    500cc+ motorcycle segment sales were at 2,485 units in April, registering healthy YoY growth of 49.34%Modified RE by Neev MotorcyclesTotal sales in April last year were at 1,664 units. In the top 10, six motorcycles have registered positive growth. The ones with negative YoY growth are Kawasaki Z900, Triumph Trident and Ninja 650. Earlier in March, this segment had registered phenomenal growth of 164.54%.Top 10 500cc+ Motorcycles Apr 2022 – 650 twins leadRoyal Enfield 650 twins registered sales of 2,159 units in April. YoY growth is 66.98%, as compared to 1,293 units sold in the corresponding period last year. Market share is at 86.88%. Earlier this month, Royal Enfield had increased prices of 650 twins in the range of Rs 2,845 to Rs 4,681.Interceptor 650 is now available in the price range of Rs 2.89 lakh to Rs 3.15 lakh. Continental GT variants are priced from Rs 3.06 lakh to Rs 3.32 lakh. Price hike is due to rise in input costs. There are no updates to the 650 twins.At number two in the list is Kawasaki Versys 650 with sales of 47 units in April. YoY growth is 261.54%, as compared to 13 units sold in April last year. Market share is at 1.89%. In international markets, Versys 650 could soon be challenged by a new rival Benelli TRK 702. It will be powered by a 693cc parallel-twin motor that churns out 74 bhp of max power. The motor has been developed by China-based QJ Motor, the parent company of Benelli.500cc+ Motorcycle Sales April 2022Kawasaki Z900 is third with sales of 38 units in April. YoY growth is down by -49.33%, as compared to 75 units sold in April last year. Market share is at 1.53%. At number four is Honda CBR 650 with sales of 33 units in April. YoY growth is 22.22%, as compared to 27 units in April last year. Market share is at 1.33%. Earlier this year in January, Honda had launched the 2022 model of CBR650R at a starting price of Rs 9.35 lakh. Barring a few cosmetic updates, the bike is largely the same as the outgoing model.At number five is Triumph Tiger 660 with sales of 27 units in April. Market share is at 1.09%. Tiger Sport 660 was launched earlier this year in March at a starting price of Rs 8.95 lakh. The bike is powered by a 660cc, 12-valve, liquid cooled motor that makes 80 bhp / 64 Nm. It is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.Africa Twin registers strong growthAt number six in the list is Africa Twin with sales of 20 units in April. Only one unit was sold in April last year. Earlier this year in March, Honda had launched the 2022 model at a starting price of Rs 16.01 lakh.     Benelli Keeway Maxi Scooter Debuts In India – 278cc, 18.7 hp

    Upon its launch in India, Keeway Vieste 300 maxi-scooter is expected to be priced around Rs 2.50 lakh (ex-showroom)Benelli Keeway 300cc ScooterKeeway made its grand entry into the Indian market by unveiling not one but three new products. We have already discussed the K-Light 250V cruiser motorcycle and the Sixties 300i retro-style scooter in detail. The third model in the company’s India lineup will be Vieste 300 which is a Maxi-style scooter. All three will be sold via the Benelli dealer network. Keeway and Benelli are owned by China’s QJ Motor Group.The Maxi scooter space hasn’t been a mass volume churning segment since there are only a handful of such options available in the country and Keeway intends to utilize this wide space by introducing Vieste 300. When launched it will be slotted right in between Yamaha Aerox 155 and BMW 400 GT in India.Benelli Keeway Vieste 300 ScooterPrices of Keeway Vieste 300 are expected to be announced a few months later at the time of its official launch.     Royal Enfield motorcycles continue to dominate with more than 90% market share – CB350 tops in exportsModified Meteor by Ironwood Custom350cc motorcycle segment registered modest gains of 8.77% in April with sales of 51,827 units. Sales during the corresponding period last year was at 47,650 units. Bullet and Meteor have negative YoY growth in the month.MoM sales have taken a hit, down by -6.50%. Sales in March 2022 were higher at 55,432 units. All motorcycles have negative MoM growth in April. Exports growth is at 89.82%, with a total of 5,163 units in April. Exports in April last year were at 2,720 units. MoM growth is also positive at 26.64%, as