  • Ram is set to debut its Hellcat-powered 1500 TRX off-road pickup today at noon ET.
  • You can watch the reveal live on Ram’s YouTube channel here.
  • Make sure to head back to Car and Driver after to read up on everything you need to know about the new dino king.

Ram is after the Ford F-150 Raptor with its Hellcat-powered 1500 TRX off-road pickup, and it’s finally going to be shown to the world. It’s happening at 12 p.m. ET today, Monday, August 17, and you’ll be able to stream the reveal on Ram’s YouTube channel, but make sure to head back to Car and Driver to read everything you need to know about the supercharged Hellified pickup.

The 1500 TRX will be powered by a supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 that should make more than 700 horsepower, and that engine is also found in Dodge’s Challenger, Charger, and Durango SRT Hellcat models as well as the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk. That powertrain is the significant part of this off-road-focused pickup because its primary competitor, the Ford F-150 Raptor, is powered by a twin-turbo V-6 that only makes 450 horsepower. We sure hope Ford strikes right back and puts a supercharged V-8 (hopefully the 5.2-liter from the GT500) in the 2021 Raptor.

We expect that the 2021 Ram 1500 TRX will start just north of the Raptor’s $55,150 starting price when it goes on sale by the end of this year.
