BMW Electric Scooter India Launch Planned – Exp Price Rs 15 Lakh

BMW CE 04 electric scooter will be a direct import hence taking the price sky-highBMW Electric ScooterBMW Motorrad is launching new vehicles to expand its motorcycle portfolio in India. The German brand aims at bringing all their motorcycles and scooters to the Indian market. Speaking about BMW scooters, we got the BMW C 400 GT maxi-scooter on our soil last year. Despite the steep price of Rs 10 lakh, it is generating good sales.BMW Group India President Vikram Pawah said that BMW C 400 GT Maxi-scooter’s success in India has led them to believe that a strong demand exists for a premium product. BMW is now planning on launching their electric scooter in India. If all goes well, the CE 04 electric maxi-scooter will be launched in India via CBU route. This electric scooter is on sale in Europe currently, which is where it is manufactured.BMW Electric Scooter CE 04One look at the BMW CE 04 electric scooter will stun you. It looks like it came straight out of a Cyberpunk movie that probably took place in 2200. BMW CE 04 has a really long wheelbase with a low ground clearance which might be a recipe for disaster for Indian roads with giant and vastly illogical speed breakers. The front windshield finished in funky orange, looks purely aesthetic and might not deflect any wind. The seats look very eye-catching and at the same time, very uncomfortable. The rider’s triangle looks very comfortable though. Sticking with the maxi-styled design, it is not a step-through scooter as the central tunnel is stuffed with batteries.BMW Electric Scooter CE 04Speaking of batteries, it has an 8.9 kWh battery pack which is more than twice as much as an Ola S1 Pro. This battery pack is essentially one module out of 11 modules found on BMW’s iX electric SUVs. Instead of designing new EV components, BMW is reusing what they already have – parts sharing is the mantra. The motor makes 42 bhp and 62 Nm and is precisely a 1/3rd section of the motor that powers BMW X1 PHEV SUV. Also, it has a 10.25” horizontal screen for instrumentation, like we have seen on BMW cars.Price & LaunchOther components include front 35mm telescopic front forks and rear off-set mono-shock mounted on a single-sided swingarm, dual disc setup at front, and single disc setup at the rear with dual-channel ABS, belt-drive and more. It is capable of 120 kph top speed and 130 km of range from a single charge and weighs a whopping 231 kg. Yikes!BMW Electric Scooter costs $11,795 (approx Rs. 9.50 lakh) for the base model and $14,180 (approx Rs. 11.42 lakh) for the top-spec variant (both prices ex-sh) in global markets. Going by import trends in India, we will get the top-spec variant and due to Indian import duties and taxes, we can see a hefty price tag of Rs. 15 lakh to 18 lakh. You can buy an imported Hayabusa for that price in India. Heck, you can even buy the newly launched Tata Nexon EV Max, for this price.New BMW Electric ScooterIf launched, BMW won’t be pitting it for regular EV buyers at all. This is for the uber-rich Indians that want to make a statement with a niche product. Looking at it from that perspective, this is an absolute gem as an expensive collection in their garage. Because it looks like a concept vehicle that one can actually buy and it doesn’t get better than that. For the mass market segment, BMW does have plans to launch entry level electric vehicles, in partnership with TVS. But that will take some time. In related news, BMW G 310 RR was launched recently too.Source More

Honda Activa takes the top spot as TVS Jupiter and Suzuki Access take 2nd and 3rd spot respectivelyImage for reference.India is one of the largest motorcycle markets in the world. Ola Electric Scooter Move OS 3 Launch On Diwali 2022 – First Teaser

