couple of weeks back, Yamaha launched a new generation model of R15, christened as the R15 V4. India was the first country to have received the new gen R15. It has received applause from all corners. The entry-level sports bike has always found many takers in the Indian market due to its impressive looks and handling and powerful performance.
However, the new-gen R15 also comes with a sizeable price hike which might put it out of the shopping list of many enthusiast bikers. Hence, Yamaha has followed R15 V4 with a more affordable version of the baby sports bike called R15 S V3. As the name suggests, it is based on the previous gen model.
    Yamaha R15S V3 Vs New R15 V4 – Design
It is a different bike altogether from the current V4 on sale. Let us look at some of the key variations in R15S V3 which distinguishes itself from R15 V4. For starters, a notable variation is the revised styling of R15 V3 as opposed to R15 V4. The former gets a familiar twin-beam LED headlamp at front as opposed to a single beam headlamp housed inside the front apron of V4.
Another difference is the inclusion of a unibody single-piece saddle in R15S as opposed to split-seats on offer in R15 V4. In fact, the sleek saddle in R15S is expected to be more comfortable than the latter as it offers much more room for both the rider and pillion as well. The new R15S is only available in a single Racing Blue colour option instead of five paint schemes on offer in R15 V4.
    Yamaha R15S V3 Vs New R15 V4
    Yamaha R15S V3 Vs V4 – Engine, Hardware Specs
Powering both versions of R15 is the same 155cc, single-cylinder, SOHC, liquid-cooled engine although output is marginally different from each other. The motor in R15S cranks out 18.6 PS at 10,000rpm and 14.1 Nm of peak torque at 8,500rpm. R15 V4 motor delivers 18.4 PS and 14.2 Nm at the same rpms. Both engines are paired with the same 6-speed gearbox with a slipper and assist clutch.
Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) technology is on offer with both. The two motorcycles sit on a familiar deltabox frame and feature the same Aluminum Swingarm although the rear subframe on R15 V4 has been tweaked slightly. Another major variation is that R15S comes with simple telescopic forks at front, unlike the more advanced USD forks upfront.
    Features & Price
More importantly, R15S misses out on some critical features such as traction control and a quickshifter like in the fourth-gen R15. It does feature a fully digital instrument console with Gear Shift Indicator but R15S misses on a Bluetooth connectivity option offered in R15 V4. Other common features on both motorcycles include Side stand with an engine cut-off switch, LED headlamps and a dual-channel ABS.
    Yamaha R15S V3 Vs New R15 V4
The most significant variation is the difference in pricing of the two models. R15S is priced at Rs 1.57 lakh whereas the base variant of R15 V4 is Rs 14,000 dearer than the former. On other hand, at Rs 1.83 lakh, the top-spec MotoGP Edition of R15 V4 is pegged at a price of Rs 26,000 higher than R15S. All prices are ex-showroom. More

