Hero Vida Electric Scooter To Offer Best In Class Features

Hero MotoCorp can now use the word “Hero” to market their upcoming Vida range of electric 2W productsImage for illustration purpose.Hero MotoCorp was supposed to launch Vida electric scooter brand on July 1st. But due to global semiconductor shortages and the injunction raised by Hero Electric, it took quite a lot more time for Vida launch to happen. But Hero MotoCorp has won the case against Hero Electric and can now use the word “Hero” to market their EV products. Both companies banking on the word “Hero” is likely to create some confusion among buyers. But Hero MotoCorp has created a new brand, a new logo and a whole new identity to negate most of that confusion. Vida is promising a different approach towards electric scooters with swappable battery tech.Even though both Hero MotoCorp and Hero Electric are spawned from the same Munjal family, they have been different companies for decades. Now that they’re clashing in the same 2W EV segment, both had to witness legalities. But Vida is Hero MotoCorp’s first ever attempt at EVs while Hero Electric has been at it for a long time. In fact, Hero Electric is the highest-selling 2W EV manufacturer in the country.Hero Vida Electric ScooterHero MotoCorp has registered various trademarks that revolve around the name Vida. This means that the company is planning to launch multiple products and associated services as well. Some of the trademarks are Vida Mobility, Vida Electric, Vida MotoCorp, Vida EV, Vida Motorcycles and Vida Scooters.Hero Vida Electric Scooter – Best In Class FeaturesThe debut of Hero MotoCorp’s Vida lineup is set to happen on October 7th. The company even launched a new teaser as well. With legal niggles with Hero Electric ironed out, Hero MotoCorp can now push ahead and get the products closer to launch. Coming to the range of 2W EV products that Vida will bring is not yet known. Hero MotoCorp has kept the details tightly wrapped and we haven’t seen any of the leaks and whatnot. That cannot be said about LML’s upcoming electric scooter that is likely to be called Star and also a pedaled electric motorcycle with USD forks and ADV-inspired design. What To Expect?Coming to its powertrain, Hero Vida range is likely to get swappable batteries as revealed by the company. This comes courtesy of a strategic partnership with Gogoro, a Taiwanese-based company that has expertise in building and maintaining battery swapping infrastructure. Other partnerships include Ather Energy which is likely to provide its charging grid and equipment and a few other EV components.Hero MotoCorp has always associated itself with value and affordability. If we take a look at Hero’s entire lineup, these attributes hold strong across the range. These attributes are also likely to be translated to its Vida electric scooter lineup as well. Coming from mainstream manufacturers, we can also expect quality engineering to some degree.Hero Vida Electric Scooter – Swappable Battery TechThe main emphasis on EVs nowadays is on safety. Hero MotoCorp is likely to make a battery pack that packs some amount of fireproofing too. Given the price point at which Vida products are likely to come, we can’t expect fancy features that are found on startup electric scooters from Ola and Ather. In its latest teaser, Hero reveals that Vida can be charged at home, parking lot, and at their public charging stations.Only, Hero doesn’t directly own public charging stations. This is where Gogoro and Ather are likely to come into picture. Hero Vida series will be unveiled on October 7th and a launch is likely to follow soon. More details will be revealed on October 7th. Rivals are in the form of TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak and upcoming Honda electric scooter among many. More