compared to 4,077 units exported in March 2022.350cc motorcycle sales – Classic 350 leadsWith 62.85% market share, Classic 350 continues to dominate this space. Sales were at 32,575 units in April, marking gains of 39.82%. Sales in the corresponding period last year were at 23,298 units. Classic MoM growth is down marginally by -0.36%, as compared to 32,694 units sold in March. Royal Enfield recently increased prices of Classic 350 in the range of Rs 1,846 to Rs 2,846. The bike is now available in the price range of Rs 1.90 lakh to Rs 2.20 lakh.At number two is Bullet 350, with sales of 7,513 units in April. YoY growth is down by -24.17%, as compared to 9,908 units sold in April last year. Market share is at 14.50%. MoM growth is down by -9.30%, as compared to 8,283 units sold in March. Enthusiasts can look forward to the new-gen Bullet that will be launched later this year. It will have refreshed styling, new platform and engine and some new features as well.350cc Motorcycle Sales April 2022Next in the list is Meteor 350 with sales of 4,617 units in April. YoY growth is down by -41.14%, as compared to 7,844 units sold in April last year. Market share is at 8.91%. MoM growth is down by -29.93%, as compared to 6,589 units sold in March. Meteor was recently updated with three new colour options of green, blue and red. Another update was price cut by Rs 5k, owing to Tripper navigation becoming an optional feature.Fourth is Electra 350 with sales of 3,918 units in April. YoY growth is 7.90%, as compared to 3,631 units sold in April last year. Market share is at 7.56%. MoM growth is down by -12.15%, as compared to 4,460 units sold in March. Honda CB350 is fifth with sales of 3,204 units in April. YoY growth is 7.92%, as compared to 2,969 units sold in April last year. Market share is at 6.18%. MoM growth is down by -5.93%, as compared to 3,406 units sold in March.350cc motorcycle exports – CB350 races aheadCB350 has made impressive gains of 164.40% in April. Share in export markets is at 43.02%. A total of 2,221 units were exported in April 2022, as compared to 840 units in April last year. MoM growth is 393.56%, as compared to 450 units exported in March. Classic 350 is second with exports of 1,797 units in April. YoY growth is 148.20%, as compared to 724 units exported in April last year. Market share is at 34.81%. Mumbai-based electric two-wheeler manufacturer- Odysse, has launched two new scooters in the country namely V2 and V2+.These new electric scooters have been priced at Rs 75,000 and Rs 97,500 (both prices ex-showroom) respectively. Prior to the latest launch, Odysse had four models under its portfolio including E2go, Hawk+, Racer and Evoqis. The company intends to expand its range by rolling two more models at the end of this year.Odysse V2, V2+ Electric Scooters – FeaturesOdysse has equipped these scooters with dual IP 67-rated water-resistant battery packs that can offer an uninterrupted range of 150km on a single charge. As per claims made by the EV manufacturing startup, the new waterproof motor and battery have significantly improved performance and durability of their electric vehicles as well as helped reduce repair and maintenance during times of rain.Customers can choose from six colour options including Black, peach, white, pista, red and blue. Apart from the colour palette, Odysse is also offering features like LED lighting, large under-seat storage, an anti-theft lock and passive battery cooling among others. The electric scooters roll on 12-inch alloy wheels upfront. It gets a flat floorboard which might be very useful for mounting luggage between the rider’s legs.Other highlights include a flat single-piece seat, rectangular rearview mirrors, a single-piece grab rail and a rectangular backrest for the pillion. The only difference in V2 and V2+ is the option of a removable battery pack available in the latter only. Apart from Ahmedabad, Odysse has also commenced manufacturing operations in Mumbai and Hyderabad.Plans for OdysseOdysse is planning to have 100 dealerships across the country by end of this year.     KTM, Husqvarna Sales Apr 2022 – Duke, RC 125, 200, 250, 390 ADV