Harley Davidson 2021 Sportster S India Launch At 2021 IBW

Harley Davidson 2021 Sportster SThe 1250cc V-Twin motor in Sportster S has been tuned to produce more torque and offer more low-end and mid-range grunt
The Sportster brand has been an iconic range of cruisers under Harley Davidson’s portfolio which has been in continuous production since 1957. Harley Davidson unveiled its latest sport custom motorcycle named Sportster S earlier this year.
Now it is getting ready for India launch. Today, Harley Davidson India revealed that the motorcycle will be launched at the 2021 India Bike Week, which is scheduled to take place near Lonavala in Maharashtra on 4-5 Dec 2021.
    Harley Davidson 2021 Sportster S – Custom-like Design
The final production model of Sportster S made its first appearance as a Custom concept almost four years back and still stays very much similar. The silhouette of production-spec Sportster S is retained with beefy twin-can exhausts, chunky tyres and a single-piece seat.
The bike gets a large skid plate underneath and a nice flat line from tank to seat whereas the massive front tyre and a short fender lends it a classic bobber look. Upfront, Sportster S flaunts a capsule-shaped headlight which looks a little quirky. Other styling highlights such as the flat tail section, with a cowl, single-piece saddle and upswept golden-coloured exhaust mufflers draw inspiration from Harley Davidson XR750 flat tracker.
    Harley Davidson 2021 Sportster S
The powertrain is highlighted by the use of a Chocolate Satin finish on the magnesium engine covers. The cruiser will be offered in three colour options namely Stone Washed White Pearl, Midnight Crimson and Vivid Black. Overall, the cruiser has been crafted in a manner to make it look like a custom-built bike.
    Hardware Configurations
Harley Davidson has also updated the chassis of the new Sportster S where the engine now acts as the stress member. This is done to reduce the weight of the bike. Further, the use of lightweight materials has helped achieve an optimum power-to-weight ratio. The company also claims that a stiffer chassis has improved the handling of the motorcycle. The tubular steel frame is suspended on Showa 43mm inverted forks at front and a SHOWA Piggyback mono-shock at rear.
While the front suspension unit is fully adjustable, the rear unit features hydraulic preload adjustment. The motorcycle rides on 17-inch front and 16-inch rear lightweight cast-aluminum wheels with a staggered, five-spoke design. Braking duties are handled by a 320mm disc chewed down by a four-piston, radial monoblock Brembo caliper at front and a 260mm disc held by a twin-piston Brembo caliper at rear.
    Harley Davidson 2021 Sportster S
    RE-Tuned V-Twin Motor
The powertrain features a 1250cc Revolution Max 1250T engine at its mechanical heart. This unit is the American bikemaker’s latest iteration of a liquid-cooled 60-degree V-Twin engine which has been derived from Pan America 1250. However, in Sportster S, it makes 121 bhp and 125 Nm of torque which is 30 horses less than what is offered in its hardcore adventure bike sibling. The engine is married to a six-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch.
While the output is on the lower side, Harley says the engine has been tuned to offer more grunt at low-end and mid-range. The engine also offers 10 percent more torque between 3,000 and 6,000 rpm. The 1,250cc unit also features other modern technologies such as VVT (Variable Valve Timing) and DOHC (Dual Overhead Camshafts).
    Features on offer
Speaking of technologies, Sportster S is laced with modern electronic amenities including a 4.0-inch-diameter TFT digital console with smartphone connectivity, a six-axis inertial measurement unit (IMU), cornering ABS, traction control, tyre pressure monitoring system, cruise control and many more. It also offers four riding modes- Road, Sport, Rain and Custom.
Sportster S has been offered at a starting price of USD 14,999 (approx. INR 11.18 lakh). India launch price is expected to be in the range of Rs 15-20 lakh. More

TVS Ntorq Vs Suzuki Avenis Vs Yamaha RayZR – Specs, Features Comparo

New Suzuki AvenisWith its compact profile, sporty design and peppy engine, Suzuki Avenis will primarily target younger audiences
While Suzuki already has Access and Burgman Street in 125cc segment, recently launched Avenis turns out to be a better match against rivals like TVS Ntorq. In addition to its sporty profile, Avenis also packs in a range of useful features. To understand how it fares against rivals, here’s a quick comparison between Suzuki Avenis vs. TVS Ntorq vs. Yamaha RayZR.
TVS Ntorq Vs Suzuki Avenis Vs Yamaha RayZR – Design and styling
All three scooters have a sporty profile with sharp design, unique styling bits and sculpted body panelling. It is tough to say which is the better looking one. But Avenis does have the advantage of offering a fresh design. Coupled with its sporty graphics and striking dual-tone colour options, Avenis could get the customer’s attention. In addition to standard colour options, Avenis is also available in MotoGP inspired Race Edition.
Suzuki Avenis vs TVS Ntorq vs Yamaha RayZR
If we consider only the colour options, it’s apparent that Ntorq fares better in this aspect. That’s because it has different variants in varying colour themes. The kind of styling seen with Ntorq Race Edition, Super Squad Edition and Race XP is a lot sportier and exciting. RayZR follows closely with 6 standard colour options and a special MotoGP Edition with Monster Energy branding.
    Features
In terms of features, there’s not much difference between the three scooters. Key essentials that really matter such as Bluetooth mobile connectivity, app-based connectivity features, charging point, digital instrument console, and LED headlight and DRL are available with all three scooters.
Suzuki Avenis vs TVS Ntorq vs Yamaha RayZR
In case of Avenis, its key features include turn-by-tun navigation, motorcycle inspired rear indicators, external fuel filling, front glove box with USB charging socket, side stand engine cut-off, and engine start and kill switch.
Ntorq has most of these features excluding a few such as side stand engine cut-off. But Ntorq has some additional features such as voice assist commands. RayZR misses out on features such as navigation, engine kill switch, external fuel filler cap and LED tail light.
TVS Ntorq Vs Suzuki Avenis Vs Yamaha RayZR – Engine and specs
In terms of power output, Ntorq leads the pack with 10.2 ps of max power at 7,000 rpm. It is India’s first 125cc scooter to have more than 10 hp power. Torque output is also highest at 10.8 Nm at 5,500 rpm. Avenis makes 8.7 ps at 6,750 rpm and 10 Nm at 5,500 rpm. RayZR has least power output at 8.2 ps, but torque is second best at 10.3 Nm. While Avenis and Ntorq have CVT gearbox, RayZR utilizes a V-Belt Automatic unit.
Suzuki Avenis vs TVS Ntorq vs Yamaha RayZR
RayZR low power should not be a concern, as it is the lightest of the three at 99kg. Avenis and Ntorq have kerb weight of 106 kg and 116 kg, respectively. All three scooters have telescopic front suspension. At the rear, Avenis has swingarm whereas Ntorq uses coil spring with hydraulic dampers. RayZR has unit swing rear suspension. Braking combo of front disc and rear drum is common for all three scooters.
TVS Ntorq Vs Suzuki Avenis Vs Yamaha RayZR – Price
Yamaha RayZR is the most affordable, priced in the range of Rs 75,372 – 85,896. Next is TVS Ntorq available in the range of Rs 78,090 – 87,270. Suzuki Avenis is costliest, priced at Rs 86,700 – 87,000. But this is because the price of standard version has not been announced yet. Avenis standard version is expected to be priced competitively. Suzuki plans to open bookings of Avenis in the first week of Dec 2021. More