Bajaj Triumph 350cc Spied In India For First Time – Royal Enfield Rival

Triumph’s new range of single-cylinder motorcycles are likely to get 250cc and 350-450cc capacity enginesBajaj Triumph 350cc Motorcycle Spied In IndiaOnce a taboo for premium motorcycle brands, the quarter litre and 350-450cc mid-size segment is now too big to be ignored. Earlier, BMW Motorrad had entered this space with launch of their 300cc motorcycles. Triumph will be next, as their new street roadster has been spotted in production-ready form. A scrambler based on the same platform will also be launched simultaneously. While exact capacity of Triumph’s entry-level Bonneville motorcycles is not known, the company had earlier stated that it will be in the range of 250cc to 650cc. These new bikes have been developed by Triumph’s UK R&D division, whereas production will be handled by Bajaj. Launch is expected soon. It has now been spied in India for the first time, near Bajaj plant in Pune. It is the scrambler variant that has been spied now.Bajaj Triumph 350cc Spied In IndiaThe classic version will rival the likes of Royal Enfield Meteor, while the Scrambler will take on the likes of Hunter and Yezdi. Retro theme is clearly evident with features such as round headlamps and rear view mirrors.Other key features include USD front forks, chiselled fuel tank design with chrome filler cap, all-LED lights, twin-piece seat with quilted pattern stitching and upswept exhaust. Fine detailing can be seen on exposed engine parts, which enhances the bike’s overall look and feel.Bajaj Triumph 350cc Motorcycle Spied In IndiaTriumph’s new entry-level roadster utilizes a tubular frame with a cast swingarm. It has 17-inch wheels at both ends, shod with 110/70 front and 150/60 rear tyres. Aesthetically, the bike appears to offer a judicious mix of classic and modern features. While some features appear to be inspired by Bonneville range, others look familiar to Trident 660.Bajaj Triumph 350cc Motorcycle Spied In IndiaWith its new entry-level bikes, Triumph can target multiple markets globally. Apart from its home market UK, significant opportunities exist in countries like Indonesia and Philippines. Triumph will be looking to make its single-cylinder bikes accessible to a much larger customer base, something that hasn’t been possible with the company’s current range of motorcycles. When launched, Triumph’s 350-450cc bikes will take on the likes of BMW 310cc range and KTM 390 models. Even when manufactured by Bajaj, these bikes won’t be as affordable as Royal Enfield bikes in international markets.Bajaj Triumph 350cc Motorcycle Spied In IndiaTriumph 350-450cc motorcycles could be launched at around £5000-£5500 price range, which is approximately Rs 4.80 lakh to Rs 5.28 lakh. Smallest capacity and most low cost Triumphs they surely will be, but not necessarily the most affordable in segment.Triumph sub-500cc scramblerTriumph is also working on a scrambler version based on the same platform. Now spied in India, Triumph’s new entry-level scrambler is equipped with larger alloy wheels, handguards, shotgun-styled upswept exhaust, split seats and dual-purpose adventure tread tyres. Rest of the bike’s profile is largely the same as that of street roadster.Bajaj Triumph 350cc Motorcycle Spied In IndiaIn India, Triumph’s new sub-500cc motorcycles could be launched at a starting price of around Rs 2 lakh. Pricing has to be competitive if Bajaj-Triumph are looking to play the numbers game with formidable rivals like Royal Enfield. Bajaj has also purchased rights to Vincent Motorcycles, a British motorcycle brand.Source More