    KTM India’s YoY sales dipped both on domestic and export markets while exports increased substantially on a MoM basisImage – Dev MTRKTM India domestic sales in April 2022 ended on a dismal note. Every model in the company lineup posted a YoY de-growth. Sales were down to 651 units, a dip of 85.60 percent over 4,522 units sold in April 2021 with a volume loss of 3,871 units.KTM India MoM sales were also in the red with an 82.26 percent MoM de-growth from 3,669 units sold in March 2021 relating to volume loss of 3,018 units. The reason for decline in sales is that the company faces severe shortage of parts, which has adversely affected production.KTM India Domestic Sales April 2022KTM 390 (Duke + RC + ADV) was the top seller. Sales fell to 454 units, down 46.55 percent over 851 units sold in April 2021 and commands a 69.74 percent share. MoM sales however improved 45300 percent from just 1 units sold in March 2022. Earlier this month, KTM India announced launch of the ADV 390 which comes in at a starting price of Rs 3.35 lakh, (ex-showroom). KTM is also set to launch the RC 390 at a starting price of Rs 3,13,922, (ex-showroom).KTM 200 (Duke + RC) sales decline stood at 89.93 percent YoY to 142 units in April 2022 from 1,410 units sold in April 2021. Currently holding a 21.81 percent share, this was a YoY volume de-growth of 1,268 units. MoM sales also dipped 92.69 percent from 1,943 units sold in March 2022 when share percentage stood at 52.96.KTM Domestic Sales April 2022Domestic sales of KTM 125 (RC + Duke) fell 97.44 percent YoY to 30 units from 1,172 units sold in April 2021 contributing 4.61 percent to company’s domestic sales while MoM sales dipped 83.87 percent from 186 units sold in March 2022. KTM 250 (Duke + ADV) sales were at 25 units in the past month, down 97.70 percent over 1,089 units sold in April 2021 relating to 1,064 unit volume de-growth. MoM sales dipped 98.38 percent over 1,539 units sold in March 2022.KTM India Exports April 2022Even as KTM India exports dipped YoY, its MoM performance was more positive. YoY exports dipped 17.34 percent to 10,313 units from 12,477 units shipped in April 2021. On this list, it was only the KTM 250 that posted positive sales.KTM 390 exports fell 6.44 percent to 5,205 units last month, down from 5,563 units sold in April 2021 while MoM exports improved 283.85 percent over 1,356 units sold in March 2022. Share percentage also increased from 37.46 percent to 50.47 percent. KTM 125 shipments stood at 2,044 units in the past month, down 11.74 percent over 2,316 units sold in April 2021 while MoM increase was at 86.84 percent from 1,094 units sold in March 2022.KTM India Exports April 2022It was a 46.87 percent de-growth in exports of the KTM 200 to 1,958 units last month, down from 3,685 units sold in April 2021 even as MoM exports increased 176.55 percent from 708 units sold in March 2022. Exports grew for the KTM 250 by 21.41 percent to 1,106 units in April 2022 from 913 units exported in April 2021 while MoM shipments improved 139.39 percent from 462 units shipped in March 2022.KTM India Total Sales April 2022 (Sales + Exports)KTM India total sales stood at 10,964 units in April 2021, down 35.50 percent over 16,999 units sold in April 2021 relating to volume de-growth of 6,035 units. MoM sales improved 17.02 percent boosted by increased exports from 9,369 units sold in March 2022.KTM India Total (Sales + Exports) April 2022In total YoY sales it was a de-growth across all models on the company portfolio. KTM 125 saw a MoM growth of 62.03 percent to 2,074 units from 1,280 units sold in March 2022 while KTM 390 sales improved 317.02 percent to 5,659 units from 1,357 units sold in March 2022. MoM de-growth was again seen in the case of the KTM 200 (-20.78 percent) and KTM 250 (-43.48 percent).Husqvarna India April 2022 (Sales + Exports)KTM’s sister brand, Husqvarna also reported a decline where domestic sales are concerned. In the domestic market, Husqvarna retails Svartpilen and Vitpilen 250cc range – sales of which were only 5 units for April 2022. This was a YoY decline of 98%, as 219 units were sold in April 2021.Husqvarna India Sales + Exports – April 2022Where exports are concerned, Husqvarna has the 125cc, 200cc, 250cc and the 373cc range. Husqvarna 125 exports stood at 420 units, while that of the 200cc stood at 72 units. 250cc exports were at 204 units. Topping exports was the 401 series, with 1,762 units.