New Royal Enfield Classic 350 Bobber Planned For Launch In 2022

Image for reference. Credit – Neev MotorcyclesNew 350cc motorcycles are part of the company’s long-term plan to introduce an average of one new/updated product every quarter
Royal Enfield currently leads in 350cc motorcycle segment with market share of more than 80%. To ensure consumers have more options to choose from, four new 350cc motorcycles will be launched by end of next year. In addition to domestic market, these bikes will also be sold globally. Some of these can actually register higher sales in overseas markets. This trend can already be seen with 650 twins that usually sell more units internationally.
Royal Enfield new 350cc bikes details
All four bikes will be using the new 350cc engine and new J platform. These upgrades were first introduced with Meteor 350 last year, followed by recently launched all-new Classic 350. These improvements have resulted in multiple benefits including smooth power delivery, reduced vibrations and better stability and control.
The new 350cc motor generates 20.2 bhp of max power and 27 Nm of peak torque. It is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. Another key feature introduced with Meteor was Tripper navigation. It remains to be seen which among the four new bikes will be getting this.
Excluding the 350cc bobber, all other bikes will have telescopic forks at front and twin gas charged rear shock absorbers. Braking system has disc brakes at both ends and dual-channel ABS will be offered as standard.
Royal Enfield Hunter 350 – Render
New Bullet 350 and Hunter 350
Among the new bikes, one is likely to be Bullet 350. Codenamed J1B, it will be replacing existing Bullet 350 and the Bullet 350 ES. Bullet 350 is currently the third bestselling 350cc Royal Enfield bike, trailing behind Classic 350 and Meteor 350.
Second new 350cc bike could be a Meteor-based roadster. Spied quite frequently in recent months, it is being referred to as Hunter 350. Internally, this bike has been codenamed J1C1. Hunter will have a sibling as well, which is codenamed J1C2. It will be the same as Hunter in terms of core hardware components. However, it will miss out on some of the premium features. The idea is to make the bike the most affordable 350cc motorcycle from Royal Enfield.
Hunter and its sibling will have retro styling with features such as round headlamp, round rear-view mirrors and spoke-design alloy wheels. Other key features include fork gaiters, upswept exhaust, 17-inch wheels at both ends, split grab rails, short rear section, and round taillight. Test mules have been spotted with an all-black theme. At the time of launch, several more colour options are likely.
    2022 Classic 350 Bobber
Fourth product will be a bobber-styled motorcycle based on new Classic 350. Although not much details are available right now, it could borrow some styling bits from Concept KX 838 that was showcased in 2019. Internally, the 350cc bobber is codenamed J1H. It could get features such as single seat, wide and tall handlebar, and spoke-styled alloy wheels.
Royal Enfield is also working to expand its 400cc and 650cc range. Some of the upcoming bikes in these segments include a new cheaper Himalayan variant called Scram 411, a cruiser named Super Meteor 650 and a more powerful 650cc Himalayan.

Powertrain of TMax hasn’t been changed with the same 560cc two-cylinder DOHC engine propelling the latest iteration. This motor cranks out 47.6 bhp at 7,500rpm and 55.7 Nm of torque at 5,250rpm with power going to the rear wheel via an automatic transmission and belt drive. That said, there are some tweaks made to the scooter’s hardware configurations.
Suspension setup comprises new 41mm USD forks upfront and a single rear shock which offers a better front-end feel and damping at the rear. Braking duties are handled by dual 262mm front discs and a 282mm rear disc which are complemented by a dual-channel ABS. More
