Recently, Kawasaki has been updating its motorcycle portfolio to MY26 versions with subtle updates and E20 fuel compatibility. The latest motorcycle to undergo this exercise is the neo-retro sibling of Z650. Called 2026 Z650RS, this motorcycle gets a new colourway to distinguish itself from the model it replaces and a price hike to go with it.
2026 Kawasaki Z650RS Launch Price
Where pricing is concerned, 2026 Kawasaki Z650RS has been priced at Rs 7.83 lakh (Ex-sh). The MY25 version of Z650RS was priced at Rs 7.69 lakh (Ex-sh), which is a Rs 14,000 price hike with MY26 version when compared to the MY25 version it is replacing. If you are wondering if there are any features upgrades, there aren’t any.
The primary change with MY26 Kawasaki Z650RS to distinguish itself from MY25 version is the new colourway. It is called Metallic Ocean Blue, which replaces the previous Ebony colourway of MY25 version. MY26 version’s Metallic Ocean Blue can be primarily seen on the bike’s fuel tank along with its side body panels.
Attractive Gold contrasts have been retained. The bike continues to get a horizontal Gold stripe on fuel tank along with the tail light cowl. Retro KAWASAKI logo on fuel tank and Z650RS badges on side body panels are retained too. The Gold shade on 17-inch alloy wheels on both ends have been retained with MY26 version too.
The lightweight trellis frame, modern retro styling, minimal body panels, slim fuel tank with 12L capacity, 820 mm seat height, relaxed riding position, twin circular analogue instrument clusters with an MID, round LED headlights, fancy swingarm, underbelly exhaust, 2-mode traction control, dual channel ABS and other elements are notable.
Any other changes?
Where cycle parts are concerned, 2026 Kawasaki Z650RS comes equipped with 41 mm RSU telescopic front forks, rear mono-shock with a horizontal back-link swingarm, dual 300 mm disc brakes at the front, single 220 mm disc at the rear, 120-section front tyre, 160-section rear tyre are notable. Seat height is 800 mm, ground clearance is 120 mm, and kerb weight is 192 kg.
Powertrain is the same 649cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled unit with DOHC 4V/cyl head. This engine is capable of generating 68 PS of peak power and 62.1 Nm of peak torque, mated to a slip and assist clutch and a 6-speed gearbox. It has to be noted that with MY26 version, torque has been reduced by 1.9 Nm when compared to the 64 Nm of MY25 version.