Royal Enfield 650 Continental GT Gets Touring Friendly – Modified

RE Continental GT 650 gets the most powerful engine Royal Enfield has ever made along with Interceptor 650Royal Enfield 650 Continental GT ModifiedRoyal Enfield is currently the top dog in retro classic motorcycles. With Classic 350 and newly launched Hunter 350, Royal Enfield has reached new heights and has smoked its rivals completely. RE has also launched Continental GT 650 and Interceptor 650 which form around 90% of 500cc+ motorcycle sales.Continental GT 650 is the spiritual successor of Continental GT 535. This motorcycle came with Cafe Racer looks that was unlike any Royal Enfield before it. But it wasn’t well received and soon fell into limbo. With the 650cc parallel-twin engine, RE gave it a breath of fresh air. Royal Enfield is popular among modding community and has spawned a lot of custom bikes. Here, we have a touring-friendly Continental GT 650 which is absolutely rad. One would think that a custom touring bike would be based on an Interceptor 650. But, that is not the case here. One look at this custom tourer, it is a far cry from a Cafe Racer which is Continental GT 650. Let’s take a look.Touring Friendly Continental GT 650The main thing that draws attention is its paint scheme. With Nardo Grey as its base coat, this custom tourer gets gloss black elements to spruce up things. This colour scheme looks radically more premium from all the colours that Continental GT 650 gets in its stock avatar. Entire engine bay is finished in matte black to give it a stealthy appeal which complements the Nardo Grey.Royal Enfield Continental GT CustomWe have a new engine guard finished in black. The centre of attraction is its custom handlebar. Stock GT 650 gets clip-on bars that require its rider to get into a sporty posture. A little too committed when compared to Interceptor 650. This custom tourer gets a tall handlebar that reminds us of custom choppers that offer a comfortable posture suitable for long rides. This touring friendly Continental GT 650 gets provision for a top box and two panniers. It also gets a custom grab rail along with reworked seats to aid its rider in mile munching. Other highlights include a larger fly screen that provides a lot of protection from wind blasts. Stock bike only gets a small fly screen which is mainly for aesthetics.Stock bike gets a round headlight with normal halogen bulbs. This touring friendly Continental GT gets an after-market LED setup that should provide more throw and intensity. All these upgrades make this custom tourer a lot more tourer friendly which the stock bike could not have pulled off.Royal Enfield 650 Continental GT ModifiedSpecs & ComponentrySuspension setup and even wheels are retained from the stock bike. So are its brakes. With 320mm disc at front and 240mm disc at back, coupled with Dual-channel ABS as standard, GT 650 offers good braking performance. Its spoked wheels get a black finish that looks better than stock. This touring friendly Continental GT 650 is powered by a 648cc parallel-twin engine that makes 47 bhp of power and 52 Nm of torque. It is coupled with a 6-speed gearbox that also gets a slipper clutch. This is by far the smoothest Royal Enfield engine ever made.Source More

Hero Xtreme 160R Stealth 2.0 Launch Price Rs 1.3 L – Apache Rival

Hero MotoCorp has kept the Xtreme 160R untouched in terms of mechanicals with visual and feature upgradesNew Hero Xtreme 160R Stealth Edition 2.0Hero MotoCorp is currently the highest-selling motorcycle manufacturer in India. With budget commuters like Splendor and HF Deluxe series, Hero is pushing on and on. For every 2W manufacturer in the country, the time periods revolving around Dussehra and Diwali are prime times. Pushing the sales envelope at this time is paramount.Manufacturers offer discounts, bonuses, benefits and other paraphernalia. However, special editions of existing products are also a smart directive to garner more sales. Hero MotoCorp has done the same with its Xtreme 160R. Called Xtreme 160R Stealth 2.0 Edition, it is an extension of the Stealth Edition that was already on offer.Launched at Rs. 1,29,738 (ex-sh, Delhi), this is a Rs. 6,000 increment over the previous Stealth Edition which was launched at Rs. 1,23,806 (ex-sh, Delhi). Let’s take a look at everything new.New Hero Xtreme 160R Stealth 2.0 EditionWith Stealth Edition 2.0, we feel that Hero Motors has kinda negated the meaning that the word “Stealth” should evoke. We say this because Stealth Edition 2.0 gets a lot of red accents (not in a subtle way) to give it a new look. But it is likely that a lot of customers might feel that this is not stealthy like the first Stealth Edition was.[embedded content][embedded content]We get added goodies like knuckle guards as standard fitment along with a neatly integrated belly shroud too. Xtreme 160R Stealth 2.0 Edition gets a mysterious matte black shade, with striking red accents on the telescopic fork, frame, pillion grip further and multiple other places. If Hero had added these additions without the red elements, Stealth 2.0 Edition could have been a lot more stealthy. But buyer perceptions vary.Malo Le Masson, Head of Strategy and Global Product Planning, Hero MotoCorp, said, “The Hero Xtreme 160R Stealth edition received a tremendous response from customers, enthusiasts, and experts alike. It instantly became the motorcycle of choice for customers who have a unique style that stands out from the rest of the crowd. This new edition is both Stealth and Smart, with a black livery signed by red accents, for the passionate riders, and our Cloud connected system Connect 1.0, for the tech-savvy consumers. Stealth and smart, this is the Hero Xtreme Stealth 2.0.”Specs & FeaturesIn terms of feature additions, Xtreme 160R Stealth 2.0 Edition gets Hero Connect suite as standard which was optional with previous Stealth Edition. The embedded Hero Connect app promises an enhanced riding experience and safety with this edition. It enables geofence alerts, speed alerts, topple alerts, tow away alerts and unplug alerts.New Hero Xtreme 160R Stealth Edition 2.0Mechanically, Hero Xtreme 160R Stealth 2.0 Edition is untouched. It is a good thing. It is powered by a 163cc air-cooled BS-VI compliant engine. This engine delivers an impressive power output of 15.2 PS at 6500 RPM and 14 Nm of torque. The main forte for Xtreme 160R was its 139 kg weight which is unrivaled even today. At Rs. 1.29 lakh, Xtreme 160 Stealth 2.0 Edition takes on the likes of Honda X-Blade, Yamaha FZ, Bajaj Pulsar NS160, and newly launched Pulsar N160 and TVS Apache RTR 160. More