Ola Move OS 3 is expected to launch around Diwali, on time, unlike Move OS 2.0 which saw multiple delaysOla Electric Scooter Move OS 3 Launch TeaserOla Electric continues to promise new features for their S1 Pro electric scooter. But the good news is that most of the promised features have been released, even though they took their own sweet time. This attribute induces trust and confidence towards this startup brand that is aiming big in little time. We say this because Ola is already promising an electric car. Yeah!Ola Electric has seen quite a few setbacks too. The fire hazard incident that took place in Pune, an S1 Pro customer set his electric scooter on fire because he claimed it was unusable and a few incidents where the front single-sided suspension fork broke. But in a world where the Takata airbag recall blunder exists that affected 7 crore vehicles worldwide with faulty airbags, Ola S1 Pro niggles are tiny.Ola Move OS 3 Launch TimelineOla Electric CEO Bhavish Aggarwal recently took to social media platforms to announce the Move OS 3.0 which is set to release for everyone. Not just select customers for pilot testing, everyone. That is a big promise. In that light, we can expect Move OS 3 pilot runs for select customers way before Diwali. What is Move OS 3? Good question. Ola S1 Pro electric scooter is a new gen scooter with advanced connectivity which enables OTA updates. These updates are similar to software updates we get on our mobiles and other computing devices. Ola software updates can alter vehicle parameters and also give feature additions.Ola Electric Scooter Move OS 3 Launch on Diwali 2022So, what can we expect from Move OS 3 over Move OS 2? Bhavish Aggarwal has promised some feature upgrades and additions that will add value to existing S1 Pro users in the way they interact with their electric scooter. Among many, some feature additions disclosed by Ola CEO are hill hold, proximity unlock, moods, regen v2, hyper charging, calling, and key sharing. Of these, he has teased the Moods feature of Ola Electric scooter Move OS 3 in the video below. What Is New?Hill hold helps users while starting on an incline where the scooter will not roll back. Proximity unlock is similar to request sensors we have on cars where the vehicle will detect that a key is near, in S1 Pro’s case, a phone. Moods might be swappable themes for the instrument console. While regen v2 refers to the new software that controls regenerative braking allowing finer control or changed regen intensity.Hypercharging can mean that Ola is now allowing more voltage or amperage, hence increasing the wattage of charging with this Move OS 3. This will reduce the charging time by some margin. Calling feature might introduce a digital keypad on the touchscreen instrument cluster or allow you to take calls from the scooter’s speakers directly or both, if that’s your jam (weirdly). Lastly, we have key sharing allowing other people to access an Ola scooter with temporary or permanent access with their phones instead of the user’s phone.Testing out the Moods feature in MoveOS 3.This one is for those who still have an ICE hangover! I’ll not take names ? pic.twitter.com/Z70eZpOcN8— Bhavish Aggarwal (@bhash) July 17, 2022Looking at the timeframe Move OS 2 took to launch and multiple delays, we have split opinions on whether Ola Electric can pull off the Diwali timeframe for Move OS 3. CEO Bhavish Aggarwal lauds Ola Engineering for executing this software at this speed. This means software has already been compiled and will now be under testing. Speed is good. But with development and refinement of software and hardware, speed is a recipe for disaster.  More

TVS Apache 310 Owner Modifies His Motorcycle To Look Like BMW G310RR

BMW G310RR has been officially launched in India at a starting price of Rs 2.85 lakh – Rs 20k more than TVS Apache RR 310TVS Apache 310 Modified to look like BMW G310RRBMW Motorrad had developed a winning formula in collaboration with TVS. This formula of a 310cc platform that both companies could utilize, has worked wonders for both. TVS created Apache 310, a fully faired track focused road bike while BMW created G310R, a naked street bike and G310GS, an adventure tourer. Now a 4th motorcycle has been launched on this platform.BMW has launched a fully-faired and track-focused machine named G310RR. This baby RR model is based on TVS Apache RR 310. BMW was expected to make at least some design changes on the G310RR. But that is not the case.TVS Apache 310 Owner Modifies MotorcycleAll four motorcycles are manufactured by TVS at their plant in India. In the past, we saw TVS and BMW keeping their 310cc motorcycles very different from each other. In fact they were serving different segments. BMW even priced their motorcycles a lot more, which were later reduced. This is the first time both manufacturers have entered in the same segment of motorcycle. When BMW had first announced the launch of G310RR, many expected it to be a different machine than Apache 310. But the G310RR is the same as TVS Apache 310, with a new colour, more price, and minus a few features. What the BMW G310RR has, and TVS Apache 310 does not, is a quickshifter.[embedded content][embedded content]Of course some fans were not happy. But this has made the job easier for those Apache 310 owners, who like the BMW badge more. One such owner is Arman Zunaid, who has successfully modified his Apache 310 motorcycle to look like the BMW G310RR Style Sport variant, that has an ex-sh price tag of Rs 2.99 lakh. Apache 310 has a price tag of Rs 2.65 lakh, while the BMW livery wrap costs about Rs 10k.In the video above, Arman explains in detail the differences between the Apache 310 and the new G310RR. He claims that the only feature missing in his Apache 310, and is present in the G310RR, is a quickshifter. Please note that Rushlane is not responsible for content from external sites.Specs & CompetitionBMW G310RR gets the same 312.2cc engine making 33.52 bhp of power at 9,700 RPM and 27.3 Nm of torque at 7,700 RPM in Race and Track mode. In Rain mode and Urban Mode, this engine only makes 25 bhp and 25 Nm. It also gets the same 6-speed gearbox. This engine is also mounted on the same trellis frame too. This reverse inclined motor is first in the segment that helps mass centralization and centre of gravity.BMW G310RRBMW has only made changes to colour scheme and graphics while the rest of the machine is identical to Apache RR 310 it is based on. If you ask us, it is not a bad thing as TVS Apache RR 310 was a banger, to begin with. Priced at Rs. 2.85 lakh (ex-sh), BMW G310RR competes with KTM RC 390, TVS Apache RR 310 and Kawasaki Ninja 300.But the Rs. 20,000 increment for the BMW badge is a little illogical. Especially when the same Rs. 20,000 can be spent on TVS’ brilliant BTO packages that gets fully adjustable front USD forks and rear monoshock from KYB. This adjustable suspension has been completely given a miss by BMW. The German brand has in fact deleted some TVS exclusive features that worked only through their proprietary software like SmartXonnect. So, Bluetooth connectivity and all associated features are gone for Rs. 20,000 – 35,000 addition. Value for money? More