LML Star Electric Scooter Spied Before Launch – Chetak, Ather Rival

LML has filed multiple trademarks in India and the upcoming Star Electric Scooter will debut with two other EVs on 29th SepLML Star SpiedLohia Machinery Ltd (LML) is all set to make a comeback. While LML manufactured ICE-powered vehicles throughout its existence, the company is now re-inventing itself as an EV brand. Given the EV potential in India, we would say that it is the logical step for LML.EV segment is still young in India and LML has a chance to establish itself among first hitters, going forward. We have seen multiple trademarks registered by LML in India. Now, we have got our hands on the first-ever spy shots of LML’s maiden electric scooter for India.Likely to be called Star, it is a good-looking product. Pretty much up there in the segment, we would say. Eye-catchy design is likely to be LML Star’s forte in India. Not just that, sources tell Rushlane that it will be accompanied by two more 2W EVs on its debut on September 29th. Let’s take a look.LML Star Electric Scooter SpiedLooks like LML Star will take a clean and minimalist design approach. The straight lines and clean body panels reflect the same. But at the same time, it looks futuristic enough to strike as an EV and not a conventional scooter. It looks like it has potential to appeal to a wider consensus and hence translate into wider reach.New LML Star Electric Scooter SpiedLML Star electric scooter gets an LED DRL at the front apron. It is of dot pattern consisting of larger individual LEDs. Headlight is placed on top of the DRL and looks like a round housing and can also pack a projector unit. The front apron is finished in glossy black and gives LML Star, a unique look. It gets a squarish digital display placed on top of its handlebar to show various info.LML has tastefully integrated red bits into the design to add some visual flair too. This red highlight is found in the horizontal strip below its single-piece seat and also on its split grab rails. LML Star spied on what looks like its assembly line. Hence some of its wirings are still disconnected. But styling elements include LED turn indicators. This is where LML Star body bulges slightly and neatly flows into its thick floorboard. Speaking of the floorboard, this is where LML Star’s battery is housed, keeping the centre of gravity low.Specs & FeaturesLML Star comes with front and rear disc brakes, front telescopic suspension and a rear mono-shock. It looks like it gets a mid-mounted electric motor and drives the rear wheel via a chain drive. Like conventional scooters, LML Star is likely to get a single-sided swingarm designed in the form of a CVT housing.LML Electric New Names Registered – LML Star and LML HyperbikeThere is a high probability of it getting a hub motor too. Floorboard looks thick which would offer a knees-up riding position. If the whole battery is housed here, buyers can expect a sizeable boot under the seat too. LML Star spied, gets 3-spoke design alloy wheels that appear to be 10” in size and shod with conventional rubber. At the rear, we can also see a tyre hugger that is likely to house its rear number plate to keep the design tidy. LML Star will debut alongside two other EVs on September 29. Of which one is likely to be called Hyperbike. Battery specs and performance numbers are not yet revealed by LML and so are the features. It is likely to lock horns with upcoming Hero Vida and the likes. Upon launch it could rival the likes of Bajaj Chetak, TVS iQube, Ather, etc. More
